Went here after it popped up as one of the best places to grab a sandwich! Lunch crowd gets pretty busy. They ask if you want hard or soft bread (there's a difference!) so I went with hard bc yeah never been asked that. I could barely like chew the hard break. 4/10 for me on the bread for sure. Idk if it was like too hard or idk stale but like obv sandwich ruined. I'll have to go back and try the soft bread. Wish they had a bit more toppings. Got a turkey sandwich and may have to run the visit back.

Italian sandwich spot in Capitol Hill. Cold cuts had tons of flavors. Veggies added some nice texture. Would have wanted a little more meat and a little less bread.

My favorite sandwich shop in DC. Realistically there's not bad sandwich, and/or bad item. I consider this my go to when I want to impress my friends with quality. It's a small space but once u walk in the staff greets you and after you place your order you have to wait anywhere from 5-15 min. But once you get it the wait is justified. Only knock I have against them is the 3pm closing time but I'd absolutely recommend this spot!

Top 3 best sandwiches I've ever had and supporting a family business makes it even better. The G-Man is absolutely fantastic (soft roll with sweet and hot peppers) and they're always speedy. Highly recommend

I thought this sandwich was fine. Ordered over the phone for pick up. It was ready pretty quickly. I think the prices are good for what you're getting. I did feel like the added way more onions then I would've liked and they also went a little heavy on the oil and vinegar which made my bread a little soggy. But all and all it gets the job done and the bread tasted fresh.

Someone recommended this sub shop, I didn't actually go in , I pulled up while someone went inside. I got the Italian sub with lettuce, mayo , tomato and onions. I also wanted vinegar and oil. The person forgot to add the vinegar and oil when placing the order and it made a difference on my sandwich. The bread and meat was fresh it was decent I just couldn't get the hype probably because it didn't have the vinegar and oil s d it was too much mayonnaise on my sandwich. I do want to go back and order the sandwich myself.....to be continued.......

Not a good experience at Mangialardo. While I do like a cold cut with with bread that absorbs the oil and vinegar, this one leaned on the soggy side and I do not know why because I didn't get much oil and vinegar taste. I was disappointed in the fact I ordered and paid for extra meat which I did not receive. I also received the some of the core of the lettuce which was hard and old. Overall, an experience which left me wanting more. I might give them another try if in the area.

It took me 39 years to try this place. You really have to pay attention to their hours. What i love is when you walk in you can smell the fresh rolls. They have soft rolls and hard. I opted for soft turkey sub. Nothing spicy, just plain. I absolutely loved how simple it was. I think i was most excited about how soft the bread was. It's a very basic sandwich but that's exactly what I was looking for. The sub was about 13 bucks and to me it was worth every penny. I personally would love this with jalapeño chips inside.

Tried Mangialardo for the first time on 3/31/26 as a recommendation from a friend ...ordered the G man on a soft roll (Ham, salami, mortadella, pepperoni, fontina cheese, provolone cheese, oregano) - it was absolutely delicious- just the right amount of seasoning, meat proportion & toppings. Service was quick and friendly....Sub was good for two meals . I will definitely return

Ask the Community - Mangialardo

Is there a park nearby with picnic tables or some other place where we could eat the subs? With Litteri's subs we take them to the Arboretum, but that's a haul from Mangialardo's. Thanks

Lincoln Park doesn't have picnic tables but does have benches and lots of grass to spread out a blanket

We split the DL's Egg Drop (the bulgogi breakfast sandwich) and the Hatch Green Chili sandwich. Both were well executed. The bulgogi brought some real depth to what could have easily been a gimmick, and the hatch green chili edged it out for me personally. The heat was there without being obnoxious, and everything held together the way a good sandwich should. Friends went with the shrimp and grits and had nothing but good things to say. The team behind this place (Scott Drewno and Danny Lee, also of Anju and ChiKo) knows what they're doing, and it shows. The sourcing is thoughtful, the execution is consistent, and the menu has enough going on to warrant repeat visits without feeling like it's trying too hard. Would come back, and would tell others to do the same.

I Egg You is a great little breakfast spot tucked into the Barracks Row neighborhood of Washington,…read moreD.C. I've always enjoyed visiting this area. It's full of interesting shops, great restaurants, and, surprisingly for D.C., relatively easy parking. The food was good. We ordered the bacon and sausage breakfast sandwiches, and both were enjoyable. The sausage sandwich was unnecessarily messy thanks to the crumbled pork, but the flavors were good. Nothing extraordinary, just a satisfying breakfast. I also ordered a Bloody Mary, which I'd rate a 7 out of 10. It had a nice amount of spice and a respectable flavor, but something was missing that would have made it memorable. I'd order it again, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. The restaurant itself is straightforward and understated. The interior is clean, simple, and without unnecessary frills. It's a comfortable space that lets the food do most of the talking. Unfortunately, the service was the weakest part of the experience. I arrived around 9 a.m. on a Saturday. The restaurant was busy but far from packed, with plenty of available seating. I took a seat at the bar, where the bartender promptly greeted me and handed me a menu. I immediately told him what I wanted to eat and ordered a Bloody Mary. Then I waited. And waited. Nearly ten minutes passed before I saw my drink, despite watching the bartender prepare and serve drinks to customers who had arrived after me. There was no explanation or acknowledgment of the delay. It wasn't a catastrophic service failure, but it was frustrating, particularly given how quickly the interaction started and how manageable the crowd appeared to be. That's ultimately what holds I Egg You back. The food is worth trying, the neighborhood is enjoyable, and the restaurant has a pleasant simplicity about it. But the service, at least during my visit, was noticeably slow and lacked the attentiveness that makes dining out enjoyable. Would I eat here again? Absolutely. Would I choose to dine in again? That's a harder sell. I Egg You makes a good breakfast sandwich. I'm just not convinced the dining experience adds much to it. Next time, I might take the food to go.

All their items are made-from-scratch, and the menu seems to rotate occasionally. I love how it is simplified where you choose a $10 or a $15 main, which both options come with 2 sides of your choice, wheat or white toast, and a small canned juice. We ordered: +the Shrimp & Grits - the grits were the best grits I've ever had - they were thick, creamy, cheesy, and seasoned perfectly! I'd probably order this dish again, without the sausage, and opt for more cheesy grits as my 2 sides to load it up! +the Cheesecake Stuffed Peach Cobbler French Toast - this wasn't as overly sweet as I thought it would be, which was great; I think we'd go for the simple French Toast or the pancakes next time, though +Old Bay Maple Breakfast Potatoes - the Old Bay seasoning was subtle, and these large chunks of breakfast potatoes were more on the sweeter end +Scrambled Eggs +Turkey Sausage Link +Turkey Sausage Patty +pineapple and cranberry juice I noticed that the cranberry juice had expired, but it was easy to replace it with another drink of choice. Staff were friendly, but note that depending on the queue, you may wait for some time for your food, as it's all made-to-order; we waited for ours for about 12 minutes or so, and everything came piping hot! The portions are extremely generous and can feed at least 2 people or be split into 2 meals. Note that there are small little ordering cards to place your orders through; hand them to the staff, and they'll give you an estimated wait time. Most seem to get their items to go, as this is a food truck and there is no seating area. I'd be curious to try out any other additions they may add to their menu in the future, but I would definitely come back for those grits! +delicious grits! +friendly staff! +food truck located on Pennsylvania, in front of the shopping center

So she made sure to bring pop tarts for the kids at the end of the meal, complementary and they sang to us! Now I had a very long workday and the traffic and parking didn't help so when I saw they had a mimosa great I ordered it and it was in front of me within a few minutes! Second she mentioned how happy hour was ending very soon, but if we wanted the appetizer sampler, it was $18 and we said absolutely thanks so much. We also put in the kids order and they were able to eat pretty quickly after ordering because the service was very good. The adults ordered the Turkish eggs, which were very good although I might say the yogurt was a tad garlicky for my taste, but some people might be in for that. But otherwise great presentation very tasty dish. My husband enjoyed the chicken pickled sandwich and said it was tasty as well. So honestly, five stars for service, four for food, and five for hospitality. Definitely would return. Great experience.

We shared the escargot, lamb kofta potstickers, crispy mushroom Arancini, and cauliflower. The cauliflower was so delicious and savory, definitely with Middle Eastern influences, and I could've eaten a whole bowl of it. I thought the lamb kofta dumplings were pretty interesting--I haven't ever had anything like it before, and they did a good job of allowing the flavor of the lamb to shine through without being overly gave me.
