    This is a pretty solid spot to grab Japanese/fusion type of food! We came around 11 am and had access to their brunch menu. FAVORITE ITEMS: - Bees Knees: a tad on the sweet side, if you ask for slightly less sweet, maybe it'd taste even better? It has a nice lavender flavor which really is so aromatic and delightful. I recommend this for sure! - Brussel Sprouts: sauce was really good, crispy exterior and flavorful. Def recommend this - Chirashi Bot: I got the fancier version which the chef chooses for you which cuts of fish, depending on what is available. The sushi rice with sesame seeds were really tasty, I would say you get a decent amount of fish but there is a lot of avocado. It's decent, fish was fresh. PARKING: pretty easy street parking nearby SERVICE: it took a while for the chirashi bowls to come out but the other food came out decently fast. PRICE: a bit on the pricey side, but the aesthetic inside makes it pretty cool. Overall, I'd prob recommend to folks who are coming by to try some spots in Austin! It's a cool concept and the food was solid. They also have a great music playlist!

    This sushi spot on SoCo is a gem! They have some fun fusion offerings including the Yuca-Tekkan, a maki roll with pepitas and recado negro. I appreciated that they had plenty of seafood and vegetarian offerings. My favorite dish was the spinach and shittake dumplings with cashews and a cashew cream. They were so delicious, I was scraping the cream off the plate! Our server Josh was top notch and knew his stuff well. The restaurant also has beautiful decor; I loved the cherry blossoms!

    Stopped by for happy hour and ordered a couple of items We tried the seasonal mule and whiskey spritz - both pretty good and $9 Tried the wagyu hot rock - pretty good for happy hour $9 and def add the salt for some extra flavor Tried the salmon, tuna, striped bass and yellowtail nigiri - all good but tuna and salmon were the best!! Tried the chicken karaage and chicken itself was good but didn't love the green sauce but my husband did Interior is so cute with the cherry blossoms They have some outdoor seating but can be busy crosswalk and traffic area Although they are dog friendly in the outdoor seating

    This place is it! Came here because my sister in law wanted to try it out and I'm glad she did! But be prepared to have your wallet be set backkkkkk lol- don't say I didn't warn you! Ambiance is really nice here especially for a date night type of place. I have 3 kids- so that's not always the best option. But the lighting is nice and dim! We found parking right along the curbside in front of the restaurant fairly easy before the dinner rush crowd showed up. Wagyu hot rock, is the way to go! My girls 7 & 4, (6&3) at the time of our visit loved it- so flavorful with just a pinch of salt, but it's definitely melt in your mouth delicious! My kids are picky and they even loved the chicken karaage & pork belly bao buns. Everything was just so tasty- go and check out the happy hour menu to save you some coin! Even my yuzu spritzer was nice and refreshing!

    Really love this cute Japanese restaurant. I love how you can see the fish drying in the refrigerator when you meet with the host. The food was amazing. I wasn't a big fan of the tonkatsu ramen, but the chicken ramen was rich with flavor. The appetizers were great. I love the sauces that come with them especially the chicken katsu. Our server was kind and friendly. Definitely check this place out if you're nearby.

    I have eaten here a couple of times and it was fantastic!! The dry aged tuna melts in your mouth like butter! They offer seating outside as well. It's not very large so sometimes there is a wait. Service was great..our server was able to suggest a few things for us during the initial visit. Because they offer higher end, dry aged sushi, it is more expensive than your regular sushi spot. I think it's well worth the extra coins though! There's a cute ice cream stand nearby if you want a cool dessert after.

    Came here during restaurant week and loved it! So much food and so much variety for such a good price! They had a prefix menu so it took all the guess work out for me and my friend, kinda like an omakase or chefs choice experience! My favorite was the yellow tail, so fresh and so flavorful! We sat outside on congress which was nice because the weather is just getting good and it was still light and lively out. Also our waitress was so sweet to us and gave great drink recommendations!

    Finally tried out Lucky Robot on Soco. The decor is super loud and extravagant but it kinda worked for me. I loved the violent cherry blossom vibe. On to the food, I got the chirashi bot and at $28 for fresh sashimi, it was really good. The fish tasted clean and refreshing and the soft poached egg on the rice with caviar added a nice umami depth to every bite. I very much enjoyed this brunch and would come back to try their other bites.

    It's wooden, with pink neon on the shelving above the sushi bar, populated with figurines. Lucky Robot claims to serve sushi here. They also have ramen; maybe I should have tried my luck with that instead. Started with the Purple Peruvian drink, which was really quite nice. Actually, it was the highlight of the entire meal, so props to who ever made it. I felt lazy about going through every item on the menu, so I decided to order their "omakase." Huge mistake. Theirs is not a set menu, nor does it seem to be customized to customer's taste. Rather, it is a budget, which is filled using items from the menu until the desired price point is achieved. Before ordering, I specifically asked the waiter how the three different price points for their omakase work. I inquired how many pieces each one comes with. He provided an unsatisfactory "I don't know" and then proceeded to mention the more expensive ones had more courses (and gave a range of 10-13). He claimed to push people towards ordering the middle priced one, but did not provide an explanation for why. My expectation was a certain quantity of nigiri if ordering their "omakase." However, the waiter failed to clarify exactly what their "omakase" consists of, other than "the kitchen decides" (well, duh) and "it'll be a surprise." Withholding clarifying information about a menu option is a negative. We weren't too hungry, so we opted for the the lowest priced version. In response, he mumbled "this one would be 8 courses." Again, not forthcoming with information which he could have provided in response to my first question. After ordering, he asked "is there anything you won't eat?" Of course the answer is no. But looking back, I should have specifically mentioned "no artificial crab" or "no shoddy food." Lastly, he quipped, "and is sashimi ok?" To which I responded I prefer nigiri, to which he said "ok"--yet another missed opportunity to clarify that nigiri is a teeny-weeny part of their "omakase." As for the shoddy omakase: Brussel Sprouts ($12)--over-roasted to remove the nuttiness, and then doused in tamari. I've rarely had well-prepared brussel sprouts at restaurants, and Lucky Robot is no exception. Disappointing start. Sakura Masu ($24)--a shoddy crude containing ocean trout, blood orange, fennel, pomegranate, and cilantro. Masked the light trout flavor. Sourness was extremely minute. Nothing in this dish went well together, since everything tasted like flavorless blood orange (even the fish); and not even sweet. Their fennel slivers were not bright and refreshing; on the contrary, they seemed pickled, sad, and depressing. Hira Hira ($16)--poorly executed maki containing yellowtail, avocado, green onion, crispy shallot, yuzu miso, lemongrass soy, sesame. Excessive 3:1 rice to filling ratio. Tasted like creamy avocado. Cilantro did nothing, and a yellowed cilantro leaf was purposely selected. You can tell the kitchen does not even care to utilize green herbs. "Prime" Nigiri Moriawase ($37x2)--dry-aged fish. 5 out of 8 fish on daily fish menu. You can see the fish hanging on display. Better than the maki, but, it was not very flavorful, despite their dry aging process. The garnishes did not promote the fishes. The bitter toasted sesame seeds were unhelpful (and shouldn't be bitter!). These were fairly sad, disappointing bites, especially if you know what well-executed nigiri with quality ingredients tastes like. Hiramasa Shrimp Battle ($24)--much better maki roll than the Hira Hira, as the rice to filling ratio was closer to 1:1. Crunchy bits add texture; the serrano slice on top adds a slight heat to the bite. Enjoyable. "Pork Belly" and "Wagyu Short Rib" Nigiri ($26)--pork belly: dry and chewy. Wagyu: it's a precooked slab that they store with their fish (since we see it at sitting at the sushi bar); when it's prepared, they cut some slices and toss it in the oven to warm up. Pity for folks consuming either of these two items, including myself. Strawberry Basil Ice Cream ($9) -- they stated this was a semifreddo; it was fairly sweet. It had "compressed" strawberries, and crushed pistachios. Texture wise, this was fine. I recommend going to Gelato Paradiso (across the street) afterwards for dessert instead of here. Conclusion: only the Peruvian drink and Hiramasa Shrimp Battle were enjoyable. 2 out of 9 items, or $32 out of $193--an abysmal 0.22 or 0.16 enjoyment rate, depending on the metric. An incredibly poor value. There is no reason to return to this establishment in the future; plenty of other sushi restaurants in Austin take pride in serving non-shoddy food to their customers. Finally, do you really want to eat at a place that roasts their sesame seeds bitter, overcooks their pork belly until dry and chewy, uses an inappropriate ratio of rice to filling in their maki, voluntarily places yellowing cilantro leaves on your food, cannot execute a reasonable crudo, and provides you with a disappointingly low quality sushi experience?

    Great service from Brady who offered us dessert as we're newly engaged but we're too full so he said next time. Didn't feel rushed at all. Apps were great with chicken karaage and pork dumplings. The sauces alone were full of so much flavor. Sushi the sea 3PO Voltron and r2d2 were all great with their respective sauces. Good portions all the way through. We will go again.

    Lucky Robot is an incredibly cute small sushi restaurant located along the Congress Avenue street. I'm getting lucky robots for stars only because of how well they nail the Aesthetics down from the entire restaurant, down to the decor, seating, props, and plating. It might at first seem to be a small establishment but once inside, it's a lot more spacious than it otherwise seems from the outside. The space is very well decorated from head to toe. We love the Aesthetics. It's a modern take on traditional wood-based decor. It's lovely, perky, and fun. However, on the side of their food, it's a bit overrated. The server had hyped us about one of their High specialty dishes; aged tuna sashimi. It is extremely well plated. However, it doesn't taste much different than regular fresh tuna Sashimi in most other sushi restaurants that achieve a similar flavor level. I will give them props on the tuna because it did not have the lactic acid flavor that would have been indicative of poor quality tuna. But what makes their aging process more unique than leaving the fish in the refrigerator for a longer period of time? I don't know. It seems like the staff didn't really know either when we asked further, despite it being a dish that was recommended by them.

    Is there a gluten free menu?

    I don't think there is an actual gluten-free menu, but their servers are very knowledgeable, and they are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions. There is a lot more than just gluten that I can't eat, and I do great here.

    Do they use heat lamps on the patio in the winter?

    Are there any recommendations on parking besides street parking?

    There is a large, mostly vacant parking lot located behind Hotel Saint Cecelia that is about a 5 minute walk from the restaurant.

Simple toppings of fried tortilla strips, avocado, charred jalapeno, and caramelized onions adorn the top. Before this moment, I thought I just wasn't a fan of mole. It turns out, I had never tried great mole before. This stuff dazzles with layered spices, melded so well that I can't pick a single one out from the pack. It's not overwhelmingly hot, but definitely leaves your lips tingling. I'm glad I finally got there before they close up shop at their current location in Hana World Market on December 21st, and even happier to know that their new brick-and-mortar isn't too far behind. The only thing I didn't like how noodles became very sticky because of how tight they were packed. So I got it as cold (because I live 30 mins away) and sticky. Ramen came with all the veggies like grilled Chinese broccoli, tofu, sweet corn, marinated shiitake mushrooms, red onions and negi. Yakisoba noodles had the Stir-fried noodles tossed with cabbage, scallion, carrot, marinated shiitake mushrooms, and fragrant negi in a savory house sauce. It was good if you like this type of noodles. Austin roll had Smoked tempeh, tempura tofu, jalapeño, pickles. And on the to Avocado, roasted garlic oil, tempura flakes, smoked paprika, teriyaki. The best part is all of their drinks (or nearly all of their cocktails) come in three variations which allows you to get them with alchohol, thc, or make it complelely non-alcoholic.
