Problem 1: Open-ended commitment on diagnosis and repair time (Fan Replacement on the MSI estimated to take up to 2 weeks). Juan finally told us that they offer 1-day service as an option. Problem 2: Poor detail management. We had to remind Juan to return the charger for the LG. Problem 3: Shop was supposed to open at 10AM and we were told at 10:05 that he was 10-15minutes away. Problem 4: Juan was marginally polite but clearly was not customer friendly. Our Laptops' Status (owner remedies): 1. MSI FAN NOISE: MSI is still functional and sit's on a Large FAN Cooling platform and occasionally makes a bearing squeek. A check for Fan availability shows 5-14day availability (ships from China). Juan, a good customer service approach would have been to just be up front with the parts availability! 2. LG Gram BlueScreen: Using the Windows11 Restore routine after backing up personal files fixed the problem. Juan wanted several hundred dollars to do this including CPU cooling maintenance. Aren't there diagnostics routines that could be used first to confirm that overheating is actually an issue?

They transferred our data to this newer machine, installing Windows 11, which resulted in a common problem: only one of us (the original "administrator") could now open their documents. When we went back for help on this issue, the Repair Connection specialist washed his hands from it. He'd been paid already. Beyond that point he didn't seem to care. We ended up finding Frankenstein in North Austin, quite far from our home, but oh, such a difference in expertise and attitude! Problem solved, first trying to fix it remotely and failing, then taking old and new computer to Frankenstein. I do not intend to return to Computer Repair Connection. Maybe Frankenstein will open a branch in South Austin in the future. I would love to have that happen. Sara

I brought my functional, charging iPhone 15 here for a routine battery replacement (health was at 78%). The new battery they put in failed to charge properly. Because their replacement part was defective, I requested that they reinstall my original battery. They handed the phone back to me and charged me a $20 "restocking fee." Assuming the replacement of the old battery was handled correctly, I left--only to discover on my drive home that the phone was completely broken, permanently stuck at 1%, and refusing to accept any charge. Their technicians obviously physically damaged the internal data lines or motherboard connectors while prying out or forcing my original battery back in, rendering a working phone completely dead. When confronted by phone, they refused to take responsibility. They claimed their replacement part wasn't defective because they "couldn't replicate the problem" in their testing, and then tried to get me to come back to the shop just to "prove" the original battery was inside. I know the original battery is inside--the problem is that their technicians physically broke it during the extraction. I walked in with a working phone and walked out with a dead brick, wasting two hours total of my time, paying a $20 "restocking" fee and now forced to pay a $275 insurance deductible to fix their mistake. Avoid this shop at all costs--they will ruin your device and blame the hardware instead of their own workmanship.

I sent my 16 inch MacBook Pro to Rossman Repair Group in Mid December, 2025. My laptop had died,…read moreunable to reboot about a week after updating the OS. The Genius Bar at Apple told me it could not be repaired and I would need to replace the Logic Board for $850 or "just buy a new one." A local (Orange County) 3rd party repair shop, after having it for a week, told me it couldn't be repaired. I then went to Reddit for help and suggestions. There were several referrals to Rossmann Repair Group. I contacted them through their online contact form. They immediately messaged with a few more questions and then gave me the necessary details to send my device to them in Austin. I did so - of course, the holidays slowed things down a bit, but by the second week in January, I received word that my lap top had been successfully repaired, losing NONE of my data. Amazing! The cost? A mere $459 which includes shipping back (USPS) to me, signing at delivery. I did have go pay for shipping to get it to them. Totally worth it to me. To insure safe and speedy delivery, signing upon delivery, to them. I paid about $89 for UPS, not including double boxing and bubble wrap. So, in total, I paid $638, for shipping to, repair, shipping back. I didn't lose ANY of my data. I am sooo happy and thankful to Rossmann Repair Group. Thank you!!!

After about 5 minutes he came back stating the power rail was broken, but I did not proceed with the repair, as the cost of repair was more than the value of the laptop. The quote was half of Apple's quote and came with a guarantee if that I will not pay if they can't successfully fix it. This is miles better than the Apple store as they would make you wait over 15 minutes even though you had an appointment just for the "genius" to say you need to quote an $800 logic board replacement. Best of all there was a cool painting of Clinton the cat!
