I contacted Young Tile partway through a bathroom remodel after deciding the re-tiling of a shower may be too much to handle myself. Dustin responded very quickly to help produce a quote. There was no pressure to close the deal now or anything, just happy to answer my questions and let me make the decision. A few months later, I finally reached back out to start the work. Dustin promptly got me on the schedule. Austin then came out to verify everything and help make sure I had the materials I would need. The team always communicated very well. Made sure I knew when they would arrive and any impacts to the timeline, which included keeping me posted on shipping delays of our shower pan. Austin came in and on the first day, made sure to lay down tarps and other floor protection as needed to protect the parts not under construction. He made sure he understood my vision for the tile and then went to work. He dealt with common remodeling issues, like a slightly out of plumb wall, very well. I hired Young Tile to work on two bathrooms in my home. My 14 year old bathrooms were dated, I hated the quality of the work, plus my shower pan was starting to fail. Time to rip it all out! I've subcontracted out tile work on multiple remodels in the past and I can say without question that the guys at Young tile were the best. Both my wife and I are very picky and care about the small details, and the work done on our project was top notch. Some other things that stood out to me: the communication was very good (not typical from my contractor experience) - quick responses, status updates, arrival times, etc. also, they cleaned up the job site every day, you'd almost not know they were there. Another big plus- any reasonable request was met with a "no problem". Their work ethic and professionalism really shows in the end result. We were looking for large format tile installers for 36" x 36" patio tiles and came across Young Tile International in Austin. We coordinated with Dustin, one of the principals, and after a couple of emails and a lucky time slot, we were on their schedule within a day. While we supplied most of the materials, Dustin was helpful in providing additional guidance which we followed. Being in the construction industry, we were aware that large format tiles are more time consuming and are susceptible to cracking if the prep work was not done correctly. Austin and Robert (who actually came and did the installation) were very nice and professional and did an excellent job. Another (very experienced) installer we contacted while getting bids wouldn't even install the type of tile we had selected because he said it was too difficult to work with, but Austin and Robert installed it with no problem and I don't see any of the imperfections the other installer warned us about. After calling numerous contractors I went with Dustin and Young Tile International and I am so happy that I did. They did a top notch install which looks great and they went above and beyond keeping the house clean in the process. I'm shocked at how hard it is to get someone to install a backsplash. The first 4 tile installation companies never returned my phone calls or messages. Young Tile responded within a few hours and was onsite the next day for a written estimate! Their prices are higher than a handyman, but they were half one other tile installer offered. They charge by the day so it was a bit of a stretch on my small job, but they did an incredible job with the install. Glass tiles can be hard to cut (without getting a bad edge which will catch light and stand out) but all of the edges align perfectly. The only thing I wish I had done was have the backsplash rise all the way up to the ceiling! For less than $1000 labor/materials/tax I think it is an awesome kitchen upgrade. read more

I found Young Tile through Yelp and could not be happier! Austin and Robert did a fantastic job with my new kitchen backsplash, new master shower floor, and removing the old grout and re-grouting the master bath floor! They were very polite, good communicators, and very considerate about leaving the house as clean as possible during as well as once they completed the work. After finding them on Yelp, I called the office and spoke to Dustin who was able to get the guys out to the house very quickly to see my various projects. They explained the process for each project and quickly emailed me both a bid and recommendations for local tile companies. I knew which tile I wanted for the kitchen and by giving them a link they were able to get it from one of their suppliers without a problem. They even did a little work at my sister's house where she had to replace large modern trim in the master shower area that had been exposed to water damage. Austin and Dustin are fantastic. They retiled most of the flooring in our house and I couldn't recommend them more. To start, we had the tiles delivered to us and when their team began to lay the tile they immediately noticed that the tiles were slightly different because they were from two different batches. Instead of laying them anyway (which I guarantee most people would have done), they immediately called me and worked with me to get a new uniform batch from the tile store the same day. They picked up all new tile and even restacked the tile they had unboxed at my house so it could be neatly returned. They did a beautiful job and you can tell they truly care about their work. They use the best grout and advanced methods that lead to a higher quality result than most other companies - and it shows. A couple of months after our project was complete we had an issue with the tile that was not their fault. They responded to my text almost immediately and came back to repair it the next day. Overall our job had several issues that were out of their control and they handled it so professionally and efficiently. Tile can easily go SO WRONG and these guys know what they are doing. We went through an entire renovation and this was one of our favorite companies to work with by far. I am so thankful that we chose to use them given that there were several opportunities for this project to become a nightmare and they saved us at every turn. Love them! read more

If you need any kind of tile work done, you should call this company!! Dustin came out and gave me an estimate. I had a floor-to-ceiling (11') brick fireplace that I wanted covered with stacked slate. I also wanted the large brick hearth removed, and a wooden mantle installed. Curtis and Ricky were the installers, and they did an absolutely amazing job! The mantle, which was a solid 70 pound piece of pecan, was difficult to install and was very time consuming. It was no problem for Curtis and Ricky. After they installed the mantle, I placed a marble on it to see if it was level. The marble did not move! The fireplace was also challenging, as the slate needed to be wrapped around the corners, all the way up. Curtis and Ricky are perfectionists and they matched the right angles of each piece of stacked slate perfectly. They are conscientious, hard workers, very friendly and VERY good at what they do. I know that the job lasted longer than anticipated, due to the mantle installation, but Dustin stood by his estimate. I was very impressed. I have some other projects that will require tile work, and I am only going to call Young Tile International. I highly recommend them! read more

Two months ago, my living/dining area was transformed by the tile they installed. This was due to the quality of their work combined with the selection of tile from "The Tile Guy" on Anderson Lane, which is where I learned of Young Tile International. The process took five days; they were attentive to detail and the needs of the homeowner. For example, they were careful to place the tile and materials in the garage in such a way that my car would still fit in it. Also, they gave me a discount because they wouldn't be hauling off the pulled up carpet. I knew that soon after the completion of the job, the city collected would be collecting bulk trash and they did. Like everyone else, we had an amazing experience with Dustin and Austin and their entire crew (Curtis, Wayne, etc). After a dishwasher leak left us with ripped up laminate flooring we decided to upgrade to a wood-look plank porcelain tile. We knew from reading online that plank tiles can be trickier to install than others, so we wanted real professionals to help. The Young brothers were so professional, organized and a pleasure to talk with. Despite thinking we'd have to wait a few months for availability, they were able to squeeze our project in after a cancellation - a godsend when you're living without floors in your kitchen! Because our home has one large, continuous space, we had the plank tile put down in a 1200 sq/ft of space. Dustin and Austin demo'd our old floor, spent extensive time making sure our 1960's/East Austin floors were appropriately prepped and leveled for the tile and installing. They did a beautiful herringbone pattern throughout the living spaces and we opted for a slightly different pattern in an adjoining bedroom. The Young brothers were exceedingly accommodating - even when we had a few hiccups with our tile order and delays getting the last shipment we needed for them to complete the job. The end result is amazing - pictures don't do it justice! My only regret is that we didn't gut the two downstairs baths for them to do while they were here!
