Yes they deserve 5 stars. The hospitality, food and service is unbeatable. I ordered the eggs and steak for breakfast and its was stupendous. I was served the juiciest, most flavorful steak, tenderized to perfection. I love steak and have tried many at steak houses prized from the high to lows and you can't beat Lulus eggs and steak with hash browns and a tall stack of pancakes. The service is wonderful, especially Mike, he greets you with a smile and tender eyes, you can see the kindness on his face. He makes you feel like family and he welcomes you in his home. I've since returned many times, the owner Michael has addressed the issues with me and the kitchen and this has not been an issue since then, and I am satisfied it will not be an issue in the future. Since they revamped this place I've been very pleased. The manager is very prompt to serving and ordering quickly and friendly. I sat in last time but yesterday I ordered delivery because I was at work. Me and my co worker ordered sandwiches and the fries came warm for once which you don't get at any delivery place. Sadly, I recently moved to the Bay Area after living in L.A. my whole life and I can honestly says that I miss Lulu's. I grew up going to Lulu's for the awesome breakfast (the french toast is the best with raisins and cinammon!!!) and I haven't been able to find another restaurant since that cures my cravings as well as Lulu's. Aside from the delicious breakfast, they have a HUGE menu full of delicious items like sandwiches, salads, etc. The appetizers are REALLY good too like the mozzarella cheese sticks and the potato skins. Anyway, I would highly recommend that you check it out....hopefully I'll be going down to L.A. soon and while I'm in town, I'm for sure stopping by my favorite ol' restaurant. read more

Yay! No need to head into LA for chicken and waffles, Lulu's on Roscoe easily makes the grade here. So happy I could order only dark meat! The fried chicken was very good, crispy crust (but not too thick), tender and juicy inside. The only waffle also excellent with a light powdered sugar topping. Every single thing I is delicious and a good portion. Everyone loves my little find I read facebook and look at karaoke night and my favorite nite Saturday jazz. Wow, only if I could go this would be a place where everyone would know my name, I be a loco, I mean a local!! So many things this family restaurant does makes the feeling of the family. Ok wow!!!! I haven't been inside but I order through a third party, delivery was so fast. I ordered the breakfast burrito and some mozzarella sticks. That was the best breakfast burrito I have ever had. And I know there are a lot of breakfast spots, but it was over filled with meat and cheese and eggs. So I went to this restaurant was seated,and I sat around for 20 minutes waiting for somebody to take my order. So after that I went up to the counter and said I just want to pay for my coffee and they asked what was wrong and I said apparently I can't get any service. So I informed them I just want to pay for my coffee and leave, and I informed them that I will never come back to this establishment again for the way I was treated, and if they're willing to treat a customer like that what are they willing to do to the food,so basically they took a great family restaurant and made it into a joke. This is a review for the "pulled pork sandwich" and nothing else. I had it delivered through Postmates and let me give you forewarning....it was TRASH. The "pulled pork" had an awkward and almost mushy texture. I couldn't figure out if the pulled pork was too salty our sour(it honestly could have been both) but regardless, I could only eat it after masking the flavor with BBQ sauce. Lastly, the bread was this long and flimsy unappetizing mess. I ate 25% before I tossed it. Food: it was noontime but I ordered an omelet...Lulu Scramble. It was good. I can see myself having it again. I was able to substitute for egg whites and further change out potatoes and bread for cottage cheese and tomatoes. My boyfriend's crepes were overcooked and more like tortillas. Price: good. I was craving fried chicken and saw that it was their # 1 dish on Yelp. It looked really good in the Yelp photos so we drove all the way from Studio City to try it. First thing I noticed when the waitress brought the plate were the veggies that had been sitting around for heaven knows how long! They were overcooked and were inedible. Just mushy vegetables. They were probably sitting in one large oblong pan in the kitchen and just dished out when needed. The chicken was crispy and looked good until the first bite. No salt, no seasoning, whatsoever! And I only use very little salt in my food and I'm also a cook, but this was beyond bland. It literally tasted like they got the chicken, didn't season it, threw it in flour that was unseasoned, and cooked it. I've never had such bland and tasteless fried chicken in my life. The broasted potatoes were good because I doused them in ketchup, but without the ketchup, they were as bland and tasteless as the chicken since the same flour was used. The only good thing about the meal was the bread and butter. It was a waste of the drive, waste of money, and I wouldn't be back. Too bad, we really wanted to give the place a chance. Hope they find that passion in their cooking they probably once had but somehow lost throughout the years. read more

I've been here a couple of times now and I've never had any complaints. Ample parking spot outside the restaurant and it's usually quiet when I go. Water/soda was refilled quickly and the staff are friendly and attentive. Even had the owner park my car once (not a usual thing, they were fixing the parking lot). Love their biscuit and gravy. I always order different things on the menu cause they're so many different things on there, but I always order their biscuit and gravy. 4 stars cause I once found a strand of hair on my food. The only knock on this place is the location. If you're not from "the valley", then traffic and distance would make it a bit of a haul. HAVING SAID THAT, the first thing I noticed when I went in the restaurant were the friendly people. The waitress greeted me as if I were her long lost son! I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad, and MAN OH MAN! I couldn't finish it! They threw so much chicken in that thing; even Col. Sanders would have been jealous! There was so much lettuce, Parmesan cheese, dressing and chicken in that thing, that I was only able to knock off about 2/3 of it! The prices were fair, and the food was really good. They even have a Karaoke bar, but I didn't get in on that (it was a Friday night when I went in there). Upon leaving, the dude at the register seemed really concerned with my experience there. I found out that most of the employees have been working in this restaurant for more than 15 years. That lets me know that the management cares about his people just as much as he cares about his service and food. Lulu's is not just a restaurant, it is a second home. Mike, Kim, Lisa, and the rest of the team treat not just me but all their customers as family. Food is delicious to the point where you want to bite your fingers off and eat the plate with it too. The way management caters to the diverse crowd of clients they have, is very rare to witness in any business setting let alone a restaurant. Mike knows almost all his customers on a first name basis, and really focuses on building a friendship with them. You will never feel like just another customer or not want to continuously come back for more food once you arrive and eat at Lulu's. All the classic airplane pictures are a very unique touch as well since they are very closely located to the Van Nuys airport. read more
