Malama really saved me ! Jane from the office was so helpful and the movers were so fast and professional and very good price . I wasn't told I had to reserve an elevator and my stuff was in a container from Maui so Malama moved it into their storage for minimum change of 85$ and was able to move it the next day in the afternoon. I would have been screwed with out them !!! Property manager should have told me to reserve cost extra 500$ but with out Malama the situation would have been way worse ! Very professional even took off their shoes to move the furniture inside which could put them at risk. So respectful and all stuff moved professional and handled with care . Please choose them if you need a mover - thank you Jane and moving crew you guys rock ! read more

We had a great experience with Mālama Moving. For starters, communication was quick and efficient. Answered all my questions, got me a quote real quick, and laid everything out for what to expect with respect to fees, service, etc ... The move team was three people. Came on time, super polite, worked hard. In fact, 5 hour move, took no breaks, except when we offered them some drinks. And even then, the break was brief before they got back to work. Cleaned up after themselves, and left no dings on the wall. I hate moving, but if I have to do it again, we'll be calling Mālama Moving again. read more

I needed a heavy crate picked up from ABF Freight to my home. Jane was very professional and courteous when I called to make an appointment. Fantastic from hello to goodbye. Moved from town to Kailua. Kona, Sefa and Lala were exceptional movers! I can't recommend them and Malama enough. Moved a 2 bed 2 bath. They took very good care of my items and in particular an antique chair that is one of a kind. Not only were they great but the cost was also reasonable. Quality, customer service, efficiency and much Aloha! read more

Update: Sefa, Kona, and Hutch from MALAMA Moving did a great job again! They assembled two heavy adjustable beds and moved multiple mattresses and items for disposal--in one hour. Note: disposal and labor are charged separately. Despite no stairs, the job was substantial. The team was friendly, efficient, and hassle-free! read more

Malama Moving - Mahalo Sefa, Kona, Huch! - Movers Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

This review is long overdue. We did our homework, called a few movers for quotes and settled on Mālama Moving. From their initial dispatch call to their prompt arrival, they were genuine, professional and respectful of our property. Kona, Ryan and Hutch helped us move 80 boxes and furniture in a timely and efficient manner, mindful of the new floors in our new condo and just pleasant to work with. They seem to enjoy their work and value their teammates. Highly recommended their services. read more

Everything from communication leading up to the move and the delivery of the last piece was great. Jane answered all my questions on the phone, and the team of Koa, Landon, and Liko took great care in moving my things. They also made sure that my door would not get scratched and they laid padding on the floor. They started out really fast, but then as the move went on, the pace got a little slow and the move ended up taking a lot longer than what was quoted. However, I prefer slow and careful over fast and careless. Not a single thing was damaged, including a 300 pound all glass cabinet. Part of the reason the move took long was I have a lot of smaller furniture, and they took the time to wrap things very carefully with blankets and shrink wrap. The crew was very easy to work with and would definitely recommend using them. read more

Called many different companies who didn't want to move a single piece of furniture but Malama moving was willing to at a great price and did it within a 1 day notice! Even helped me unbox my item and throw away all the packaging read more

Malama Moving - Movers Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

I will start this way, in 2023 I moved from a 1340 sq ft home to a 950 sq ft home using Honolulu Movers. TWO workers (2) took 2 hours to move me from one place to the other. Last month I moved from that home (950 sq ft) to a 425 sq. ft. studio. It took Malama Movers four (4) men and 3 hours. I was charged over $600 + I tipped $120. It seemed that the two younger boys did all the work while the other 2 loaded and stood around. When they arrived at my new residence, the same two boys moved everything from the elevator lobby up to the ninth floor and down the hall to my new place. The other two just unloaded and trucked my things to the lobby and nothing else. I have a big problem with being charged that extra hour. If they had worked together AS A TEAM, it would have saved me $200. There's also a mystery charge of $30 in the "BOX" section I can't account for bc everything was boxed up and I had my own extra boxes available. It's incredible to me that 4 men took 3 hours to move me into a studio less than 3 miles from where I lived. I wish I had tipped the two younger boys more bc they worked really hard! Be careful and wary of what each mover is doing. My feeling is that this was a way to add that extra hour to my billing and I want that money refunded. I wish that I was smart enough to remember who I used last time through my Yelp review. It would have literally saved me $220 plus tax. The office staff and the movers at Malama were pleasant, no complaints about that. I just feel that I'm owed for the extra hour they managed to cheat me out of. If you're moving, please consider Honolulu Movers. read more

Great communication and nice people to work with! Got a couch moved across island and all went well! Thanks so much!

Quick, efficient and friendly. Experienced in big condo moves. I highly recommend them for stress free moves

First off, let me start by saying that this was my first time hiring movers, and I could not have been more satisfied with the level of customer service and care I've received from start to finish with Malama Moving... When I first reached out a few weeks ago to several moving companies through Yelp, Jayne with Malama Moving was the first to respond. On top of that, their quote was the BEST out of the others that were given. After reaching out to and wanting to schedule, she made the appointment process easy and quick. I simply took pictures of the items that needed to be moved, which was an entire bedroom set and my personal belongings, and described the moving process. I explain to her that I lived in a three story walk up and was moving to another three story walk up, and she assured that it wouldn't be a problem; and they definitely came through for me. Prior to my scheduled day of the move I was given a courtesy call to let me know that the morning time slot was available and that the movers would arrive at 8:30am, which really helped me to plan for the move the morning of. On the day of the move, I was met with Kirk, Elgene, and Issac, who showed up on time and all of them ready to work; ALL of them very professional and patient throughout the entire moving out process. Kirk even ensured that the landlord I was renting from was satisfied with the condition of the room once everything had been removed, and even offered to take large furniture items out to the trash area without hesitation or complaint. Upon arriving to my new apartment. The guys all worked quickly and efficiently to move everything up four flights of stairs to my new apartment. Everything was moved with care and attention, and more impressively was the teamwork and communication these guys showed, it really speaks to the commitment they have to the company, the job itself, and especially to the customers they serve. I hope that by sharing my amazing experience, that those reading this will also get to experience the same level of service and care that I received from this amazing team. Shout out to everyone there, and A BIG MAHALO again to Jayne for setting it up and Kirk and the guys that came out and helped! Much appreciated Take care, and God bless! read more

Asked the right questions. Good pricing. They sent more trucks than I thought could fit. They made it work.

3-man crew led by Albert, Koa and Ryan held it down! Guys came on time, were very friendly and professional. Handled our belongings with care and were very efficient in their work. Highly Recommend!!! Will definitely use again! Mahalo Malama Moving! read more

Malama Moving - Guys got it down! - Movers Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

These were the easiest and most professional movers I've had in a while. Isaiah and Kona were the two gentlemen who did all the heavy lifting. Not a scratch or an issue. And they waited until I viewed where they had placed the item to see if I was satisfied. When I asked them to move it, they had no problem and were really nice about it. Also, I like when people are appreciative the tips. And they were. read more

I had Lala, Kirk and Ryan help me stage my listing. They were on time (10 mins early unlike other movers I have used over the years), fast, careful and they did a great job! Jane, the office gal is also very quick to respond! Thank you so much Malama team! read more

The team that conducted my move was Ryan, Kirk, and Brandon. Three very professional and kind individuals!! My furniture was located in storage so first they had to remove the things I wanted to take and then put back everything I didn't. Then I moved to a condo on the 17th floor (with an elevator) but this was no easy task. This team did an awesome job and I still came in under what I budget for the move!! Great customer service, excellent price, and professional work!! Can't ask for any thing else!! Thank you Ryan, Kirk, and Brandon!! read more

Kirk and his crew were awesome! Difficult job involving stairs and a few heavy items. Guys had great attitudes, worked very efficiently and made everything super easy. I've used other moving companies on Oahu with higher rates and much worse service and communication, at $250/hr this company is great. A true 5 star business on island. Aloha! read more

Great customer service. They called said they were in area, was available to come up sofa early.

I reached out on Yelp for moving quotes and Malama Moving was one of the first to respond. They had good reviews so I felt this would hopefully be my experience as well. They were so fast in responses to questions and even when I needed to change the date last minute they were extremely accommodating. On moving day Avery, Brandon and Koa showed up and were very patient as we figured out a very tricky parking situation at my building. After we got that all settled in they were lightning fast with the move and very thorough in wrapping and securing all my things. Plus, the price was perfect! I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone moving around on island and have already told my friends about my amazing experience with them. Kona and his crew were amazing. They helped with a PODS move off island for a three bedroom house. They came on time, worked efficiently, politely, and quickly. Some were even singing with the music we had playing. Kona packed the PODS tight and made sure to prevent the door from getting stuck. The price was fair. I highly recommend Malama Moving. read more

Horrible, dishonest company! They stole multiple items from my move, including a portable A/C, and very expensive tools that belonged to my ex, that I am now having to pay him for. I caught them red handed stealing the A/C, I have proof that they admitted to stealing it, and yes, they did return it- days later after I noticed it was missing!!! WTF! As a single working mom, this has been a burden financially. I emailed and left a message to return the items that were stolen..to no avail. Fine, RICO and a police report are to come. DO NOT TRUST THESE THIEVES! read more

This is the best moving company on Island. I had a big move and had so much stuff that I needed them to come back come back for a second round at the end of the week. The whole team of Albert, Ryan, and Isaiah were excellent, each of them were so helpful and kind and really took care of my stuff. I was especially grateful to Albert who helped me pack and made sure that I wouldn't have anything to worry about. I don't know what I would've done without him, he's a lifesaver! Malama Movers were recommended by a family member that has used their services before. I requested a quote on Yelp and was contacted by Jayne who assisted me with scheduling. She made the process super easy. Jayne contacted me a couple of days before the move to confirm. On the day of the move Kona and his team (Hutch and Curtis) came in and wasted no time! They worked quickly and efficiently ensuring my furniture was handled with care. I appreciate that they shrink wrapped everything. They also protected certain pieces with moving blankets. The entire process was made the whole move so much easier and stress free! I also liked that this company is not price gauging for their services. Great affordable cost!
