When my home flooded unexpectedly, I was left with a terrible insurance adjuster and scrambling for a contractor. After interviewing multiple contractors, I found that the majority where extremely sexist and unreliable; however, the insurance company informed me I had limited time for hotel coverage, so I was extremely pressured to find not only a contractor, but a contractor that could start right away. After I had given up hope of finding a contractor, my boyfriend found ProTech Construction and after vetting them out for me, I reach out to ProTech Construction. They came out the next day and gave me a quote. And I am so thankful for them, because they saw the urgency in my situation and voluntarily made room in their schedule to start on my home right away. During my time working with them, I slowly found out the hidden gem that I had discovered. ProTech Construction is not just A CONTRACTOR, but an entire family from New Mexico who moved out to Texas to grow and support their family business. They are a family who genuinely care, respect, and take so much pride in the work they do for you. Response was prompt and Anthony was at the home on time to view the scope of work. Unfortunately, he was not as timely in getting the estimate to us. Furthermore, the estimate did not come in a professional capacity. We received it verbally. We requested an emailed quote but the only written form we received was by text message. It did not break down cost of materials or labor, only totals per room. Upon asking for a professional quote on letterhead, we were informed that there would be $100 fee. No other contractor we have worked with has charged us for a detailed, professional quote. Although Anthony was very friendly, the lack of follow through was cause for concern. read more

Choosing a contractor to do a major kitchen remodel is a weighty decision. Especially if you have no experience in remodels. We looked at several firms, took bids, looked at each company's customer reviews and just when we thought that we weren't finding the right fit, we called Pro Tech Construction Inc.. We knew from the first meeting with owner Anthony Rosette, that we had found a good guy. He did not try to oversell, or pressure us into anything over our budget. He listened and was not only patient with our decision making on how to expand, but he helped us explore the various options for enlarging the space within our budget. It was a major remodel--down to dirt floor and outer walls. Some walls were totally removed and others relocated. Anthony's work crew, Scott, Shane, Frank, & Colton primarily, were outstanding workers. They showed up when they said they would, worked hard, kept the work area sealed off, cleaned up the area at the end of each day and were extremely responsive to questions or feedback. We knew right away that our satisfaction was their #1 concern. We could not be happier with the final result and are now enjoying our dream kitchen. It is stunning! Protech Construction. Their slogan should be, You Can't Expect Perfection. After all, I've heard that at least half a dozen times throughout the project. What business owner would ever tell a customer that? If he had included that in his sales pitch to gain your business, would you sign a contract with him?? Not likely. This project was a mess from the start. It's a long read but very much worth your time. First thing you should know is, no one will show up before 9:30 AM and no work will begin before 10 AM. You are lucky to get 15 minutes notice that they are coming that same day. They would not put any plastic up to help prevent the dust from the demolition from getting all over our brand new bedroom suit. The master bedroom was literally covered in dust and when we asked them to put plastic up, they just told us to quit complaining. Anthony acts like you should be grateful he is doing the work for you and you keep your mouth shut and let them do their job. After all, dust is part of the process, right? We know that and they know that. If they know that then why wouldn't they at least make an attempt at keeping the dust down rather than saying, yeah, it's going to get dusty, there is nothing we can do. Finally, after 6 weeks of "complaining" they came in and put up plastic, but the damage was already done. I asked them to have a cleaning lady come and dust the room and vacuum and they sent 2 of their guys over one evening with Windex and paper towels to clean wood furniture! Really?? I understand that accidents happen from time to time, but they flooded our bathroom and didn't tell anyone. We only found out 3 days later when my wife went in the master closet to get more of her clothes out and her socks were soaking wet from the water in the carpet. And we thought they were just being nice and wet the floor to keep the dust down. Wrong! Then the tile guy who is supposed to be so great walked out on the job for who knows what reason, so 2 of their guys had to step in and complete the tile in the shower. They also said they wouldn't start tiling until all of the tile was there and ready to go and that is understandable, but the only tile that was missing was the edge pieces that go on last and the wall tiles because they talked us into going all the way up to the ceiling. There was plenty of tile for them to begin tiling while we had the other tile ordered. We had it expedited for an additional $100 so they wouldn't be waiting on us. Well, the tile showed up 2 days later and they didn't end up needing it for 3 additional days. So, we lost $100 and 2 days awaiting on tile for nothing. Then there is Kings Shower Doors. That was straight up amateur hour there. These guys installed the glass all crooked because one of the sections was cut too long so in order to fix that mistake they had to adjust the longest section to get it to fit right and it was so crooked it stuck out like a sore thumb. If it didn't fit right they should have come to me or Anthony right then and asked if that would be acceptable to us before they caulked it all in place, but they didn't. I asked them to replace the one section that was too long so we could get the one long piece to fit symmetrically with the shower curb. And after several meetings and a lot of arguing they agreed to do it. So now they cut the caulk out with razor blades so they can remove the glass and they dig long gouges into the marble in the process. So naturally that all needed to be repaired. All they had to do was cut one of the sections a shorter length and it all would have fit right from the very beginning but for whatever reason they just took it upon themselves to install it all and walk away. I found out later that this was only the 2nd time they used these guys. Then we start getting texts in the middle of the night asking for money for work that hasn't been completed. They wanted me to pay for all of the tile installation when one of the bathrooms hadn't even been tiled yet. I asked Anthony if he would cut the tile cost in half and he said no, but that he would adjust he amount since the bathroom that still needed to be tile was much smaller and I agreed to pay 4,300 of the $7,300 that was due and when the smaller bathroom was tiled, I would pay the remaining $3,000. Nope, Everything we discussed was conveniently forgotten. Anthony stopped the tile guy from coming out to do the grout, which was in breach of contract, until I paid the full $7300 for the tile and the tile wasn't even completed because it still needed grouting. I got the weird feeling that they were running out of money or something and needed more money quickly from me to fund other jobs they had going on. I don't know. It was really strange the way they were acting. It was really strange because I have always paid my invoices on time without delay. Bottom line is. Go with someone else. Why put up with all the headaches, foul language, mistakes, delays, excuses and bait and switch? read more

Pro Tech is rude and provoke arguments about agreed upon requirements. They view refusal to permit workers use carroded rusty metal, faulty unstable braces when installers said they could not properly level the countertop and ensure structual stability and replacement of defective and chipped tiles micro management. Pro tech no only stretch the truth but flat out lie. After Anthony Jr ran through my house yelling to the workers to pack up and leave he told me he would not return to do finish the work unless I called him and asked him to return. I immediately called his father to complain about his unprofessional behavior. The workers did not show up to finish the work for 2 days and I never call then asking them to return. My phone records will prove this.I only call 1 other time to have them fix faulty closet at which time Anthony Sr began taking pictures in my home and I told him he wasn't allow to take pictures. He forced his way through my home taking pictures and I tried to block the view from his camera when he threatened to kick my ass. He claims this never occurred and he wasn't in town but I'm certain that the airlines could verify his arrival and departure times from Albuquerque. A police report was files. They claim that tools and tile left on the job. They never left and tools and I have an invoice that notes that I paid for all of the tile. I requested that they return the tile and deduct that from the balance that I owed. They refused and said I could keep the tile that I actually paid for. By their own accounting they actually owe me $800 for the unused tile. I gave Pro Tech a 5 star rating on the quality of work because I did not wish to detract from actual work done by the actual workers. They were professional and really artists in their craft. My problems is with the management of Pro Tech. They can not be trusted on any level. read more
