For being in Elko, NV this place was amazing. My friend and I were staying in town and weren't expecting much. When we walked in it was busy and there were people waiting for tables. Both of us got a pasta dish and they were delicious. The portion sizes were great. They were out of a lot of their main desserts but what we did have was great. read more

We went to Luciano's as a group of nine, and a kind lady greeted us and managed to make room for us. We were seated promptly and had a basket of delicious hot bread brought to us. Unfortunately, this is one of the only upsides to a mostly disappointing night. The food was rather on the pricey side; a plate of fish with pasta was about $25. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan on top of angel hair pasta, and it was, quite frankly, awful. The eggplant was greasy, rubbery, and bland, and the pasta with tomato sauce tasted like an average microwaved dinner. The sauce was obviously canned, and the plating was rather sloppy. It was DEFINITELY NOT worth the $15 dollars I payed. One of my guests, who is vegan, ordered the zucchini noodles and told the server about her special diet. Despite this, the plate of zoodles came with cheese on top of it, and our server said, "the kitchen accidentally included the cheese, you can just scrape it off." NO! Vegans cannot just scrape off melted cheese and call it good; the house should have apologized and taken it back to the kitchen! As for my other guests, they all agreed that the pasta was extremely mediocre, and was not worth the price. The burger was soggy, according to one guest. The fries were pretty good, but a bit too greasy. The food here is probably decent for Elko, but if you're from out of town and decide to stop here, don't expect too much. read more

One of my favorite Italian restaurants. This place is not your standard "chicken parm" or "veal saltimbocca" restaurant. My first trip I had a the duck breast on top of risotto verde. Apps were the crab cakes and caprese. Tonight I had an amazing seafood, tomato-based soup and an octopus risotto with clams, muscles, and crab. It was amazing. I never was "wowed" over risotto OR octopus. Risotto is frequently bland and octopus is often chewy. Not here! So much love and tenderness was poured into the dish. Maybe slightly heavy on the salt, but I like salt. And it was great with my Sangiovese! They have a nice wine list - upscale brands with reasonable prices! Further, my FIL who is a self professed beer snob, said that they had a great beer list too!! It will be hard to try another restaurant when I'm in Elko. But that might be a bad thing ;) read more

My sister and I went to Luciano's for lunch while I was in Elko visiting her. This restaurant was a rather pleasant surprise, for such a small town! I ordered the bacon carbonara pasta, a plate that most places foul up quite a bit. Whenever I order this, it's always too rich, or too much like an alfredo. Shockingly, this was perfectly balanced! I felt a bit embarrassed, as I ate so voraciously! On a final note, everyone I spoke to about the restaurant told me how the chef studied in France. It was almost lock-step how they described Luciano's. I almost didn't go because I live in a city with many chefs trained in far-flung places, and I usually look for better feedback than that. read more

Totally didn't expect this Italian restaurant in Elko would have such delicious food. We had herb clams as appetizer, that was a bomb!! We ended up event dipping the sauce with the bread, DELICIOUS!! Great stop on a road trip. Old world Italian menu plus... Service was friendly and spot on. We had salads. I had the beet salad with chicken. Yummy. Roasted beets, blue cheese and candied nuts. Spent a few days out in the wilds of Elko visiting family. I had not been out this way in a really long time and I have to admit, Elko has come a long way since my last visit. We went to Luciano's for dinner and I was skeptical as we arrived. I was, I have to say, blown away. The prawn and scallop pasta was really, really good. The sauce was great and the pasta not over or under cooked. The prawns were cooked to perfection and delicious. My husband had the Cajun prawn dish and said it ranks up there with the best he's ever had. The portions could be a tad bigger, but from what we had and saw other people having, that's kind of nitpicking really. My brother in law had the pesto burger and raved about it. I would normally scoff at a burger in an Italian restaurant but it did look great. The service was good and the staff was very nice and personable. That is probably the most shocking thing about my visit based off my previous experience in Elko was how friendly everyone was and the effort put in to make our visit enjoyable. The bartender and our server were very nice and chatty and seemed to genuinely be enjoying their work even though it was a bit busy. If you're out in the Eastern part of Nevada and want a nicer dinner, this is the place to go. read more

Wow! Phenomenal service! Everyone that worked there seemed to love their job. We were seated immediately. The food came out in a perfectly orderly fashion. Warm, crusty bread first. Then well-portioned caesar side-salads. And finally, our entrees. I ordered the creamy artichoke ravioli. It was heavenly! The Alfredo sauce was perfect. The ravioli's were cooked al dente. I'd definitely recommend it. My husband tried to order the chicken piccata. But they were out of it. Too bad! Instead, he ordered the seafood risotto. He didn't finish it. It's the first time I've ever seen him leave food on his plate. The dish was just too sickly-sweet. It's a real shame they were out of the piccata. The ladies restroom was pretty gross. Went in for dinner and received the best surprise in Elko, NV. I assumed the food would be just OK. I was wrong! I had the freshly made artichoke ravioli in a cream sauce. Just delicious and fresh. "Oh emmm Gee!!! This place was so yummy...!" Those were the words straight out of my friend Zachs mouth... This place was delish. Zach and I invited our friend Devin tonight to dinner and whoa lemme say this place was top 5 in Elko! I had the Tasmanian salmon dish which was top 5 salmon dishes I've had in my life! There was enough risotto on the dish to feed Elko! Devin And Zach shared a cup of Lobster bisque as an appetizer, which Devin said was satisfying and creamy... He's one for texture if you know what I mean! Anywho... The Caesar salad was different then any other place, but still a great salad. Zach likes a good tossed (ceased) salad from time to time! Wine by glass- a local to Sacramento wine - Terra d'oro Sangiovese. Other good selections and a good beer selection too- local and others. Had the Grilled asparagus and lobster almond and delicious sauce appetizer-unbelievably delicious! Also had the Aglio e Olio-very tasty. Great friendly service all around. I was there alone - sat at a table and spoke to a few friendly Nevadans - the one had an amazing looking lamb shank on the creamiest looking mashed potatoes I've ever seen. The food was tasty, BUT the entrées were stingy on the ingredients; I.e., I ordered the Eggplant Parm in which the eggplant was cut so thin it was almost indistinguishable from the crusty coating! After wanting to try this place since I arrived in Elko, I finally went here for dinner with my husband and father-in-law. This place is amazing! It was the best chicken piccata I have ever had! There was an abundance of capers which is what makes chicken piccata what it is supposed to be. Each entree also comes with bread and a salad. The dressing on the salad is really good and the are many good veggies in it! They have an extensive wine list as well with some really good glasses for a good price. I really want to try this place for lunch as well sometime, but I would definitely go back here again and again. Oh, the service was also amazing! Just passing through Elko and came across this restaurant. Victoria is probably the hardest working bartender in town. Good cocktails and the food is very nice. I had the salmon salad. Nicely done salmon (just a bit of crunch but not over or undercooked.). Good mix of ingredients including candies walnuts and generous avocado slices. Tasty dressing on the side. The calamari is also just right. I finished with the dark chocolate mousse. Wow. A chocolate explosion with a secret dark chocolate heart. Yum. It's large so some is coming home with me. They are also very accommodating. My bar mate wanted the creme brûlée but with chocolate on top. No problem! It was delicious and came with a drizzle of chocolate on top. Unbelievable! This was my FAVORITE restaurant in Elko...hence the on point previous review. However, came for a reserved 12 person birthday party and it was ... unbelievable. Understanding that covid has restrictions on sitting more than 6 to a table, we asked that we used the empty room, that could also seat 2 tables of 6 so we weren't loud and disruptive to other guest. The waitress was incredibly rude and it, unfortunately, was not the first time I've witnessed her have a tantrum while dining there. She preceded to back and caused a huge issue that could have easily been prevented. Owner came out and was definitely not in deescalate mode. He did not want to hear a single word from myself nor anyone else at the table, repeating the covid restrictions which I am very well informed of and understanding of. I get it,, people have bad days, especially during these trying times but as a small business owner it might be wise to set an example to your staff regarding POSITIVE customer service not condone bad business. read more

We arrived after a 12 hour drive on our way from Denver to California. We weren't expecting much from this unassuming Italian restaurant, but were in for a surprise. The entrance from the street opens directly into the bar, which was lined with patrons on the Sat night we arrived. We were informed of a 15 minute wait to be seated and it turned out to be pretty accurate. The waitress was attentive but not hovering. I ordered lamb and my wife ordered the Wild Salmon dinner. Both were served over a bed of risotto and both dinners were of excellent quality. I preferred the mushroom risotto that came with the Salmon, but the lamb was so tender and the quantity was more than adequate, such that we really couldn't finish it all. Overall, the service was great and the food was excellent. Dinner came with salad and bread. The only real downside was the noise level in the dining room was very high making it difficult to converse. Overall, a surprisingly nice experience considering Elko is not much more than a wide spot in the road! read more
