One of my favorite Chinese food places in tri valley. If you're used to the Chinese food in SF, this place does not disappoint. My favorite dish is the Szechuan popcorn chicken (good mala, spicy flavor). Sometimes the chicken is dry maybe because they're using breast meat, but I always try to request for dark meat. They have other great dishes and classic staples like Sweet and sour pork and salt and pepper fried fish fillet. Yummm. Haha guess I like too much fried food! read more

Finally had a chance to stop by after an appointment with my mom. The parking lot is decent, but if you hit the busier hrs you might have to park a tad further out. Anyways, overall a 4.5 out of 5, a slight knock since it was a tad harder to get in and out with my mom's wheelchair of the restaurant due to the center barrier by the front door and with the busy lunch crowd (both coming and out of the place). First of all, I honestly thought it would be much bigger inside, but it's a hole in the wall with sort of open air kitchen which is slightly obstructed by a wall which separates the kitchen and the tables for the customers. The waitress was overall pretty friendly and patient when taking our order. And the menu itself is decent in overall selections and offerings, but my normal go to's seem imo to have a much bigger menu to pick from. The lunch prices are overall within range to many places and the proportions are surprisingly pretty big. The food itself was very good and flavorful and tasty. But, if I'm in the area and craving Chinese food, I definitely will try and stop by a tad more often. read more

Everything was tasty and served quickly. We ordered four dishes: Beef Chow Fun, General Tso's Chicken, Firecracker Shrimp, and Fried Rice with Salted Fish and Chicken. About thirty dollars/person, everything included, quite reasonable. We're not Chinese, so not experts, but we have had most of these dishes before/elsewhere, and everything we ate was quite delish. The Beef Chow Fun is the best I've ever tasted. Really good. The firecracker shrimp was the sleeper delight. Family member had eaten this, and ordered it. Not oily, but under the shrimp (largely hidden from the lens) was a layer of the seasoning which went into the stir-fry, including Szechuan peppercorns. The mouthfeel of this dish is amazing. You can't go wrong here. We are surrounded by good Chinese food here in SoCal, but we've not found a place equal to this place locally. Kudos to the staff. read more

The owner, Bo, is gracious, hardworking, and a genuinely nice person. He worked as a waiter for the previous owner, China Paradise. Over the past few years the quality and taste of the menu has gone downhill rapidly. Tonight I ordered BBQ egg food young. It arrived burned and totally tasteless. No flavor at all. No sesame oil, hoison, soy or salt at all. First time in a Chinese restaurant I've had to use salt. I also ordered WonTon soup. The broth has no flavor. Bo is not a trained chef and his dishes reflect this. He really needs to hire a chef consultant to rework all the menu items and properly train the staff. What used to be our go to restaurant for American Chinese food is now off our list. Fortunately, Mayflower restaurant is a few blocks away and serves more authentic and very tasty food. Bo, please hire some expertise and we'd be happy to return. read more

I'd say that this is the best Chinese food in the Livermore/dublin area! Everything tasted very fresh. None of the meat was dry like we find at a lot of other Chinese restaurants. Everything came out piping hot and delicious. Portion sizes are also huge! I'd say if coming on a weekend for dinner get there a little early because they don't have a ton of tables and they get packed. Service was friendly and fairly fast. I apologize to the owner for leaving my poor rating, but this may prove helpful to some of your customers. We had high hopes based on the overall rating - we ordered: Kung Pao Chicken, House Special Chow Mein and Sauteed Green Beans with Pork (these may not be the actual names of the dishes, but this describes what I remember). All three were very generous portions with simple ingredients, extremely greasy, with very little unique flavors. The green beans were simple and almost a 4 star, the chow mein had a lot of ingredients, but lacked distinct flavors, all smothered in oil which may have masked any inherent flavors, the same basically with the kung pao - it had lots of chicken and bell peppers, but lacked any spice although whole small red peppers were included, none of the taste of which became part of the total, I tried biting one, but they appeared very dry, no knives were provided, so I could not cut any open, very few peanuts, again the excess oil may have been smothering any flavor. Using the chile oil condiment added a little flavor, but that too was lacking in real flavor. Sorry, but we have been to a lot of chinese restaurants, this does not measure up. read more

Went here on Lunar New Year and they were busy, mainly with pick-up orders. I was able to get a table right away. There was only one server helping out all the customers. I think they're short staffed but they hustled and were attentive. I ordered the green beans, chicken chow mein, sesame chicken and chicken fried rice. There's so much meat in the sesame chicken!!!! Met up with a friend of mine who prefers Chinese food for lunch. We usually eat at Peking Delight in San Ramon but the last several lunches we decided to try different Chinese Restaurants. I noticed Mandarin Delight when I was running errands in Dublin so I made a mental note to try it at some point. I suggested Madarin Delight for lunch. We had the lunch specials and I ordered the Hong Kong Crispy Noodles (comes with pork, chicken and prawns) to go for my wife. My friend had the Deluxe Mixed Vegetables with prawns and white rice. I ordered the Beef with Asparagus with fried rice. All the dine-in lunch specials come with your choice of a starch with an up charge if you prefer chow mein, fried won ton and the hot and sour soup. My friend liked the variety of mixed veggies and generous portion size. My beef with asparagus was enough for two meals. We both liked the soup which had meat in it. I think I will pay extra and try a lunch special with chow mein next time. My wife liked the Hong Kong Crispy fried noodles but said she would substitute beef for the prawns next time. She thought the prawns didn't taste quite as fresh as she had expected. Mandarin Delight is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Tri-valley, Alamo, Walnut Creek and Concord area. This will be in our top three local go-to restaurants for Chinese food. If you are hungry, go hear for generous servings and great Chinese food. read more

Was hoping to find a good Chinese lunch special restaurant since China Villa closed. This place is very good and would be a definite consideration when I'm in the area. Lunch soup is chicken corn soup. I liked it, and thought it was very flavorful, but the gloppy texture is not for everyone. I loved that it was piping hot (temperature-wise). Lunch portions are HUGE here. And food is cooked fresh. Everything came out hot. We thought the broccoli beef and Mongolian beef were a bit salty, especially that sauce on the broccoli beef. But the beef was high quality and large pieces. Orange chicken was good; the orange flavor was mild and the sauce was not heavy handed. Princess chicken was good, not spicy. Great crispy batter on both. Mongolian beef wasn't spicy, but again, large portion of meat and not just those little styrofoam noodles and green onions taking up space. Fried rice looked promising but was disappointing. It was under seasoned and undercooked. They offer brown rice for an extra charge. And their sodas are fountain sodas!! No need to worry about those old cans of de-fizzed and expired soda! This place is small, maybe max 60 occupants. It was crowded at 1:20pm on a Saturday. I would not recommend this place for very large groups unless you call ahead and reserve. All their tables are two or four tops that they push together to make bigger tables. There are no large round tables for parties of 10+ Customer service was fantastic. Usually not a hallmark of a good Chinese restaurant, but everyone was friendly and polite. They also packaged our leftovers for us, so be prepared for that if you're the type that doesn't want to take home everything on your plate. And the plastic bag they give for your takeout container is good quality, not the cheap kind that rip when you're trying to undo the knot. read more

After a mediocre first experience with a delivery from Doordash, I wrote a 2.0 star review. Bo, the owner, invited me for an inhouse experience for my round #2. Speaking of Bo, I really like him (as many of the reviews attest to). He was so nice, very hospitable, and very humble -- not wanting me to change my review, but honestly wanted me/us to have a good experience. That's it. But how could I not change my review? It was actually very good food! =========================================================== Egg Rolls, Chicken Fried Rice w/white meat, Shrimp with Green Beans, and Chicken (white meat) with Asparagus. The chicken, requested white meat by us, was absolutely delicious. The issues I had with my DoorDash delivery was part, yes, delivery (Orange Chicken will not be delivered crispy it steams as it's in a box), and there's no place (or upcharge) for requesting white meat (nor does the menu state it's dark). On the other hand, Chinese food is usually wonderful delivered (maybe 2nd most favored in the world behind pizza). Anyway, go in to eat if/when you can. You won't be disappointed. read more

Food: * Crab puffs: 10/10 One of my favorite places for crab puffs. Fried to perfection and puffiness. A wonderful taste explosion in your mouth of spicy, sweet, sour and garlic. The chicken was juicy and cooked skillfully. * Fried chicken wings: 10/10 Generous portion of chicken wings with garlic, onions and peppers. * Steamed fish: 8/10 Freshly prepared pieces of fish steamed with the flavors of soy sauce, garlic, ginger, broccoli, scallions and cilantro. Beautiful presentation with fresh fish, herbs and veggies. It was delicious but it could've used a little more flavor. * Hong Kong Style Crispy Noodles: 9/10 Crispy noodles served with chicken, pork, shrimp and vegetables. I substituted the pork for beef. The meats were fresh and I love the bok choy, mushrooms and sauce. Very delicious. Drinks: 3 * Tsingtao Beers: 10/10 I absolutely love the frosted glass. If I would have left this review the 1st time I ate here when I dined in, it would have been a 5! There food is delicious. However, this time I ordered take out and the order was wrong and Justin an employee was a complete Jerk. I called in, placed my order and even called back to add on and everything was great. We picked up our families order and of coarse they gave us one wrong dish. Mine, I ordered general's chicken, upon realizing the mistake I called the restaraunt and spoke to Justin thinking this would be an easy fix. NO, Justin was rude and told me I was wrong about what kind of chicken I ordered. I said, excuse me, I order this at every Chinese restaurant we go to and it always has a batter, red peppers and is a spicy dish. I personally did not like what we received, but I dont like overly sweet food. (This was sweet. No pepper or spice and not battered and fried.) He again very rudely told me i ordered the wrong thing and he wasn't going to fix it. I then got upset, told him nevermind i will call your owner or manager tomorrow. Next, I looked on line and low and behold I found a picture of their general chicken looking as I expected mine to look and I took a Pic of what I received. Now if Justin had been kind about the mistake and tried to fix I would not have left this review but to get the wrong food, been rude too and basically told I was wrong and clueless....Sorry Mandarin Delight you need better employees to 1. check the orders going out and 2. New favorite spot in Dublin for the fast casual style Chinese comfort food I grew up on in the Bay Area. Favorites like chow mein, Mongolian beef, walnut prawns and orange chicken are on the menu and the portions are epic (the lunch special could feed two normal sized people, I devour the whole thing). Great service, clean restaurant and of course a fortune cookie at the end of your meal. The prices are reasonable, too. I haven't been there for dinner yet but I'm definitely going to be a regular. I came here around 12:30 pm on Christmas Day, it was nice that this restaurant was open and it got quite busy during lunch time by around 1 or 1:30 pm. The inside is simple but nice enough for a casual meal. My husband and I ordered lunch specials - princess chicken and orange chicken. They came with a serving of hot and sour soup which was nice, the "appetizer" is the wonton crisp pictured in the photos. We also placed an order of green beans with garlic. The portion sizes were generous and the flavors were really good, particularly with the princess chicken and green beans. My cons were that the green beans seemed a bit overcooked so they didn't have the nice crisp feel and my orange chicken was a bit on the bland side - it tasted very healthy which isn't what I was going for when coming here overall I would come back to try this place one more time but unsure if I'd choose this spot over my usual go-to for this type of food. read more

I came to Mandarin Delight in Dublin to get some meal and was surprised to hear that I won't be getting what is showing in their menu online and also on their menu in the restaurant. I was getting the lunch special which comes with appetizer and soup with any of the meal listed but the lady who helped me said appetizers is not included in the lunch special. Ok so still I placed order of 2 meals and did takeout. When I reached the office I came to find out she only gave me 1 chilli sauce for 2 meals. Also there was no spoon for me to use for soup as she only gave 2 forks.
