Was recently recommended this place from my sister, who saw it on tik tok. Location: off of Imperial Highway & Lakewood Blvd, next block over from a big shopping center. Plenty of parking and the sign outside is huge. Can't miss it! Service: Everyone was very friendly and greeted me. Nothing bad to say about the service when ordering. Ambiance: decorations on the wall were good! Definitely had some Chicano vibes in there and the music was on point. There seemed to be a lot of old Mexican classic bread options and desserts! What was disappointing was there was food on the floor and almost every table was messy. Food: I got the cream cheese croissant which was nuts! Love the atmosphere and love the friendly staff at this location. It was my first time here and I was wowed by the coffee blend. I tried the Horchata Cold Brew which was the perfect amount of coffee. It wasn't too sweet and I loved it. I paired it with an Empanada de Birria which was recommended by our barista. The empanada was delicious and came with some purple onions plus red salsa. This small empanada was super filling even though it seemed like a snack. I loved my coffee so much that I decided to get a to go beverage. I got a Tres Leches Cream Cold Brew iced and it was amazing. Honestly I will definitely be returning for a quick coffee and I would highly recommend that you listen to the baristas if you don't know what you want. Mariachi Bakery is so cute. It is in Downey and parking is easy. The place is so clean and I love the decor. They have some of the best Mexican style pastries you will find in town. We love their great assortment of pan dulce. You can have your treats there or take them to do. The service is very nice and they are patient when you can't decide if you want 12 pastries or 20. They have great cakes and coffee. They have seasonal cold brew coffee, which looked great on other tables, but I did not try it so I can't be sure. You will love the family atmosphere of this place. Absolute trash. I heard from a lot of people this place was not good but I wanted to try it for myself. My sissy and I ordered 5 different breads and a croissant so we could get a good feel for the place. We did not order a coffee. Service was whatever. But the quality of the pan was absolute garbage. I wanted to try the horchata 3 leches cake and it is really good, perfect amount of sweetness and I loved they don't add a lot of cinnamon on top. I also bought elote fino bread and it is the first time I see a good amount of yellow filling inside it had a lot of flavor. Next time I want to try the drinks. Occasionally, I visit the Goodwill next door, but one day I noticed that this restaurant replaced a previous business that was there so that caught my attention. When I walked inside, I started to admire the various delicious-looking pastries. However I didn't try any of them (for my first visit anyway). I started to order the Horchata Cream Frappe, but I also wanted to try an empanada as well. The birria empanada was kind of small, but it was flavorful. The horchata cream frappe was tasty, and the cinnamon wasn't overpowering or too sweet. The drink also had a surprisingly amount of longevity. The service was excellent! Stopped by for 4th of July red white n blue conchas. They were the small ones at $1.50 each. Overall overpriced and not living up to the hype I've read about. The decor is nice to sit and have a snack with family or friends I guess. The servers were neither nice or helpful. Doubt I'll return, just went to try it out that one day. The place is very clean and it's not too crowded to find a seat! The menu here is rather big with so many specialty drinks and classic coffees. Endless Latin inspired flavors to choose from it's hard to just pick one! They also have matcha lattes for those who don't enjoy coffee! I would give 3.5 stars if I could. First off, don't expect big portions, and expect a little bit of a wait time. I tried the huevo con machaca burrito and a mazapán concha. The burritos are anorexic when compared to, say, Chipotle or most mom and pop places. I found that the rice by itself didn't have any flavor at all and was a tiny bit hard. The side of red onions you get is just weird. They're not seasoned or marinated, they're just slightly tender onions. Again, weird. The salsa, though, is pretty tasty and has a good amount of heat. The mazapán concha was so cute and small. I'm not sure if they have a full-size or maybe that is the full-size idk but it was just the right size when you only want two bites of something sweet. Sadly, the mazapán flavor is really, really subtle, and I think I'm being generous. Takeaway- Prices as expected/slightly high for what you get. Portions are on the smaller side. Flavors are ok, but lack intensity/depth. That being said, I will go back to try one or two more things on the menu before making any final conclusions. read more

The coffee is great but the "tortas" are not tortas. It's a basic sandwich you get at the frozen section. Sorry not sorry but I was very disappointed. I usually love this place! In my most recent visit I accidentally spilled my coffee and had to wait a long time for any help. I had to use napkins to try and clean, eventually they said 'they'll handle it'. I want to start with how excited I was to try the Mariachi Bakery!!! The short Tik Toks my wife kept sending to me all week had me super amped up for today's visit!! Last night, I placed my order for pick up at 6:30AM Order consists of the following: Large Cafe de Olla, Churro Crumble Cake, Chorizo con Papas Torta, Ganzito Tres Leches and 4 Conchas 1 of each Easter Color (blue, geen, yellow & purple). I arrived at 6:11 a little early, but the store was fairly empty. One table was occupied with a father, daughter having breakfast, and one couple walking in the same time as me. The couple and I were greeted by 2 different girls. Mine asked me if she could help, and I said I was looking, but i did have an online order I was picking up @ 6:30 she also asked my name and when I told her she said it was ready let me get it. She came with the Cafe de Olla, a box with 3 conchas and my torta in a separate bag. She then began telling me they ran out of the purple conchas and the churro crumble cake. She also said I should take the guava cheese bread in lieu of the crumble cake, and I told her I don't like guava cheese and asked for her to replace the missing concha with one of the other colors and as she was putting in another green this cook or assistant comes out with purple conchas and I said I guess your not out and asking her to replace the green with the purple. I then asked about the crumble cake again on how could you allow me to place an order online and be sold out before 15 minutes after opening, she said just take the guava and I said no thank you... I asked if it's still cooking thenI would wait since that's what i really wanted... She walks back to the kitchen area and says this guy will wait for the crumble cake, and then the kitchen kicks out a square of cake... Now I then say I guess you weren't sold out, and she then put the piece in a cooker.... So once the crumble cake finishes, she plops it in the box with the conchas... I asked her if they were out of the gansito tres leches cake because she never placed that in the bag either, and she gave me a dirty look and grabbed a slice and handed to me like I upset her... Now that I had all of my orders, I left and headed to work where i would try the crumble cake with my Cafe de Olla... Let's just say that the crumble cake almost made crumbles out of my teeth as it was hard as a rock... I gave up on the crumble cake and tried the torta, and it was half soggy and stale for a bakery, i figured the bollio would be yummy but not... My wife did like the Gansito Tres Leche, and kids passed on the conchas... What I learned probably shouldn't order online from a bakery because who knows what they're going to give you...
