What a great find! Food, service & atmosphere absolutely wonderful! Why aren't there more of these in the Denver area??

Was a typical diner- with the decor and atmosphere (good thing). Service was off. I sat at the bar, ordered a cocktail. A different server then took my food order. Well, I received my food prior to receiving my drink. I had the meatloaf, mashed potato's and Cole slaw. It was all good, and I enjoyed it. But, the menu said the meatloaf was made in house - I don't know for sure, but it didn't look or taste like it. Would definitely go back. read more

I ordered the walking burrito and explicitly said no meat. I double clarified no meat. I ate half my burrito and pulled a big chunk of pork out of my mouth. I know Denver is big on green chili, but this one did not state it had green chili. See the attached photo. The waitress was extremely rude and tried to blame me. I haven't eaten meat in 14 years. Yadira was a terrible server. She never refilled our drinks, she didn't clear dirty dishes, she didn't check on our table, and when we asked for boxes, she was incredibly rude and snappy. When asked to split the bill, she gave a long speech about how it would take her time to split everything. Customer service was 0/5 stars. Food was fine. It was definitely sitting out for a period of time before we got the food. Cheese on our plates were not fully melted, meat was cold. Our milkshakes were very good and we liked the portion sizes (huge- had to take home). We sat outside and the misters were not enough to help with the heat and didn't blow on us at all. There were so many flies outside we were constantly swatting them away. They need fans or something outside to help with the heat and bugs. read more

Flies. I've been here four times and I think today's visit will be the last. The decor and vibe is fun (4 stars) the food is relatively average diner grub (3 stars), and service is good (4 stars), but there are always excessive flies. Why are there always so many flies? Moonlight Diner was definitely one of the highlights of our short trip. The moment you pull up to the diner the 50's vibe just hits. The pictures and decorations on the wall give you that "good 'ol days" feel. Service was a little slow but it was packed when we got there so it wasn't a big deal. The menu is huge which is usually a red flag for me but the food was actually fresh and well prepared. I had the Moonlight Signature Burger. It comes with ranch on the burger which was surprisingly delicious. The fries have a nice rough texture to them which I love. My meal was definitely on point. We'll be back in the Denver area in the next year or two and may stop here again being that it's so close to the airport. read more

Moonlight Diner 3.5/10 Second time at this nice Little diner stop by tower and happy that they are open bright and early and close at 9! Stopped by and we were seated right away and place was clean and the diner was pretty simple than the other ones ive been too so far :). Menu offered a whole variety of breakfast classics as well as burgers/handhelds and milkshakes which ive still yet to tried. Decaf coffee was good, I could drink it multiple times, will definetely order next time. Sweet Potato fries were really delicious and the steak flavor was okay, but atleast it was still tender/cooked perfectly, just wished it punch more but not bad. Mash potato was pretty disappointing. Patty melt was perfect and fries that came with it were perfect. HUGE PORTION TOO!! Ive also ordered a side of Mac which was also reallyyyy good. I was out in Denver for work a couple of weeks ago and was staying at a hotel near this place; so I decided to check it out for an early dinner. The place is located right on Tower Road and there is a nicely sized parking lot on the premises. I kept it simple with a cup of green verde chili and a chicken Cobb salad. Both dishes were good and the salad was big enough to box up and take what was left. The service was quick and polite. I had a great experience overall. The service was excellent our server was attentive, friendly, and maintained a positive attitude throughout the visit. The food was also very enjoyable, I ordered the chicken with biscuits and gravy and it was absolutely delicious. The cozy atmosphere made it an ideal spot for a relaxing breakfast. This is not a gourmet spot, but it sure hits the spot. After power shopping at Sam's and Costco all in one day, my boyfriend and I decided to deviate from the dinner plan and go out to eat. I wanted a burger he wanted to sit down meal and we ended up at the Moonlight Diner. Walking into the diner is like a step back in time. The decor is 1950s memorabilia with chrome touches and leather wrapped seating. It's everything you would think a diner would be but the food is so much more. They have a full bar as well as dairy treats, including shakes and malts. They also have breakfast all day and love their pancakes. They also serve barbecue. But I went for the patty melt. And my other half went for breakfast. His breakfast was the mountain man breakfast and was full of meats, eggs hashbrowns, and Ken with pancakes, but he opted for English buffet instead. It also came with a side of toast. It was a very ample breakfast. My patty melt sure did hit the spot. It was a perfectly medium cooked hamburger on rye with cheddar, and Swiss melted with grilled onions and thousand island dressing. Instead of fries, I went for the mashed potatoes and gravy. It was comfort food to the max. My date also got the peanut butter shake. He slurped that down in a hot minute. He said it was wonderful. He offered me a taste at least twice before I noticed it was gone. There's also meatloaf on the menu as well as a pulled pork barbecue Frito pie and they have a Frito pie burger. Staying at the Gaylord Rockies and decided to venture out for a non-Marriott breakfast. $9 Lyft ride or a 20 minute walk. Awesome classic diner feel with a great menu. I opted for the Meat Eaters omelet with pancakes vs toast with hash browns. Super friendly staff, seems family owned and run. Light and fluffy inside and crispy outside - cooked to perfection. The chicken had a great breading was a bit bland. Next time I would ask for a side of gravy to assist with the chicken. Great good, huge portions...! I unexpectedly stayed the night in Denver while traveling home from Tampa and found this place close to the Courtyard Marriott I stayed at. The place was busy and there was a wait for larger parties, but being by myself, I was able to be seated right away at the counter. The service was friendly and nice and Janessa took good care of me. This was a classic diner feel for sure. They even offered cocktails and handmade milkshakes. I'll definitely eat here agin if in a similar circumstance. read more

This review is for breakfast only. We stopped here after picking up fanily from the airport one weekend morning and everyone was starving. This place is so cute and the decor is an old school dinner. The staff is super friendly and attentative. They have water available outside while you wait and the patio has masters during the summer. They have your standard comfort food breakfast. The portions are big and the prices and very reasonable. Going to make this a regular stop when we're headed to the airport. read more

My friend and I had a late breakfast at this diner yesterday about 11 am. It's a cute throwback design of diners in the past with a large wrap around deck. It's covered and has misters going to keep the heat at bay. We chose to sit inside which was cool & comfortable. They were very busy with a full parking lot and we were seated immediately. Our server didn't introduce herself and she was with us immediately, took our order without writing anything down and brought our food hot @ fast - very impressive for such a full house! One of the nice moments of our visit came when the table next to ours were served chicken & waffles. Their plate was beautiful with a plate-sized waffle I swear was an inch thick and 3 pieces of chicken piled on top! The woman who ordered it said it was amazing. They were very friendly and we chatted a bit My friend and I had pretty traditional breakfasts which were delicious Later in the day my friend told me the coffee she had there was one of the best cups of coffee she had ever had. Diner's in new place are a must! Came across this place on a Monday morning with a group of 5 and a toddler. Waited no longer than 10 minutes to get seated. Menu was straight forward and our group did have some questions and the service was helpful in answering questions along with suggestions on what to order. Got to try the country fried steak and eggs with a mimosa and a mimosa flight to share. Food was FANTASTIC that our table even got to share a savory plate. Mimosa's did sosa. Alright this place has been on our to go list ever since we passed it going to or from the airport years ago. We live 35-mins from the airport so really, that would be the only time we'd go. My uncle came into town and was staying by the airport so we saw this as our chance, and honestly it totally lived up to the expectation! We ordered the chicken fried steak, turkey club, BLT, and cup of red chili and it was all divine diner food! I ordered a chocolate milkshake but they ended up forgetting it, which honestly was okay because I was so full after the rest of the food I probably couldn't have drank or enjoyed it. Stopped in right after we flew into Denver. The outdoors smelled like a heavenly smoker or a barbecue grill, but it Drew us in. The diner is super fun and designed to look like a vintage old-school diner, and I loved every second of being inside. Service was good, our waitress was attentive and nice. Good place to stop, whether on the way to or from DIA. Would definitely recommend the Moonlight Diner for breakfast, but lucky for us, breakfast is served all day. The pancakes are an easy go to but definitely give the breakfast burrito a try. It is of great portion. It seems like the Diner is a popular spot as it is always busy when we visit. Nice meal after an event at the Gaylord Hotel. It wasn't as busy yet which was nice. But there was a large party in our section so our server was busy. I decided on the lemon pepper salmon. Wanted a peppermint hot chocolate but it turned out that it was alcoholic so I decided on water. The salmon was fine. The veggies were bland. Roll nice. Rice meh. We recently came here for lunch and here's what I thought. Atmosphere: Moonlight Diner is cutely decorated on the inside. They have a lovely outdoor porch with mist fans in the summer. I will say the booth fabric NEEDS to be redone. I noticed several booths had cracked upholstery or holes in them! Restrooms: They had men's and women's bathrooms. The women's bathrooms had 3 stalls. In town for work for a week. My wife and I chose this place. I have a little pet peeve and that is I want my drink quickly and often. I mean like as you seat us if you ask what we would like to drink is a huge plus for me. That didn't happen here as a matter of fact we sat for twenty minutes and no one paid us any attention. Finally got to order drinks and it took another ten minutes to arrive. No bueno. So I ordered the bbq platter because the restaurant has a smell of a smoker. The food was not very good. I was expecting so much more but maybe that is my fault. The ribs were very ok the smoked sausage was good. The beans were ok as was the slaw. We will not return. read more
