The service was great- I dropped off my Mac for a hardware issue still under warranty at 11 on Monday morning and my computer was ready the following afternoon. Shane even helped me with the computer down to my car as I had my 1 year old daughter in tow. The shop is a little hard to find at first but that's not a big deal really. It beats going to the mall and waiting for the Genius Bar at Apple which by the way quoted me a 1 week turnaround for the same repair. All around top notch Mactronics. read more

Cannot say enough good things about Mactronics. The screen on my Macbook Pro had turned green, and when I took it to the Apple Store, they told me it was going to be a $750 repair and that I "might as well buy a new Macbook" even though my actual hard drive was completely functional. Took it to Mactronics and they were able to do a repair over night for $97. The customer service reps are amazing too; Terri was so sweet and very informative. These people are amazing and I don't know why everyone doesn't know about them. If you're having issues with your Macbook, GO TO MACTRONICS FIRST. read more

Terry and Shane are the best! Quick and honest. If there's a solution for your Mac they will find it. Also, very friendly and cool.

I fear words cannot due justice to how incredible this shop is. As much of a bummer as it was having my MacBook Pro die on me right after Christmas, Terri at MacTronics made the experience of getting it repaired a million times better with her incredible customer service, expertise, and rapid response. I debated whether to take my computer to the Apple store or find a local authorized service shop. I went with the latter hoping the service might be better, and I am so very happy I made that choice. They bent over backwards to fix it for me as quickly as possible, even during the holidays, and treated me like royalty throughout the process. Terri followed up every day via email and phone to keep me updated on the status and make sure I knew what was happening every step of the way. When I took the computer in, it took Terri all of 2 seconds to diagnose the issue (a cracked screen due to a webcam cover). She was so kind and made me feel like she truly cared about my problem and making sure I was as happy as possible. When I picked up my computer, it had been cleaned so well that it looked brand new...way better than when I took it in. It almost made me happy I needed repairs. Rarely does a shop make me feel so valued as a customer, and I couldn't neglect the opportunity to come on here and rave about my experience. Bonus points for how adorable the shop is and much old South Austin charm it had. Do NOT hesitate to take your Mac here. You will not be sorry. read more

After taking my MBP to the numb nuts at genius bar, i gratefully found this place being so close to my apartment. Terry was very understanding of my situation and thoroughly explained all the options and possibilities before any business ensued. Feeling comfortable leaving my 1 year old machine overnight, i was given a diagnostic and repair the next day. Being in the service industry myself, I know hard it is to come by honesty and quality work. I would highly recommend these guys if you have any computer issues or want if you want an opinion superseding the cretins at the genius. read more

Yelp is a sham, but I'm posting here any way bc MacTronics is the bee knees and the kitties titties. Not only is the staff EXTRA awesomely friendly, they seem to know their shit. I took it in for some problems, but alas they couldn't find the "problem" but offered me some advice that seemed to have work! Huzzah for keeping customer service king! read more

These guys are the best! They fixed up my MacBook Pro and put in a new hard drive for a quarter of the cost that the Apple store geniuses quoted me. Thanks, Guys! read more

I highly recommend Mactronics as an Apple Authorized Dealer in Austin. I interacted with both Terry and Shane who made my whole experience easy and painless. They both acted very professionally and at the same time, I felt like I was with old friends. I was fortunate that Shane was able to assess that there was no actual damage to my MacBook Pro and feel confident that I have a completely reliable laptop. I got charged for only the work that was done when, in my case, it would have been easy to either do more than necessary or perhaps say that work was done that had not been. These folks rock and I will always recommend them as a first choice for local work on any Apple computer. read more

Upgraded a Mid-2010 iMac 27" a few months ago. 16GB Crucial Ram and 512 GB SSD. Shane knocked it out of the park. No complaints. He is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. **** One will not regret giving Shane their business. **** Turnaround time was about 2 days, which was very fast for my timeline at that point of the year. Labor cost was reasonable and far better than Best Buy anything for repairs. Apple itself won't even touch "other manufacturers parts". Something about a curse or hands rotting off in place...meh! Long story short, put down whatever BS you're doing and make it a priority to fix your broken or sick apple computer. Rejoin the functioning "Internet of things" :) Or pay full pop for a new computer and don't save money fixing or upgrading. Be reasonable though, there still is a cost. Whether you like, like it or like not like it. Upgrading and repairs aren't paid for with balls of artesian yarn or Madagascarian yak blankets. You'll be in good hands with Shane. read more

Mactronics was so very helpful and I would very much recommend them for seeking advice on MAC issues. Terri was so helpful, kind, and made me feel right at home as she took time to walk me through steps to take to remedy my issues with my computer. I will definitely be going to see them onsite for my computer reapirs. Thanks Terri, you are an angel! read more

Wonderful service!! My computer malfunctioned at the worst time possible, and I ran to the Apple Store to get my computer fixed but was told it would take a couple days just to get in for an appointment. I then came to MacTronics and met Terri, who automatically made me feel better! What I thought would take a couple days to fix, ended up taking a couple hours and cost $0 because they work with Apple (or something)! They definitely earned all my future business! read more

I couldn't be happier with Shari at Mactronics. We were having weird issues with our 2010 iMac and took it in. She ran tests and showed us that everything was in order. While she had no real answers for our odd issues (fan running constantly, screen going black randomly) she listened and we happily took our quirky iMac home. I would highly recommend them if you have Mac problems. read more

The whole experience was wonderful, I needed to put a wet hard drive into a friends old computer, and they directed me to the least expensive option possible to get the job done. They even gave me a 10% musician discount after chatting for a while. They were obviously very knowledgeable and helped me find the most affective solution. 100% would recommend :) read more

Mactronics was so great. I brought in my laptop and was very unsure about what was going on. My trackpad was not functioning and it seems as though it was just popped in and wasn't able to click. But the technician knew immediately it was because i had a swollen battery. He was very quick to call me back that same day and let me know that he could go ahead and order me a new battery. Terri also was so great. She kept me on top of what was going on the entire time because I had to wait a few days for Apple to ship out the battery and she would call me with updates. they were so great and now my laptop is working perfectly. Thank you! read more

I have a lot of Mac products and I was really worried when my Mac had an issue booting up and the online instructions to fix were not working. I took it in on Monday and same day they knew what was wrong with it and how to fix it. It was done next day. This place has great turn around and affordable rates. I highly recommend for anyone doing warranty or out of warranty issues with any Mac computer or iPads. They know their stuff! read more

The "service battery" warning was on in my MacBook Air. I called Apple for assistance and they told me because my computer was more than 5 years old (I brought it in 2013), it was considered VINTAGE so I needed to go to a licensed Mac repair shop to get it looked at. Terri was so helpful and friendly right away, took care of diagnostics quickly and very informative on cost and process for getting the replacement battery. Once the item came in, she was very communicative and flexible in coordination, and the work was done very quickly. Hopefully I don't have more repairs, but will return to MacTronics if I do. read more

I went to Mactronics a couple of years ago when my hard-drive died. Terry was really helpful and saved what she could for me. Today I went with my new laptop and again, she was SO sweet! She spent about 30 minutes helping me get rid of some malware, told me what to do to back my machine up, and how to get everything running perfectly. Then, she refused payment!! I couldn't believe it. Her level of customer service and kindness are through the roof. I 100% recommend taking your Apple computer to them any time you have an issue. read more

AMazing service, great parking and the most friendly staff.

I normally don't write reviews but this is honestly the BEST place to go to get your Macbook fixed! They will tell you the best option (even if it means going to the apple store instead) to check your computer! Terri was so sweet and suggested I go to the apple store first since it would be the best deal for the issue I was having! She was extremely knowledgeable about the problems I had and guided me through the process of possibly even fixing it myself. They're unselfish and I felt as if they actually cared about treating my Macbook and their customers right. My macbook appears to be a lost cause so I will most likely not go here to get it repaired but for those thinking of getting their Macbook fixed should definitely go here! read more

MacTronics has me as a customer for life. They were fast, charged reasonable rates, and got me back up and running in an emergency situation in under 24 hours. Thanks, MacTronics. And thanks, Terry, who was crazy helpful. You guys rock. read more

I had a dead MacBook Pro and a dead MacBook. The Apple Store wanted $600+ to fix the MBP. MacTronics was able to strip some pieces out of the MBP to get my MB up and running better than ever. They saved the day quickly and inexpensively. read more

You can't go wrong with Mactronics - period. My wife's iMac died and since I am new to the area I wasn't sure who to take it to. Boy, did I luck out with Mactronics. First, let me say their communications with me was fantastic. They laid out all of my options from from diagnoses to repair. Terri and Shane were in constant contact and were very detailed in explaining what they found. Terri even called to see if my dead hard drive might still be under warranty. I was also pleased with the prices that they quoted. I could have done much worse and I am so thankful that I found them. read more

I called about getting a repair and Shane the "service manager" was very disrespectful over the phone. I've heard you loud and clear. Another shop was happy to take my equipment in for repair. read more

A big thumbs up for a wonderful, trusted business. I have brought my Mac in twice for repairs. Each time, MacTronics handled the issues quickly and with great expertise for a fair price -- no gouging here. The moment you walk in, Terri receives you with a genuine smile and immediately instills confidence that your Mac is in the right hands. I highly recommend them! read more

Very professional and friendly place. Terri is awesome. They tell you what to expect before hand provide frequent updates.

Excellent service from knowledgable people. I will definitely take my Mac back there if it needs work again.

Really, really nice people and really, really great service. I won't take my Mac or iphone anywhere else, now.

My husbands Apple Desktop computer quit working. I found MacTronics, an Apple authorized repair outfit, on yelp. They fixed his computer in record time. My husband has not stopped singing their praises. He interacted with both Terry and Shane. He speaks highly of both. He keeps thanking me for finding them. So thank you yelp, you should be the one getting his thanks. read more

Go see Terri! These 5 star reviews are all accurate. Mactronics was as good as it gets and Terri was so very helpful when my older MacBook Pro crashed. She went above and beyond to help me, gave me great advice and was one of the most friendly people I've met. When I need help in the future, she'll be my first call. read more

They workers there were really helpful on the phone before I went in and after I went in for the checkup for my 13inch macbook pro. They explained everything throughly for what they would do and several options of what I could do depending on the situation of my Macbook. They ended up restoring my macbook to its former glory in less than a day as well as informing me several times about what they were about to do to my macbook and if I was ok with it. The reason I am not giving it a 5 star is the price. $60 just to check it WITHOUT opening the computer even though I knew it was already something wrong internally with the macbook and so they taxed another $30 just to run a diagnosis. Normally a diagnosis should be minimal cost in my opinion because you don't even know if the problem with your mac can be fixed which means it is possible to just throw $90 at them so that they can tell you they don't know what's wrong. Overall though, they did fix my macbook and I am happy with the results. read more

Excellent service and knowledge - better than Apple Store! Fast turnaround, and fair prices.

They were adept at the diagnosing but customer service was lacking.

MacTronics is a bit hard to find, but worth the search. The system board on my refurbished MacBook died 3 days before the 3 month warranty expired. Fortunately, I had AppleCare so I was covered either way, but they were able to turn the repair around in less than 24 hours. Polite, professional, and will definitely use them again! read more

I took my Macbook in for a repair that was not only ok'd by Apple, but was being paid for by Apple. I felt right away that they didn't want to do the repair, to the point of sending me out with my laptop. The person behind the counter seemed to go out of their way looking for dents, scratches, etc. I was told they would order the part from Apple and let me know the next day because the orders/shipping has to do with midnight. I received a call about an hour later telling me their tech wouldn't do the work because there was a small dent on 2 corners and they didn't want the liability. I had been to the Apple store where they had run a diagnostic and found there was a failed part on the mother board. This was included in the case report that I showed them, and they even knew about this being a problem with this type of Macbook. I then went to Compuzone on west 5th street. 27 hours later they had received the part, replaced the part, and handed me my laptop back. Sorry mactronics, you won't get a second chance at the first impression read more

I decided to take my laptop to MacTronics based on a friends recommendation. The issue with my Macbook Pro: My screen kept freezing and finally after two weeks it just stopped booting up. Normally this would be a sensible conclusion that my hard drive was fried. However, I installed an SSD a few years ago and those things rarely crash. So I took it to MacTronics and explained that I wasn't sure what was wrong with the laptop but I assumed it was the hard drive even though it was SSD. I was informed for them to run an diagnostics test on the laptop it would cost me 60 bucks. If that came up with nothing they would need to open the laptop up that would be an additional 30 bucks. I received a call two days later and I was politely told that they couldn't find out what was wrong with my laptop but they assumed it was the hard drive. Which is what I assumed before I dropped my laptop off! They also told me that I was 90 bucks in so far and that the next step was to erase my hard drive and reformat it to see if it was actually the hard drive. The next step would cost me an additional 60 bucks bringing my total to 150 bucks. When I asked if erasing my data was necessary they told me yes in order to keep troubleshooting. I refused because I know that I can erase my own data, go to the Apple store and they can reformat my hard drive for free! So I picked up my laptop, paid 90 bucks, and went to the Apple store. First off, Apple ran two different diagnostics tests FOR FREE!!. They also told me that because I installed my own hard drive that the diagnostics test will always show my hard drive as an error so they were looking for other errors. They also agreed that SSD hard drives rarely crash so they wanted to take a look inside my Macbook Pro overnight FREE of charge. I got a call the next day from Apple saying my laptop was fixed by merely replacing the cable that connects the hard drive to the motherboard! Data Saved! And it cost me 57 bucks!! If you have an Apple device that is less than 6 years old DO NOT TAKE IT TO THIS PLACE unless you need data recovery. read more
