Wow, this place has gone downhill big-time. Its only been a year, 2 years tops, since I last dined here. Maybe they're under new ownership? Anyway, they used to have the best fried zuchini, ordered it today ... awful. Instead of bread crumbs, now its battered. And I'm not kidding, a few of them were almost an inch thick, so too hard to cut. And no flavor. The other thing I really used to like was their side salad. It used to come on a cold plate and the dressing was always mixed in and so yummy. No cold plate, dressing was mixed in but had no flavor and the lettuce seemed like a store bough mix. This place is overpriced! I called to ask how much a grilled cheese is and they told me $7..and that was with no side! I was at work and wanted one. Definitely wasn't going to pay that much for it. My mom and I came here on a Friday night for their full rack of ribs. Oh wee! Those ribs were flavorful and delicious! It came with a choice of two sides so we got garlic mashed potatoes and baked beans. They were okay. The clientele is mostly older folks and the ambiance is like a diner. It's a chill spot for a chill night. And the ribs were delicious!! Oh and they serve you fresh baked French bread straight from the oven with butter while you are waiting for your meal. Well, the boycott is back on. The last couple of times we have eaten here, we noticed a decline in the quality of the food. Last night we had dinner and it was beyond bad. I tried to be safe and ordered a cheese burger with bacon. Both the beef and bacon tasted old and gross. I barely got a few bites down and I'm not a picky eater. My wife had a tuna melt. She didn't hate it but I thought it was mediocre. Even their once wonderful crispy fries were not quite as good. I wonder what changed. On the positive side the drinks were large and cheap. The regulars are fun and friendly. We will continue to drink there. It is unfortunate we can't enjoy some food with our drinks. See previous 4 star review below. read more

Lulu's has always been one of my family's favorite go to places. They have a huge menu with a great variety of food...something for everyone! They even offer some hard to find items like Monte Cristos or broasted chicken. The portions here are huge...you definitely won't be going home hungry! The staff here is always friendly and attentive. They have all worked there for as long as I can remember and you can tell that they really care about their restaurant and your experience. Their food is great and I have never tried anything I didn't like. All of their food is great, but I especially recommend their breakfasts. They run great specials and the portions are huge! I usually go to Lulus for the great breakfasts. But today I got a late start and had the Memphis BBQ that they now offer. I had the ribs and they didn't disappoint. They literally were falling off the bone onto my fork. Nice flavor and very filling. I've been coming here a long time and the staff and owner (Mike) are all fantastic. I'm not gonna lie- exterior-wise, this place looks rough. My family and I were looking for a spot to eat after visiting another family member at the hospital and LuLu's came up. A few of them recalled eating there way back in the day and thought a trip down memory lane wouldn't hurt. So, we went in and what you walk into is sort of a cross between Denny's and Lancers (corporate diner and not so corporate diner). The food was good-- had the Cajun tilapia-- but what made this experience worth while was the service from Lisa. Because of her, we might just be back. She was on top of it and got into our conversational jive as if she were not just meant to serve our table, but be a part of it as well. Really appreciated that. read more

Worst breakfast ever. We ordered the eggs Benedict and corn beef hash. The eggs Benedict the eggs were over cooked the hollandaise sauce had to taste and was watery and the bread was soggy. This place is a hidden gem. The brisket sandwich and ribs are delicious! Their coleslaw is the best in LA and their service is amazing! Our server was named Melanie and she really went above and beyond with everything. She should get a raise! We will definitely be back to see Melanie and also try other items on the menu. read more

I've been there twice and the food was delicious both times. The waiter (I don't remember his name) remembered me and my girl the second time and even knew what we ordered previously. I haven't been in 5 years or so, so I don't know if the staff, restaurant and food is still the same or not. Breakfast used to be pretty good and reasonably priced, don't know if it still is...home fries were tasty, ask for em crispy. The thing I remember the most probably are the home made zuchini and onion rings and their home made dressing they served as a dipping sauce...a bleu cheese ranch mixture, so if that is still the same, try that-or get that dressing tossed on a dinner salad........AMAZING!!!!!! Lulu's is a perfect place, the ownership and the staff go out of there way to meet the customer's need. They have food for everyone. Vegan's are welcome. The chef will go out of their way to accommodate your dietary needs. Best thing about Lulu's is that food is actually delicious. read more

I can't say much about this place because it has been so long since I have been there. But I can say that I have been there about 4 times, tried something different EVERY time, and every time it has sucked. It is overpriced and not good. It is like a glorified Denny's.... althought I would actually eat at Denny's. The service is not that great there either. You would be better off at the McDonald's express that is in the Home Depot accross the street, or the Wendy's that is next door. Actually, ya, screw McDonald's... go to Wendy's. read more

We have a monthly meeting at Lulu's I believe it has new owners that are trying to make it a better place. Staff is friendly I have only tried the chicken wrap which at times is bland. They have a nice bar area with plenty of tv's for viewing sports. read more

What an experience at this restaurant. Waited over an hour for our food after it was ordered. Food arrived cold, hair in the eggs, my grandsons scrambled eggs were runny. Ordered breakfast of Chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs, hash browns, English muffin and two pancakes with link sausage. Lately they keep changing the suppliers or brands of food they use (not sure why) so it seems you don't know if the food will taste the same as the last time I had their food delivered. Todays order came without any utensils, butter/margarine for the pancakes, or ketchup/catsup for the eggs and hash browns. There was hash browns mixed into everything. In my eggs and in the pancakes. The pancake syrup tasted strange, almost like a flowery or perfumed taste/odor. The link sausage tasted odd (too much sage possibly). The pancakes tasted of something else that was cooked on the grill before (one pancake had the odd taste and the other did not). Did not bother calling, why make them drive out to me for utensils, butter/margarine, and packets of ketchup. I used to order a side of ham and it was pretty good but they changed to a processed ham roll and it is too salty and greasy so I stopped ordering the ham... shame the other ham was really good. I rely on a restaurant having consistent recipes and suppliers. I don't want to be "surprised" by the taste of the food and then have to deal with getting a refund or replacement. Really too bad because in the past I liked their food. Unfortunately, they are the only ones delivering on a Saturday/Sunday at 8am. Guess I will just have to have cold cereal like I do every morning and skip this once or twice a month treat. Being in a wheelchair and having to take the bus everywhere makes dining out a real pain. I should not have to call every time I order to make sure they read the special request note for extra ketchup. read more

Big fan of Lulu's. The food is better than you expect from a 'coffee shop', and the staff is great. The buffalo wings in particular were a big surprise. HOLY GUAC A MOLE! This place is freaking awesome! I didn't dine in, i ordered it straight from yelp. The service was phenomena in the way the delivery guy greated me. He was in a really good mood and was very talkative (which I don't mind) Gave the man a tip due to the food beinh organized neatly as well as still being warm. Primarily I had called in and asked a few questions to make sure I knew what I was getting into! I ordered the sampler AND HOLY COW! This thing was meant for like 3 people! Don't eat at the restaurant very often but I do use the catering service regularly. The food is always delicious and plentiful. The menu is varied enough to keep my guests interested and I get compliments each time we use them. The catering manager (Debbie) is right on the money. Pleasant, efficient, thorough and works her magic with any request I have. I've been a client of Debbie's for over 4 years now and couldn't imagine using Lulu's without her. The deliver staff is top notch, pleasant and efficient, on time and knowledgeable about the food. All in all, I don't and wouldn't use anyone else besides Debbie and Lulu's. read more

This place wasn't THAT bad. The service I had (twice) was ordinary but good. The food was pretty decent. When my family comes to town it's hard for us to find a restaurant that can seat us all (12) and when we went to Lulu's they had a seat quick and the service was good. If I were to compare it to Denny's I'd say they're about the same. Granted the Denny's chain is a bit "nicer" as far as decor goes, but Lulu's is just fine and it's clean. read more
