First everyone was especially helpful and knowledgeable. Also they genuinely seem to enjoy sharing their plant knowledge. I stopped by mid day when it was above 100 degrees. Saying that it was a great experience. I found some gems in the clearance that I plan to save and got some pointers. The options were a wide range and reasonable pricing. I always enjoy supporting a small business over big boxes. I recommend stopping by and keep an open mind. You aren't drowning in inventory but rather severed with tailored choices.

There is plenty of parking available, but it is best to park close to the entrance. It is best to get a cart at the entrance, as I mentioned earlier; this is a large nursery. It can be overwhelming as they offer vegetables, annual flowers, perennials, tropicals, and trees. There is plenty of signage, so it is easy to navigate this nursery. There are Barryhill experts available to assist, and we received very helpful advice regarding different rose plants. I do wish they would incorporate mobile POS devices instead of having you navigate across their parking lot to check out. Use the second entrance to access various parking areas guided by parking attendants. You'll begin to see the wonder as the expansive lot, shaded by a canopy of large trees, opens up. An incredible variety of things to see. As you approach the main areas, you'll immediately notice the myriad water features, ponds, and decor. Further back, you see even more inspiring arrangements, many of which can be purchased and installed as-is at impressively competitive prices. There are several buildings on the lot: check-out, tradesmen, and greenhouses. The staff are great - don't be afraid to ask questions!

10 OUT OF 10!!!...will wander again. :-D…read more Absolutely blown away. Hill Country Water Gardens isn't just a nursery...it's a full-blown botanical mini-adventure. It's the kind of place where you come for a plant and end up staying for the vibes. Think of it as a garden center meets a peaceful mini outdoor museum. Everything is beautifully organized by plant type, making it easy to find what you're looking for...or, more likely, making it easy to get joyfully distracted while you wander. There are cozy benches for daydreaming, koi ponds full of personality, colorful lily pads that pop out and wave at you, and the kind of friendly staff that actually makes you want to ask questions. Inspiration? It's everywhere. From the water features, to the whimsical sculptures, to lush displays that make you rethink your whole gardening vision. There are restrooms if nature calls, and there are plenty of delightful garden goodies to buy/take home. It's rare to find a place that feeds your inner gardener, your creative soul, and your serotonin all at once...but somehow, this place pulls it off. I'm so glad it exists.

This place deserves the **"I have escaped the concrete hellscape and entered the garden…read moresanctuary"** review. We absolutely LOVED Green Planet Scapes. We had just come from the big-box garden center, so walking into a nursery with **SHADE**, beautiful healthy plants, reasonable prices, and people who actually care about what they're selling felt downright luxurious. The staff was attentive, kind, and genuinely knowledgeable--and, most importantly to us, they clearly give a darn about native plants and the ecosystem they're going into. They had **actual native milkweeds for our monarchs**, including Asclepias tuberosa, and I was thrilled to see that they **do not sell tropical milkweed**. That alone tells me this is a nursery paying attention rather than just stocking whatever will sell. And the whole place just feels *loved*. There are thoughtful little details everywhere to enhance the experience. At one point, classical music was playing (seriously) while we wandered around freely (and finally not sweating) on a summer Saturday, looking at gorgeously curated plants, and I thought, "Well, I guess this is where we buy things now?" Grateful to Green Planet for saving us the gas money we used to spend driving down to Natural Gardener. Compared to the big boxes: Cooler, cheaper, kinder, more chill, more knowledgeable, more beautiful--and you're supporting a local place that actually seems to care about what grows well here. And they're tucked immediately off of 620 and hard to spot--unless your eyes naturally gravitate to 20 ft tall green inflatables? Turn immediately! You will have found your new go to plant place.

Lots of good plants in for fall. Was happy to see a native Milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa) for sale!read more
