My family and I stopped at J's to get some dessert after a school fundraiser and it was delicious. My husband and son got the Oreo Cyclopes and I got a medium size vanilla cone with sprinkles per my daughter's request. I am giving this ice cream parlor four stars because the inside seating wasn't accessible, only outside seating. It was very cold and windy to where we decided to get back in our car to finish our ice cream then leave. So not ideal when you come with two small children towards the evening/night. But overall I would like to come back in the summer, I know we would enjoy the outdoor seating. read more

I have been coming to J's for quite sometime now, whether it be with my son's or the wife, it has been an enjoyable place to go to get a classic cone, sundae, or more niche items like the Italian ice cream and cylcones (blizzard dupe). Unsure of the woman's name, but she is always friendly and gives great service! Sitting outside and watching the nightlife during summer and spring reminds you of the days of Foster's Freeze. I paid 7.90 with a small debit fee and was able to share this Rocky Road cyclone jr with my wife, crunchy and tasted AMAZING!!! Tonight, I tried the mudslide cyclone and I kid you not, there must've been an entire pack of Oreos in my cup! Lol! I got full halfway and there seems to only be 2 size offerings: medium & large. There's no dine in options here, don't be fooled. The door remains locked and you order from the window outside. Looking into the parlor, you can see tons of boxes their supplies come in. It's just untidy and really could be organized better. So for ambiance, they get zero stars. I have yet to try the Italian ice but will do so on my next trip here. read more

Last time I ordered a medium reeses cyclone and it was a little overwhelming; surprisingly I did not finish it lol. The banana split is less sweet and a good option! It's all vanilla soft serve ice cream. No other flavors but that's okay! The vanilla soft serve is creamy and perfectly sweet -- but not overly sweet. They also add whipped cream, nuts, a banana, pineapple, strawberry, and chocolate toppings which are very good too. The Italian ice is very good! It reminds me of a bomb pop that is topped with creamy soft serve. Very delicious! Service is always fast and they always tend to be busy! The seating is limited outside. No indoor seating. This place needs a major renovation! However; this does not affect the quality of the products sold. I think they would get more clientele with indoor seating, a cosmetic upgrade would drive more customers in. If they sold burgers and fries, etc. this would be a hit! Kind of like those old school joints such as "frosties freeze" chains found in small towns in the Central Valley -- (209 area here in California). If you know, you know! While the flavors were tasty and the soft serve was delicious, the actual Italian Ice was too icy, almost like it had been sitting in the freezer for too long. Even though I came on a weeknight, there was a bit of a line and wait. While the price was actually very low, there is also an additional cost if you pay with card, which I didn't see any signs for. Came back for the cyclones or whatever they're called. I got Rocky road and coffee one. 2/5 stars. The rocky roads are susually made with almonds and they use peanuts, the marshmallows were stale and for chocolate they used chocolate rocked. Not good, I wouldn't get it again. I got a medium and it was huge $7.50. If I tried another I'd get a small, it's a perfect size. The coffee one wasn't great either, I think they add cappuccino powder and mix it with vanilla ice cream to that that "coffee" flavor, but didn't taste like coffee, more like cappuccino and I wasn't a fan. read more
