I don't get the bad reviews. This is a traditional no frills diner where you can sit down comfortably regardless of any weather conditions wether brutal or sunny and find great food the old fashioned way. The food is consistently good, the breakfasts are generous and delicious with toast and potatoes. The salads are crisp and healthy, the menu is so extensive you would need to eat here daily for a year to taste everything. Today I'm having a mushroom omelette and just finished the lobster bisque. Cmon people, what do you want? Unrecognizable food served with an attitude? I appreciate restaurants like this one. Always good and servers do a great job. read more

I Was looking for a diner in queens close to Peter pan donuts & stumbled upon this gem. Old school diner for sure, this place is very nostalgic. We got seated immediately didn't have an hour wait as many of the other diners in that area. Coffee came quick & was very good. We were starving to say the least, we placed our order & it came quickly as well. The food was very good. I had a ham & cheese omelet with homefries, my wife had French toast & my son had pancakes with whipped cream and strawberries. Honestly the worse diner experience I have ever had in Ny. The waitress came up and asked for our order. I was with three of my friends and two of us ordered breakfast and they were small meals. My one friend(who is thin) ordered a larger meal. And the waitress basically told her she shouldn't be eating what she ordered especially because it was closer to breakfast time and I believe she ordered lunch. The waitress kept suggesting things like of need a side of honey? Or an extra water but then never ended up bringing the items. And on top of that anytime I would get her attention and ask for something she wouldn't bring it over for what felt like hours. Towards the end of our meal she disappeared and it took us about 25 min to get our check, and my friend who ordered French fries actually never received with them. We didn't even bother complaining cause we were running late due to the fact that the waitress was so slow and rude. Also my friends grilled cheese took forever as well and was gross. read more

Was excited to see new ownersip especially because I am a big fan if their other restaurant Top Quality. Unfortunately everything was average at best and communication around cooking of items as totally off. Out of 3 poached eggs 2 were rock hard and 1 was correctly cooked. The "extra crispy" hasborwns and well done toast were both completely off with the hash browns soggy and toast baerly toasted. Additionally the over cooked poached eggs must have been taken right from the water onto the plate because the whole thing was covered in a 1/4 inch of water really ruining the dish. read more

Very old school diner with many regulars. I went in here for breakfast.They had your basic items but limited and nothing exciting. I had the combo with eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes, and toast, along with some coffee. The food was very average and the potatoes were not good. The customer service was meh. They have several soups of the day, pies, and cakes. They do lunch and dinner but don't think I will be back. read more

Service n food is great here. Chicken parmigiana is one of my favorite meals, they have wraps and a very good chocolate milk shake. I like their big table in the back, it is comfy and it seats lots of people. The waitresses here are really nice. There are some Greek meals on the menu. Each of the last 3 times I have ordered there has been hair in my food. The food is always below average regardless of what I order. It's a typical NYC diner so I don't expect much. The inside of the place is from last century along with the people who work there and not much has been done to modernize the place. There are multiple diners in the area that are much better then this place so if you really want diner food go across the street to Lite Bites at least there you won't have hair in your food. Just thinking about this place makes my stomach hurt lol. read more

Manhattan 3 Decker, one of the last remaining old school diners in the neighborhood, is my go-to diner. The staff is always friendly and the food (with generous portions) is reasonably priced and consistent. My fiance and I usually split a veggie omelette (they have every combination you could ask for), and some sort of carb dish whether it's french toast, pancakes or a bagel. Have to say this city needs more diners like this! They are SO FAST and SO NICE. Exactly what you expect from an old school diner. Obviously, the menu is extensive ranging from sunny side up croissant breakfast sandwiches and chicken salad wraps to lasagna and gyros. You can tell that everyone that works there has been there for years. The know the neighborhood (they ARE the neighborhood), they know the people (they ARE the people), and they give free refills on coffee (respect)! Don't go in expecting anything gourmet, this is original, old school diner style people! There are a hundred better alternatives in this neighborhood, don't go here-- especially not if you are in a rush or looking for quality food. The diner itself is dated and the menus are tattered. The only other people eating there when we stopped by were easily over 75 years old, that should have been a red flag but we were starving. Stopped in for a quick bite, my friend and I ordered a "Bagel all the way"( bagel with onions, tomato, lettuce, lox and cream cheese for $12 ) and a chicken salad wrap with whole wheat and fries (forgot the price). As we approached the hour mark of not getting our order, the waitress realized they actually forgotten to make it (although from other reviews, this seems like a trend). Finally, the chicken wrap came out on a regular (not whole wheat) wrap with reheated fries. My bagel arrived thin and charred, with a skimpy amount of cream cheese and the ingredients on the side. I was truly offended that this was a $12 bagel and they used less than a tablespoon of cream cheese, not to mention the bagel itself was HARD and I had to assemble it all myself after an hour of waiting. In NY, home of the bagels, that should really be a crime! That said, we were in a rush and at that point I just wanted to eat and leave. The waitress noticed my black bagel when she (finally) came to clear the plates, and told me I should speak with the manager.. but as I said, we really wanted to leave so we just paid and learned our lesson the hard way. This is definitely a family friends type diner. I've only eaten breakfast here and so far I love it. The service is spectacular for example the waitress are extremely friendly and they always try to make conversations with the customers and they're very attentive to your needs and quick. The food is great I like they're homefrys, eggs and delicious whole wheat toast. They usually don't take long to bring in the food and the space is great. There's the front side room and the back side room which i prefer the most since there's a beautiful painting in the wall and more spacious to me I guess though smaller than the front side but I think the back room is better. I love the 15-page 10-pound menu that includes lobster. I love that when I order corn flakes, they bring me a 1/2 gallon of milk, a large box of cereal, and a whole banana and I make it myself. I love the waitress with the 4-inch nails. I love the screaming and yelling orders at the kitchen staff. I love the crazy owner with the huge bouffant. So you're looking for the greasy spoon diner experience where the gum snapping, mustached waitresses will tawk to ya in fine New Yawk accents? Hey, you've got it! This place will deliver that with glee, but at what price? I watched on in horror as the waitress relentlessly sneezed into her hands, sneezed over uncovered food & then used her unwashed hands to grab onto your toast & plates! Charming, huh? She did manage to wipe her nose on her fingers & then relieved herself of the slime on her polyester pant leg. I also caught the other waitress licking her fingers to help turn the pages of her check book. I kept a fine eye on both of them as they coated the place in gunk and germs, never leaving the floor to wash their hands. My stomach flopped & turned as my brunch mates pushed their dishes away. It's hard to eat runny eggs when there are runny noses leaking onto the plates of unaware customers, right? Filth aside, the food. Crap. How does bacon take on a new taste?Bacon has always tasted like bacon, but this didn't even come close. My first description was- "Tastes like the floor tiles of a heroin den." No, clearly I haven't tasted them before, but I had to describe my pork slates somehow & this is what came out of my mouth. Chocolate egg cream looked impressive, but it left lots to be desired. Hey, at least I drank it before the "Snot War of 2010" started. Milk, mucous & eggs. How charming, indeed. I also tasted my significant other's famed "Apple Pancakes." Nothing short of disgusting and sickeningly saccharine sweet. It was served with a fresh bit of of applesauce that came decorated with the dried dark yellow bit that flaked off of the jar rim, groove imprint included. As if ANY of this couldn't get worse, there was an older lady making her way through breakfast with a few black flies buzzing around her head & in clear view- 2 authentic Brooklynites munching through their tuna & egg salad sandwiches which oozed all over their lips & fingers as they chewed with open mouths & thanked their "charming" waitress for everything. Seriously, just sit at the counter, kick back, and listen to them snark at one another. IT WILL MAKE YOUR DAY. These are the types of acid-tongued dames that tell their boss (a jolly Greek man named Jimmy who gets a kick out of razzing everyone in the place) to stuff it up his ass. Consider the following exchange: Jimmy (to waitress): You American girl, why you work here when you could be President or someting? Waitress: Why YOU don't shut up and go back to Greece? I mean... They're perfectly nice to ME mind you. They're friendly, they've gotten to know me and they greet me every morning. But they are NO NONSENSE and it is hilarious. It's the sort of half-playful ribbing born out of genuine love for each other...I think. Seriously, it's like getting a comedy show with your breakfast. No joke. Plus, everyone that goes to the place seems to be a regular. It's one of those places where everyone knows each other. It's like stepping back in time to an era where neighborhoods like Greenpoint were ones full of recent immigrants and Brooklyn lifers and not 9-5'ers just trying to catch a break on the rent and hipsters recently cut off from their trust funds. 3 Decker fuc*ing RULES. During a rainstorm I and my girlfriend dubiously wandered into The Triple Decker diner. We had a previous breakfast engagement of going elsewhere but because of the rain and wind; upon walking by I stopped and swiftly dragged my girlfriend into one of her worst breakfasts. Once we sat down we were quickly and overtly greeted by a sassy and comedic waitress. She gave us a telephone book of a menu and we ordered coffees and I an extra orange juice. She returned with the burnt aromas and powdered drink promptly and we ordered our main meal. For me a simple Omelet and hash-browns - For her some eggs over easy, hash-browns and toast. As we discussed that: "This clearly was a bad and terrible decision," our food arrived. My omelet was made with at least 6 eggs and had at least a quarter pound of mixed cheese and bacon inside it. It was staring at me on the plate and made me feel uncomfortable. Aside were the undercooked hash-browns with mystery red powder on it. I felt a bit guilty not only when I did not finish more than three bites of the meal but when out of spite my girlfriend tried to finish hers. I watched her, asking her not to eat more with my eyes - but this was her payback to me for my unsavory last minute choice. Lastly I without guilt paid for the whole meal with forgiveness of better choices in the future. I give the Triple Decker Diner 1 star because it won't let me give it zero star rating. I for see a dark future once the older Polish population of Greenpoint stops returning to its doorstep. It can be used best as a revenge gift card for a funny present. Please tread lightly and inebriated if you are to enter it doors. read more

Avoid this place - the only thing going for it is the kitsch factor. Low quality food, and terrible customer service. Not a good breakfast... We landed at the Manhattan 3 Decker after searching for a brunch spot in Williamsburg - to which a friend's roommate suggested we try a place called Peter Pan. Unable to locate the illusive lost boy, we settled for this place given its proximity and host's lack of desire to continue walking up Manhattan Ave. Once we walked in I knew we were going to have a "baaaad time". It reminded me of home (South Florida), but not in a good sense. If you've ever had the opportunity to visit SoFla's Greek and Polish influenced diners, you'll instantly know exactly what I mean. The decor is dated, and their ceiling desperately in need of a proper dusting. Despite this, the restaurant has been there since 1945 - so their food would probably be pretty good...right? Nope. I ordered Eggs Benedict and requested salmon instead of Canadian Bacon. The server made a point to reiterate (much to my annoyance) several times that the Eggs Benedict comes with CA.Bacon, and they would charge me extra for Salmon. I literally had to tell her "That's fine" three times before it sank in. Fast forward to food arrival - the salmon was decent enough (but not of overwhelming high-quality ala Nova Scotia or Scotland), but the English muffin was topped with mayonnaise. Gross, right? Also, the hollandaise sauce had more of a gelatin "quick mix" quality. The home fries were probably the highlight of the dish, but it was definitely an overwhelming portion of food. To make things worse... My brother, in anticipation of a low quality meal, simply ordered Mozzarella sticks and somehow the server managed to drop a container of mayo on him. With scarcely an apology, she then proffered a "dry" (e.g. used to clean up food) rag for him to wipe the mayo off his jeans. Manhattan 3 Decker, neither I nor my friends shall return hence. Not bad for a quick meal. My friend and I were running late for a concert and this was the most promising looking diner/deli we could find. Our waitress was very nice and very quick with our drinks. I ordered a turkey club sandwich with some sweet potato fries. The food was pretty basic but that's exactly what I was looking for. My friend's chicken wrap was pretty good as well according to him. I've been calling this place for over a month without receiving an answer. Tonight, out of desperation for a good turkey club, I gave them another call and the phone was busy for 10 minutes. Finally, someone actually answered and I placed my order. This is where it went down hill. I ordered a burger with Swiss but got Cheddar instead. I got my turkey club, but the turkey was so dry that I was ready to pour some of my beer on it. It was wrapped in foil so when I opened it, the entire sandwich fell apart and I spent another few minutes re-assembling food I paid to be assembled. Every bite I took meant something else would fall out, whether it was the tomatoes or the bacon or the lettuce. I could only taste one flavour at a time because everything else would fall out. Finally, I took off half of the turkey but at that point, the sandwich was in pieces. The bread was too thick and slightly burnt. Now, perhaps I'm a bit rigid about this notion, but if I pay money for a meal I don't want it to be painful to eat, and have to assemble it otherwise I'd buy the ingredients and make it myself. Additionally, I don't want to have to clean up bits and pieces of it from all over the table, as I don't eat like a pig in a trough. The burger wasn't terrible but it wasn't noteworthy. The fries were big and wide, the way I love, but they were greasy, soggy, and lacking in salt. Also, I asked for mayo and ketchup on the burger, with mayo on the side. I got neither. Time to go to Greenpoint again. It's that time of the week when my husband wants to go and cash his check and travel all the way to Greenpoint to do it. Just an excuse to "take a walk" that's what he say's all the time...whereas he can actually just go to the branch here in Elmhurst and do his business but Nooooo, he actually enjoys his "walk" to our old "hood...and have brunch afterwards.... I suggested we go to Manhattan Three Decker this time...I was tired of having the same thing at the Easy Bites place...so off to the corner of Norman & Manhattan Ave..we went. It was just a street over....we were greeted by a charming waitress.(is she new) ...the place was surprisingly full... this was not the first we came to this place....we were here quite a few times before....the surroundings always homey and staff always friendly which I love....my husband had his usual "no meat", 2 eggs overeasy, potatoes and toasted multigrain bread w/ butter & Jelly.... I had the Vegetable Omelet (broccoli,peppers,spinach,tomatoes,mushrooms w/ low fat cheese) with multigrain toasted baguette on the side......Very filling....had to skip lunch.afterwards....
