I just left the shop on 15th st (dt Austin). I LOVE these guys. They are quick, knowledgeable, inexpensive and most importantly HONEST. It's refreshing, especially after dealing with the "geniuses" at Apple where it seems as though the solution to every problem is a new iPhone. I refused to believe a hairline 1/8 inch crack in screen doomed me to spend 1/2 a paycheck on a new phone. A co-worker told be to come to "uBreakiFix" when my tpuch screen was not responding. Apple insisted that it was a "motherboard issue" that reqd a new phone. uBreakiFix wasn't surprised to hear the "genius'" take. After trying all they could to save me from having to pay them a DIME, uBreakiFix replaced the screen for about $150 (OLED). I came in today, frantic, bc I need my cell to login. I had updated new iOS and my phone was unresponsive afterwards (apparently an issue with many iPhones updating to 16.?). Forced restart didn't work/charge/nothing. I wasn't feeling too optimistic when I dropped it off at 4pm. They ran diagnostics on my 14+ (free) and told me that they'd have it fixed or have an answer for me in 1-1.5 hrs. When I returned it was working like a charm. The county IT dept couldn't do it but these guys/girls did. They said it was a simple fix, appreciated my return business and I walked out...NO CHARGE. My phone was broken. Half the screen would not type. Two green light lines bisected the screen. I was locked out because I could not type my passcode on the partially dead screen. Repair job was great and my phone is working well since I had them fix it. I paid $163 to repair a severely damaged iPhone XR screen, which seems fair to me. Loss of one star is for two things 1. They sent me a text to let me know the repair was done... on my cell phone. You can see how that is a bit curious because if my phone is there how am I gonna see the text lol? I don't have a mac and even if I did the text was SMS so I'm not sure it would have shown up on there but I digress, email would've been better though. 2. The $20 car mount i purchased was just a complete piece of junk that fell off the window as soon as I reversed out of my parking spot. Not entirely their fault as they're just the storefront but yeah I wouldn't recommend that particular accessory as it almost made me need repair services again lol. Do not do any business with Asurion for any reason. Their screen repair goes like this - they send someone to you house, if they break your phone (like they did my back) they tell you to "call Asurion for a new phone." Dude. I can't you broke the phone. He left. I should have called the cops for vandalism. The $29 charge turned into a $200 charge. Then it was "we will credit your bill," Credit never came. A junk remanufactured phone showed up. That worked 15 days and stopped making nor receiving calls. Let us send you a new phone. If you break a phone, plan on 6 to 8 hours of nonsense dealing with these clowns. It's clear cut consumer fraud. read more

My gaming computer was completely broken, including dead battery, two broken fans, poor cooling liquid/paste, bad power adapter, They were able to fix all of these things and did additional investigation after the computer was still over heating to find the CPU also needed liquid metal paste/cooling and gave that to me on the house. Was worried I would need to buy a new gaming laptop but instead am able continue using my Asus and the repairs were a great price! Asus also quoted me 85$ just for the diagnostic, while asurion/ubreakifix was a free diagnostic!!! Would strongly recommend! read more

I had a broken screen I needed fixed, and so I came here to get that done. However, they gave me my phone and the screen became detached within a day or two. I brought it back and they tried to fix it but couldn't. They didn't offer me a discount for the shoddy fix. I suggested that double sided tape might fix it but they advised against it for some reason. Worse, after a couple months of using this shoddy phone with a loose screen, one of the screws came loose and my phone got really fritzy. I didn't realize it was a problem with the screw until it actuall came out. While it was out behind the screen, trying to use the phone by pressing on the screen pressed the screw into the screen and damaged the screen. This is only like 2 months after getting this thing. Now its completely ruined. How hard is it to make sure a screw is tight? I'm super disappointed with their service and the quality of their work. I'll certainly never come back here to get my phone "fixed" again. read more

Ended up getting my stuff back and took one down the street to The Computer Repair Connection; Austin's Premier Computer Repair Shop and they were able to get me a brand new OEM part to fix my computer back to how I'd like it for under 300 bucks. I really didn't feel Brian started it off right, so looked around to find them. They called me the same day with an actual quote to confirm to order the part and said they'd have it ready the same day the part came in. Brandon was awesome, but ended up letting me know it would be about $200 more than the original quote of around $725 dollars to fix two HP Spectre touch screens and an S6 cracked screen. I had figured the more business I bring them the better the deal...but almost a thousand bucks to fix 3 screens is a little more than I'd ever want to spend. I understand it's a business and was told how nice and expensive my comps were; but then when offered a price for one, as I was told the day before by Brandon that they actually buy computers as well so figured I'd entertain an offer of a computer that retails for about $1300 new. I was told due to the condition of the computer I would only be able to be given 150 bucks for it. Lets start off with Brian: So I drove into town to bring my stuff for repair and was excited to walk in the door. After looking at them Brian told me he found one for $107, (I said...hmm, must be an FHD screen) and could fix it for $280. Then said he was having trouble finding the other one, but finally did and said it could be fixed for $5 less for $275. When he wrote down the $275 for the first one I spoke up as he started to tell me the price and mentioned you had said $285 to see his response. I guess he liked my quote better as he wrote it up for $284.99, I suppose forgetting the $5 difference. I was just checking to see if I would be corrected. Then I brought up that I had thought I talked to them the day before and was told it would only be $99 to fix, plus price of the part. He told me no, that they don't quote over the phone. That had me wondering at that time whom I might have talked to. I was also told it would be around $120-$160 to fix the S6, or $80-$110 to retrieve the data. He mentioned they would have to buy a screen to retrieve the data. I went ahead and took the quote to leave my stuff there to get fixed on 3/13/2020. Shortly after I left I called back after I found out who I had spoke with the day before and let them know I would like to come back and get my stuff if they already hadn't ordered as they'd repair my computers for a flat fee of $99 per computer. He said that that's about the price we would do it for as the replacement part would be $170. So I had asked; then I suppose it's the QHD screen for that price and if so then I'll just have them do it for a better quality screen and that was about that. I was also told that since I'm bringing in the three items he had spoke with his manager and was able to get the S6 fixed for me for $110, so I was like, works for me, thanks. That brought my total to around $725 after taxes out the door. On 3/17/2020 around noon I called them to get an idea of when everything would be ready and actually got Brandon, the owner, on the phone and explained my concerns with Brian. He was really cool and glad I brought this to his attention and told me he was going to look into this to get me actual numbers and call me back. About 5:30pm I got a call back from Brian and was told they actually ordered the wrong replacements and that it was actually going to be $260-$280 per assembly, plus labor for my computers and that the S6 was quoted wrong as well and would be $199 to be fixed. I told him that's alright and would be by in the morning to pickup my stuff and Brandon was cool with that. He is a really cool guy and very informative as I was pleased to speak with him, except for the price difference and delay for their mistake that I just had to accept without any remedy offered. After taxes I would have spent almost $1,000 to fix the three screens back to working order. read more

I couldn't figure out why, and I thought I was losing my mind... then I saw the left side of my screen had just popped up. No drop, no sitting on it, it had just worked itself out of "socket". I pushed it back in rather easily, which tells me there's probably little-to-no adhesive holding my screen in place. This is absolutely stupid. I can't believe that this place is still in business with this stupid-level of quality. ***ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW*** These people are incompetent, they lie, and it's barely cheaper than taking your iPhone to the Apple Store. Sure, Apple are a bunch of lying thieves who knowingly release broken products, but it's only a few bucks more, their morals are the same as this company, and they'll eventually give you a new phone if they screw up too many times. A co-worker broke my iPhone 7Plus screen when they picked up my phone to answer a call from our boss. He dropped it when trying to hang it up?... found out later he was a tweaker, so there you go. My screen cracked hard. I brought it here, based on reviews, because I REFUSE to upgrade my phone because A) The podcast app in later IOS versions is totally broken, because Apple sucks, and B) I don't like change, and I'm stalling having to figure out Android. It took the guy multiple tries to get the screen to seat at all. The first two times it looked like the new screen was on top of the old screen because it was sitting up that high. This took several times to fix because, every time, there were little bits of glass and old glue he has to clean out. The tech did ZERO prep before installing the new screen. I finally left, figuring my phone wasn't water-resistant anymore, but I've always gone out of my way to not test that feature. What really kills me is that I finally uninstalled a game today (Fallout Shelter is a great idea with a moron's execution), because I got tired of the constantly broken updates. And I uninstalled it immediately (After I spent $200 for content, because I'm a genius)! As soon as I did, I remembered that I had turned off the 3D Touch because the game flat-out wouldn't work with it on. I MISSED the 3D Touch feature, so I turned it on... and it doesn't work. This screen, apparently, doesn't have that feature. I spent good money to have a GUARANTEED screen replacement, and it appears they gave me a screen that isn't an actual replacement. But I didn't check the 3D Touch feature until after the warranty period has passed, so why bother to even call with a complaint? I can't say, factually, what they'll say; but I feel safe in assuming that they'll tell me where I can stick my phone now. "The 3D-Touch doesn't work on my phone", "When did you get your phone fixed?", "A couple months ago, but I was still playing Fallout Shelter and just uninstalled it because I got sick of paying hundreds of dollars on a game that barely works, because I'm a super genius.", "It's after the warranty period, so stick the phone up your YEAH!", "Yup, that's what I figured. So now I have a decision of whether I sue you over $120, or live with it until I finally buy an Android phone.", "Exactly, so go fornicate with yourself."... And that was my imaginative theatre production of my hypothetical exchange with uBreakiFix. I sincerely miss my Samsung N400 in limited-edition blue. I, accidentally, washed that phone four times, ran it through the dryer four times, and dropped it in Galveston Bay once, and it still worked so hard that I sold it four years after I bought it. Screw this rip-off joint. If you have an iPhone, don't try and save the $40, and just take your phone to the Apple Store. uBreakiFix hasn't snuck into my home to defecate in my bed and shave my dog, but I also cannot swear that they didn't think about doing it. From my experience, they will charge you nearly the same price as the Apple Store and totally screw up your phone. Now, granted, the Apple Store will probably say that your phone has water damage even if you live in the middle of the Mojave Desert, but I'll go through them first the next time I need a repair, then do my research better the next time I try a third-party repair service after Apple tells me that I have water damage. Brandon was helpful, informative, responsive, and understood it's the little things that make service excellent instead of just good. I took my Google Pixel XL 1 from 2016 into uBreakiFix to replace the battery. My phone would not hold a charge, but I wasn't ready to buy a new phone. COVID has delayed the release of the phone I want to buy. I needed to have my phone functional until the Fall/Spring. Not to mention, I'm going overseas in the Fall (fingers crossed) and cannot afford to have a phone that requires recharging every few hours. Especially, when electricity won't be readily available during the day. I took my phone in and within a couple of hours I had it back with the new battery. The phone kept a charge beautifully. However, between being an old phone with the beginnings of burn in on the screen, and the heat required to take the phone apart to exchange the battery the screen began to show new burn in (purple marks) right after I got home. By the end of the night the screen was black and unusable. I called Brandon before the store opened the next morning, but didn't leave a message. As soon as they opened Brandon called back my phone number. I explained what had happened and asked if he would be willing to split the cost of a new screen. He didn't miss a beat and said absolutely. My phone had a new screen by the end of the day. As for the little things, Brandon didn't have to call back an unknown number nor share in the cost of replacing the phone's screen, but he did.
