We drove out to Lulu's for the first time last night. I wanted to hear the band Renegade. We saw that there was a decent-looking menu so we waited to eat until we arrived. This place is an oasis on the plains! Upon entering, you are in the bar/dance hall area. From the door, you can see a huge dining area adjoining the dancing & band. It was a Saturday night and both sides of the place were packed packed. We were greeted by a beautiful blond womaan who exuded warmth & welcoming. We were seated in the back of restaurantraunt & were able to see all that the place had to offer. We thought we would have to wait quite awhile since our greeter was also the waitress. And she was BUSY! But she got our drink order right away & our drinks came quickly. We ordered deep fried mushrooms to start & beef nachos & hot wings as our meal. Everything was served by our friendly greeter. All three items were delicious! Some people might not like that the nachos were made with canned queso and were loaded with jalapeños. We enjoyed them a lot! They offer buffalo, teriyaki and BBQ wings. We got the buffalo wings & they were the best I had ever had. We ordered two cocktails which were just as we'd hoped. There were a lot of families in the restaurant side & the dance floor stayed full all night. The band was AMAZING! We loved them! They played current country songs with some classics peppered in. They had three male vocalists & one female. Great voices! The dance floor was hopping- especially when the band played a cha cha. I have never seen a dance band play so many cha chas, but the crowd loved it. And so did I! I loved the vibe of the place & how friendly everyone was! I want to become a regular, but it's quite a drive from Lakewood. Please note that this is a down home kind of place. Atmosphere was great. Very cozy and relaxed and clean. Had many friends tell us that the burgers were awesome there. Well - that wasn't so much the case when we went. The meet was poor quality and very thin burgers. Not impressive at all. Service was great. Loved the horseshoe game in the backyard which was manicured nicely. We will go back and give them one more chance since so many of our friends spoke so highly of them but were also disappointed when they went there a few days after we did. read more

A hidden gem!! Arrived with a group of 6 around 4:30 on Saturday afternoon. Most of the tables had reserved signs, but the staff quickly let us know that we could sit anywhere and the signs were for later in the evening. While checking out the menu, our drinks arrived and I was so happy that my beer was so cold and refreshing. The menu had an awesome variety including surf and turf, nachos, prime rib, burgers, shrimp, etc. The friendly server took our order and we quickly checked out the surroundings. The place has three horseshoe pits and several tables out back and a heated patio area for those that care to smoke. Inside there is a large dance floor and a stage for a band. Our food arrived and it was so delicious. We enjoyed the surf and truf, prime rib sandwiches, fried shrimp and a burger. We all raved about the quality and portion sizes. All of the prices were appropriate. The place was clean and very inviting. We will keep this on our must go to list and maybe we will be able to stay and catch a glimpse of the weekend nightlife. This comes highly recommended by fuel desk guy at Front Range Airport about 6 miles north, where our N126M is waiting a couple hours for DP to arrive from Toronto. Sports bar setting with noisy people having a good time here. A club soda now, plain cheesecake coming soon as I wait for their only steak, which is NY Strip rare, and baked potato with butter and bacon. Quick service ordered my requests. Parking lot outside is near full but this place isn't that busy. Bar is more than restaurant. Cheesecake is real good. And the NY Strip...well I have not eaten a lot of those, this was the standard for comparison. Thicker cut, excellent quality (I ate the entire thing), perfect rare. The potato was real, and the bacon also. I did have to leave before finishing but a to-go box was prepared and I finished it off soon as I returned to airport...so Steve could close! It's a nice venue, but the staff is rude and good luck getting a halfway decent drink at the bar. the bartenders are just beer pourers.

I will drive the distance to eat here. This was my first real big girl motocycle ride. My husband on his bike and me on my trainer that I refuse to upgrade. I love lulus. We live right near it here in Watkins and it's always so much fun and the food and service is always so great.

This is a great out of the way place to go. You have dining on one side and a bar with a nice dance floor on the other. The food is fantastic. The price is very good for the amount you receive. I don't necessarily like to cook my own stake when I go out to eat, but it's nice to have the option. I always pay the extra dollar to have them cook it. After you eat, you definitely need to stay for the band and dancing. The place gets crazy busy, but everyone (staff and clients) is so very nice! read more

One Sunday I decided to stop by, DO NOT BE FOOLED!, It was THE WORST service I've ever had!!!!!! Waitress totally hated me from the first sight, only two time she spoke to me was "what would you like to drink" ( 20 min after I sat down!!!!!!) and "we do not have sides you wanted" ( 15 min after I ordered my meal!!!) can you believe I wasn't even asked if I want any other side instead, waitress just told me there is no sides and just turned around and left?!?! I saw waitress was very nice with other customers, lucky them ! Stopped at the Ranger Truck Stop for the night. My wife and I wanted a sit down dinner before turning in. I checked out the Yelp reviews and Lulu's popped up with 4.5 stars. Being hungry i was anticipating a real gastronomical treat, one of those hidden gems I have frequently stumbled upon in my travels. Lulu's is really more of a bar than a restaurant so what is served here is basically bar food. The menu was pretty short. My wife ordered the Monday special of spaghetti and sausage and I ordered the BBQ nachos. She was pleased with the spaghetti but the sausage was raw and we returned it. It was quickly replaced with one that was cooked. The nachos were good. They were served on the thicker kettle potato chips. I would have preferred corn chips. They were indeed different which is what our server said they would be. The service was excellent and our waitress was friendly and efficient. Lulu's did not turn out to be the gastronomical treat I was anticipating. As a bar though I'm sure it is a lot of fun on the weekends. read more

Golly, what a find! Everything we had was stellar. The fried mushrooms were fresh and served with homemade ranch dressing. Barbecue nachos were smothered with tender pulled pork, chipotle cream sauce, and a tangy barbecue sauce. Perfect amount of spicy heat. I would have preferred them on tortilla chips, but potato chips were a nice twist. The cheeseburger was recommended by our server, and it did not disappoint. As a bonus, they were serving complementary black-eyed peas and cornbread for New Year's Day. As a Southern girl raised on peas and cornbread, I didn't think I'd be impressed by Lulu's efforts. Being from a small town, community and the business within that community are important. Supporting each other as individuals and businesses is a must! My son is turning 1 in a couple weeks and we were going to have a small gathering of 20-25 adults plus my son at Lulu's Inn. After talking with the owner, we won't be going there ever again. The owner was overall disrespectful,hung up on me, and told me that if we came in there to eat burgers/drinks instead of the tacos we orginally discussed, she would refuse service to all of us. Nothing had been ordered and the burgers would have saved us $1 a plate straight off the menh. We needed 4 tables to hold our family and friends, many of which are coming from out of town. Instead of welcoming our business and making several 100 dollars, we will be taking our business elsewhere. We have eaten there for years and in the summer, it's a weekly thing. We will never step foot in that facility again because of the disrespect we were shown. read more

Used to be a great place to go dance! Been out a number of weekends in a row hoping for something new and fresh but it seems like they have the same ol crappy bands week in and week out! They really need to get some decent danceable country bands going there! Food wasn't bad. Bar Tender has her nose stuck so far in the air, it's surprising they sell any booze at all. She's just SNOTTY! They also need to get the RAP CRAP off the juke box! I always remembered Lulu's because it was the BEST country roadhouse for a good steak, good conversation with the bartender and the staff, and the BEST place around to hear some good country music and the dancing was awesome! I decided to choose Lulu's for my birthday dinner. It was my fiancé, my daughter and I. We arrived around 5 pm on a Friday and we were one of four tables being served. Our server started out great even though when she checked my I.D. she didn't acknowledge that it was my birthday on the day we went. I can look past that but it would have been nice for her to beyond the norm. Our food took a little longer as I decided on the lobster and our server did stop by to let us know why we were waiting so long. No big deal, understandable. So then we finally get our food and as soon as she was done setting the plates down she left, no can I get you anything else, drinks, nothing. At that time all of us needed refills on our drinks. We just ate and waited for her to swing back by. She never did. We saw her sitting down with a group of people across from us while we were waiting for her to swing back by and then she left the restaurant. Three quarters into our meal another server comes up to us and asks me if I needed a refill and I asked for a different drink and she just walked away before anyone could add to it. When she came back she placed the drink by my fiancé and again walked away before any of us could spit a word out. Both servers were so blinded by the fact that two people at the table have been out of a beverage for quite some time. Unbelievable. About 15 minutes later the 2nd server comes back to see if we needed anything else and at this point we were so aggravated we just asked for the check. Not 2 minutes after my finance places the money on the table did she come by and pick it up. Needless to say we did not leave a tip. We decided before we left to speak to a manager so we went up to the bar to ask the bartender for a manager. We waited 15 minutes at the bar. Now mind you that the place was dead, I mean there were 2, count them 2 tables at this time being served and no one sitting at the bar and at least 4 servers/bartenders. As we waited for the bartender to help us we watched as she put on lipstick and chit chatted with the servers. When we finally talked to the manager all we got was her word that it wouldn't happen again and that she was sorry. Now we weren't looking for a handout, we were prepared to spend well over $100 there as it was my birthday but you would think the manager would at least intrigue us in some way to come back and give them another chance but no, just her word. This place may do great for just drinks for a night out at the bar but I would stay away from eating here. Honestly, the lobster had no flavor; even with the butter sauce and the $20 steak was mundane. For the price you pay for each plate all you get is a salad, baked potato and garlic bread that is half of a hoagie bun and tastes like something I can just whip up at home. If you want good food stick to the city or keep going down I-70 and hit up High Plains. We eat there every other week and never had a bad server and the food is always great. read more

This is a decent place to go for a trashy night out. Bands are OK, nothing to write home about, but what can you expect that far out... The bar maids seemed to be drinking on the job, which is maybe allowed but not what I would consider very professional, how are they to be good judges of when a client has had too much, but then maybe that isn't a concern of theirs. Food was OK, but nothing I would drive a distance for. I would say that unless you are looking for a cheap night, with some cheap company, not sure if they are still running the brothel out of here, even then you could check out a VFW and speak with some of our vets, I would stay in Denver for a night out next tme. read more
