We went to the children's department, juniors, and the area with INC. Items not bad, but thrown all over; the store looks very messy, at least in the children's department. And a lot of the classy stuff at Macy's is gone. Staff not friendly or approachable. Not only are their registers located in random spots throughout the store, they only have single cashiers at each one. The line is equally long at each one, and takes about 5-10 minutes for each customer to purchase their items due to the inefficient, slow service provided by the employees. There is no sense of consideration or overall attempt of customer satisfaction. It is a free for all with unorganized racks of clothes, misplaced items and inconsistent pricing. I can see why this Macy's has such horrible reviews and ratings. It's the closest Macy's and I really tried to like this one but today's experience just proved every negative reviews they are getting. I ordered 3 purses online. I go to "order pick up" line and it is ridiculously long. I asked them if this was really the line for pick up and they told me this was the line for EVERYTHING as they literally laughed in my face. Waited in line for 30 minutes. Once I get to the register I still waited another 5 minutes for them to bring the items down. They brought me a plastic bag with 3 Micheal Kors $200 purses shoved into them. They don't even offer me any boxes and when I asked they told me to go upstairs LOL! So I went upstairs and they tell me that these $200 purses don't come with any special boxes or bags. How classy I get to gift these purses in plastic bags. Other than the bad service I got today, this Macy's don't have much of a variety and I usually leave the store with nothing when I go to look for things unless you want expensive purses in plastic bags lol read more

I thought this was a place that would be so much better managed and handled than it was today. For starters, this store is in such disarray. Management doesn't at all seem bothered by the fact that this store has gone to hell and is looking worse than stores like Ross and TJ Maxx after they've been heavily shopped. Clothes that should be in the men's department are sitting in various parts of the women's department and everywhere else. Women's items are strewn across shoes displays because there aren't any employees to help ring people up. All the fitting rooms are closed and unavailable. Go-backs are never ending. The women's departments were terribly understaffed. I went to the fragrance department on the 2nd floor nearest the entrance/exit to be rung up for a single item purchase. The sales associate, Alice, has got to be the most reluctant sales associate I've come across in a long time. I was 110% covid compliant as far as my being a customer. I asked if she could ring me up, which apparently she could do. Instead, she made the suggestion that I go to the customer service desk. Where she'd pointed, there were no sales associates there. She pointed at an empty desk. "Umm?!? I had to tell her, in disbelief, there isn't anyone there, couldn't you ring me up?!?!" She gasped and said, "I guess I can. Just one item right?" My goodness. Who in the world is this lady? She doesn't want to make a sale? I noticed that one customer began to walk by the display just behind me and right away she jumped all over them with a rather accusatory tone. She said, "please don't touch the display. Did you want to buy that? Is there something I can help you with?" I was growing more and more upset with this associate. Not only had she not completed my transaction before jumping on these new customers but she was not at all helpful or attentive. I went into the fashion jewelry area of the store and I was faced with the same problem. There weren't any associates to help me or check pricing. I wasn't able to ask questions about a variety of products that I found myself being interested in. I just wasn't able to find the customer service that I needed. I was looking for junior's dresses but the few people that I'd found to ask about them had no clue. One gentleman said that he didn't know where they would be. He said that they'd be mixed in. Geez that is terrible. Let's just say, there aren't any associates who could answer my questions, ring me up for the simplest purchases, or help me find entire departments. Sheesh. I can honestly say that I will not be shopping here any time soon. With fitting rooms closed, I don't see why there are so many go-backs laying around all the time. I recently shopped here with my partner and some of her family, and we were treated extremely disrespectfully by one of their employees. We were "assisted", if you could call it that, by a JUDY who pressured us to open a credit card with Macy's. She misinformed us about the card and continuously reassured us it would not open a credit line nor would it have any impact on her credit, while holding her hand into our faces saying that she told us multiple times it would have no effect on our credit. She later backpedaled on her statement saying "you can't get anything without sacrificing some credit", as soon as we found out we were opening a new credit card we opened. She claimed that the only way to cancel it was to complete the application and to cancel it by calling Macy's, which we eventually did. We even heard her speaking on the phone, asking if it got approved and if she received a money ticket. In addition to all of this, she almost lost my girlfriend's driver license. My partner asked for her license back, but Judy responded by saying she already gave it to us. I had to point out her license was next to the register buried under a few products. I'm not only dissatisfied, but infuriated with how disrespectful and irresponsible she was and the misinformation she gave us. Don't be a victim of Judy. Your credit could be at stake. read more

It smells gross (with the mask on mind you) toilets are nasty and toilet paper everywhere. Some stalls don't even lock. Came here yesterday because my watch stopped working. If that happens they have to ship it over t their repair department to see if it's damaged or if you need a new battery. You get one free battery but if it's damaged you have to pay for the repairs. The lady was very nice but I think she was new. She was asking other people for help and they were all giving her attitude. Honestly they should not turn on the watch and sell it like that.... who knows how long the watch has been there. Located at Glendale Galleria, came here on New Year's Day with my mom. She was particularly looking for cashmere sweaters in petite size. According to my mom, it seems that only the South Coast Plaza location is the only Macy's around that seems to sell cashmere sweaters in petite around Thanksgiving/ Christmas. Sadly she has not been able to find it at any other location (including this location and Santa Anita). Anyways, I came here with my mom and we looked at the sales and clearance items in the petite section and the shoe section. I thought it was interesting how the shoes department was organized. If you want to try on a shoe in your specific size, you have to ask a sales associate to help bring you one. And then that sales associate will enter in that information in a portable tablet, then you are placed on a waiting list and will have to wait until it is your turn when someone brings out your shoe(s). It is best to request more than one shoe/ size so that you do not have to request for another (and if you do, you will have to be placed on that waiting list again). After my mom went through the process of requesting 2 pairs of shoes (she regretted not ordering 2 sizes per pair), we waited a little while until an employee called out her name and brought out her shoes to try. Unfortunately my mom left empty handed because she did not want to wait longer to get a smaller pair to try. On this particular day, the shoe department was rather busy. They were also currently selling their floor model shoes at a large discount (I am not a fan of buying a pair of shoes that everyone had tried on... totally gross! Not everyone showers on a regular basis it seems like). Anyways, this Macy's location was okay. But my mom probably won't be coming back here. I guess I will just have to drive her to Costa Mesa a few more times this coming year since their petite department has more selections. read more

I always have a problem at the returns department at this location. The rep Daniella very rude and opinionated and kept on hiding my return. I originally lost my receipt and I know that they can give me store credit but she declined. I explained multiple times that it is possible and finally after me telling her many times she did it. In mean time she was opinionated and telling me that she wouldn't do it. I had more returns. The other problem is that they are not returning my items the same payment method that I used. For this item, I had my receipt and everything. I paid with PayPal and they will not return it unless I get store credit. This has to be ridiculous and unethical and had to be violating consumer cards policies. read more

He saw I was frustrated and approached me offering to do a match for my foundation since it is difficult for my yellow toned skin to match ANYTHING. Throughout its slow decline of popularity, i feel the only spot in macy's that still lives up to the hype is the cologne/perfume section. It all started as a weird coincidence meeting , Angie (Tita Angie), a while ago when she helped us with our purchase of perfume. She was so accommodating and hospitable that she became family. We've known her for about 15 years and she's the only reason why we keep coming back. Whether it be Christmas or birthdays, we go to her for presents. This Macy's was average. It had a fairly good selection of clothing compared to others I've been to, especially women's dresses, but it really needs to be remodeled and cleaned. I shop here often because it's across the street from my work but I never get the best service, the cashiers treat you like they hate their job and they are taking it out on the customer. I always greet people with a smile and they make no effort to be pleasant. Today especially, the cashier in housewares was straight up rude. I went to Macy's In Glendale Galleria yesterday to return a sweater I had ordered online. It had been about 36 days since I ordered it. It was snug on me so decided to take it back, but I had gotten sick for a couple of weeks and could not leave my house. When I got to the register on the 2nd floor Anita was there and she said that the policy states to return is 30 days and she could not take it back, I explained the situation how I had gotten sick and her reply was, "you should have someone else return it for you". I couldn't believe her reply, so I asked her to call the Manager to see if she can assist, she called her Manager who's name was Harriet. Anita explained the situation to her and Harriet replied that was the policy. I asked Anita to please ask Harriet to come down so I can speak to her directly and Harriet refused and hung up. I couldn't believe it. Anita basically told me there isn't anything they can do. Now being a Director of a business and working form Macy's many moons ago, I know there are circumstances where you can make the exchange. It is within your power. But, Harriet is such a disgrace to that job description. I understand there are policies, but there is also respect and integrity you give to your customers. Macy's needs to really review or streamline the process they have in place for hiring their employees. I have never been so insulted and let down by a company. I was looking around at the selection and another "customer service rep" came to "help". I needed to try on several shoes so I gave her the sizes and she too, had a HORRIBLE attitude. Why would I want to buy from you if you're treating me like crap?? Sorry I'm bothering you?? It's your job to help customers find the shoe they're looking for and do so with a friendly, helpful attitude. Anyway, I needed shoes, I didn't have more time to waste going to another store, so after waiting for several minutes for her or anybody to approach the checkout counter, she finally showed up. She rang the items, and didn't even say "thank you" or anything of the sort. She's earning commission from my sale, aside from being paid hourly and STILL can't say a simple "thanks"? How are these people allowed to work here?? I will never buy anything else from here again. FYI, other departments either also have horrible customer service, or some departments have somewhat decent customer service, but nothing outstanding in any department that I've ever seen over the years.
