Every three months I come down to Downey for a doctor's appointment and I always try to stop by a place that I never been. Yelp helps me find a spot along the way home. Today I stopped by Gaucho Cafe and bought a sandwich and empanadas. They also sell imported products from Argentina such as olive oil, canned goods, packaged cookies, pasta, candy and more. They have a bakery that serves freshly baked pastries, variety of empanadas. Customer service is ok, parking is spacious. I got a chicken and short rib Empenada to try. The short rib tastes better in my opinions. My daughter got a chicken Milanese sandwich and liked it. Overall a great place to check out while in the area. It's the type of market that I love. Found this cafe on Yelp but not that much information, so it's a cafe right next to gaucho grill restaurant, diagonal to 24h fitness . The sandwiches totally recommended, same for the pastries and super well delicious , the empanadas not so good , they have to improved their flavor . Place has lots of sitting and big selection of Argentinian foods , staff is the only one that when you order they give you that look like they are lost and don't know what you ordering exist , but overall cool place to try out Background music as you sit is really relaxing

Love this place! The happy hour to the dinner was such an experience. Matias assisted us, definitely ask for him! He is amazing. Very attentive and professional, yet personable. Will be coming back!

We went here for my nephew's party, place is a disappointment, we were a party of 13, maybe they have a hard time with big parties. I'll break down my thoughts. Ambiance- 5 stars, Restaurant is super nice, really like the decor, bar area was also very nice. Would revisit to sit at the bar. Service- Super slow, we waited over 15 minutes for just an Ice Tea and other drinks, our waiter was over his head, he would disappear for 20 minutes at a time. He forgot to place orders for appetizers we wanted and gave us some ridiculous excuses that didn't make sense. Even though they automatically charged a 20% service, I usually add more for good service-not this time. Food- I ordered the Picanha, mash potatoes and a Cesar salad. The steak was as I ordered it- medium Rare but both the steak and mashed potatoes were lukewarm, also, the salad was delicious but room temperature. The expectations for the prices is better quality/service but a real disappointment. Had I not been at a nephews party, i would have sent it back. Sucks eating a cold steak.

The food is delicious, by far my favorite breakfast place and I only learned about it about four months ago ! I usually get the garden omelette, which comes with hashbrowns & toast but I usually substitute the toast for two pancakes, which is three dollars more, my husband gets an omelette and he keeps the toast and we just share the toast & the pancakes. The omelette has fresh pieces of vegetables in it , gives it a nice crunch and bursting with flavor! I've had the French toast, which is really good ! They also make their own jam, which is so delicious ! I look forward to a piece of toast with jam every time I go, the peach and the raspberry are my favorite. The wait staff is on top of things! In spite of it being so busy, they are quick, friendly and efficient every time! I kind of don't wanna leave this review and gate keep the place but that just wouldn't be nice ! My husband and I are retired and we have been going there at least once a week , it's so so so good! I had to edit this review because I wanted to mention that I was reading some of the other reviews and somebody said the pancake " just OK" I am very picky about my pancakes and these pancakes are so good ! Served with warm syrup and lots of butter! But very flavorful without anything on them too. Fresh squeezed orange juice as well ! I forgot to mention that! What more could I look for in a breakfast spot?

I can't have them from anywhere else because these hit the spot so hard that no one can compete. I personally have not tried anything else, but my kids have enjoyed other treats from this place. They are located in Cerritos at a very busy shopping plaza and there's plenty of parking. I didn't expect the bakery to be an actual restaurant. There was a good crowd, sitting at tables and eating and drinking. They have about a dozen different flavors of macaroons. You can't go wrong with any of them, but my top favorite are the Birthday, Fruity Pebble, Horchata, Cappuccino and Ferrero Rocher. They make nice gifts too, as they can put it in a treat box in an ice brown paper bag. I definitely need to come back and try their drinks and something else from their menu.

They charge an extra dollar to substitute oat milk, so I kept the regular milk. My son got the cappuccino cake, and I chose the ricotta pistachio cake. The pistachio cake was a little dry -- not terrible, but noticeable. However, my hot salted caramel latte was actually very good and paired really well with the dessert. The music and atmosphere were nice, and there were only a few patrons inside, which made it feel relaxed. However, there were a couple of dirty plates left sitting on tables while one employee seemed more focused on organizing napkins instead of clearing them. I also wasn't too sure how fresh the cakes were since they had been sitting in the display. Whether I come back really depends on the flavor and quality of the food and drinks next time around.

Still, it's nice to know this place remains a reliable go-to whenever I'm craving a good drink. One thing I really appreciate is how creative they are with their seasonal menu. It feels like there's always something new to try, and there is always a drink I want to try. This time, I ordered the seasonal High Mountain Paradise with 50% sugar and lychee jelly. It was absolutely delicious, and the 50% sugar level was perfect. It was just sweet enough to bring out the flavors without overpowering the tea itself. The mango and guava notes were a bit subtle, but they paired wonderfully with the delicate oolong tea, creating a refreshing and well balanced drink. The lychee jelly was also a great addition, adding a little extra texture and sweetness with every sip. I'd also say this jelly was softer than the typical jelly I've gotten, which I really liked. The shop can get pretty busy, probably because they really do offer a little bit of everything. Besides drinks, they have a food menu that seemed surprisingly popular during my visit. I saw plenty of people ordering snacks and meals, and everything coming out looked and smelled amazing. I'll definitely have to come back and try some of the food for myself next time. The space itself is on the smaller side, so finding a seat during peak hours can be a bit challenging. That said, they do offer both indoor and outdoor seating, which helps.
