The service was great- I dropped off my Mac for a hardware issue still under warranty at 11 on Monday morning and my computer was ready the following afternoon. Shane even helped me with the computer down to my car as I had my 1 year old daughter in tow. The shop is a little hard to find at first but that's not a big deal really. Cannot say enough good things about Mactronics. The screen on my Macbook Pro had turned green, and when I took it to the Apple Store, they told me it was going to be a $750 repair and that I "might as well buy a new Macbook" even though my actual hard drive was completely functional. Took it to Mactronics and they were able to do a repair over night for $97. The customer service reps are amazing too; Terri was so sweet and very informative. My computer malfunctioned at the worst time possible, and I ran to the Apple Store to get my computer fixed but was told it would take a couple days just to get in for an appointment. I then came to MacTronics and met Terri, who automatically made me feel better! The "service battery" warning was on in my MacBook Air. I called Apple for assistance and they told me because my computer was more than 5 years old (I brought it in 2013), it was considered VINTAGE so I needed to go to a licensed Mac repair shop to get it looked at. Terri was so helpful and friendly right away, took care of diagnostics quickly and very informative on cost and process for getting the replacement battery. Once the item came in, she was very communicative and flexible in coordination, and the work was done very quickly. Hopefully I don't have more repairs, but will return to MacTronics if I do. read more

They both acted very professionally and at the same time, I felt like I was with old friends. Upgraded a Mid-2010 iMac 27" a few months ago. 16GB Crucial Ram and 512 GB SSD. Shane knocked it out of the park. No complaints. He is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. **** One will not regret giving Shane their business. **** Turnaround time was about 2 days, which was very fast for my timeline at that point of the year. Labor cost was reasonable and far better than Best Buy anything for repairs. Apple itself won't even touch "other manufacturers parts". Something about a curse or hands rotting off in place...meh! Long story short, put down whatever BS you're doing and make it a priority to fix your broken or sick apple computer. Rejoin the functioning "Internet of things" :) Or pay full pop for a new computer and don't save money fixing or upgrading. Be reasonable though, there still is a cost. Whether you like, like it or like not like it. Upgrading and repairs aren't paid for with balls of artesian yarn or Madagascarian yak blankets. You'll be in good hands with Shane. read more

I went to Mactronics a couple of years ago when my hard-drive died. Terry was really helpful and saved what she could for me. Today I went with my new laptop and again, she was SO sweet! She spent about 30 minutes helping me get rid of some malware, told me what to do to back my machine up, and how to get everything running perfectly. Then, she refused payment!! I have a lot of Mac products and I was really worried when my Mac had an issue booting up and the online instructions to fix were not working. Mactronics was so great. I brought in my laptop and was very unsure about what was going on. My trackpad was not functioning and it seems as though it was just popped in and wasn't able to click. But the technician knew immediately it was because i had a swollen battery. He was very quick to call me back that same day and let me know that he could go ahead and order me a new battery. She kept me on top of what was going on the entire time because I had to wait a few days for Apple to ship out the battery and she would call me with updates. they were so great and now my laptop is working perfectly. They will tell you the best option (even if it means going to the apple store instead) to check your computer! Terri was so sweet and suggested I go to the apple store first since it would be the best deal for the issue I was having! She was extremely knowledgeable about the problems I had and guided me through the process of possibly even fixing it myself. They're unselfish and I felt as if they actually cared about treating my Macbook and their customers right. They workers there were really helpful on the phone before I went in and after I went in for the checkup for my 13inch macbook pro. They explained everything throughly for what they would do and several options of what I could do depending on the situation of my Macbook. They ended up restoring my macbook to its former glory in less than a day as well as informing me several times about what they were about to do to my macbook and if I was ok with it. The reason I am not giving it a 5 star is the price. $60 just to check it WITHOUT opening the computer even though I knew it was already something wrong internally with the macbook and so they taxed another $30 just to run a diagnosis. Normally a diagnosis should be minimal cost in my opinion because you don't even know if the problem with your mac can be fixed which means it is possible to just throw $90 at them so that they can tell you they don't know what's wrong. Overall though, they did fix my macbook and I am happy with the results. read more

MacTronics is a bit hard to find, but worth the search. The system board on my refurbished MacBook died 3 days before the 3 month warranty expired. Fortunately, I had AppleCare so I was covered either way, but they were able to turn the repair around in less than 24 hours. Polite, professional, and will definitely use them again! read more

I took my Macbook in for a repair that was not only ok'd by Apple, but was being paid for by Apple. I felt right away that they didn't want to do the repair, to the point of sending me out with my laptop. The person behind the counter seemed to go out of their way looking for dents, scratches, etc. I was told they would order the part from Apple and let me know the next day because the orders/shipping has to do with midnight. I received a call about an hour later telling me their tech wouldn't do the work because there was a small dent on 2 corners and they didn't want the liability. I had been to the Apple store where they had run a diagnostic and found there was a failed part on the mother board. This was included in the case report that I showed them, and they even knew about this being a problem with this type of Macbook. I then went to Compuzone on west 5th street. 27 hours later they had received the part, replaced the part, and handed me my laptop back. I decided to take my laptop to MacTronics based on a friends recommendation. The issue with my Macbook Pro: My screen kept freezing and finally after two weeks it just stopped booting up. Normally this would be a sensible conclusion that my hard drive was fried. However, I installed an SSD a few years ago and those things rarely crash. So I took it to MacTronics and explained that I wasn't sure what was wrong with the laptop but I assumed it was the hard drive even though it was SSD. I was informed for them to run an diagnostics test on the laptop it would cost me 60 bucks. If that came up with nothing they would need to open the laptop up that would be an additional 30 bucks. I received a call two days later and I was politely told that they couldn't find out what was wrong with my laptop but they assumed it was the hard drive. Which is what I assumed before I dropped my laptop off! They also told me that I was 90 bucks in so far and that the next step was to erase my hard drive and reformat it to see if it was actually the hard drive. The next step would cost me an additional 60 bucks bringing my total to 150 bucks. When I asked if erasing my data was necessary they told me yes in order to keep troubleshooting. I refused because I know that I can erase my own data, go to the Apple store and they can reformat my hard drive for free! So I picked up my laptop, paid 90 bucks, and went to the Apple store. First off, Apple ran two different diagnostics tests FOR FREE!!. They also told me that because I installed my own hard drive that the diagnostics test will always show my hard drive as an error so they were looking for other errors. They also agreed that SSD hard drives rarely crash so they wanted to take a look inside my Macbook Pro overnight FREE of charge. I got a call the next day from Apple saying my laptop was fixed by merely replacing the cable that connects the hard drive to the motherboard! Data Saved! And it cost me 57 bucks!! If you have an Apple device that is less than 6 years old DO NOT TAKE IT TO THIS PLACE unless you need data recovery. read more
