I'm giving Oddfellows 4 stars because the service was excellent. My server, Edwin, was amazing--friendly, attentive, and made the experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, the Shrimp Aguachile was disappointing. The shrimp was overcooked, and the dish lacked the fresh, flavorful taste I was expecting. I also think the restaurant should consider changing the chips that come with it. They reminded me of the small broken crumbs at the bottom of a bag of Lay's potato chips, which didn't complement the dish well. Overall, the outstanding service is what earned the 4-star rating, and I would definitely return because of Edwin. I just hope the kitchen improves this particular menu item. read more

Oddfellows USED to be the best. I'm not sure what's happened in the past six months. My review is based on weekly visits here over the past six months, so it's not a one-off issue. The food is great, which is why they got two stars instead of one. The service is so unbelievably inconsistent and leans more towards terrible than great. Drinks take forever to make it to your table, servers are not happy to be here and it shows. There are flies everywhere and every time I come, I've just honestly accepted it at this point. I've messaged Oddfellows on their instagram to resolve these things and they were dismissive and did not give me any reassurance. They do not care about regulars, they just want to move people in and move people out. The outside area is nice, sometimes you're allowed to seat yourself and sometimes you're not. The waitress Karla seems to call all the shots and chooses who she provides service to. I'm just so disappointed in what this place has turned into. Oddfellows - do better!!! read more

This was a lovely spot for breakfast on teo different visits. Our servers were friendly and the location is cozy and in a trendy neighborhood. I really liked the steal-cut oats: a great healthy breakfast option. My friend got two vegan meals: avocado toast (sans egg) and the huevos rancheros (sans egg; sub in veggie sausage). Even on a rainy Saturday, the place was pretty busy. The server didn't come around that much or I would have got another drink. For appetizer, we got the fried green tomatoes with a salmon dip on the side. The tomatoes had a weird taste to them and I was not a fan. The salmon spread was pretty good though. On the chicken fried streak, it was massive. However, I think it needed make gravy. And my eggs were supposed to be over easy but one of the yolks was busted during cooking which should not be sent out like that. read more

Beautiful decor and indoor/outdoor seating, but the food was underwhelming. Everything on my plate was severely under seasoned. I got the chicken fried steak, potatoes and mac and cheese. The steak had a great crisp, but again no flavor. For dessert we got beignets. They were not authentic as claimed to be and were not very edible. They smelled and had a very yeasty taste. Finally made it into odd fellows for brunch. It's so hard to get in, even on a rainy day the wait was 45 minutes for 2. Service was okay, it took a while for our server to come greet us but then once they did things were smooth. I had the fried green tomatoes and the buffalo Mac and cheese. Unfortunately a disappointment in my hunt for a Dallas brunch spot. We opted for a table outside as it wasn't too chilly outside and inside was pretty noisy (though we ended up outside with a rowdy group that were probably just as loud as the entire inside but that's no fault of the restaurant other than maybe over serving). We were quickly sat but that was about all that happened quickly. We watched tables around us get sat and every one get greeted and served before we had still as much as been spoken to. Feeling myself about to lose my sh%t, I went back to the host stand let them know we had still not been helped (honestly we probably should've just chopped it up as a loss and started over elsewhere). We finally got some recognition but it was mediocre at best. Since we had been waiting so long, we put in every thing we already knew we wanted to get this show on the road. We ordered deviled eggs, brisket hash and the duck bacon sandwich (which I had already picked before we left the hotel and probably the reason I chose this place over other options because I don't eat pork and have never seen duck bacon as an option). To my dismay, the server comes back and lets me know they are out of duck bacon (I'm going to tell myself us not getting service didn't keep me from the last of said duck bacon but we'll never really know). I asked him to give me a sec to rethink my plan but it took him quite some time to come back ask but ultimately I ended up with chilaquiles instead. Deviled eggs were good, hubby liked his hash, chilaquiles were mediocre and unfortunately didn't come out until my husband was probably half way through his hash. You could maybe get me back in to try the duck bacon sandwich and hope for a better experience, but I wouldn't hold my breathe in receiving better service seeing other experiences, so I would probably opt to give another place a shot. read more

As someone from Louisiana, I'm pretty picky about authentic Cajun flavors, and while the dishes weren't quite the traditional taste I'm used to back home, they were still well-prepared and enjoyable. You know I am a regular bruncher at Oddfellows and I try to get something new everytime. Being a coffee lover, Oddfellows is one of the only places that has pumpkin spice year round. I recently got an iced pumpkin spiced latte. The latte was amazing. The devilled eggs are always great to start with, good balance between sweet and savory. This last time I was there, I got the Trades Smoked Salmon Bagel, the flavor in the alfafa just brought all the flavors together on the bagel perfectly. I have to say I do not understand the overall rating of 3.5 stars. I'm an avid foodie and always seek out the best food when traveling. I was in town visiting for the World Cup and went here for breakfast the morning of my match being just a block and a half from my Airbnb. I got the waffle and croque madame, which were both absolutely mind-blowing. So good, in fact, that I had to come back for dinner. At dinner, I got a refreshing basil-cucumber drink (perfect for the summer heat) and the burger and fries. Again, perfection. The ambiance was great. The service was amazing. My husband and I decided to try Oddfellow's in Bishop Arts for date night, and it did not disappoint! We arrived around 5:30, just in time to catch the end of Happy Hour (3-6 PM). We started with the lamb meatballs, and they were absolutely delicious--just the right portion size, and the sauce they came with was phenomenal. For my entrée, I went with the Steak Frites, and it was perfection! The steak was cooked exactly how I like it, the fries were crispy and fresh, and the sauce on the steak was bursting with flavor (though I'm not sure what it was). My husband ordered the Seared Salmon, and it was equally impressive. The skin was perfectly crispy, and the Romanesco was roasted to perfection with a wonderful flavor. I also enjoyed two glasses of their Pinot Noir during Happy Hour--it was a generous pour for only $7, just like the lamb meatballs. I've come here for brunch with friends and family. My dad and sister really like their charcuterie board (with honeycombs!!) and I love their buffalo mac n cheese. Their desserts are a perfect way to end our meal. The outdoor seating is our favorite especially in spring time with all the blooming flowers. Service is always excellent.
