They also installed new floors, painted walls, removed popcorn ceilings, and updated the guest bathroom. We unexpectedly had to replace all of the wiring and insulation but those kinds of issues can be expected when you remodel a house built in the 70's. We worked with Arie and Justin. We used the WhatsUp app for communication, which was helpful. There were some challenges with communication; however, once those got resolved, things went smoothly. We contracted with LFM to remodel a small kids bathroom and had a great experience with Tommy, Jose, and the rest of their crew. The bathroom had not been updated since the 70s and a small leak from the plumbing was starting to cause water spots on the ceiling of the room below. We had several companies come out to bid on the project but ultimately chose LFM because we trusted them and worked well with Tommy. The project went smoothly and Tommy frequently stopped by to check on progress. I really liked the WhatsApp thread used to communicate since it kept everyone on the same page. They also provided an easy to use spreadsheet to help track what we needed to purchase for the project and when we would need it. Tommy was always great to jump in and provide recommendations when we got stuck since this was our first remodel project. Our goal was to open up the room as much as possible since it was originally small and crammed. Tommy and Jose did a great job providing recommendations and confirming what we could and couldn't due with the space. They ended up creating a lot more space by removing a doorway frame, removing unnecessary soffits, and converting the door to a pocket door. The rest of the crew was always friendly and cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. They were also easy to work with for any remaining punch list items. We love the final result and the kids are so happy to have a new (pink) bathroom to use. We also ended up adding a few small projects at the end since we had such a good experience with the team. We had them re-insulate our attic, including removal of the old insulation and foam boards. They also demoed a built-in cabinet in our hallway and repaired the wall so we can make the space more usable. I'm going to echo some of the things that the other reviews have said: communication was spotty at first but once the project officially began work was quick, efficient and well-done. I had a car crash into my garage on Christmas Eve (not a great present.) I contacted a few companies for quotes and LFM came in with a good price and also with experience - Arie and Justin showed me photos of a very similar project they did. The biggest issue wasn't with LFM but with the driver's insurance dragging their feet. But through the process, like having an adjustor come out from Geico, Justin from LFM also came out to be with them through the process. Once I got approval for the amount from Geico there was a slight lag in getting the actual contract signed with LFM. However, once it was signed, work began in earnest and they did their quickly and efficiently. Any issues that arose they were able to fix rather quickly. Overall my experience with LFM - Justin in particular - was great. read more

I worked with Tommy at LFM to complete a bathroom remodel with the goal of modernizing the look and correcting some really bad tiling from the previous owner. This was in advance of me moving out and renting out the house, so I wanted to be cost-conscious and not go crazy on things that the renters might beat up quickly. Tommy helped make design decisions when I needed a 2nd opinion, or just wanted tok know what's modern and current. The project completed on time and within the budget originally quoted. What was very nice was that Tommy was easily reachable if I had any concerns or questions and he responded immediately. His crews were also always working -- I was never left wondering where they were, like I have with other contractors. They also removed all the debris and demo from the project as promised, another item other contractors seem to struggle with. Overall I had a very nice experience with Tommy at LFM. read more

I am very dissatisfied with LFM Construction and Remodeling. When asked about the most important aspect of my bathroom remodel, I emphasized craftsmanship. Unfortunately, in my opinion, there was not a skilled craftsperson in the entire team. I felt the finishing was sloppy and unacceptable for anyone knowledgeable in the field. Tommy Halbertal informed us at the contract signing that he did not want us hovering over the workers and watching them work. If such a request is ever made of me again, I will cancel the job immediately. The project was supposed to take 2-3 weeks from the start date but ended up taking 7 weeks. Realizing my mistake in hiring LFM Construction and Remodeling to remodel my master bathroom to make it ADA compliant, I revisited the internet to understand where I went wrong in vetting the company. Despite my efforts, I could only find positive reviews. It seems impossible for LFM Construction and Remodeling to perform so poorly without it being a systemic issue. When addressing the punch list, new issues arose because they would create new problems while fixing existing ones. For example, while fixing a paint issue, they chipped a tile. I was so frustrated with Tommy and his crew that I eventually negotiated a minor discount and decided to finish the punch list myself. As I complete the work, I am discovering areas in the shower that have not been caulked. In the end the look of the bathroom is good superficially, however if I hadn't caught the caulking problems, the framing underneath would likely have rotting without me ever knowing it. During construction, companies typically put down floor protectors. LFM taped heavy brown paper over our Berber carpet, which would have been fine except that my husband is in a wheelchair (hence the ADA compliance) and we could not access our bedroom or bathroom without wheeling over the paper, which tore it up and created a tripping hazard. I feel a reputable company would have replaced this daily or used a more durable floor protector. read more

LFM reached out to us to "fix the issue" by requesting us to remove or change the review from one star to four star in exchange for the refund due to incomplete work. He claimed that the form was merely to confirm the project's completion and that we owed nothing further. From our previous experience with LFM in the beginning, they did not honor their contract nor their words, and kept changing contract terms, pricing, and pressure to pay more. At this stage, I rather pursue the legal actions instead of continuing engaging with them. This approach reflects a concerning trend we experienced with LFM throughout our engagement, where they consistently made promises only to change the terms later. Their tactic of visiting our premises to request a review change in exchange for a refund feels unethical and is not an acceptable business practice. I don't usually post reviews but wanted to make sure others don't fall into the same situation as me. We put out a request on Yelp and of course, LFM and other vendors respond quickly because they know that time to response at form initial inquiry is critical. LFM's Project Manager Jackson Rothman came the next day and quoted $9k for remodeling our master bathroom, which we signed a contract for, saying things like he'll be there to support us every step of the ways and look at our reviews on google, etc, etc. He seemed a bit off, repeating the same questions over and over again but we went with LFM because of pricing. That was our first mistake. Right before the project started, Jackson told us the quote was $13k and we had to sign a new contract. We still went forward with it from a convenience standpoint and they immediately came in for demolition. This was our second mistake. At that time they seemed upset that I had ordered some incorrect items, but we received no support on our group chat that they said they would use to support us. All items were confirmed by LFM. That was when I started to state my displeasure with the service and I got a call from Jackson stating that I was asking too many questions and he couldn't make a living on just my job. We were cautious because the whole time they were pressuring us to pay another $5k for the job, which equated to 90% of the total cost. This was the reason why we hired a construction company instead of going directly to independent contractors, because we are not experts in home repair. We then argued with him and Myra, the customer service manager for 2 days and Myra said that we should cancel our contract, which we agreed, yet they still kept calling to try to continue. They said they would assign a new project manager, but before even doing that they kept on pressuring us to pay more money. Not once did the GM or management who were supposedly on the group chat stepped while all this was happening. I refused for them to continue because I don't trust that these people will do a good job after all this arguing nor do I feel safe with them in my house with my family. Please learn from my mistake and do your due diligence and go with a family operated firm that does their own work and actually cares about their customers instead of outsourcing their work out. All this experience did was left me $7k lost, a completed demo-ed master bathroom, and a really pissed off wife. read more

I will explain the 4 star rating. After interviewing 6 companies we decided on LFM to totally remodel our primary bathroom. Arie, the project manager came out on time to meet with my wife and me. He is very knowledgeable and agreed to do everything we asked unlike the other companies. After giving us an onsite bid, we agreed to have them do the remodel. He was accessible through out the remodel. Jose, who built our closet cabinets and re built our closets was very good as well. The vanity and countertop contractors were excellent as well. The final product is 5 star but getting there is why I rating them 4 star. The superintendent who will go nameless was horrible. He and his crew did not respect our house. We had a few minor leaks but dirt and dust throughout the entire house. Tools and equipment were scattered all over. Cutting tile and wood were done outside our front door which ruined the glass panels. We spent a great deal of money having all furniture upholstery,walls, carpet and the rest of the house deep cleaned. I would recommend interviewing the superintendent as well as the project manager. Make sure the house is totally prepped to prevent any damages. The good news is what Arie promised. The bathroom is very nice. LFM repaired all damages to our house and cleaning and stand behind there work. So the end result is we would recommend them. read more

Doing a kitchen remodel can be stressful just because of the chaos that inevitably unfolds as you start to knock down walls and demo everything. But Tommy and LFM were there every step of the way, and I truly appreciate that if I got stressed and overwhelmed they showed true compassion and helped me navigate the process with professionalism. We have used them, working with Tommy both times, to redo our master bath, master closet, guest bath, kitchen and flooring throughout the whole house. It's basically almost a house entirely built by them at this point, lol. We will use them again too! And if that's not saying everything you need to hear, I don't know what to tell you.
