I have mixed feelings on this place. My iPhone screen had a tiny crack last year, that has since grown and ended up causing lines in the LED screen. I took it here because we have had such great service here in the past with the phones of my 3 now grown kiddos throughout high school and beyond. I go in and Shane was so awesome and friendly and got my phone fixed in less than an hour. It was fantastic! I use my phone all day every day for clients and was so happy to have a screen without lines. That being said, my screen has been acting up; certain spots on the screen don't respond, I am texting and weird letters and nonsense come up, scrolling can be impossible at times. I stopped back in and talked with a different person at the shop. He acted like I was a nuisance. I was lectured, heavy sighs... made to feel like I was being ridiculous because I expected the screen to work properly. Basically, told to go to apple if I wanted a screen that worked. I said I'd give it a few days and see if things changed. They haven't. While I received great customer service with Shane and it was cost effective, how is it really cost effective if my screen malfunctions and I'm treated like I'm absurd for reaching back out to question if maybe this particular screen is defective? Again, I use this for my business and need my phone to work well. I plan to go back tomorrow sometime and hope that Shane will be there again and maybe make some headway. I'll update my review after stopping back in and working with someone else. read more

Quick and friendly service, and they did a great job fixing my phone screen. I scheduled an appointment and even arrived on the wrong date, but they took care of me anyway. My only issue was the parking in the Guadalupe location. I was forwarded here by iFix the other day. They initially offered a 24h turn around, but called me the next day to push it a day due to staffing issues. I tried to call 48h after drop off and couldn't get them on the phone. 2h later they finally picked up, only to inform me it wouldn't be ready until the following morning. Upon pickup, I asked what kind of discount they could offer due to the double delay and was denied any consolation. I then checked the iPad and found it at 4% battery. Thanks y'all! I wouldn't recommend going here, they don't seem conscientious or diligent in their craft. I took my phone in to get a broken screen repaired. When I went to collect it, I was informed that it was overheating as they charged it (and was hot when they handed it back to me), which it had never done before they had it in their possession. I was subsequently not able to charge the phone at all. I took it back in and was informed that there was now somehow also a problem with the charging port or battery and that it would be fixed the next day. On coming back to collect it again, I was informed that there was now inexplicably 'mother board damage' and that nothing more could be done because the phone was shorting out and overheating. They put the old cracked screen back on as a nice favor also. So essentially, I brought them a working phone with a cracked screen and got back a dead phone with a cracked screen. Of course they will deny that it was anything they did. They did refund what I had initially payed. I had to give one star to post this but I wouldn't have otherwise.I read more

The repair on my laptop ended up being LESS THAN HALF of the estimated price, I walked in and got a refund bc the deposit was more than enough, how great is that! They returned the pc in great condition in my opinion and everything is running smoothly. Recently brought my PS4 in for them to take a look; My console had been starting but no image was shown on the tv, only audio. The guy immediately said it needed a replacement HDMI port after taking a look at my system for 5 seconds. He quoted me $150. It ended up being a setting that was wrong between the TV and console. Highly impressed by the service at 1Up! It's never fun to have a cracked screen, especially on a Saturday night. I found 1Up online and made an appointment for first thing Sunday. They give you a 10% off coupon for making an appointment, and make sure to get you right in, and out! They had my repair done in less than 15 minutes, and it only cost $67 for an iPhone 7 screen repair. They didn't mind me bringing my dog in with me either on a very hot day. I highly recommend them and would definitely use them again, and refer anyone in need! After checking my phone and assessing the condition of the battery, I was advised that it does not need to be replaced now, and I would not get good value from a replacement at this time. Very overdue review, but my first visit was in 2015 when my laptop was basically nonfunctional. when I had taken it for repairs in the past, I went to the campus computer store, but the problems always returned eventually. The final straw was when they told me how they didn't really know exactly what the problem was and said they just "reformatted" my system and reinstalled windows, which is something I could have done if they told me that was what they were going to do. When I finally brought my laptop to 1Up repairs, I got my laptop returned not long afterwards and paid a very reasonable price. I got another 3 years out of my laptop with no incident! They gave me a very thorough explanation of their professional observation, a lot of which honestly flew over my head, but I understood it was a hardware problem that the campus computer would have never discovered. Years later, my motherboard was basically broken because I didn't take care of it and constantly left it on overnight while it overheated. I brought it in again to confirm that was the problem and figure out how to make sure I got my files recovered. I had a lot of questions about how to move forward with my day and exploring what options I had. I feel very sorry that I ended up not needing their services and basically got a free consultation from their experts, which I consider a big deal since our lives are so reliant on our electronics and we all need to figure out what to do when our computer breaks. Everyone here is very nice and they even invited me to the back while they took a look at my laptop. There's a diverse group of guys back there, but all give excellent customer service. I do believe that sometimes a bad experience can come about from conflicting personalities given the diverse set of workers. My personal favorite employee is a down-to- business, no B.S. kind of man, which some customers might react poorly to, but I appreciate it because I need my laptop fixed and get back to business and get work done as soon as possible. I went there last Saturday. I caught the guys having a smoke break outside. They assured me they'd be right in. They came in less than a minute later, didn't even take time for a mint, and asked me how they could help. I told them I broke the screen on my Galaxy Note 9. Immediately, the guy groaned. Repairing the screens on the 9s are expensive, he said, around $300. It would take a long time, I would need to leave it with them, they'd have to order the part, it would be a big deal. He said, and I'm quoting, that I should just "...rock it until it stops." I thanked him and left. I told my roommate about it when I got home and he called them the anti-salesmen.
