Went there today to the Menswear Dept. The inventory is non existent. What is there is priced beyond the stratosphere and in very obscure sizes...you have to be either Justin Bieber or Hulk Hogan to find something in your size. Bad form, Macy's. Mind you im 20 years old. I came into macy's today to go to the Clinique counter to go get the moisturizer I have been re purchasing half of all my life and usually I always order it online but this time I decided to go to Macys because I was close by. I came up to the counter and the lady at the front completely ignored me and wouldn't give me service, another costumer came by 5 minutes later and she came right up to her to help her. I was so frustrated because I waited for almost 40 minutes and had to call my mom to test if she would come up to her...when my mom came she came up to her and I confronted her and told her i needed help and I literally had to bring my mom to get her attention, she looked at me like I was some 15 year old with no money... i was about to spend over $70 on products but guess she didnt get my commission, i left right away and will never step foot by this counter and how rude she looked at me. Very pathetic that i was begging for help and she pretended like i didnt even exist and didnt want to give me service, im so upset and these workers need to treat everyone equally read more

Who doesn't love Macy's? It's a bit pricey but if you take advantage of their coupons, you may find a deal. Came here with my sweetie and ventured into the Men's department. The store was clean, well organized and the sales people were helpful. He ordered a dress shirt online since they didn't have his size in stock. It arrived three days later WITH the sensor tag still attached! We had to make another trip to get it removed before he could wear it. I love Macy's but they really should do a better job at checking their merchandise BEFORE sending it through the mail. For this reason, I give them 3 stars.... read more

Went in again today to purchase cologne. The older women working there were once again smug and condescending. How dare we ask questions! Wouldn't want to interrupt your gossip time. I asked if they carried Creed cologne to which the sales associate said they did not. My attempt at making conversation I said "it's pretty expensive but smells great" but before I could finish, the sales associate interrupted me and said loud and rude "thats NOT why we don't carry it! it has nothing to do with price, we have many expensive colognes" Well excuse the hell out of me! That seemed to piss her off. Her associate rang us up, and with her back to us threw the receipt back on the counter. I don't know why I went back... or why I write this review. Macys won't reply or even care as long as they are making a sale. This is the only Macys I've had an issue with. This is a review of Macy's Furniture. Please be aware Macy's is not the ones actually making your couch. They use an outside distribution company that is terrible. Macy's will not be able to help you with any shipping issues with your delivery. After taking the day off work I received a call 1 hour after the delivery start time the truck broke down and they would contact me to reschedule. They never called - so I called Macy's and they had no idea what was going on. Also, they informed me the delivery service does not take customer calls. The couch arrived the next day unannounced. We ordered a 7 piece gray sectional and 6 pieces were gray and one was ivory white. The delivery person said Macy's will send a replacement in 2-3 days. I called Macy's and since it's a custom order Macy's informed me it would be another 8 weeks for the piece. Moreover the "white glove" delivery is anything but. It costs a mandatory 200 dollars and they are supposed to vacuum, move old furniture etc...Nothing like this, in fact the couch (minus one section) was not even clipped in right or set up properly. Upon further inspection of our "custom" couch most of the seams are not sewn correctly and string is coming out of a lot of the couch. Also the ottoman was set up in a way to hide a 4 inch pen mark down the side that i'm guessing they used to open the box and drew on the couch. Needless to say it's being returned. A 10 week waste waiting for a defective "custom" Macy's couch. I would AVOID them at all costs. Macy's will most likely be out of business in a few years anyway. read more

Please know they have a sushi restaurant INSIDE MACYS!!! Second floor... best sushi in town no joke. The freshest fist, the kindest staff. Either Cindy or the chef James will greet you and give you the best service and they are very focused. Allergies, no problem. Rush? No problem Hungry for amazing quality sushi? NP You get my point. I'm here about 3 times a week for the quality, price, service and amazing experiences. We were even eating here when the power went out last week and they took beautiful care of us. Don't recommend buying at this store, especially getting a Macy's credit card! I brought two perfumes last year and they said if I open up a credit card then I'll get a great discount which I did. And I paid most of the bill that day and the rest of the bill would have came in the mail in a month they said. But I returned one of the perfumes a few days later because it gave me a really bad allergies. Since I already paid them most of money, Macy's would owe me money and I asked one of the employees and they said that I will receive a letter saying how much they would owe me. Which I did receive it, and it would be in my Macy's card. And the balance was more than $50. So I went to Macy's and bought small things to make up my $50. But I never brought my Macy's credit card because I lost it. So I used my social and ID to regain my balance in my account. I always asked before buying what's my balance and in my last purchase, they said I had around $15 left. And ever since I never used it because I haven't gone to the store. And I started getting letters that I owe them over $160!! Like how!! So I started calling and calling and never got helped. All they did was transferring me to another number each time. I've gone to the Macy's store and told them and they said they can't do anything and I have to call the store. Which I have been doing but nothing. read more

Went shopping here Friday for something nice to wear to an event on Monday. I specifically asked the customer service representative that was ringing me up if she took off the security device. She was chatting with someone behind her and not paying attention so I asked her again because I knew I would not have time to come back and have it taken off as I've had to do in the past at the store. She assured me that she removed the device. Guess what?! Here it is Sunday evening and I take it out of the plastic bag and the device was not taken off. I called the store at 6:55 PM explained what happened and the lady says "I'll transfer you to customer service". I wait on hold until exactly 7 o'clock when I get a recording saying we are now closed and the phone disconnected! My last trip to this store will be to return the item. I cannot believe the experience I just had. The whole purpose of online order and pick up is that it should be easy, right? I ordered two Tarteist Pro Palettes online. Once I found the desk where pick up took place, I spoke to a young woman named Christina. She asked for my license to verify my identity for pick up - totally normal. But then, she took my license with her to the back room... Not at all comfortable with that. She comes out with my order and promptly drops the entire bag on the ground. Instead of two palettes being in the bag, there is only one, which I now inspect due to her dropping it. The palette had scuff marks all over the cover, the powder had crumbled on the inside, and there were clearly fingerprints in a couple of the shadow pans. Christina then told me that she needed to call the manager, since obviously, I told her that wouldn't do. And I was missing a palette! "What should I do, return and then offer ten percent?" is what I heard Christina say. The manager told her to verify that both of the palettes were ready for pick up according to the email sent - which they were, and I showed Christina - and then to offer to return the palette since the order was wrong. Only one palette. The other palette, who knows? Christina certainly didn't know when I asked. I was only offered a refund for the one. I then asked Christina about the second palette, and she said she'd go look for it in the back room again. At this point, it's alreay been about 15 minutes. So much for quick and easy. She didn't find the second palette in the back room anywhere, but at least she didn't take my license this time. Christina then called the manager again, who said she'd come down and handle the problem herself. So, I got to wait another 10 minutes for the manager to appear. Tall lady, thin, gray hair, very nice demeanor. She takes a look at everything, looks up my order on the computer (because the receipt that THEY had printed before and stuck in the bag wasn't enough, I guess) and then tells me to wait while she runs to a few different departments...? So I wait ANOTHER 8-10 minutes or so for her to get back. When the manager gets back, she has the correct number of palettes and promptly says, "Here we go! Jenny in makeup inspected these and said they look squeaky clean, perfect for gifting. I hope they like their gifts - you made a great choice." She handed me the bag and that was that. After 45 minutes to pick up an ONLINE order, I walk away with absolutely no compensation, and not even an apology. When I get to my car, I inspect the palettes myself - one has a fingerprint, clear as day, in one of the pans, and both palettes have scuffed cases. Did I really just spend $100 for that, and the crappy experience that went with it? I can not believe the level of customer DIS-service that went into this. I'll NEVER online order from Macy's again, and at this point, would rather go straight to the brand itself and pay for shipping, skipping the middleman altogether, since at least I know I'll get quality product and easy returns! Absolutely NO offer to compensate me for my time and troubles..... what kind of store...?!?! I saw a pair of Michael Kors wedges that I wanted to purchase was available at this location. However, once I got to the shoe dept. the shoes were not at the store. James looked relentlessly for the shoes and then helped me order the shoes so that they would be shipped to my house, not only was Michael Kors having a 35% off sale, James hooked it up bc of the headache from the misinformation online. Not only was he extremely nice and friendly, he went above and beyond to make sure that I was able to get the shoes that I have been wanting to purchase. 10+ stars for the customer service from James! read more

I bought some shoes at the Horton Plaza store about a month ago. One of the shoes started coming apart at a seam, so I took them back to Macy's in Carlsbad. Without a receipt or the box, I thought it would be a long shot. The lady and gentlemen in the men's shoe department were great. They took the time to search for the transaction and I was able to get them exchanged for a new pair. Employee make a big difference in where I shop. Yelping a department store is boring. I needed a camisole....fast. The men's shoe selection was not satisfactory. The service was nice. But my funny story is here: Perusing the store for a rest room, to my fucking dismay, the ladies room was closed for cleaning. The only options were the family one stall room, or the men's room. There was a line of 4 ladies waiting for the 'family' toilet. Knowing that my husband had walked in moments prior, I opened the men's door, and to the shock of the ladies in waiting, said, 'honey, are you the only dude in there?' In a deep exaggerated tone, he said, 'YES'. I ran in, took care of business.... no, I don't pee standing up. And yes, all 4 ladies were still in line. Very clean men's room. This Macy's is as decrepit and dank as its surrounding mall. The selection is minimal; it appears to be a dumping ground for clothing, probably from the infinitely nicer, brighter stores in North County Fair and Mission Viejo. The carpets are stained, the whole place smells funny, and in particular, the dingy fitting rooms smell like locker rooms. I know that Westfield is continuously dragging their feet on refurbishing this mall beyond adding the movie theaters and a 24 Hour Fitness on the east end. But there's no reason for Macy's to mimic the overall negative vibe of the remainder of this mall. Redeeming Macy's from the ignoble stardom of one-stardom is that it's 1.5 miles from my house, and it's great for returning stuff I order from Macy's online. read more

Spent 45 minutes finding the right pair of jeans only to spend another 20 minutes in line trying to pay. Mind you, my time spent searching is a given and I'm not upset or bothered by that. It's when it came time to pay were it went south. I was standing on the spot on the ground where it read "line starts here" but people were starting to gather around the registers. The clerks kept helping people who just walk right up to pay who were not even in line. Finally someone said something and one of the clerks asked everyone to please stand in line. Then one of the clerks said "we can help the next customer in line", yay, that was me. I felt like I just like I just won something! So I walked up to clerk at the register and said "hello", but she gave no response. :/ She just kept clicking away at the register, never looking up to acknowledge me. Then, another store clerk walks up to her and asked a question and they talked for a few minutes, all the while I'm waiting at the register with clothes in hand, ready to pay. I'm starting to looking around for the hidden camera because this was surreal, I couldn't believe this was actually happening. :/ The clerks appear to be finishing up their conversation (while I stand there there, not 2 feet from them) then the clerks that was supposed to help me, starts to walk away! :/ Again, I look around for that hidden camera, this has to be some sort of joke. Listen, I'm a funny guy and can take joke and laugh at myself, as I often do. I'm still not upset, but more like surprised by all this. The clerk does eventually turn around and is suprised to see me there as if I just appeared out of thin air. I get it, the store was busy with holiday shoppers but come on guys, get your act together. Tommy in the Mens department near the suits was AMAZING! We were so overwhelmed trying to find a suit for my husband THAT NIGHT and he saved us! In less than 10 minutes he found (just by looking at him) a perfectly fitted jacket and pants that fit like a glove. He stayed near the fitting room to make sure it fit and then went on to find us the perfect tie. He even explained how the colors in the tie complimented the suit due to his past career as an Art teacher! He truly made our night. Thank you Tommy! read more

Macys in Carlsbad has a lot to offer, whether you go in knowing exactly what you're looking for or you're there to browse. Sales and deals can offer up items so inexpensive, you can't help but wonder if you're shopping at a Macys location or a second-hand store. Keep in mind, you're getting Macys quality at an extremely low cost, we're talking brand names for dirt cheap! Never pass up a clearance rounder or rack, those things are breeding grounds for fabulous prices! Note; those areas get torn apart on sales days! They get to looking like one hot mess! The coupon situation can be one of frustration and with the word "exclusion" being thrown around so lackadaisically, it can all get tiresome real quick! It takes just enough exposure and practice to get to where you can use those coupons like a pro though! (Remember, the letters EDV and prices containing $0."98" are coupons' mortal enemies!) Hopefully a sales person can find you while you're amidst your shopping and inform you of the functionality of your coupons before you get to the checkout and have to deal with the complications there! This store is definitely in desperate need of architectural love and refurbishment! There is no denying that! The store is slowly making improvements here and there and hopefully the renovations will happen more abundantly and with haste what with the work being down on the entire mall. My least favorite part of this store is when the escalators break down! They must be so old and worked to their core! Ugh...I guess the then stair climbing makes for a decent workout? The staff tries so incredibly hard to be the employees you would imagine a Macys would hire. I feel with any department store/retail job, you have your associates that take their role in the store to heart and act with gusto, and then those associates that treat it like just another paycheck (and those employees can make a visit less than awesome for sure). On a good day, you'll find that most associates are actually there to give you a really nice, maybe even memorable, experience; they are actually caring and courteous! read more

I came here simply to return a belt. What happens next? I noticed there is a door buster sale. So, naturally I look around for a good deal since I have a Macy's card already. I went immediately to the suits because I can't pass up a good deal on a three-piece suit. I try to couple things on like all the prices that I was seeing and decided to go downstairs to Express to compare prices. While I love Express, they did not have a huge sale going on. I go back upstairs pick out my suit and go to the little scanner they have so I can check the actual prices. They look great, I was happy. I go to the register and everything rang up for more. I didn't make a fuss and Tracy, the salesman, went with me to try and sort this out. He grabbed one of his managers who had a scan gun. She scanned the items and said "the sale is now over ... it was over 20 minutes ago." I kind of gave Tracy the look like " come on man," but he was already all over it. We got it back down to the prices I wanted, and he suggested I use my Macy's card to get even more off, and now I'm in my car giving a review because I just got a suit for a steal! Macy's often does have really good sales and you should keep your eye out for them. As long as you're one of those people like me, that puts it on the card and pays it off right away it's not a bad way to do your shopping. With that, I'm off with a fresh new suit for a wedding this weekend and looking forward to wearing it. read more

WTF? Were do I begin? The shoppers who have the stupid attitude that they are on Boulevard Champs-Elysees or 5th Avenue with bags and boxes full of Couture, as they hop into there Honda or leased E Series; or overpriced marginal "stuff" that you can get some kind of deal on if you have a "coupon" after you sift through shelves and tables and tons of "deals," or the actual store with its skeleton crew. I'm lost. I hated my experience here. The shoppers were rude, self absorbed, and had this entitlement attitude, which I don't get. Many of the shoppers actual appearance and the way they carried themselves didn't match the image they were trying to project. You know, class with a K. Instead of making me think they were self important, they ended up making me think they were just a bunch of assholes. The staff must be overwhelmed, because I couldn't find many of them. Except in the fragrance area, and I wasn't in the market for fragrance designed by some entertainer when they are not in prison. And the funniest thing of all, we couldn't find what we wanted at the price we wanted to pay. Which was a purse. The handbag department was absolutely full of merchandise. So much so that it was hard to walk through. And with sales from 20-50% off, how could we go wrong? Right? Well, we went to the Nasty Marshall's in the adjacent shopping center and found the EXACT same purse for $80.00 less. Even if we had the lame Macy's coupon, we would still pay more if we bought at Macy's. Marshall's was dirty and the bathrooms stink and are gross, but then again so is Macy's and it isn't that much nicer. What is the benefit to shopping here? Using there store Credit Card, at a high interest rate? I'm not impressed. read more

Working in the Carlsbad Mall you places for lunch are limited. This Cafe just located right inside Macy's womens is convenient, and decently priced. Also, I work most days by myself so it's nice they deliver throughout the mall. They wraps are usually best, I've been stuck on the grilled cheese sammich!! I sometimes eat like a little kid. The southwestern wrap is GREAT, turkey, avocado, honey mustard, and some other stuff. It's pretty tasty. It has sour cream in it as well. The staff is always friendly. On the inside it's a little run down but hey, the food is pretty good. Better then Mcdonalds or subway. read more

I discovered something great about Macy's this week. Turns out, if Macys.com has a lower price than the instore price on any item, if you bring in a printout of the page online that shows the item and price, you will get it for that price in the store! And if you buy something, then get home and find it on Macys.com for a lower price, print that out and bring it into the store for a price adjustment. I learned this at the Carlsbad store when an associate at check-out told me how to get the price adjustment after I told him the coffeemaker I was buying was $60 less at Macys.com. The next day, I went to the Escondido Macy's, because I was in that area, with my printout and receipt, and got the adjustment. I also was armed with printouts of sale prices on lingerie I wanted, and got those for the much lower prices also. Even though the saleswoman in the lingerie dept had never heard of it, she called someone who confirmed and walked her through it. read more

It was marked 1000$ they advertise it year after year for $350 you know the ring, it looks great in the photo, but its dyed junk people, especially you guys like me that just don't know. do not buy from here. it broke after a few months, you figure macy's would have enough class to buy decent stuff but nope, its the typical chinese junk everyone else gets. i'm very dissatisfied and will never go back, and continue my electronic information protest plan! also we purchased nice bath towels because in the past they were very good quality and they are long. Update: I spoke to Corporate who had store manager Holli Calle me. After explaining, I found that the store manager really does care about customer service and that she would get to the bottom of what happened. She was able to locate my item, charge and shop it out within minutes. I recurred my item next day and wore it to daughters Bridal shower. Where I got nothing but compliments and questions as to where I got my dress at! And above all, the bride was happy that Mom looked great! I honestly feel that has it not been for the store Management and Corp. office, I would not be writing this nor ever shopping at Macy's again. So thank you ladies for making me a believers that customer service still exists! ****************************************************************** I was treated beautifully in the Temecula store and was directed to the Carlsbad store because they have what I need in stock. Well... At 8:30 pm I called the store and department I needed, only to be hung up repeatedly by the sales clerk in the Macy's Woman department! At 8:55 I called back again and connected to the suits and dress department only to be hung up on AGAIN! I called the Temecula store to see if they could get through and nothing! And they told me "it is not available for pickup" I went and found the item that I purchased online for pick up in that store, and they told me I needed to pay for the item I already paid for AGAIN. Spotted this off of the 78 after my super joyous nail experience and exclaimed aloud to myself (as I normally do for some reason) "Oh! A Macy's! Perfect - I need to go get my Clinique bonus on!" The Clinique counter was a bit slow to help me considering how many employees were there versus the amount of customers - but nonetheless I was helpfully helped (and of course informed that my favorite lip stuff was no longer in production - SIGH). I was shown some other possibilities and told the gal I'd like to peruse for a bit. She was super friendly and took care of me and I found a cool new lip glossy lipstick with brush applicator thingy. Then I hopped over the jewelry department to see if they had any ring cleaner. I was initially on my way to a Bed, Bath, and Beyond for ring cleaner (gotta keep the new diamond shiny!) when I spotted the Macy's off the 78. $6.95? Done. Then I was mesmerized by the shoe section. So many boots - and most of them with little to no heel (my new requirement unfortunately post foot surgery) when I spotted some cool versatile boots that were totally different and military-ish and oh-so-perfectly cool and comfortable for 12 hour work days. I decided they were worth the $75 I didn't have when I was rung up and told the total was $50 and some change. :-O They weren't even marked on sale - they were on sale and a coupon was scanned without me knowing - new shoes and a good deal? I think so. i flew up to the bathrooms before trekking home (why are these things always so difficult to find?) and although it was nothing fancy it was empty and clean. I'm just super thankful that I only had an hour from start to finish before they closed - because the amount of Ooo's and Ah's I was spewing was getting very expensive. read more
