This is absurd! I wrote for a quote on a cabinet repair and was told that they charge $150 an hour with a two hour minimum. What sort of advanced degrees do these "handymen" have? Absolutely ludicrous. I've never heard of such a thing! The business owner has asked me to update my review and I don't know what to say. Their work has not stood the test of time. - Parts of my house they painted they did not sand or strip the coat underneath is it's peeling badly. - Once the job was over they called and pressed me to pay them rudely - They broke two door frames installing new doors and did a terrible job repainting them. - Said they would come back and fix the problem areas and did not. All in all it's not been a good experience. *update* They have reached out and attempted to work with me to fix the issues and have been very accommodating which I appreciate however it's a mute point as I have sold the house. Randy and his team are competent and do good work, but more importantly (to me at least) they're people of integrity. They're on time, they're responsive, and they keep you updated. In the last few months, I was getting ready to move out of my house and rent it. There were several small issues all around that needed repairs or attention and with Randy's wide range of knowledge, he was able to tackle everything effectively. He was also price conscious, and saved me money where he could. Hiring a handyman or any contractor can be dicey and you can get burned, which I've unfortunately now learned from experience - but in this scenario I've hired Randy to make things right and I feel so relieved knowing he's on the job now. What great experience with Randy!!!!! The first time we used Randy was for our business. While he was working, we found out there is a bigger issue than we anticipated. He stayed way longer than scheduled time, and worked tirelessly to fix the problem we had. And didn't make us wait till the next day, so we could open for business as usual. We asked Randy and his colleague Donnie to fix multiple issues we had in our highrise apartment (Rainey Street) These issues are something the building does not allow the maintenance guys to do. Stuff like moving the fan to a different place, hanging up a super heavy chandelier, installing a credenza/wallunit (10 feet long) that had to be attached to extremely hard concrete wall. They needed a hammer drill for the concrete walls. In addition they had to hang up multiple paintings and mirrors. Very tidy, polite and organized - and very nice people. Randy has probably 30+ years experience in construction business so bet anything they could do building stuff, painting, fixing, installing, even minor plumbing stuff.... We have used Randy for two projects in our home. First, we had him do work on five doors inside and outside. He refinished our front door, replaced rotting trim around several doors, shaved one door to make it close and completely rebuilt a door to an outside storage unit. After our first successful project with Randy, we then hired him to finish our basement, including building a half-bath, a wet bar and a storage room; along with putting in a new floor and painting all the walls. He and Zach showed up every single day they said they would at the time they said they would. They discussed every step of the project with us before they proceeded, cleaned up each day before they left, and overall did an extremely professional job.
