We couldn't have done this without our sales professional Michelle Pompilio. She was instrumental in finding solutions for our project. Thank You Michelle for your expertise and willingness to go above and beyond. Fireplace looks great!

Warm & cozy thanks to Georgetown Fireplace & Patio.

Jeff at Georgetown Fireplace & Patio went above and beyond to help us to success (& extreme satisfaction) on the install of our wood-burning stove. Rarely, these days, does one find customer service to this extent. Jeff made himself available when I (frequently) called, whether it was about safety specs of the fire wall surround, dimensions/material for platform, or to just chat about "the way things work." He carved out time to meet my contractor and give him a detailed tutorial on specific install issues of the stove, pipe and even the surround and platform. Communication, attention to detail, and more -- all top rate!

    Mendota FV33i

We visited GF&P Oct 5 and selected an insert. Michelle was very helpful. A couple of days later she called to say that the company had cancelled all orders for the particular unit we selected. She mentioned that she had a Mendota FV33i which was quite similar to the one we had chosen. Someone else had ordered it and then cancelled so the unit was in the GF&P warehouse. We agreed to that unit which was actually a few hundred less. We were wanting a different face and there was some back and forth on that getting delivery estimates and so on. We eventually decided to go with the face that had been shipped with the unit originally. In the meantime the pictures of our current fireplace showed the gas pipe sticking up in the middle of the floor of the fireplace about 4". This was a concern since it wasn't clear what would need to be done to actually install any insert with a pipe in the way. Michelle contacted Bill Breese, one of the independent installers they use, to come out and look at the issue and see what could be done. It took a couple of weeks to get on his schedule and when he came out he was able to study the problem and work out a solution as well as make a template for the surround which he fabricated. Eventually we got the installation scheduled for Dec 9. When Bill and his crew arrived they started with the pipe and it broke because someone had tried to saw through the cap many years ago before we bought the home in '98. This created new excitement since now a die was needed to rethread the pipe and move forward. Bill and crew were able to get back Dec 17 and complete the installation. They were very competent. Knew what they were doing and efficient. They also wore masks. We are very happy with the insert. It's beautiful and warms our great room and kitchen nicely which is why we got it after The 4 Days this past winter. We needed something other than the stove top to keep us warm in the event of another debacle. I added a small UPS instead of having to remove the face and use the little battery pack in the event of a power outage. So 2.5 months to get to the end. Better than we had originally hoped given that Michelle and Bill Breese, et al are just incredibly busy and supply issues seem quite real. Bill has a territory ranging from Austin to DFW and lots of people wanting inserts and such. The only issue for me was communication could have been more timely regarding scheduling. Not sure it's worth a star but there's no 1/2 star option. Overall very satisfied.

Great experience from sales (Betsy) to installation (Raymond) of two fireplace inserts, a remote and custom fireplace doors! The radiant heat was awesome and kept us warm during the snow storm in Feb 2021 when we had power outages on and off for a week. Figured out quickly our remote was worth every penny too! Betsy took time to explain things and make recommendations based on what we needed and Raymond was so respectful of our home and friendly during installation and made sure we were happy! THANK YOU Georgetown Fireplace & Patio - we are so appreciative and will be back soon for an outdoor kitchen!!! Kevin and Michelle S, Georgetown, Texas

I have a one of a kind 31 inch stainless steel charcoal grill that I purchased in 2003 for ~$1000…read moreand I love my grill. Just this year in 2025, the two wheels both broke and gave out. I contacted every local establishment I could find online to inquire about having the wheels fixed and to have it cleaned (the last professional cleaning had been in maybe 2016) and Kurt from Bar-B-Clean was the only establishment that followed through in their communication and came through for me. By choice, we communicated by text, and Kurt offered to come out for an evaluation visit, but I asked if I could send him pictures and a video to save us both the time (see pics of damage, attached). He immediately said he could help me, whereas others went quiet with no follow up. We set up a time and that was it. Before and on the day of service, there was great reminders, through email and text about our upcoming appointment. I appreciated this. When the service technician arrived on time, (who was not Kurt but someone else on his team) all I had to do was show him where the grill was and the problem and he went to work on his own without needing assistance from me. At one point, the service tech asked me, since the grill was so old if I was interested in getting a new one instead and they will install it and take away my old one. I said absolutely as long as the new grill had all of the features that my old grill has and is equal to or less than the cost of what I would pay to have it fixed. He said he would check with Kurt and after consulting with him, they realized that the cost of a new grill with the same features would be around $3000-$5000. That was a no-brainer. So he continued to install the new wheels which he brought with him but those ended up being slightly smaller than what was required, and left the grill a little uneven (both wheels are on the right side of the grill). He said not to worry and that they had put the right size wheels on order and would come back no charge to install them once they arrive. He also cleaned my grill using what looked like some sort of drill cleaning tool thing. I didn't catch if he used any liquid cleaning solution, but the drill thing basically grinded down the surface layer of my cast-iron grill grates to remove all that gunk that had accumulated. He did use my backyard water hose, which was not a problem. I realize then that my cast-iron grill grates would have to be re-seasoned again and I was OK with that because that would have to be done no matter what. The whole process took about two hours and I was left with as clean of a grill as I was going to get for one that had 25 years of use and some rust. I was happy with the cleaning result. We were still left with the issue of the two wheels that were too small but they promised they had the right sized wheels on order and that they would come back and install them without charging me. The skeptic in me wondered if they would keep their word and come back since I paid them the full price of $571.05 for the wheel replacement and cleaning on the service day. Fast-forward 2 to 3 weeks after I had went out of the country and then returned I followed up with Kurt by text and inquired on the status. He assured me that the wheels were still on order and that he would contact me when they arrived to come out and install them. About a week went by sure enough I got a text from Kurt that they are ready to return to install the wheels. I said great and we set up a time and the technician showed up on time, installed the wheels (took about 10 minutes) and now they are perfect and everything looks great! I'm glad they kept their word and that the correct size wheels were installed because the smaller ones had already started to bow from taking too much weight from the grill. I am very happy with the results and so glad that I contacted Kurt and Bar-B-Clean. Pics coming soon of results.

I had a very disappointing experience with an assistant manager at the Georgetown, Texas Home Depot…read morewhile trying to resolve an issue regarding a washer and dryer purchase totaling over $1,000 that I had been told would be delivered that day. When I called for clarification, the assistant manager was dismissive and unhelpful. She insisted that my sister -- who lives in Chicago -- would need to come into the Georgetown store in person to resolve the issue. That is not realistic and certainly not reasonable for a delivery issue involving a $1,000+ major appliance purchase. She also suggested there may have been an issue because my sister's bank is "out of state." This explanation does not make sense. Many customers use banks or credit unions headquartered outside of Texas. Modern banking does not require a financial institution to be locally based in order to process a transaction. The comment felt inaccurate and dismissive. Additionally, she indicated that speaking with another manager would not change the outcome and suggested there was no avenue for further review or escalation. The message was clear that no one at the store level was willing to step in to reassess or attempt to resolve the situation. Instead of working toward a solution, there was no meaningful effort to clarify the delivery issue or provide assistance. For a $1,000+ appliance purchase, customers deserve clear communication, professionalism, and problem-solving -- especially when delivery is involved. Customers should never feel like a burden when attempting to spend significant money at a store. If this level of service is standard practice, I would encourage others to consider taking their business to a retailer that values and supports its customers.

In late January of 2025 I noticed some uneven shingle lines on the opposite side of the patio roof that Tobi and his team completed. From my previous post, Tobi assured us that the opposite side of the patio roofing was done correctly which is why he refused to redo the entire shingle work and just correct the area that was falling off (as seen in the pictures). I asked a 20+ year roofing professional to assess what I noticed and he confirmed that both sides were done incorrectly. There were areas with 3 nails per shingle or less and even some shingles with no nails at all. We chose to have the entire side (opposite side from which Tobi already corrected) re-roofed; including paper underlayment. Luckily there were no signs of water damage. This correction was north of $1,000 out of our pocket. My wife and I want everyone to know that we would not recommend Hill Country Outdoor Builders for any work moving forward. We are also starting to notice some loose paver stones on the end caps of our patio floor. Do your research with this company and ask a lot of questions before moving forward.
