I feel like 3 stars will lead you to think the wrong thing. I eat a lot of Mexican, as I live in southern California. Hell, I'm married to a Mexican! Los Robles seems legit. The menu has everything you'd want including specialties. I was in the mood for Carne Asada fries and this was the closest place to me so I swung in. Immediately, the red flags were the only Mexican place in the area and attached to a gas station. Then when you go in, all the green flags hit: more than just tacos and burritos (sopes and tortas are always a good sign on the menu), bottles of coke, Mexican beers, etc. My order was delicious! First off do not order the salsa! I ordered a large thing of salsa and chips with five Carne Sada tacos. My salsa was spoiled smelled like 10 day, old socks, and that is not normal and my tacos were very stale and dry. Plus, when I asked for a large thing of salsa, they kind of laughed at me like it was funny I don't see how my order was funny but what do I know I'm just the customer If I were you, I would go to a different Mexican restaurant because this is definitely not authentic. Ordered and paid for three carnitas tacos and other sides. Only got one taco with a lot of onions. Chips and salsa was decent, but the tiny cup of salsa was gone before half the bag of chips was gone. Ordered 2 churros. Maybe they were three days old and were so hard they cut the inside of my mouth, rendering the top of my mouth a bloody mess. It was as if I were eating a stick covered with cinnamon, sugar and a hint of fryer grease. I ate everything because I was hungry. So hungry. Hunger is the best spice. Hunger couldn't stop me from eating possibly the worst meal I have ever had. It was expensive. I complained. I got a 6 dollar credit. Yowza. I won't order from them again. Skip it. You'll be glad you did. I hope I don't get foodborne illness. It wasn't a complete and utter failure. The taco was pretty good except the radishes were dry and the taco was small. I was staying in the hotel right nearby and wanted some dinner without having to get ready and go out, so I ordered from them for pickup. They had a good sized menu with a lot of good options and I was excited. Overall the food was good. I got an order of the loaded fries, however it didn't seem to have any of the meat that was listed on it? It was still tasty, but it was definitely missing. Part guacamole and a couple of chincy slices of avocado, because I guess there was no guacamole left? The whole experience felt like a great example of just not caring because they don't have to. Oh and the prices on yelp aren't even close to what they are now. $7.99 nachos are now $11.99. Can of Soda... $2? I came here in November for a breakfast burrito and it was really good. Each time after that has been not so good... This last time the burritos had no meat, were extremely dry and had no flavor. This thing was 90% potatoes. They must have changed salsas too because the salsa verde was so salty and barely edible. I can make better food at home and I bet anyone reading this could too. Have seen this place in the making, and stopped in for a bite. The appearance of the place displays that they are still getting their legs, but the person who took my order was very nice. I ordered Carne Asada Fries. The Carne Asada was fresh, and the flavors were really good. I appreciated the generous meat portion, along with the chili, which was seasoned well too. The price was comparable to what you would pay at most restaurants, and it didn't take long either. I asked if there were to go menus, and they didn't have any, but suggested a view of the website which has the menu displayed. Sorry I have no pictures, as I was starving, but I will surely take pics next time. I will no doubt check out other menu items in the future.
