Two of our party became sick after eating dinner here: -I told our waiter on ordering that I could not eat cow dairy. When my steak arrived smothered in cream sauce, I sent it back to the kitchen. Judging from the veracity of my illness the last 3 days, they scraped the sauce off the top and re-served the same steak after warming it up. -My colleague was so sick the following morning that she had to cancel her flight home that day. Everyone agreed the vegetable sides were overcooked. To top it off, they added a 20% gratuity pre-signature on the check for a table of 5. While 20% is my standard tip, this was particularly insulting given our waiter's ignorance of the ingredients in dishes. read more

Greatly disappointed by the food. I took my family here before a concert this week. The restaurant is nice and the waitstaff are fine but the food is terrible. When the seared tuna appetizer arrived on a bed of very wilted lettuce pieces we should have known that was a bad sign. The whole meal was disappointing but probably the worst was the paella - it was a bowl of flavorless, greasy rice with bland and unrecognizable vegetables and a few pieces of rubbery, overcooked seafood. The lemon wedge that came with it still had a big produce sticker stuck on it. There is no way the paella is made fresh with how tasteless and overcooked the whole dish is. If I had brought clients to a dinner or lunch like this I would have been embarrassed. Needless to say, but I will not be returning ever. read more

I love with their happy hour...so many cocktail options. I had the mashed potatoes and stuffed mushrooms. If I wasn't a lady... I would have licked the sauce of the mushrooms. read more

Mancuso's Restaurant - Italian Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

An excellent, albeit expensive lunch option, Mancuso's has been on my downtown dining list since they opened. And because I work for a smaller bank, we had Friday off for Veteran's Day. It gave me the perfect excuse to head here with a friend who work in the Collier tower. We started with the fried calamari, which was perfectly cooked and the warmed marinara they served with it was also divine. I ordered the linguini and clams; Jason ordered the eggplant parmesan. First, there were so many clams in my linguini, I mean an insane amount of clams! Not that I'm complaining. Jason said his eggplant parm was out of this world. The garlic bread was heavenly. Surprisingly, there was hardly anyone there on Friday. read more

I must add that after I submitted my review, within minutes, I was confronted by the bartender. Of course, I knew that the lettuce (brownish) wasn't edible but for presentation. read more

A decent restaurant for a pre event dinner. About a 2-3 block walk to the arena. Had the bruschetta plate courtesy of a YELP CHECKIN COUPON and crab stack, both delicious. Then the lamb chops which were overcooked and not presented medium rare but still tasty, also the fra Diavola which was very filling. The wine list is diverse but as usual, pricy. No room for desserts but the presentation looked tempting. Service was always there when required. The red wine came at cellar temperature and was decanted as requested. All in all, I would return to try some of their other offerings. read more

Had dinner there with my fiancee. Nice Italy place but also serves French and American dishes. The server was quite talkative. Food was good. Please expect to see a full tray of real cake samples when you order dessert. read more

I ordered the Spinach, Arugula and Quinoa Salad. It was extremely underwhelming. The toppings listed on the menu are goat cheese, figs, tomato, almonds, and a citrus balsamic. I'd say the salad is 98& spinach. The amount of toppings looks more like what would be leftover from a salad you ate earlier. I was expecting large creamy lumps of goat cheese but it was topped with very few and very small crumbles. The quinoa was tossed in with the leaves, I'd say there was probably 1/6th of a cup of quinoa. The almonds and figs were also lacking. The very few figs were shriveled up and the chopped almonds were also almost unnoticeable in the salad. Luckily I opted to add shrimp to the salad and the free bread was delicious. I do not recommend ordering this salad. The pasta dishes looked decent-but nothing special. read more

Service was quite good, especially considering the problems of Covid. Meatballs and Risotto, and Lasagna were excellent!!!

We arrived at precisely our reservation time of 6:15, yet were asked to stand in a small space by the restaurant door until our other party arrived. Never acceptable. Our waiter was prompt to take and deliver our drink orders, but seemed then to forget us. Fifteen minutes later, he walked by and seemed to suddenly remember our presence. After that, he was prompt. The price of the food was fair but so was the quality. We had seared ahi bites for appetizers and all 4 of us had a chicken dish. read more

Went to this restaurant three times in one week. Service is excellent. Just like an old school Italian steakhouse should taste. I suggest the Duck, filet, or veal chop. My strip was not my favorite but decent quality. Escargot was probably the best I had in years. The location is not easily seen from the street but go up the escalator and you will find it. Great for celebrations or business meetings. read more

Food was good but the service was a disaster - from the hostess to the waitress, it was a very poor experience. Would not recommend.

The worst service of my life! And I promise I'm not just saying that, I never write reviews but the service here was that bad. The food was ok, the people, the Manager/owner has really horrible customer service snd they didn't make sense. We asked why we were charged full price for our drinks if we were here for happy hour, the server said, sorry not on game nights. I said that was not stated to us and that the sign outside says in large print happy hour from 4-6p and in no area does it say not on game nights, when I asked the "Assistant Manager" to show me he said it was outside and pointed at a wall with menus and other small print papers on it, and he laugh at us. Even the owner/manger, she was so cold, no people skills, she didn't care enough to excuse herself, she simply walked away. Horrible service! I don't know if they're racist or just Jerks. Will never be back, you shouldn't either, they deceive their customers and treat them like dirt! read more

Overpriced mediocre meal. Service was good but the food was not worth the price.

Went there for a girls night last night- it was exceptional- the food, the service, the atmosphere all wonderful. Would highly recommend

This was the highlight of all the places we ate during our conference! We tried to go back, but couldn't make it work for our schedules. First class all the way! read more

Excellent stuffed mushrooms! Get the bread to scoop up all the sauce. Also must try the chocolate toffee "cake", more like mousse. So delicious. read more

I'm giving it two stars because the food was good. Service was mediocre to say the least and server rolled her eyes when asked for refills on water and cocktails. She came to the table twice. The bathroom is a disaster both times I was in there. If you're going to spend this kind of money you should get this kind of service and you're not going to get it here. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THE STEAKS AT THIS RESTAURANT!!!! FEMALE OWNER IS RUDE AND OFFENSIVE!!!! Food ordered - Ribeye steaks (flavorless, hard to chew thru, very low quality) - Filet mignon (flavorless, and overcooked) - Calamari (nicely prepared, dipping sauce was good) - Caesar salad (decent with 4 small pieces of croutons) We came here Tuesday night at 7:30pm and the restaurant was empty. We had a bad feeling already because how could a nice steakhouse have no customers inside. There was probably 2 other tables and they were finishing up when we walked in. We ordered a bottle of cabernet and appetizers. Calamari was good as well as the caesar salad. Onto the disaster. We ordered 3 ribeyes and 1 filet mignon steaks, cooked medium rare. The filet was overcooked medium well to well done. The ribeye was cooked medium rare. Both filet mignon and ribeye steaks were flavorless and hard to chew thru. There was nothing tender about the steaks. Our party was surprised at the quality of the steaks for such a steep price. When we pay close to $50 for a ribeye, we expect it to have some good marbling. In comparison, Denny's steak and eggs were probably better. I'm not sure why the owner would proudly serve Certified Piedmontese steaks when most people on yelp left negative reviews about the steaks. Hopefully this review will change where they are sourcing their steaks as it would help boost their business. Can't call themselves a steakhouse if they are serving bad quality steaks. Lastly, no paying customers likes to receive rude/offensive service when giving constructive feedback that would help their business. Our male server was very nice and professional but the female owner was rude and offensive and she didn't like the negative feedback we were giving her. She snapped at us and took our plates away. I do have to mention she did the right thing by taking the steaks off the bill but we ended up paying for everything else we ordered. Walked out disappointed, unhappy, and starving. read more

We made reservations for our anniversary dinner. Overall, it was a great experience. I had the Sea Bass and it was cooked perfectly--it fell apart when I cut it with my fork. This place has a very nice atmosphere and has outdoor seating. We had a friendly greeting and attentive waiter. There was a group of 5 - the food ordered was gnocchi with veal meatballs in Alfredo sauce(light on sauce), cannoli - 1) marina & 1 Alfredo, lasagna and one of the specials - all the meals were tasty. The wedge salad and Caesar salad were tasty too. The house wine you can't go wrong. The chairs were very comfortable! read more

Visited Mancuso's for the first time today. We asked for a 6 pm reservation and were told it was not available because all tables were taken. So we agreed to a 4:30 reservation. Well we are here at 6 pm and 50% tables are available. The food was very good, we had paella and lobster, seafood fradiavlo. We also had stuffed mushrooms and crab stack... very good We will be coming back for a second try. I was expecting more from the service at the table and my cocktail vodka club soda was flat. We may have just been there at an off shift. I don't want to be overly critical considering this is my first experience here. The price of our bill was high considering the average service read more

Mancuso's is the place to go when you want a hearty drink of wine and a sumptuous bit of their veal chop!! Simply an amazing and eye-rolling experience. This place just turned my wife and I away saying they were booked solid with reservations. It was 5:30 and they were empty. The hostess needs to be trained in manners. Sorry I never do this but we were very upset. I am here for a conference and am spending a considerable amount of money in this town and this place seriously upset me. Otherwise I really have enjoyed Phoenix and the greater Arizona read more

Wow just wow. If I could give this establishment 10 stars, trust I would. The patio where my group of 4 dined overlooked beautiful downtown Phoenix. Such a lovely restaurant. Very impressed at the beauty alone of the restaurant. The food, tho, is in a class of its own. The stuffed mushrooms were everything. The complimentary garlic bread they serve fresh goes great to dip it in the extra cheese and Alfredo sauce left on the bottom of the container. I ordered the Osso Bucco, not a morsel of food left over. My co diners were blown away by the dill sauce over the salmon, which was perfectly cooked. The presentations of each dish were magnificently put together. Our server Neil was efficient and knowledgeable of the menu. The support staff was excellent and WE highly recommend Mancuso's. Thank you read more

We were pleased that Mancuso's turned out to be a good central meeting place on the 2nd floor of a downtown bank building (they stamp the underground parking for 2 hours). Our family party of 10 arrived for an early reservation prior to an airport run. We were the first customers of the day so it was a surprise that they were not ready for our 4pm reservation, and then further baffled at the negative and hardly welcoming attitude of the hostess. This woman was snippy with several in our party both in the beginning and as we were leaving, enough that we looked at each other and wondered "what the heck?" as clearly this gal was misplaced in a hostess role. Once at our table, the food was great, everyone in our party was pleased, and the service was attentive. If they can coach or replace at the hostess stand, we recommend Mancuso's. read more

Worst service EVER!!! Waited 30 minutes at the bar for second round of drinks we ordered to go with our dinner. Nobody acknowledged our existence. Once we finally got an employee, he said he would take care of it. Only to return and state the bartender "would prefer we just close out our tab because he was too busy." When we talked to the manager she simply walked away without any response. Paid our tab and left. Will not be back ever! read more

This is without question the go to Italian restaurant in Phoenix. I have been here several times a year for the past four years and it is consistently perfect. The wine selection is exceptional, the food is great, and the staff is fully engaged to make sure you enjoy your experience. My favorite dishes are the tortellini panna as a small plate and veal marsala, but you can't go wrong. Ask to be seated in Aaron's section, a true professional. read more

Covid has cut the quality on a lot of places and prices have raised so I was weary of this place. I can say that is not the case here. Thank you for not sacrificing quality even during these tough times. read more

My organization had a reception at Mancuso's in November 2018 and it was a great party! The food was very good and the cocktails were delicious! The manager in charge in that day (Bon's sister) was a pleasure to work with. When we realized we had about twice as many guests as we had planned for she organized for more food to be cooked and served in a very timely manner. She really seemed to care about the well being of the guests and was very good at informing us about the current tab on the open bar. We were told by a lot of people that this was the best party of the conference! read more

Food was delicious and our waiter Neal was phenomenal. We certainly did not think we would end up eating Italian in Phoenix but we were so glad that we came upon this place as it was close to our hotel. The atmosphere is wonderful. Mancuso's Restaurant - Linguini and Clams Pasta Dinner (white wine sauce) - Italian Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

I like the ambiance of this place. It use to be another restaurant I liked that one too. But I went to Mancuso's for happy hour I ordered the meatballs and risotto. The meatballs had no texture to them they were bland and soggish (I know that's not a word) but the risotto was so delicious but he took it away when I re-ordered the lasagna. OMG the lasagna was so so cheesy and great it was $8 and worth it. I ordered a couple of drinks then walked to the Sun's game. I can't wait to go back yummy! read more

Don't even try to come to this place. We had a Dwayne that took our order, after 1.5 hrs, after we asked him for our meal every 30 mins and after anybody already ate at the restaurant. This Waiter came to say "we may give you guys a free Desert because the wait". It was our Anniversary and after 1.45 hrs Manager came to say "Sorry bla bla bla, they still cooking but if you want I can give you to go the meal and we will not charge you". We never came to get anything free, totally mess place. Manager blame Waiter saying "he didn't press Enter that is why Order never went". That is NOT true since we asked the Waiter each 30 mins what is going on. Never again, totally mess place read more

Wow. This place blew my mind. From the second you walked in the door until the second we laughed we felt like family. Everyone was very friendly and clearly appreciated the business. We sat in the bar area which is comfortable but also very classy with the decor. I think this would be a perfect place for graduation dinner or a rehearsal dinner or maybe an event for business. We had the bruschetta and the stuffed mushrooms. The bruschetta was simple and fresh with just a drizzle of balsamic which was delicious. The mushrooms had a rich cheesy cream sauce with them and we're cooked perfectly. I had the Bolognese and it will definitely be about three meals worth of food. My friend got the beet salad with chicken and she said it was one of the best she had had. Another friend had the lasagna and it was about as big as his head and he loved it. And then another friend had the veal parmesan and she said it was delicious. this place is a little bit hidden but definitely worth it. It has a beautiful outside patio and the inside is extremely clean and comfortable. I definitely would recommend you check this place out. They have a bar that you can pop in and grab dinner and a glass of wine while watching the news or some sports. Or you can sit in the lounge area or in the restaurant area. We recently had a wonderful dining experience at Mancusos. Our server was outstanding very personable. The meat balls and polenta was done perfectly..and their lobster ' cioppino' was one of the best I've ever had...even better than Scoma's of San Francisco.
