On my roadtrip to Los Angeles I had lunch at Pupusas Paradise. The food is delicious and the service is friendly! Elsa is a very friendly server and told me that two pupusas would be enough. They were, and they were delicious! The tamales were also delicious, as well as the horchata and maracuya passion fruit juice. I ate some of my lunch there and ate some later on my road trip. Angelica, the owner, is also friendly and chatted with me. The server who boxed my food and collected my payment was also friendly. They also have fun, gorgeous art everywhere. If you like waiting 35+ minutes for two pupusas and then eating them with your fingers like a caveman because they forgot napkins and utensils, this is the place for you. We had the most fun company party here. They catered and attended to all of our needs while providing us an opportunity to have a ton of fun with their karaoke and DJing. I placed an online order for food and two sodas, when I arrived they could not produce a receipt and showed me the food ticket printed in the kitchen that did not have my drinks on it. I had to pay twice for same 2 fountain drinks $7. When I called to speak with someone about this I was told management was not around but the same person that argued with me in person wanted to help on the phone but keep saying she could not hear me or understand me saying things like pineapple. My son loves pupusas and after an attempt to make them at home a few weeks back, we stopped here while on a trip back from the airport. We tried 4 different kinds and they were all incredible! They are made to order, are very large (a great value for the price!) and we absolutely loved them. We only tried vegetarian ones (the one with frijoles, queso and loroco was THE BEST!), but I'm sure the meat-filled ones are also fantastic. I'll be honest, I had no idea what a pupusa was. I was just looking for a place to have dinner with some friends while we were traveling for a conference and I saw that this place had a lot of good reviews. Let me tell you those reviews are warranted. The restaurant is located in a shopping plaza so there is ample parking. The interior is very casual. Of course being here, I had to order the pupusas. I ordered the chorizo and asada. For those like me that didn't know what they are it's almost like stuffed naan. It was surprisingly good. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. It's my first time having Salvadorian food so keep this in mind. I went in with an open mindset and no expectations. My server was great and she was on point. The general feel of the atmosphere felt very authentic. My main problem was with the food. I enjoyed the Pupusas at first but after I was halfway through with it the taste got very bland and rich. Same goes for the enchiladas. They seem to love coleslaw because that was on every single one of my dishes. I wish I would have gotten the steak or something else but you live and you learn! Took an Uber from the airport to this delicious location for some pupusas. It's around 3pm and it's only me and another patron. I'm not sure why there isn't a line put the door but I'm happy because I didn't have to wait. This place is amazing!! I ordered two mixed and they are made fresh. So soft and spongy. Full of flavor. Filling. Great portion for the price. Two has me full. I loved the curtido too. It was served with a small portion so I asked for more and definitely a great decision bc I was able to savor these even more. There's an El Salvadoran place near my home and we love pupusas so with a name like pupusa paradise we just had to stop in. We're glad we did. As much as I like the good from the place near me, Pupusa paradise absolutely blew them away with their pupusas. I wish we could get them that good near me.
