I've waited a while to write this because the owners of MG Floors are friendly, personable people. They offer a low-pressure sales environment and were great about letting us keep samples for an extended time. However, after a few years of living with the results, I feel obligated to warn others: being nice does not equal quality workmanship or professional accountability. We were very clear about our "active kid" lifestyle (cleats, sports bags, etc.). We were assured multiple times that Luxury Vinyl Plank was a great durable option for us. We purchased one of their more expensive LVP lines (Coretec), yet it has performed significantly worse than the "low-quality 90s laminate" it replaced. The LVP is covered in dents and scratches from all the same normal things the laminate flooring handled without a blemish for many years. Installation week was a mess. Despite being home to answer questions, the crew made executive decisions without consulting us, many of which had to be corrected later. They didn't provide us with arrival times or communicate about the progress unless we asked, and even then they didn't show up at the times they gave us. The only phone number provided was the office number so there wasn't anyone to call for an update when they didn't arrive as expected. We were also hit with a surprise bill for extra leveling compound (they quoted us 3 bags but used 24 which was an additional $735), which makes the eventual failure of the leveling (details below) even more frustrating. Our furniture was moved around and stacked in whatever room they weren't working in and all of it had dents and dings in it when they were finished. They also had to come back and replace the new flooring in one room where they had rolled our piano over it, leaving indentations behind from its heavy weight. We incorrectly assumed underlayment would be included because every other estimate we got included it but MG chose not to use underlayment because it was "recommended, not required" and we didn't realize this until they were halfway done with installation. Every contractor we've spoken to since has shaken their head at this. We began to notice issues with the flooring itself only a couple months in and these have progressively worsened. We had a small bump in the kitchen floor from day one. MG came back to look at it and said they could not help us and suggested we contact the manufacturer (Shaw/Coretec) to escalate which we did. The representative determined the subfloor was not leveled properly and deemed this an installation problem. Despite their own suggestion to involve the manufacturer, MG Floors refused to fix the issue unless we paid them to come back and repair it (we did not). That spot has now cracked. Additionally, small flooring pieces near the edges of our cabinets weren't glued down and they've now slipped out of place under the quarter round, leaving visible gaps at the edges of the floor. MG installed new baseboards as part of the job which they painted after installation, essentially painting them to the floor. Now, there are large, ugly cracks in the paint where the two meet. Photos are included to illustrate what an eyesore this is. We reached out to MG multiple times via email, phone, and in person, and pleaded with them to make this right but they took zero accountability for their installation errors or their poor recommendations for our lifestyle. The only resolution they offered was for us to pay them more money to come back and replace individual damaged planks of flooring. Needless to say, we declined. If you want a floor that lasts more than six months and a company that stands behind their work, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

We visited the showroom Tues Nov 30th. All the samples we liked were not available and Miranda said she'd try to get a sales rep to accept her business as we had the name of a floor we'd liked at another place. She said she'd get back to me the next day. She never called on Wednesday or Thursday or ever. I called on Friday she said she hadn't heard anything from the vendor. Over the weekend we found the floor at Lowe's in stock at a great price. Today, I called Miranda to let her know we had found the floor. Only reason I called is because we had brought a sample of tile for backsplash and wanted them to come and measure for that. She became irate said that I had just made her spend $2000 to become a vendor for the company selling the floor we liked , couldn't believe she just hang up on me. They replaced the carpet on our stairs with vinyl. Within a matter of months, the nosepieces on several stairs were cracked, which is not just ugly but a safety hazard. Now they won't repair the damaged stairs and can't even provide replacement parts. We're very disappointed in both the quality of the work and the customer service. read more

Great folks to work with and all we had at the start of our bathroom remodel was a pencil sketch of the floor plan. After my wife picked out the floor and wall tiles Manor and Miranda helped pick out the accent tile and then the stone floor for the shower. As the project started we were able to adjust some things on the fly. We added a seat to the shower and a extension to the walk in as our original design had too large an opening. They had no problem modifying the framing to accommodate the changes and helped us by offering a few ways to change things from their experience. This came out so much better than I could have thought. The workers were courteous, super hard workers and cleaned up everything before leaving. We were forced to remodel when our house flooded. Having my house in disarray is very stressful for me. I told Miranda about our plight and that I wanted to get our floor as quickly as possible so that I could have my house back in order. It seems that Miranda does not really care about customers or doing business. What kind of business owner would assume that their customers are dishonest until proven otherwise? Well I guess Miranda does. After offering to give us a discount for paying cash for floor installation she decided that she would want all the money upfront. Versus a 75% down payment and 25% after installation if you pay by credit card. So for saving her money on credit card fees by paying cash she would assume you're going to rob her. Good job Miranda, well guess what, you lost a $10K deal and now someone else is going to benefit from my business. On another note, when I asked her to give us her best price taking into consideration that if we decide to go with them to install hardwood on our first floor, we will be using them again to do the same on our second floor. Guess what Miranda told us: "Yeah and then you are going to refer your friends and family to us and we'll get 10 other customers because of you. Everyone says that to us to get a better price." WOW! You get a 10/10 in terms of rudeness. Well guess what Miranda, you're getting one star and not a single referral. read more

We bought our house six years ago and did not hesitate to use MG Floors after a glowing recommendation from our realtor. At that time, they ripped up the horrible carpet and tile that was builder-grade in a then 12 year old home. The first floor was all we wanted to do at the time. We also pitched in for some granite countertops in the kitchen! This year we had them back to do the carpet and tile upstairs. We just had MG Floors install wood floors in our home. The job included removing tile, which in itself was a huge task. Carpet was also removed. Eric did all of the work and he was pleasant to be around, very trustworthy & dependable. He was on time and took pride in his craftsmanship. The wood was mixed widths, lengths, & the hand scraped look of it made the grain challenging to get just right....but Eric thought of it like a piece of art work. He took pride in getting each shade and width to look perfect. This kind of wood takes a little longer to install, but he was diligent and proved to be a true master at installing wood floors. We chose MG Floors for three main reasons and the overall process came down to the job as a whole: 1) The Beginning: they are family owned and local, not one of those big warehouses with salesman and ten ever-changing crews. Their showroom was clean, well lit, professional looking, and had easy access and an inviting flow when you first go in to pick out samples. Miranda and Manor (the owners) were very helpful in helping us choose the right floor, knowledgable, and they were both the most professional, approachable, reliable, and just honest, true, hardworking people anyone could work with. 2) The Middle: it was crucial that Eric (the installer and person who did the actual labor) be many things, but primarily he is a passionate craftsman who takes pride in the job. He also is dependable, reliable, experienced, trustworthy, and pleasant to be around (the job was 7 full days so we spent a great deal of time together and this is important when you have a family and pets). 3) The End: the obvious is the end result. We had tiling installed on our first floor last year by a national company and wanted to have the project completed, (master bedroom and closet)this year by the same company. Unfortunately, the tile we had originally chosen was not being manufactured anymore. This national company would NOT work with us to try and find any extra supply so we could have this job completed. I'm giving them 2 stars only because Miranda is super nice, which is the reason why we eventually decided to go with them. They are pretty competitively priced but their lead worker Alex tends to rush the job and the sloppy work showed. My husband decided to stay home from work to "supervise" and found so many sloppy mistakes from forgetting to stain certain parts of the molding to using damaged wood. I'm so glad my husband could be there to watch them, but most people don't have this luxury. It's also disappointing that Manor the owner didn't stop by one last time to take a look since it was such a huge job. You'd think he would do better when it comes to quality control. Unless you have a lot of time to spend supervising the workers, I would go with another flooring company. read more

For starters, Manor was on time for the appointment to measure, getting the quote back to me and finishing the entire job when he said he would. I went into their showroom thinking about getting a carpeted room replaced with a wood or engineered wood. They told me about a tile that looks like wood and then showed it to me. It did look just like wood. I had them come by to measure the room and give me an estimate. They said it would be 2 days for the tile to arrive and it would take them a day to install the tile and come back the next day, once the tile was dried in place, to put in the grout. I gave them the OK and all their estimates were right on the money. The tile arrived on time as did the crew both on tile day as well as on grout day. There were no nasty surprises and it turned out so well that I am now thinking of having them do a 2nd room with the same tile. They cleaned up the work area very nicely too. read more

MG Floors was able to accommodate our schedule and worked nonstop to get the job done. They demolished 1700 square feet of tile while keeping our home safe from dust and damage. They chiseled out a conduit in the foundation for an in floor electrical outlet, and removed all 1500 square feet of carpet upstairs followed by installing carpet, hard wood flooring, molding and the electrical plug. We happened upon MG Floors after I read numerous favorable reviews. We were remodeling and wanted to replace our carpet in the family room, dining room, and hall with a hardwood floor. We had replaced our bedroom floor the previous year, and wanted something similar. We looked at several different woods, but when Miranda told us she was able to get exact same flooring (same manufacturer, product number, stain, etc.) we had in our bedroom, we decided to go with that. We had to wait 3 months for the wood in our bedroom to come in, but MG was able to get it within the week. It was also much cheaper then we origianlly paid for our boodroom. I was very impressed with the company then, but the installation was incredible. The owner, Manor, had told me that he had someone that was an excelent installer, but that since he worked alone, it might take 5 days or so to finish. We decided to go with the one man. The man who showed up (Joshua) was unbelievable. He took the time to make sure the floor was completely level before he started - it took 19 bags of levelr over the 600 or so square feet. His work laying the wood strips was exceptional. He cut under our brick fireplace so the wood floor transition is seemless. He also did an excellent job of transitioning between the wood floor and our carpeted bedrooms. Overall, I was extremely pleased with Miranda and Manor as they helped decide what to use and how much wood to buy. Again, the installation was perfect. I would highly recommend MG Floors to anyone. read more
