The attendant gave me her honest opinion of what is should do which was literally not a benefit to their business. She made it clear that it didn't make sense me fixing my computer (very likely the case) and this suggested I didn't pay the $65 diagnosis fee. Instead she even went as far as directed me to the apple store and pointed out how for a slightly increased price I could purchase a newer refurbished Computer. They didn't ask for money but they for sure got and beyond earned my trust. I will go here and refer people from here forward. read more

I was having a bad day the kind of day where youre on a job and you drop your laptop on ground and break it front of a client. I made an appointment with the geniuses but then thought I might be better served using someone independent and local. apple has enough of my Money and there is something I find appealing about spending money in my community and keeping it here in town. Anyway I call mactronics and the person I talked to was so plainly honest I drove straight over. When I got there Teresa informed me I had apple care when I'd been expecting to spend grand, which sent me in to tears of joy. (Bad day) The best way I can describe my experience is to say mactronics provide the type of service you were accustomed to 30yrs ago but simply doesn't exist anywhere anymore. A few hrs after dropping it off Teresa called me with an update. (Who does update calls anymore???) "Sara your part has been ordered and I need to confirm your cross street." (My cross street????) Yes they're planning to deliver your fixed laptop to your house. (Me: Tears again) I think these people might secretly be angels sent here to fix bad days. read more

TERI!!!! Is a GODDESS!!! Right in the middle of my busiest season at work my computer took an absolute shit. I had just returned from a work trip with a multitude of projects to finish and it simply wouldn't power on. From the moment she answered the phone Teri calmed my nerves telling me everything to expect regarding price as well as the process and approximate timeline of the repair itself. She bent over backwards to get my computer looked at immediately and made me feel so at ease. This is something that could have cost me my job and she had it back to me under 48 hours. Disclaimer: My MacBook was not serviced here due to needed timeframe, but the five stars is for the customer service and honesty. I originally went to another store who ended up being the highest quote to upgrade my hard drive. When I sat in my car and called around to different stories, dear Terry took my information and told me she'd call me back with quotes. I was already on my way to another store across town and was floored when she called back to tell me a workaround to get the hard drive installed (by them) at the cheapest price (by purchasing it online, versus through them or another store). Unfortunately, I was flying out the next morning so needed it taken care of ASAP. When everyone else's quotes were from $300-600 and she told me to buy hard drive online and they could do it for $100 or $150 (forgot) for labor, that's a pretty decent savings. This is an Apple Certified repair shop and they really know their stuff. I'm a 35 year Apple customer, unix guru and I am used to fixing my own computers. I accidentally dropped my MacBook Pro and thought I was going to have to purchase a brand new one. I took it to local popular electronic repair place and was quoted $750 for a screen replacement. On my first day of the school year, I left an open water bottle in my backpack with my macbook pro. My macbook pro had water damage and my first instinct was to take it to the apple store. It took me days to find an available appointment, and then once I got one, I was given confusing estimates on how much it would cost to fix. I was never given a definite cost and then was also told that my data may not be recovered. Even though I was unsure about the cost, I agreed to the repair and have it fixed. ... 2 weeks later I got a call that my macbook still had not been touched and that they had given me the wrong estimate and it would actually cost 400$ more than my original estimate. Frustrated, I picked up my laptop and took it to Mactronics. I was greeted by Terry who was so friendly and helpful, unlike the service I had received at the Apple Store. She told me that she could perform a data recovery service that would recover all my files (yay!) but told me that to save money, if I wanted my laptop to be repaired it would cost less to take it to the Apple store. When she told me this, I could tell how much she cares about her customers and is NOT trying to rip them off. I agreed to the data recovery and decided to buy a used laptop instead. The data recovery only took 1 business day! Amazing. The cost came out to $250, but I got a 10% student discount and also $50 off because her technician wanted to retrieve a useable part from my laptop that was worthless to me! Y'ALL GO TO MACTRONICS. Seriously. Forget any other options this is where you want to go. I recently spilt water on my MacBook Pro 15 inch and was absolutely DEVASTATED when it immediately shut off and remained unresponsive because I thought I was going to lose everything (I know nothing about backups or clouds or really computers in general, but I knew my life was on that stupid machine). I went to the Apple store and was quoted roughly $1300 for repairs; as a nearly broke college kid this was absolutely not doable. I called MacTronics, voice wavering because hi I'm twenty years old and emotional and had no idea what to do, and was immediately comforted by Terri, one of the MacTronics workers, who reassured me that everything would be okay. She held my hand through the entire process and genuinely made me feel fully informed and fully comforted (lol obviously a traumatic experience for me...whatevz). Not only was my data fully transferred to an external hard-drive within a day, but my computer was returned to me in only a few days fully functioning, no part replacement necessary. Double thumbs up to MacTronics. My girlfriend spilled beer on my Macbook Air while it was on. After drying it out with rock salt it worked for a while, but after a rain and lots of moisture in the air it began to shut off sporadically (right around final exams). I did some research and was under the impression that I would need to replace the battery (which would have costed $129. Way better than buying a new computer). After searching around for a good repair shop, and getting rejected at Compuzone, I stumbled across the awesome yelp reviews for MacTronics and gave them a call. The man that answered was super knowledgeable and sincere. He told me that he sees cases like this all the time, and that based on my computers symptoms, it is probably not the battery, but rather the mechanism that turns on the battery. He said a good internal cleaning might be enough to fix the problem. I thanked him kindly, and decided to give his advice a shot on my own. I ordered the specialty pentalobe screwdriver to open the Macbook air 2012, I sprayed it out with duster, disconnected the battery, brushed the battery connection with a new toothbrush, and reconnected. The computer turned on with one button push, and is currently working like a charm. I feel bad that I didn't contribute a dime to this company, so I wrote this review instead. I fear words cannot due justice to how incredible this shop is. As much of a bummer as it was having my MacBook Pro die on me right after Christmas, Terri at MacTronics made the experience of getting it repaired a million times better with her incredible customer service, expertise, and rapid response. I debated whether to take my computer to the Apple store or find a local authorized service shop. I went with the latter hoping the service might be better, and I am so very happy I made that choice. They bent over backwards to fix it for me as quickly as possible, even during the holidays, and treated me like royalty throughout the process. Terri followed up every day via email and phone to keep me updated on the status and make sure I knew what was happening every step of the way. When I took the computer in, it took Terri all of 2 seconds to diagnose the issue (a cracked screen due to a webcam cover). She was so kind and made me feel like she truly cared about my problem and making sure I was as happy as possible. Mrs U's LaCie external hard drive was literally fried by a recent power cut. Shane at Mactronics opened it up and it had smoke stains on the chassis and the main power strip was melted! Well, needless to say, Mrs U is not much for backing up (seeing as how this IS her backup!) and all her work files were contained herein. So, it was imperative to either repair or attempt data recovery. Shane extracted everything from the disk and loaded the shebang to another drive for us. Saves the day... again! read more

Needed a new battery for my MacBook Pro Laptop, and I got one lickety-split. :-) My message (I'd called before they opened) was returned promptly. Terri walked me through finding the serial number so she could check inventory and price for the correct battery before I made a trip over. After hearing the price ($139 plus tax, same as Apple Store), I went online and found a "compatible" OEM battery for $35, but after reading the mixed reviews, I decided to buy an official Apple battery. Terri tested my computer to make sure that the only reason my laptop hadn't started was a dead battery. Great professional, warm and friendly service! Not so fast. I took my 17" MacBook Pro which I love and is discontinued. Of course the first thing they say is that it's been dropped. All laptops have something on the case that's not showroom perfect. Don't listen to this. They immediately make you feel you did something wrong. The screen was flashing pink. $90 down, $599 for part and another $125 plus tax for labor. I took it to Mr. Notebook for a second opinion. It's not the screen at all it's the board. Where wild ride would MacTronics have taken me on? Experience wins the day on laptop repair just be very weary.
