This Macy's location is going downhill fast. After being at the Woodfield Mall location earlier in the same day, I felt like I was in a whole other store. Items are spaced out and it appears like inventory is low. I did not encounter any employees on sales floor. It seems like they are at their designated registers and that is about it. Person that checked me out was rude too. I don't see this location in the Promenade lasting much longer. read more

Horrible service. Telephone line is dead so no way to contact them directly through their location, macys.com, or the bolingbrook mall support. Went in to buy dress clothes for my son and know nothing about sizing. Thankful that Leo, in the men's department was there to help me out. It's as if he saw the confused look on my face. Much better than JCPenney or Kohls. Clean and well-stocked. They take advantage of their real estate and merchandise. Stopped by the jewelry department so the girlfriend could pick out some earrings. She found some, and the employee behind the counter said she could get an extra discount if she paid, and the store can hold the earrings until the sale date. Nice! read more

They don't care about you as a person, you are just a number. Associates are constantly talking about their personal lives without any regard for the customer. Make up girls are not friendly, I tried to make an appointment and the dark girl who looks like hooker said she was busy. They sit there with 5 pounds of make up eating and laughing rather than working. Let's hope this store closes soon... read more

Fantastic sales associate! I went to purchase earrings for my mom for her birthday. I went up to the jewelry counter and was greeted with a very warm, friendly smile by an associate by the name of.Farzana. She helped me find exactly what I needed and I wanted to put it on my Macy's card, but I didn't have my card with me. She was able to look it up and she told me that my card had expired. she was able to reopen my card and give me an additional discount for using my card. The whole experience was very pleasant and she was very friendly. I felt she was an exceptional help. read more

I am visiting my home town and decided to pay a visit to Macy's at Fox Valley Mall in Aurora, Illinois. I used to shop there back when it was Marshall Fields w I was growing up. Back then the customer service rep were amazing...helpful, attentive and put the customer first. Everything shined and the customer experience was amazing. Fast forward to yesterday. The customer service team was atrocious. Three workers made us wait to ask questions and then to check out. One made us wait while she put clothes back on racks. The other two made us wait while they carried on a conversation not work related. The floors were not shiny and many surfaces need repainting. I can see why Macy's is going downhill. I can't say I'll go to Macy's anytime soon after that treatment as though my business is not important to give me the customer experience a high end retailer should deliver. Normally I enjoy going shopping at Macy's but this location seems to be lacking in store employees. I had to wait over 10 minutes to get acknowledged at the cosmetics counter. By the time a sales associate noticed us she said there was no one at the counter I needed assistance at and she would be with us when she was done. After an additional 15 minutes we left! read more

My experiences at the Bolingbrook location have been stellar, mostly. From the fine jewelry counter to mattresses. As a matter of fact, today we bought a new mattress and met a very kind and knowledgeable Brian Jefferson. Dealing with mattresses has to got to get to you after awhile. Whether this was his normal gig or if he was just helping out in this Dept, I'd imagine it was daunting watching my husband and I hop from mattress to mattress, locating remotes for each adjustable frame we wanted to be moved by, discussing back aches and other personal issues, ha! He was great through the whole ordeal. Attentive and willing to answer any and all questions we had. We bought from Macy's today, in part, due to this helpful associate. Thanks Brian! read more

Great place to shop. Employees always ask if they can help you the first time they spot you; this could be welcoming or annoying depending on how personable you are. Everyone there is kind and seems to want to help you to the best of their ability. The cloths material quality is really good. I have always had good experiences in this particular store. Good deals the cloths are worth its price. Well organized and lots of affordable basics and other items. One of the best places for shopping cloths. Check out is fast and efficient. I can't believe I have not reviewed this store before. Here goes. It is a small store, no rhyme or reason to the layout. I have gone in just for a specific item in cosmetics and sometimes I have had to stand and wait while the salespeople are chatting. Customer service is really hit or miss. Today I walked right up to the counter and was readily acknowledged. Transaction less than 5 minutes ~ perfect, and back out the door. You take your chances, but it is the only local store that carries this particular product I use. read more

To me, it feels like their clothing sections are set up like a Kohl's. And really, who want's to pay Macy's prices when you could wait for a Wednesday and take your Gammie to Kohl's to get the same stuff with a senior citizens discount? Exactly. The shoe department is small and there's really not much there for the 18-34 year old demographic and the staff that I've spoke to are just not in the mood for obliging customers. Macy's at the promenade in Bolingbrook has gone downhill badly. It usually is a mess and looks like a tornado has blown thru.

1. Rude sales associates (ahemjuniorsareaahem). The sales associates never greet you even when you come up to them to ask them a question. Some of them don't even know their policies! 2. EMPTY cash register area I had a hard time finding someone to ring me out because these associates would not be in their area and would not even care to look. 3. CROWDED They had clothes racks everywhere that sometimes there is not any room to get through. don't like coming here. I'd rather go to woodfield macys or stratford. read more

Went there recently at Macy's I really liked the store! I found everything I was looking for. I bought several different things at very reasonable prices. There were promotions that I took advantage of. Sales associate are selfless, kind and attentive. Very knowledgeable, they know how to response to all of my question about the skin care product. Seems to be customer service oriented. And very impressed by how clean and organized this location was. And Plenty of shopping selections from clothing to shoes to home products, etc. to choose from. Macy's carries a various popular brand. It was great experience shopping on Macy's. Definitely shopping again to this location. And my-go to shopping store. read more

I love shopping at Macy's because they always have good prices and are well stocked. One of my only problems is they aren't well staffed. It doesn't matter what time or day I go in I always have to wait for someone to check me out, whether it's because they have a lot of costumers or their cashiers are so slow! I won't stop shopping here but would really like it if they upgraded things. Also can I brag about Alyssa in the Este lauder counter....amazing!!! I came to buy new foundation and wasn't sure the correct way to say the kind of coverage I wanted. She took her time and found me a great color and foundation and wasn't too pushy with buying other products. Few days ago we went shopping with my wife at Macy's I was recommended to go there because the size we needed for a suit was only available on that location. Once we get there we went to the suit department and the sales associate came up to us and she was great, very helpful and knowledgeable. She had a great attitude and very professional. Macy's has a good selection for men, always a delightful to shop at Macy's especially they have good quality of suits and clothing brand. If I could give a negative star I would worst experience at Macy's in Bolingbrook ever. Horrible customer service one person at a register that supposed to handle all problems, returns, check out. I could've waited there all night to get checked out if I didn't say something. There was one customer in front of me on the phone with her bank because her chip didn't work. Apparently I was supposed to wait until she had this problem resolved. The customer service woman could have checked me out at the other register but felt it was more important to do clean up while she was on the phone. After waiting ten minutes I asked her if she could check me out and she said I could go to any other register. This is why malls are closing. The entire store is a mess. read more

So either the escalator here eats children on the regular OR the older lady who was manning the Origins counter today polices the escalator like a DUI trap on New Years Eve. Myself, my husband, my mother, and my 2 kids where walking thru Macy's today. I had my eye on the shoe section while my husband was planning to take the kids to the outdoor play area. My son saw the escalator, stopped and like many kids, he just loves the rhythmic motion. Rather than just hopping on haphazardly, he verbalized to his father that he wanted to go on. My husband gently tried to redirect him. My son didn't throw a fit, knock down displays, and burn the store to the ground. He was basically just happy to stand to the side of it and watch it all day. My son jumps up and down to show his excitement, and as he did this, here comes this troll of the escalator screaming at him! "Stop playing around by the escalators!!!!!" Now I could go into how my son has special needs. And I could actually see her concern IF he was playing or IF my husband wasn't 1 foot away from him doing what he should've been and making sure our son was a safe. BUT what really was uncalled for was her screaming(yes, screaming) at my son. She should've actually observed what was going on, rather than assuming that here was just another kid going unwatched by his parents, treating her precious escalator like a playground. Observe and deduce, never assume. I quickly addressed her and let her know that not only were both of his parents properly watching him, but also that her tone was absolutely uncalled for. I wish that was the end of our interactions with this illogical and unpleasant woman. Not so. After our shopping was done, we exited thru Macy's the same way we had come in because my mom wanted to check out a dress she'd seen on the way in. My husband was going to mind the children again and also wanted to check out the mens section upstairs. As I walked by her counter she says to me "Oh, now they're going up and down on the escalator?!" I couldn't. I just couldn't. Rather than going all mama bear snap city on this chick, I just turned away. This bully of a woman should not be working in customer service. Harassing customers is not in her job description. Maybe she got Origins confused with Ed Debevic's. Maybe she's seen too much escalator carnage. I don't honestly know. read more

Their customer service is really good. You can get really good deals on jackets, coats handbags. The only downside is the shoe corner. They have only one person there and every time i want to try a shoe in my size i have to ask her, then she goes back and takes about 2 to 5 mins and comes with my size. And when i don't like that shoe i feel bad that i have to ask her again so i just go to dsw instead.only if they can hire more help or maybe just put sizes out there so customers can try themselves that would be great. read more

Whenever there's that one statement piece, that one essential item for my wardrobe, I can always rely on Macy's. My latest obsession was a mid-season jacket that would work in both spring and fall, and especially the rain. I used to love leaving the house without a coat on, but now it makes me cranky. I'm getting old, I guess. I tried some other stores, all of which failed me, including Bass Pro Shop across the street. I didn't want to go to Macy's, because I knew I'd fall in love with something expensive. I didn't want to spend a lot of money - this time. I caved of exhaustion and went to Macy's. Within minutes I found the perfect spring jacket in the well-organized and clean area. It fit all of my criteria: not too tight, not too short, dark color that won't stain easily, good for the rain, pockets, hood, drawstring waist so I don't look like a block... But of course this was a Michael Kors jacket. Bling-fuckity-bling. Price tag? $200. Then I saw a sale sign for 20% off outerwear. Then I had a 20% off coupon on top of that. I still spent a bit more than I intended, but I could swallow this after being defeated everywhere else. Customer service here is great, especially when you've got Goldilocks syndrome like me. The first one I tried on was too big. The second one I tried on was too small. The size in-between that I wanted wasn't on the racks, but the cashier happily ordered it for me online. read more

I cannot believe how much this store has gone downhill. I was shopping with my dad for suits for a wedding. First, the store's appearance was messy. No one looks like they keep up with straightening racks, shelves and clearing dressing rooms. Second, staff is nowhere to be found and when you do catch someone, the attitude is poor. Third, the men's suit department had few three-piece suits or really a lot of suits in general to choose from. There was no one to help measure my dad and help him through the process. Plus there wasn't a store tailor. Really?? This would have never been the case at Marshall Field's and is not the case at Von Maur, Nordstrom's, Lord & Taylor and even Men's Warehouse. We walked out for lack of service, lack of many choices of suits and no tailor to fit the suit. You just lost a sale of $500-$700, Macy's. Start caring! read more

I always forget about Macy's. Wait.. what was I reviewing again? Oh yeah.. This is my last resort spot if I've gone everywhere else I'm willing to go. I have had some good finds here, but at the price average it's a one item stop. I always go to the clearance sections first- Which this particular Macy's has a lot of. I was in need of some festi shoes for this season when I spotted the PERFECT pair of mesh Converse. They were cheap too! Oh, you only have a size 6 left? That's OK let me just chop off my toes. I knew it was too good to be true. The guy working offered to look for other Macy's in the area that might have that shoe with no luck (This is making me want them more of course.) He went in the back to look for my size in another color and came back with the shoe I wanted in my size!! He said they were labeled wrong and he checked anyway! I've been in love with you since I was 10 and I got my first grown up slip to wear to church :) Can find almost anything here and they have great online as well as in-store deals....ALWAYS Saturday I went here and forgot my new D&G sunglasses at the counter I considered it a lost but my guy kept saying before we leave we need to go back and check if they may have them. I mean they are cute glasses why would they still be there? IS what I thought Suprisingly when we went back the great cashier had locked them up under her register and kept them in case I did come to find them, THANK GOODNESS and how nice! I went to the watch department fairly early on a Monday where the woman (can't remember her name) greeted me and helped me pick out a watch that fit my needs and was in my price range, very helpful. A short while later 2 other customers came to her counter for help, not necessarily for watches but because they couldn't find any associates. I actually felt bad because the counter lady was trying to help but was very overwhelmed. I saw first hand how sort staffed they were and personally would not have waited had it been me. Anyhow, I strolled over to MAC for the first time to buy a bronzer. The lady that helped me was very nice but not very helpful. Gave me a bronzer that was too light for my skin, told me anything darker would make me look orange. I bought the bronzer against my better judgment. Of course I threw away the receipt but when I went back today in hopes of exchanging it I was extremely surprised to find that the red haired lady that helped me had no problem. She got me the right color and I bought a concealer too. Very good customer service. read more

My review is specifically for the Clinique counter inside this Macy's, because I don't think there's another way for me to review it; I haven't really shopped too much at this Macy's in its entirety. I stopped in one day after work on a whim because I needed some more foundation from Clinique and boy am I glad I did! I knew I was going to ask for some makeup help, because I always do. I'm more than happy to get a "free" makeover, learn some tips on how to be girly, and buy $100 worth of fun new makeup! Anyway, the manager working here is amazing! Clinique had a promotion going where you got a bag of free goodies (eye shadow, blush, mascara, lipstick, makeup remover, lotion, and 2 bags) when you bought a certain amount of merchandise. The manager helped me out and gave me a total makeover using stuff that I was mostly getting for free just for buying the foundation that I needed! I bought foundation, a lid smoothie, and an additional lip color for about $60 total plus got everything I listed above free. I walked away with a totally fresh new look. I was so impressed. She spent at least 30 minutes with me doing my makeup, teaching me how to do my makeup, letting me try different product- red carpet service! With all that being said about how great this particular location is, I'll give the obligatory general/standard Clinique plug about how much I love their hypoallergenic and acne free solutions. All of their product works so well with my skin, I can't shop anywhere else or I'd be spending double my money on acne medication and benadryl every month. Totally worth the trip and the money to this location to buy Clinique product! read more

I asked for help several times but she was too busy chatting with friends. I was really shocked this was a Macys, I expected so much more. I prefer this Macy's to the one off of Rt. 59. The BCBG sales associates are really nice and helpful. They have always scrambled to find things in my size and color. When I'm undecided between one purchase or another, they usually come up with something completely different that looks way better on me than what I've chosen. The girls at the MAC counter are awesome at spending time with their customers and giving them full attention. If there are a few people milling around they make sure to let you know they're aware of your presence. I don't mind waiting because I know I'll get that level of attention too when they're done helping other customers out. The Estee Lauder counter service sucks. The woman who works there full-time during the week is a snob and ignores you. I'm always in for a refill of a product, so it's not like she has to spend a lot of time helping me out. Apparently she's too good for her customers. If I help her meet her sales goals for the month I will go elsewhere to buy my products. She certainly doesn't deserve my business. read more

Initially it started w/resentment; a love-hate affair that has was fostered by Macy's name change from the iconic Marshall Field's and Co. It took a long time for me to even enter the door of Macy's. That was years ago on State St. and I left w/major disdain and disappointment. History aside, today is a new day. Having shopped this location several times, I am very pleased with the quality of clothing selection and price point. The handbag department is great, and the customer service in this department was very helpful especially w/upcoming sales. The women's department lacks a logical flow in the layout, so just be in the mood to hunt for what you want. Great clearance items and sales prices are well worth the hunt ( a hot mess Macy's)! The cosmetic counter is hit an miss depending on the sales person. Today, scored at L'Oreal's counter! The sales rep. was very helpful and offered various sample items, just ask. BB cream, yes, lighter foundation for summer, yes...custom mixed as well along w/various other sample items + several Genifique serum samples, mascaras and eye creams! Sad to say, Chicagoans have a long, fond memory of Marshall Fields & Co. and the iconic structure that the store held for Chicago. The abysmal demolishment of a part Chicago's history still stings w/the name change to Macy's. O.K. we get it... N.Y. trumps Chicago (yada yada yada) . But Marshall Fields lives on in our hearts, not Macy's. It is just not the same, it's just a regular store now, it's not a part of Chicago history that can be passed on. That aside, the store provides good quality well priced merchandise and quick shipping for online purchases! read more
