Stop what you're doing and get down to Maple Leaf diner asap! Hands down the best Bacon chicken and waffles I've ever had. The dish was prepared mile high and full of bacon. They even added two cream puffs on top with extra love. The staff made me feel right at home and even told me their favorite options as well the background story of the establishment. This hole in the wall makes you feel like you're back on the farm eating fresh food prepared with care. The restaurant is clean, inviting and has tables big enough for the entire family. We had gone on a weekend, definitely should get on the waitlist ahead of time or you'll be facing an hour plus wait. Restaurant was packed with plenty of people and the smells of food were amazing. Even though it was busy on a Sunday during brunch the service was rather quick and attentive. There is a lot on the menu that is for sure. If you're visiting the area I'd recommend going outside your comfort zone and try something new. I got the country sausage waffle and a half poutine shared with my wife. Can never ho wrong with their Chicken Bacon and Waffles, but had to go with the Diner Choice Omelette w/bacon,sausage, onion, spinach and pepper jack cheese. We absolutely loved this place. Long wait but we did the join waitlist option from Yelp as we drove so we only waited 10-15min after checking in with the host stand. Our server was on point, so fantastic! The blueberry cream cheese scone is amazing, we dug in too fast to get a pic. This place was well worth the wait. I had a build your own omelet and my other half had the Denver skillet. The food was great, we were so hungry we didn't take photos but the food was delicious, the service was good, and the server gave us top-tier service. Unfortunately, the restrooms are tiny compared to the enormous seating area, perhaps half the size which would be appropriate for the restaraunt. Service - 5/5 This is a table service diner, and our server was excellent. Gave great recommendations, and was entertaining to boot. Food - 4/5 As others have said, the poutine is excellent. If you've never had poutine and want to give it a go, this is a great place to start. The Lox Benedict is also worth a recommendation. I would avoid the home fries, however, which, despite being a fry-lover, I had no desire to finish. read more

A tea mug arrived with lipstick and grease marks, poutine arrived cold, wait for food was excessive and to be seated, even more so (even on the waitlist and after reaching #1, we had waited another 15 minutes resulting in an 1.45 minute wait!). We've lived in Dallas for 3 years and finally decided to try this place as we also have enjoyed our travels to different parts of Canada (owner is Canadian) but for me, it was not worth returning. This place I s an airport franchise restaurant attempting to pass itself off as a local diner. Over priced, a good bit too salty, and definitely very mediocre food. They are however, extra proud of it, and are happy to argue with you about why they are right and you are fortunate to be breathing their air. FWIW, they got all three of my orders wrong. read more

I went to lunch here one weekday with coworkers. It is kind of hidden in the back of a shopping center. I love breakfast so I got the Chicken, Bacon & Waffles $16.99. The chicken was really good, had flavorful seasoning you could actually taste in the breading. The bacon was just okay, not as crispy as I would like. The waffle itself was good too, had a nice crunchy exterior on the edges while still being soft and fluffy inside. I enjoyed the cream puff on top too. It has whipped cream and a few sparingly strawberries on it. I did not use much of the maple syrup as it was quite sweet already. If they included a gravy I think this would have put the whole thing over the top. The service was okay, it was a little slow to get the checks but other than that good throughout. I think it is pretty good but for the price, a little off on value but I would go back. read more

One of the most delicious brunch places I have been to in Dallas so far. My friend recommended this place to me and we went to check it out. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and my friend ordered an omelet with home fries. The food was delicious. My pancakes were fluffy. I love that it was full of blueberries. They looked like they made it from scratch and they weren't cheap with the amount of blueberries. The service was excellent. The server was very attentive. I was also able to get a free cookie from "check in" on the Yelp app. He gave me recommendations of which cookies I should try. I ended up choosing Dulce de Leche flavor cookies. It was good. Also, I love the decor in the restaurant. It has Canadian decorations. It makes me want to go back and visit Canada. This place is must try brunch restaurant. I'd been wanting to try this place for a while as I hadn't had poutine since the place I used to eat it in Austin shut down 5 or so years back The restaurant was busy in the early afternoon about an hour before closing (at a shockingly early 2:30pm on weekdays since they seem to specialize a lot of breakfast foods) but they do a great job of dividing up the tables and have folding screens that seem to dampen the noise a bit. Service stood out and my waiter was friendly and attentive. The classic poutine (full size ~$10) was awesome. The gravy was thick, the cheese curds nice and gooey without being too much of a stringy mess, and the portion was enough where I didn't end up quite finishing it all. In addition the also have varieties with pot roast, chicken fried steak, and southern gravy that I'm sure I'll have to come back to try, as well as a bakery that I was too full to think about ordering from at the time. Maple leaf diner is a great option if you are craving some poutine and their menu looked pretty inviting as a nice brunch possibility as well. My only mark against it is with their hours it might might be hard for me too make it there for a late lunch or early dinner when I'd be more likely to be on that side of town. read more
