My elderly parent's water heater leaked and made a mess in their laundry room and garage. They called Together Design & Build and Avri, the project manager, came right out. Avri was able to get them scheduled right away. He kept them informed every step of the process. Avri did a great job! Jose was our contractor. It only took him a few days to complete the job. He really took his time and did an excellent job. I would highly recommend Together Design & Build. They were prompt, professional, and the price was fair. The owner refuses to take responsibility in public, while sending nicer emails in private and trying to phone . . . this is /deception/ on a stick. You do not say one thing in public and in private say "I didn't really mean that." Ido is upset this negative review and would like it gone, but is unwilling to apologize or be truthful. Do business with this guy at your risk.] I have tried to use this company twice. Both times, appointments were easy to set-up and Maria (not sure how to spell her name) was kind, helpful, and lovely. I had a minor flood and needed a company to work with my home insurance for the repairs. "Together Design" was one of four contractors I consulted, all with excellent reviews here and on Google. Avri the project manager was courteous and helpful, and was the last estimate I needed for the insurance company. I waited some weeks, but an estimate never came. I finally called the Avri's phone number on the caling card he cave me (I think I woke him up, sounded groggy at first). Avri said that my expectation for an estimate was misguided, and that he's being doing this job for quite a while. He said that the way "Together Design" works is that they only provided an estimate once I hired them. I said this is backwards, that I am to receive estimates and select the company I felt comfortable with in consultation with my adjuster. Avri stared to make excuses, none of which addressed my concern--that to consider them, I needed an estimate. I found his customer service quite rude: he kept cutting me off, he would not listen, he was defensive, made excuses, and so on. He stressed his experience, to which I responded three other contractors have already provided estimates and I was waiting for his. Avri said estimate-first is not how they do business, but he would get an estimate to my adjuster ASAP anyway. After a few days without an estimate, I went with another contractor. Maria called to follow up, and I told her my issues. She asked if I could give them another chance, I said not at the time, as time was of the essence and I needed the work to start yesterday. Disappointing, but I was ready to move on. Flash forward five months later, and I haired a crooked contractor who I am now unfortunately suing (cannot review them yet until that suit moves forward). I remembered Maria asking if I could give them another chance, so I decided to call again. Like the first time, communication was clear, easy, and Maria was very easy to work with. I was asked if I wanted to work with Avri again, and I said absolutely not given how poorly he handed the first time. Days later, however, I received a phone call and Maria said she was "calling with news." After she shared with the project managers my videos and photographs, they concluded my "scope" of my project was "not a good fit." I asked if it was "too small" or "two large" of a job. She said, "uhhhh . . . legally I can't say." I found this quite odd. She apologized, expressed wanting to help, but it was not something they are willing to do. I asked again why, and she would not say. Perhaps it was because I did /not/ want to work with Avri, but another PM. As I was about to post this review, I received a message from "Ido" who said their company /only/ takes on remodels from "start to finish." This was the first I have heard this excuse, it's certainly not mentioned in their advertising. If this were truly the case, I should have been told this upfront so I did not waste my time again. Maria asked I give them a second chance, and I did. This is a private business, and it's their right to turn down any client. Absolutely. It's also my right to report my experience. I'm trying to be careful not to be too judgement, but not being "legally" able to tell me why they wouldn't take the job the second time appears deceitful, as does "Ido's" explanation they /now/ only do start-to-finish remodels. Magnificent gut renovation of two bathrooms for our parent's Austin home!!! The reviews are all absolutely real and correct! We searched online for a company and thought a company could not be that perfect-- but after research and experiencing it-- they definitely deserve perfection in their reviews. We are based out of NY and wanted to do renovations for a Texas home. TDB was willing and capable to take on the task. We had a rocky start with our first designer. That's when the owner, Roi, stepped in and took care of our project with utmost care and professionalism. We communicated through Whatsapp-- which is preferred to communicate through text or pictures since we can handle phone calls all day given our jobs. Their design store, crystal communication between our parents and us-- made the project seamless. They are extremely meticulous in their renovation process-- updating us daily as to the progress. Waterproofing, shower/tub installation, fixture installing, design advice-- all spot on. No corners were cut and Roi made sure we were completely satisfied. Our parent's have used these bathrooms for the past 9 months and they love their bathrooms. Sorry Roi for the late review. But it's been on our minds for months and you and your team deserve all the online accolades for your work! read more

They seemed a good fit until... Many mishaps along the way. 1. The toilet paper holder was unevenly installed. I discovered this when I tried to change it out with another one (see picture). Can't be reused. Now I have to put more holes into the wall to secure a new holder. 2. The plumbing, same guy, installed pipes with a leak due to improper sealing and inspection of their work. I discovered the wet spot on the floor below the leak the next morning. Wood floors of Australian Cypress by the way. Running the water a few seconds, you could feel the water slowly leaking. 3. The door to a new kitchen cabinet was not the shaker style that I clearly stated (many times), that I needed to match the current cabinets. A little push back, and they finally remade it to the shaker style. It was a good job too. Matched perfectly to the existing cabinets. 4. For the drawer pull, they said they'd research where to find the same style handles that were used in the kitchen. Nothing happened on their research. Always a promise. Never a result. Excuses were, it'll be hard to find as this is an old house. Finally, after weeks of opening the drawer with my fingers wedged between the counter wood and cabinet, I offered to switch out the bathroom pulls on another cabinet upstairs to use in the kitchen. I solved the problem. Recently, when I had time, after thirty-five minutes of research, I found that the bronze kitchen handles do exist. 5. I asked the project manager if putting the drawer pull into the thinner part of the wood as opposed to the thicker part would be a problem. He said, SURE. IT'D BE FINE ON THE THINNER WOOD. The wood split (see picture). The project manager texted me to say: NORMALLY WE MOUNT IT ON THE SHAKER PORTION OF THE DOOR WHICH IS THICKER. WE HAVEN'T ENCOUNTERED THIS PROBLEM BEFORE... BECAUSE... WE NEVER... MOUNT ONTO THE FACE WHERE... YOU WANTED IT. Blamed the customer when I asked him specifically if it would hold or not. AND HE SAID... IT WOULD BE FINE. 6. I had asked that the drain below the sink in the bathroom be in the matching silver chrome of the sink legs. I was assured they'd do that. Instead, they opted for a cheap fix of white plastic. An eyesore so the entire esthetics of what I was trying to achieve didn't happen. That I'm going to change the vanity, I didn't complain. And also, by this time knew I was done with this company. 7. The install of the chrome legs of the sink... were made by same carpenter who installed plumbing, toilet paper, and handle. The legs are not aligned. You can see this is the photo. Seek out the wood panel where one leg is at the edge of inner seam and the other nearer to the outer seam. Not aligned straight. Not the manufacturer's issue. Installer's issue. No excuse. I pointed this out several times to the project manager who just ignored my comments. 10. Now, confidently, I have new contractors and a licensed plumber to install the new vanity and plumbing and faucets... toilet paper holder... and to help with other projects. I was going to use them to install an outdoor stairwell to the second floor of a casita. Same carpenter. Same project manager. No way. And there was a story on this as well... too long to waste my time on. I have an architect with an engineer on staff to do this project. But I will say this, I tested them on this small project first. The value for the price paid was not there. I wish I had the great experiences others had, but I do wonder... and to be fair, the wallpaper installer did a fairly good job with very little seams showing through. read more

Ido, you raised a valid point in my review and the primary Spanish speaking trades people that were assigned to our project. They were hardworking and did their best. However, whenever they had a question they would interrupt me and try to ask questions. Unfortunately, I am not fluent in Spanish and that was a problem. There was no one here for them to communicate with easily. We would attempt to use Google translator and it was a tough situation. Having to work remote as my company had not returned to office due to Covid, there were a lot of interruptions. People take the easy route... We raised this issue with Roi on multiple occasions and it just remained a problem. Last point... Quite simply, quality stands the test of time and that isn't our experience from your project oversight. Also, it hasn't been over two years as we just signed off on the completion certificate August 10, 2023. We can see baseboards that didn't have any caulking, but were simply painted and now you can see the separation from the wall. Nail holes were not properly filled and painters didn't want to properly prepare surfaces prior to painting. There's more, but I'll leave it at that. In short, our position remains the same regarding my review other than the clarification regarding the Spanish speaking. No need to contact us further regarding this topic. read more

We've got prior experience with other contractors ranging from pretty good to awful (abandoned project and ghosted us). Together Design and Build picked up where the awful one left off and completely turned our project around. They overcame a number of obstacles that were the result of the subpar work of the previous contractor and gave us the master suite we've dreamed of for years. The job included complex plumbing, electrical, floor and ceiling repair, floor leveling, carpet and baseboards, insulation, outdoor siding repair, installation of a vanity and fixtures, and numerous other odds and ends. The previous contractor cut joists to accommodate plumbing and TDB brought in an engineer to ensure the joists were repaired safely. We were so happy with their work that we nearly immediately hired them to refresh our son's bedroom and now we're looking forward to hiring them again when we're ready to tackle another major renovation we're planning that will include another bedroom w/ on-suite bathroom, major roof repair, and extending the roof to create a large outdoor seating area by our pool. We had already been working with our own interior designer, but TDB has a designer on staff and they have a nice office where you can browse cabinets, flooring, fixtures, etc. It's a nice place. Sahar was our project manager and it's hard to express what an absolute pleasure it is to have him on your team. He diligently kept the project moving forward and always kept us informed. He cares deeply about taking care of you and his level of ownership is off the charts. As should be expected some things required a little iteration and we always ended up with a great result. After not so great experience with a previous contractor we were very picky with finding a contractor for our full bathroom remodel/plumbing relocation/extension. While others came in with high pressure sales tactic Ido instead gave great feedback on the plan, and ideas on how to make it better without putting pressure on us. After having spoken with half a dozen contractors came out as the clear winner. After getting a competitive quote we looked at different things to make the right choice and everything was correct with Together Design & Build We started picking materials a few weeks before the project and Ido was a great help with tile selection. He made sure we were aware of the project start date and everything that he needed to start. With all of the materials on hand we started the project on time. Originally the project was supposed to take ~3weeks, but we finished at 4 weeks, but it was ok due to rotten wood we found when the wall was removed, Ido replaced it without asking any extra charge that Which is not obvious from contractor perspective. During the project the workers were diligent, polite, and very respectful. They kept the worksite very clean and were responsive to any issues that brought up. Any minor issue we had was immediately taken care of! While construction is a messy and painful business, "Together" took a lot of the pain out of the process! I would have to be very nit picky to find things that I would complain about the process with "Together" and Ido. read more

They removed walls, completely redesigned our kitchen and primary bath, and renovated the 2nd bath. TDB touched every surface in our house and made it exactly what we wanted. Kevin Peña was our foreman. He is the best. He has a magic touch- everything he does is perfect. He works clean and does exactly what he says he will. He is kind and patient. He made helpful suggestions and knew when to step back and let me make design choices. Ido was great in dealing with the city and permitting processes. Together Design and Build is dishonest. All the images on their website are stolen off the internet. Every image on there can be found on multiple websites through a Google reverse image search. I would recommend hiring the contractors they used for our project directly who did excellent work - GNZ Builders. They did not pay GNZ Builders the full amount owed and told blatant lies to get out of it. We had several issues with Design & Build that we were not happy with--they forgot to take a few measurements which resulted in us not having enough tile. They were very slow to get the materials to the contractors, so our quoted 3 week project that they thought would really only last 2 weeks dragged on for almost a full month. They somehow do not include glass as part of their estimate. We did a bathroom remodel with a shower stall, so glass was an essential part of the bathroom. They did bring up that the glass would be need to be done by a "separate company" but we thought this would mean they are using different contractors for that portion. I am still baffled how a remodeling company can not include this and claim their work is completed when we have a shower that we are unable to use at the end of the project. The last day of the job, they said the work was finished. We called out some issues we saw that night and requested they be fixed. The ventilation fan that was installed had no duct and vented directly into the attic. One of the door trims was not the correct length. The contractor told us upfront that he let TD&B know about it and they told him to just cut a small piece off some other door trim and put it together, which of course looked sloppy, but they would not pay to purchase the correct size. Some things needed caulking and a transition piece needed to be glued down again, but those weren't major. The next day one of the owners (Roi) comes over to fix the issues, but has a contractor with him who we had never seen before. We thought this was weird since the same 2 men were consistently working on our bathroom for the past month, but we shrugged it off. Once the work was completed, Roi told us they would waive the final payment as a gesture of goodwill since we were unhappy about some things and the work took longer than expected. We had been satisfied with the original contractors (GNZ Builders) and had previously gotten their business card so we could hire them directly for more work. We got in contact with them after the remodel was finished and learned that Together Design & Build had told them we said we were unhappy with the work they did and were refusing to make the final payment, so they would not be get paid the full amount agreed upon. In order to try and prevent GNZ from getting in touch with us, Roi and Ido (other owner) said we were threatening to call the cops on them. (!!!!) We talked at length with the owner of GNZ Builders and learned so many lies that were told to each of us. The issue with the vent fan had been called out, but GNZ said it would be an extra cost for them to do that, so Design & Build was happy to just let the air blow into the attic. When we had brought the issue up, Roi acted like he had just forgotten to bring over the duct that was needed to vent the air outside. He and Ido told GNZ that we weren't satisfied and they didn't do all the necessary work (citing things like the door trim) and used it as an excuse to pay them less. I am so angry these frauds got any of our money and disgusted they have been able to run their business like this. There is no doubt in my mind that they have been lying and cheating contractors out of money for years. read more

I had a great experience working with Ido and the crew at Together Design & Build! They converted an open space in my home to an enclosed office space with french doors and a transom window. The costs were very reasonable compared to the other quotes I received and the quality of work was fantastic. I knew I wanted a window, but wasn't sure where or how to source it. Ido gave me some ideas and then called me back to say he'd thought of it some more and had an even better idea that was actually the easiest & quickest to source (having a piece of glass custom cut and installed vs. an actual window in a very particular size). The purchase of the window and door were my responsibility to get the project started, but I really appreciated the guidance there. Ido AND the 2-person crew that worked on my project were extremely polite and very good at communicating every step of the way and making sure I was happy with the progress and had a chance to weigh in on any decisions along the way. For example, when they installed the pre-hung door I purchased, the gap between the bottom of the door was on the big side and they thought to check in with me before moving onto the next step and ended up adjusting it a few times until it was just right. Several times he provided expert guidance and even proactively corrected mistakes made by the subcontractors before we noticed them. My partner and I bought our very first home in South Austin last November and knew we wanted to remodel our bathrooms eventually. Around July, we gathered some estimates from a few different companies, but as soon as we met with Ido we felt completely at ease and trusted he would deliver on our dream bathroom. He was professional, easy to communicate with, knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions and concerns. Shortly after, we signed a contract with Together Design & Build for our master bathroom and powder room remodel, with Ido as our Project Manager. At the beginning, there are a million decisions to make on layout, design and finished materials. Ido came with us to a few showroom appointments to create our vision, and offered some great guidance on what materials would look good together but also be functional, while giving us the creative freedom. The vendors he works with were excellent and very helpful - Highly recommend ProSource for tiles! After our materials were purchased, we had a 5-6 week timeline from Ido for project completion. It was a smooth experience from demo day to the final walkthrough. We didn't realize how messy and dusty a house can get during a bathroom remodel, and working from home can be tricky during construction, so we decided to travel a few weeks during construction - cannot recommend this enough! We felt safe doing this with Ido providing a lockbox for the contractors, and Ido was often onsite with them checking in on progress and providing us plenty of FaceTime calls and photos along the way. Inevitably, there will be things that go wrong during construction. For example, during the demo they accidentally hammered through the siding on our house. Ido responded so professionally and quickly took action to repair the siding. He soaked in all of our stress for us, and made us feel like his top priority. If and when there are hiccups during your project, you can count on Ido that he will do the right thing and provide a solution. I think the biggest benefit to hiring a company to manage your remodel versus independently hiring contractors is the value of time. Ido did all of the project planning and management for us, coordinating who shows up and when, delegating tasks and catching them up to speed on the project design, functionality and details. Additionally, all of the contractors we worked with through Ido were very professional and pleasant to work with and delivered on time! Our bathroom remodels turned out better than we imagined. We recently renovated our house. This included 2 kitchens, 2 bathrooms, large living room and theatre room. He and his crew are one of the most reliable team I have come across, and that is something in the construction/renovation industry. Not the cheapest in town, but this is the first project (been involved in many similar ones prior) on which costs were pretty much as we discussed at the beginning and results exceeded expectations. We had very few surprises and when we did, they were managed by the team. There were issues, as are to be expected, but Ido and team did not hesitate taking responsibility and making every effort to figure a way out and find resolution. A bonus : Ido and team gave pretty good design inputs. Allowed us to make wonderful choices that gave us a beautiful product. We absolutely love how it came out. Our new home was in desperate need of a new kitchen.  TDB helped us with a new floor plan, new cabinets and countertops and I couldn't be happier with the results.  The cabinets are top quality.  Our project manager, Jesse, was easy to work with and our designer, Tera, added some extra visual interest in the cabinets that really make the kitchen unique. My wife and I purchased a home over the summer and decided almost immediately we wanted to remodel the master bathroom to give it a more modern look and a spa feel. We decided to go with TDB and Avi and are very happy with the outcome as his team delivered a beautiful bathroom. First in using TDB, we were very involved in the entire remodel process. We described what we wanted and Avi took us to different places to get quality materials at good prices. We described what we were looking for (vanity, tile, vanity top, etc.) and Avi took us to places where we could get good deals on the materials. He advised us on the things we should purchase through Amazon as well. After we purchased most of what was needed for the job, Avi's team got to work. I developed a very detailed budget for the project, but there were small things I did not account for in the job which caused my estimate to be off by about 15%. The bathroom looks amazing. His team was very professional and did outstanding quality work from start to finish. The tile work Gerber did in the bathroom is amazing. The detail and craftsmanship was amazing. QUALITY work. The team was very efficient and, if not for the holidays, would have completed the job in 3 weeks. We did have a few days where there was confusion on the start time of the crew, but we worked through it. We are glad we did the remodel. The bathroom looks amazing. We look forward to relaxing in our bathroom/ spa for years to come. read more

I do not believe Together Design and Build to be an honest and ethical company. There were lies from the beginning. Said they do 100% of the work in house, when in fact they subcontract out the actual work, which I know is normal and fine, but it was just the start of many lies. The company doing the actual work (GNZ Builders) was great. GNZ Builders later told us that TDaB tried to bully them in to wearing TDaB shirts to keep up the appearance of all being from the came company. The only useful thing TDaB did themselves was help us select tile that would look good and work with our space. The time line given by TDaB for the project was not clearly communicated in that they never stated until nearing the end that the time (and the work) of getting glass installed for the shower was not included in their "project time", as it would have to be done by another company. This was never communicated to us at the beginning. However, not even counting extra time for the glass, their portion of the project took almost twice as long as what they first told us. The contractors advised us that TDaB was not always delivering materials on time to the them, either because they did not order correct amounts or order them on time. TDaB lied about this and blamed the contractors for being slow. In a rush to finally finish, they cut loose the contractors before the finishing touches were done, but told us it was completed. I fully believe they would have left things unfinished and just hoped we wouldn't notice. After pointing it out, they brought on a new contractor to wrap those things up. They lied to the original contractors claiming that we didn't want them to return and they also used this as an excuse to not fully pay the contractors. In looking at their other reviews, I see that they have left themselves positive reviews. They have not been doing business in Austin for the 5+ years as they claim. Their website was registered earlier this year, and all their reviews, which seem suspicious to me, are from this year. The project photos featured on their website are easily found in various other places on the internet and are clearly not their own work, yet in our initial meeting with TDaB, they stated that the photos were all from their own projects. They have previously run companies in Florida and California, and now here. Research their names, previous company names, and who is leaving positive reviews - you will find some interesting patterns. read more

We would highly recommend Together Design & Build because we're happy with their work and trust them. The team are professionals all the way. Ido and his team were responsive, dedicated, and detailed. They worked in a short amount of time under strict constraints to do an extensive remodel of our house, which included the following: inside/outside paint, complete demo and remodel of master bath, complete demo and remodel of powder room, and remodel of kitchen. At each stage of the project, which consisted of several phases, we were given time to review and give feedback on how we felt about the work and construction. If we weren't happy, Ido and the team would re-work and detail out any issues until we were satisfied. This didn't happen often. But Ido's primary goal was our satisfaction. Also, Ido was communicative and helpful during all phases of the project: demo, design, material selection, and construction. He walked us through all the requirements and was in constant contact with us. We talked and messaged daily. Ido and team were patient with us through the entire project, even when we added additional projects to the scope. Remodeling a home can be extremely stressful and frustrating, especially while you're living in your home! It's important to partner with people that you can trust and with people that will be patient with you. We feel like we built that trust with Ido, his team, and Together Design & Build; we also know that they can patiently guide you from beginning to end. Ido gave us a reasonable timeline, competitive quote and some brilliant ideas which we didn't even think about.
