I've come here a couple of times now, and it's one of my favorite bakeries. I absolutely love their horchata frappes, their empanadas, and their cheese taquitos. Super delicious! I hope they branch out towards the South Bay Area. I would go regularly.
Coffee and more! They offer pan dulce, deserts like prepackaged tres leches cake, and savory items like burritos and tortas with carne asada and al pastor. Their Mexican-themed coffee drinks are my favorite part. We got a Buñuelo de Olla, Duvalin Cream Cold Brew, and a Horchata cold brew. I also heard they had a Gansito mocha drink, which sounds amazing, but I didn't see it on the menu today. Fast and friendly staff, expanded hours of operation, great food, creative coffee drinks and modern/clean facilities. Solid place!
I wasn't really sure what I felt like eating . I had previously visited another one that's only about 10min away a few months ago. When I walked in, I got a friendly greeting, and it was pretty quiet until I left; then it started to get busy and rainy. So, I ended up ordering three things: a rosca de Reyes, a.little.co cha mazapan I believe and a stuffed croissant like along with some stuffed. I also got some Abuelita hot latte very good and a chorizo and potato empanada, which was really good overall. The customer service was fantastic; they even refilled my water bottle for me. You definitely need to try the chorizo and potato empanada with the chipotle sauce - it's worth it! You will not be disappointed with the Abuelita and the chorizo Papa with the chipotle sauce
An earth angel blessed me with lunch delivered right to my door. The croissants were incredible! Interestingly, I had prayed for God to grant me strength and energy. Boom! Coffee arrived at my door, bringing a smile. God truly works in mysterious ways. The drink was delightful, but nothing compared to the croissant and coffee.
This establishment should be called mariacheese bakery. I stopped in for a breakfast burrito but it came with cheese, it's a chorizo and egg burrito it's usually my go to since this burrito typically does not come with cheese. It came with cheese here and was told it could not be removed. I get it, premade stuff or maybe shredded cheese could be hard to remove. But Every food item included cheese! They should have at least one food item without cheese. I purchased a vanilla concha which was just okay and went on my way to burrito exchange.
Chocolate banana ice latte is delicious! definitely recommend to try! They also have themed FIFA World Cup pastries conchas
I love seasonal drinks, this one is unique. The buñuelo de olla is soooo good! It has an horchata foam and cafe the olla cold brew. I tried the brown butter last time and it wasn't it for me this one though is definitely the best seasonal drink out there. Also I asked for no Christmas sprinkles but it usually comes with them. This is the spot for quick good coffee
After a chilly morning bike ride, a bakery just sounded like the right place to stop. When we walked in, the interior was very modern and clean, primarily a black and white asthetic. We had a fairly large group, and we were noticed and attended to in a timely manner, with the staff apologizing for any excessive wait. I got one Cuerno Fino pan and a mazapan concha. Both were excellent. I didn't get a coffee but a lot of my peers did, and I kind of wish I got one myself. All in all, it was a great visit. Would definitely come again if in the area.
Big place with ample seating and clean. Even the restrooms are clean. They have a variety of coffee, matcha, frappe, and latte drinks. They also have pan dulce and some unique/variety slices of tres leches cake. also, if you feeling for something savory they have burritos, tortas, and empanadas. I didn't get a chance to order any food but went with the iced latte with pistachio cold foam. The gansito, horchata, and cafe de olla tres leche slices look worthy of a try!
The deliciously curated drinks and friendly service bring me back. Also, probably my second favorite strawberry matcha
Walked in to a very clean establishment this would be my second time visiting this store and I'm still amazed by it I wish I would have gotten the cashiers name but a young man suggested two cold brews one being the abuelita and one being the duvalin cold brew both VERY GOOD I will be back to try some more Also the pan dulce line up looked amazing , no flies , no dirty smells , plenty of seating , and plenty of menu items to choose from
Service was good the woman was sweet and let us look at the menu. Now the drink was not good at all, my home coffees are 100x better. Nothing tasted like strawberry besides the dried strawberry. The coffee was not good at all tasted like the instant kind that's not even mixed well. Aesthetically it was pretty looking but won't be back again.
It was our grandmother/ Mother date and we visited this location. They have plenty of parking space and the cafe they have plenty of space to maneuver in. We had our baby stroller with us so perfect plenty of space for it. I had tried their Whittiers location so this was my mothers first time and nearby where she lives so seeing they have one near by, I did not hesitate in giving them a try. We were greeted and let's say we were both blessed in finding out they had two last almond croissants! Perfect for our coffees. Service was amazing, the cashier was very helpful to us and we enjoyed our coffee date. My mom was amazed and almost cried cause their Americano coffee was spot on. With its coffee crema and hot how it should be. She was enjoying that coffee, my latte was perfectly made extremely well balanced. Of course all of a sudden my baby wanted coffee, good thing we had brought his milk with us. We were all included in our perfect date. I would like to thank the team for making our day amazing! The location is bigger than I expected with plenty of tables to sit. The place was clean and had mariachi songs playing the whole time. They have traditional pan dulce items, but also cakes, cheesecake, and other sweets. I got the Duvalin Cream Cold Brew; however, it was not my favorite. The strawberry cream was delicious but I didn't love the rest of the drink. The service and location were great so I am looking forward to try a different drink and bakery item next time I am around the area. read more

I've seen this new bakery/food spot before and finally made it in. Loved the paintings and "sayings" on the walls and as you walk in you're immediately greeted from someone behind the counter. They have a variety of pan dulce options and other not so sweet bakery items as well. They also have breakfast and lunch items you can order and enjoy with a cafe de olla or another chilled sweet Mexican coffee. Went with the chorizo con papa burrito and a hot cafe de olla as well as the cold versions with a sweet cream foam. All were very good and I can't wait to go back and try their empanadas. read more

I was in cali a few days and I stopped by this place and it was great! I ordered a ham and egg torta. With a horchata iced cafe is was delicious!! The service was good, the guy could smile more but other than that it was great! The place had a great feel to it. If I pass by again would definitely be back. read more

Cute little bakery, I got to say. I liked how they had a little Mexican Xmas tree decorated with abuelita and mariachis ornaments. They have delicious and authentic mexican bread "Pan Dulce" This is my second time coming in,,, and their bread tasted yummy as it was freshly made. I got an empanada and a hibiscus agua fresca. Staff was so nice and friendly they made me feel welcomed!.. Definitely recommend checking out this place!..I will be back soon for sure again!! Thanks read more

Let me tell you about the Downey location. It's vibrant , but the customer service is fantastic. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted warmly. The lobby is spotless, and they have a variety of pastries available on-site. i love the coffee here & the pastries however today i decided to try the food & i got a breakfast burrito- it is not fresh made or made to order so assuming they just warm it up. the burrito had cubed ham so as im eating it, i saw a ham that looked greyish green so i took the burrito apart & the cubes of ham were half pink & half grey. ive never seen that before & i deemed it unsafe to eat. i will not be trying another food item from here. read more

I've been coming to Mariachi Bakery in Downey almost every single day for about a year now mainly for my horchata matcha (nothing else compares, trust me). The drinks always hit, the pastries are fresh, and the staff is genuinely friendly and hardworking. I've never had a bad experience here, not once. Some of these 3-star and low reviews honestly sound off. If someone drops their drink, how is that the bakery's fault? Be real. And complaining about the taste? This is a Mexican-based bakery, tenemos sazón. The flavor, the sweetness, the vibe, that's part of what makes it special. If you can't appreciate that, maybe try baking yourself before judging. Mariachi Bakery deserves all 5 stars. Consistent, authentic, and always showing love through their food and drinks. read more

Noticed this place and had to go. I'm not sure if it's new or if I have just missed it... Ordered a few things to try them out: Champurrado Latte, red velvet Conchita with cream cheese filling, empanada de chicharron con chile verde, and empanada de papa con chorizo. The top 2 were the chicharon empanada and the latte. But I would def want to go back and try out other things.. seems like a great place to dine in as well and hang out a bit while enjoying their food. They had good music on. read more

The aroma of pan dulce hits your nose when you walk in, and I am embracing the smell of fresh baked goods. First time here, I was lucky we got to walk straight up to the counter to pick out breads & pastries. Unfortunately, I was not hungry so I skipped on the pastries but I was looking forward to the try the iced horchata latte which was delicious and I enjoyed every sip of it. It's not like a traditional panaderia where you pick out your own bread, an employee does that for you. I will say it is on the pricey side and parking here is a bit of a disaster. I do plan on returning to try the pastries and another coffee in the near future. read more
This review is solely for the pan dulce sweet bread. We usually get pan Dulce around the corner ar Pomce's Bakery. The smell and the heat of the ovens and pan Dulce coming out of those ovens early morning are just amazing. My 23 year old daughter wanted to try this place so bad. Must be a social media hype thing. Is my first thought. And I am typically wrong 0.01 % of the time. So ..... We went to please her as she wanted to try the Mazapán concha's. We got a box of about 8 pan Dulce and it was over $12!!! Ok ok. So how was it Luis!!?!? Get to it. Again, this review is solely for the pan Dulce. First let me say that my expectations from going to Ponce's and getting fresh out the oven pan Dulce, hot, soft, some gooey and delicious were just shattered. This pan was all cold, old, and hard. More than likely 1 day (at least maybe longer) old bread. The taste was just OK. The coldness and hardness just takes away even more from the taste. The supposed star of the show, the Mazapán concha was you guessed it just ok. It was so hard (that's what she said). The mazapán topping flavor was spot on. Tasted just like a mazapán. However, the fact that it was so old, cold, and hard kinda ruined the whole experience. Don't think we Will ever return here for pan Dulce. Will stop cheating on our local baker Ponce that we know won't disappoint. May be back to try their food. Key word: 'May'..... outtie 5000!!! read more

Came here for my caffeine fix on a Sunday morning. Went with the cafe de olla and caramel flan latte. They were both very good had a balance of 65/35 bitterness and sweet. Service was excellent and there is plenty of seating inside to enjoy the many pastries they sell. I got the pumpkin tres leches since we are in the season. Overall this place is a must try if you are in the area. Definitely a place I would return to. read more

Oh my god! You have to try everything on the menu lol I love how spacious this location is. Also the lighting is great here! Very clean and neat. Staff is super friendly. We ordered the chicharrón, chile verde torta and Machaca con huevo torta. 10/10 Drinks were also on point. 10/10 Pumpkin spice cold brew with pumpkin sweet foam. Lots of parking available. Walking in it's clean, no music playing, sunlight is very overpowering inside (at least for me and the ppl I brought) coffees taste the same (very similar to a McDonald's iced coffee). I tried the churro iced coffee, Spanish iced coffee, and orchata iced coffee.... *regular size was $6.55*And tbh tastes the same..the chocolate croissant is good. Coffee 3 leches cake is good, conchas are hefty not fluffy. When the time came to order we were rushed (it was our first time visiting since we saw it on TikTok). The person that assisted us was not knowledgeable about their beverages. :/ we may visit the same bakery at a different location. Also, The only things really "Mexican" about it was the black and white portraits:). And 2 Vicente Fernandez quotes. But here you can see a bit of the bakery, the menu on the screen and an interesting choice of seating. Not a bad thing, just didn't give us the Option to sit away from strangers. read more
Such a vibe. I love how spacious it is! Very clean. They play a bunch of traditional Mexican music ( hence the name of location) . They have a great selection of pastries too! From empanadas to burritos! They also offer non dairy options too! read more

This was my second time coming here, and there are still so many drinks I want to try. I got the horchata matcha latte with strawberry cold foam and oat milk--so good! Super tasty and not too sweet. I also grabbed a warmed-up chocolate croissant, which was really yummy. Definitely looking forward to coming back for more! read more

Drove by on our way to the Downey Promenade and decided to come back and try it. As a Latina who isint super into Tierra Mia I was hoping to try some drinks and pastries here. I really wanted to try their iced Caffè the olla with cold foam I've never seen it served like that anywhere else. It was sweet and strong the flavors really shined and reminded me of the times my relatives have made it at home. They have a variety of patries and savory food like burritos and empanadas. I got their empanada de tinga which is a Chipotle chicken filled empanada. It came with salsa and picked onions on the side. It was warm, flakey, and nicely filled. The salsa was so good and having the iced coffee to wash down the spice was perfect. This location is spacious with indoor seating and is nice and tidy. The staff was very nice and even brought our orders to us when we were sitting inside. There's so many things to try! read more

This place was so good, I wish there was one closer to the SGV I came to Downey to finish my taxes and had some time to kill. Came across this on Yelp and I'm Mexican AF so I had to stop by. The empanadas, the tres leche cake and the coffee was just amazing. I got the birria empanada and omg, the sauce and the picked onions just do it. So flaky and soft. The tres leches cake was so good and moist with so much flavor. Must try. Parking was also no problem plenty of it! I recently visited this café and tried three iced drinks, including the Strawberry Refresher Horchata, which I highly recommend if you like cinnamon--its taste was a perfect 10 out of 10. The mocha was okay, though quite strong, and the vanilla iced coffee, while also strong, had a good balance and was priced well for a normal iced coffee. We also enjoyed four baked goods: two cinnamon croissants and two conchas each ranging from $1.50-$2,which paired perfectly with our drinks. The café offers a variety of affordable pastries. The prices are excellent, and the drinks consistently impress. I will definitely be back to try more options, including matcha, refreshers, coffee, and more pastries. The service is outstanding; the staff are super nice and provided great recommendations on the different flavors of drinks and pastries. This café is a 10/10 for me! read more
First time trying the new Downey Location and arrived to a busy coffee shop on a holiday Monday. The staff was friendly, both bakery and coffee shop was quick and service was exceptional. I ordered the Abuelitas Frappe that was not as sweet as it looked and I appreciated the coffee forward taste. Also ordered a Concha Rosita that was light and fluffy. The original Norwalk location does have more seating in my opinion but Downey was spacious and had a more upscale, trendy feel to it which was a good contrast and gives each Mariachi location is own individuality. read more

I came back months later to check on these flauta sized Burritos. This time I got a chance to talk to Juan the owner. And I guess the size on these burritos is here to stay. Juan explained that there is no way to make these burritos bigger. He did mention that to make up for the size they created the "Mariachi Combo" deal which is a burrito and an empanada for about $15 dollars. I like that there is something being done about client concerns, so I had to update my review. read more
After looking at some insta video about this place I just had to check this place out! Well I did love the pan Dulce!!! Wish they had more though. I tried the cafe cold and that was so good. I love the music and all the great Mexican artist pictures on the wall! I recommend this place! read more

yes there's outlets. i would say it's an ok place to study. there's a limited amount of outlets and many people are here so the noise level is a bit loud
