Tri-County Pools has just resurfaced our 20,000 gallon in-ground pool with PebbleSheen. We had had…read morethe pool replastered 5 years ago and that job had begun failing within the first couple of years. We'd taken the low bid back then. This time we took the high bid--and are glad we did. The previous job had left out the essential step of the Bond Coat to glue the new surface to the old. This time Tri-County chipped out all the previous plaster, sprayed a thick layer of bond coat, and then resurfaced it with a beautiful layer of Arctic White PebbleSheen. We were VERY IMPRESSED with how thoroughly the job was done. Much more work went into it than the job 5 years ago. From start to finish, the work crews were thorough, careful and cleaned up after themselves. And the pool looks better than ever. I recommend Tri-County Pools. Let me add that there'd been a misunderstanding on my part of one of the costs; Steve responded promptly and we amicably negotiated a resolution. I was impressed.

I cannot recommend Tri-County Pools for several reasons: 1)…read moreThey were months and months behind schedule. The contract was to re-plaster our existing pool, re-tile, and build a sun-shelf. Tri-County told us it would be done within a couple of months but they did not complete the project for over 15 months after I had signed the contract! I had their number saved and would call them every week. They would re-assure me that "my name was on the board," but then they wouldn't show up. We were also renovating our house, and when that was almost complete, we told Tri-County about the upcoming home inspection. They told us over the phone (once again) that the pool would be completed in time for our home inspection. But it was not. The night before the home inspection, we had to drive to Home Depot to buy orange fencing to put around our pool since the unfinished/empty pool was considered an open cavity in our backyard. 2) When Tri-County re-connected the pool pump, they made a mistake with the electrical. It caused additional damage, and we had to replace parts that were previously working (around $750 in parts) b/c they got destroyed due to the incorrect wiring and voltage. We called and sent emails with photos of what happened and they did not offer to fix it or to pay for the replacement parts. We had to buy new parts for the pool pump and pay a new company to help us re-install the very thing that Tri-County had just done wrong. They have zero concern about customer satisfaction or about fixing something that they did wrong. 3) They also said they would fix little things, like openings in the drains that they installed in the deck (where someone could easily slice their toe)...and they never came back to do that either. We called several times. 4) When they came to build the sun-shelf, we were not home b/c our house was also getting worked on, and Tri-County's team built the steps going in the wrong direction of the agreed upon design. They did agree to re-build the steps according to the plan but it was just another delay in an already very delayed process.

I paid $150 for a professional diagnostic visit after my pool pump stopped working. Pegasus Pools…read morethen issued Quote #599828 for approximately $2,775 to replace the complete pump, stating that replacement was recommended due to its age and condition. Later that same day, after restoring power at the breaker, the existing pump began working normally. I contacted the company several times by email and text asking what tests were performed and what specific defect had been found. I received no response. A recommendation to replace an expensive piece of equipment should be supported by clear diagnostic findings. In my experience, the $150 diagnostic fee was not justified, and the lack of communication afterward was very disappointing.

American Spa and Pool - Pentair Warranty Service…read more Dale from American Spa and Pool is fantastic. My wife and I always have a great experience whenever he handles our Pentair warranty service. He's friendly, professional, and gets straight to work. His knowledge of Pentair products is outstanding, and he consistently diagnoses issues correctly the first time. I appreciate that he explains the problem, answers my questions, and doesn't mind me watching him work. He kept me informed throughout the entire repair process, which gave me total confidence in the service. American Spa and Pool continue to deliver excellent support, and Dale is a big reason why I highly recommend them.

Absolute disaster. Property damage and failed repairs! Hired…read moreBaird Pools to fix a small hot tub leak and replace some loose front tiles. It was a complete disaster from start to finish. * Property Damage: The crew did zero prep work to protect our property. They walked over crushed glass directly on our custom limestone stairs and pool stepping stones, causing permanent damage. * Incompetent Repairs: They retiled the hot tub without refilling and pressure-testing it to confirm if the leak was actually fixed. Unsurprisingly, it still leaks. When I raised this with the owner, Cris, his "solution" was telling us to pour Fix-A-Leak into the tub--and then told us to double the dose when his suggestion failed. * Unprofessional Workmanship: They forced an incorrect light into the socket and sealed it with epoxy. Our new repair crew had to use pliers and a shop vac just to undo the mess. The tile thinset used was applied so poorly that dark spots are now visible through our transparent tile, requiring a total replacement as it is a complete eyesore. We have had multiple reputable pool companies out since, and they ALL confirmed the tile job was incredibly sloppy, used the wrong grout, and looked a decade old. We are now spending an additional $10K to undo and redo Baird's work. Cris has expressed to us on a few different occasions that he is not willing to fix our spa, in our last email exchange he told me that, "he is not married to this spa." So much for those "Family Values, Trust and Respect" advertised on their website. Save your money and your property--do not hire this company.
