    Spring rolls with peanut sauce
    Jana B.

We were seated immediately. We ordered an Austin Amber beer ($5) which my husband enjoyed. Our spring rolls were fresh and served with a tasty peanut sauce. My Pad Ga Prao (P8 -$14) was a ground chicken and mushrooms in a flavorful sauce. Pork Thai Dumplings (P13 - $16) was our other entree and it was a bit spicier. Service was prompt and friendly. I should come here more often!

Ordered delivery from here and wow -- hands down some of the best Thai food I've ever had. The food arrived piping hot, and I was shocked that the spring rolls were still perfectly crispy (a first for me with delivery!). Every dish was packed with flavor, seasoned beautifully, and tasted so fresh. Can't wait to order from here again soon!

We visited on Monday (President's Day), and it was clear they hadn't anticipated the lunch rush--there were only two servers for the entire restaurant. We requested water three times and never received any. I ordered a mimosa but was served a pomegranate one instead. When I mentioned it wasn't what I wanted, the server explained they were out of orange juice and had given me the pomegranate version (which cost an extra dollar) without asking. I would've preferred just champagne. My boyfriend ordered coconut water, but they were out, so he ended up with a Lemongrass Ginger tea, which was very good. The food took over 30 minutes to arrive, and the gyozas were cold when they came out, so we sent them back. My beef curry was tasty, and my boyfriend liked his salad. However, the service was rough--tables around us had similar issues. The neighboring table had to ask for their check twice, and everyone, including us, had to grab their own to-go boxes and silverware from the server station. I'll chalk this up to a holiday staffing issue, but next time we crave Madam Mam's, we'll stick to takeout.

lack of flavor and a little overpriced. Tex mex of Asian cuisine. The dresser was good though although they sent it out very unattractive

My friend from out of town and I went for an early dinner, so it wasn't super busy. Service was good as always. We ordered numerous things from the menu. I always seem to get the same thing so I was exploring more of the menu and still got my favorite soup Tom Kha. That was a given but for a soup, it's priced like an entree. The portions this time were a lot better than what I remember. Definitely bigger than what I've had at the Anderson location. The Thai tea was amazing. Pit server couldn't say what kind of tea it was but to me it had an earl grey type flavor of bergamot. We sampled a couple types of wings and the seasoning was just the right amount of spice. The green papaya salad cover been better as the flavors hadn't marinated enough to blend with the papaya. The sweet rice dish was the best my friend had ever tasted. That was her salad. LOL and loved every bite. Free parking as it's in a shopping center next to other restaurants and shops and around d the corner from Randall's.

Delicious food. Love the shrimp satay. Great fried rice. Excellent service. Quick and very clean. Music not too loud. Definitely going back

I've never been to any of these locations but there was parking!!! You know it's hard to go wrong when there's parking. I loved how clean everything was and the service was great. I had the salad with sliced beef and it was so good! Very simple, clean ingredients and the dressing was delicious. If you eat the red peppers in the dressing, it will be extremely hot but if you strain them out, it's the perfect amount of mild heat. All the food tasted fresh and hot. The hot tea was a bonus. It was sunset and when the sun was in my face, we lowered the sun shades. Next time I'll try dessert.

Drunken noodles (minus a few bites)

This place never disappoints!!! We started with an order of the Thai Gyoza - I think there was 5 or 6 per order. They were fried to perfection and very tasty! Then we shared the drunken noodles and Pad Prik Gang with Shrimp (special curry). This had a spice rating of 4 and it was spicy but still had great flavor! The drunken noodles had a rating of 3 and had a kick but not too much. Whether we dine in, order out, or delivery.. I'm never disappointed!

I've been a long time fan of madam Mams, one of my favorite spots actually. So you can imagine how disturbed and disappointed I was to discover a literal NAIL in my food. The manager Nancy was very kind when I let her know, but regardless this is unacceptable.

A VERY solid spot for GOOD Thai food! I tried: Spicy basil fried rice chicken ($14) Bankrupt Noodle tofu (13.50) Drunken noodle (flat, beef) (14.50) Thai egg explosion ground beef (16.50) 5 piece bone in wings larb ($10) Chicken satay ($10) Thai tea $5.50 Food: 4.8 / 5 - There's SO many choices for authentic Thai food! Service: 5 / 5 - Service was good! Easy to talk to workers and made me feel like home Cleanliness: 5 / 5 - The whole area was squeaky clean, even the bathroom! Parking: 4.9 / 5 - Not terrible but at peaks time, it might be hard. We went at 7pm during their soft opening week and parking was a bit tough but doable! Price: 4.9 / 5 - I think this is priced PERFECTLY. Everything now is $15 but Monday, Tuesday AND Wednesday KIDS eat FREE ALL DAY! They even have a good happy and lunch hour!

    Number 18 special beef curry
    Danielle D.

We've eaten here 3x in the past few months and while some of our food has been meh at best (the pad Thai was really disappointing) the number p42 special curry is what gets this a 5* Our first time here we dined in and I was super bummed when they didn't have the papaya salad available. I settled for the Tom yam soup and it was good - serving was massive. My husband got the #p41 special beef curry and we haven't looked back since. This curry is honestly delicious. HUGE serving (honestly enough for both of us plus a lunch serving as long as you get an extra side of jasmine rice). Thick, delicious coconut base- amazing spices. Honestly, the perfect comfort meal for these cold days. It doesn't look super appetizing especially when delivered but again, if you're into thick, well-spiced, coconut based curries this is a huge win!

After landing in San Antonio yesterday to kick off my summer vacation, the very first thing I did…read moretoday was ask my friend to bring me back to this restaurant. The reason is simple: we ate here two years ago, and it left such a great impression on us that we had been looking forward to coming back ever since. Fortunately, not much has changed in terms of either the quality or the overall presentation of the food. Everything is still delicious, especially the Pho Combo. To be honest, it's far better than most of the pho we've had in Germany. That doesn't mean the pho in Germany is bad--it simply means this place matches my personal taste much better. As for the downsides, they're almost exactly the same as before. Parking is still a major challenge, and I understand that's probably not something the restaurant can easily fix. We also tried calling ahead to reserve a table, but they don't take reservations, whether you're coming with a group of 5-7 people or just 2-3 people. We arrived at 6:45 PM and still had to wait about 40 minutes before being seated, which was honestly quite inconvenient. Coincidentally, there was live music tonight, which was a nice surprise. Unfortunately, the sound system wasn't very good, so it was difficult to hear what the singers were performing. Then again, this isn't really the type of venue where people come specifically to enjoy live music, so most diners didn't seem to pay much attention to it. One thing I did notice was that either the kitchen has made a few changes over the past two years, or perhaps my own taste has changed a little. The food felt slightly saltier than I remembered, and the pho broth was richer and creamier. While that added some depth of flavor, it was a bit too rich for my liking, to the point where finishing the entire bowl of broth felt a little overwhelming. The braised short ribs were incredibly tender--so tender that a knife was almost unnecessary, and they could easily be pulled apart with just a fork. While many people would probably see that as a positive, I actually missed the slightly firmer, meatier texture I remembered from my last visit. That said, these are relatively minor issues. The quality may have dipped just a little compared to our previous visit, but this is still an excellent restaurant. If they can fine-tune those small details, it would easily return to being one of my favorite places. There's a good chance we'll stop by one more time before heading back to Germany.

Is it that time of year for another 1618 update? Absolutely…read more After my umpteenth visit, I think it's safe to say I've worked my way through almost the entire menu (minus a few noodle, chicken & vegetarian dishes). My 2025 review still stands, but after so many visits, I've noticed a few items haven't been good as they used to, particularly the chicken wings (and yes, all three of them). The Garlic Wings haven't been hitting quite the same. They've started to taste a little dry, and the saucier wings taste better the next day since they don't have time to steep through once served. The Filet Mignon Pepper Steak is still my favorite dish on the menu, but I still can't justify ordering it family-style anymore. It's delicious, but the portion just doesn't match the price. One of the newest additions--the Truffle Fried Rice is spectacular. It's light, not overpowering with truffle, and the fish eggs really adds the perfect little pop of texture/flavor. I don't think I breathed the entire time I scarfed it down!! 1618 is still one of my favorite restaurants in Austin of all time, but I think it's time for the menu to elevate a bit and dive deeper into less mainstream Asian cuisine. If anyone can do it, 1618 can.

The restaurant itself has a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a bar. It seems like a nice place to have a meal. As for the food, we ordered: Pad thai with chicken, mild spice - unfortunately this was a bit dry for me, though the taste was good. Pad see ew with chicken - I liked their version and would probably get it again. Pad woon sen with pork - typically my favorite noodle dish and I think they did a good job. Garden roll - good but not as packed as others I've had, and at a higher price point. Pineapple fried rice with pork - I liked this but was a bit on the oily side. Tom kha soup - I thought this was very good and had a decent amount of chicken and mushrooms Overall I liked everything but some items I felt I had better versions of elsewhere. It's also on the pricier side. Still, if in central Austin I think it's a solid choice for Thai food.

There were so many new dishes that caught my eye, but I immediately gravitated toward the Creamy Crab Curry and it was absolutely the right choice. The curry was rich, creamy and packed with flavor while the fried soft-shell crab was perfectly cooked and added a great texture to the dish. Honestly, it's the kind of meal I could see myself ordering every week. My partner went with the Lost Recipe, which looked just as delicious. You can never really go wrong with fried chicken, and this version certainly didn't disappoint. The service was equally impressive. Our server was friendly, attentive and checked in regularly throughout the meal. She even brought us a complimentary crab pastry to try, which was a thoughtful touch and much appreciated. One thing to note this place gets busy, especially during lunch so plan accordingly. That said, the food and service are well worth it and the menu is reasonably priced. Kiin Di has successfully made the jump from food truck to full-service restaurant and it's definitely earned a spot on my regular rotation.
