He did what he said and was honest when he had to reschedule something. On top of that, he was always friendly and direct. Josh listened carefully to exactly what we needed, talked out any possible issues we'd have, and accounted for all the outlets and such that would have to brought out through the piece. We also had to re-do the crown moulding around the piece, and he noticed the poor installation of the rest of the moulding in the room, so he agreed to re-do the rest of the moulding, too. He's meticulous and thorough. We got to watch the progress as he built the piece, because he posts pictures on his Twitter account, which is great! The installation went smoothly, and the final piece looks great (as you can see in the picture) - it's exactly what we wanted and discussed. The new moulding also looks great! I would absolutely recommend Josh for any carpentry project!

I was very happy that they took ownership of the whole project, and I did not have to hire anyone else. Another thing that I really appreciated was that Chris was easy to work with. He gave me good advice when I asked his opinion. He never insisted on things to be done his way and always did it how I asked him to even when things had to be redone. While I had a basic idea of what I wanted, I debated getting a formal project manager to handle coordination of the full install. With a ton of experience doing this kind of install, Marcus helped out so much that I was pretty much able to handle coordination of the main pieces and personnel without needing to hire anyone else. He did a great job making the vision come alive and was transparent with any problems that arises (and importantly fixing them when necessary). He was friendly, fair with pricing, and also very quick-- framing and installation took only 2 separate, spread out days (to allow for drywalling and parts arrival in between). My personal experience with him in terms of communication was excellent, but I also purposefully avoided peak summer season so as not to catch him at a busy time. I would not hesitate to hire him again.

I based the hiring of him off of Yelp review but unfortunately this has not been a great…read moreexperience. Met with Nate in about a built in desk and a built in entertainment center in December and he told me he was booked 2-3weeks out. I said, sure no problem, we can handle it in January. Come mid January, he tells me he needs more time. I say sure. Come February I reach out and no answer. Called, emailed and texted, still no answer (mind you I had already given 50% down to him). Finally after not hearing from him for almost 3 weeks he responded and saying he was just getting started on building the cabinets. It's now mid-March and he finally got to installing the units. But don't expect him to arrive at the time he says. He was consistently 2-3 hours late to the time he promised to be here (which required us to adjust work schedules). First day he arrived at 2:30pm after saying he would be here at noon and then had to come back on a Sunday because he couldn't finish it all in one day. Now that's just the communications part, as for the quality of the work. I have been very disappointed. I had asked for a 1.5" wood top on my desk. After install I've noticed it's a single 3/4" plywood top with an additional 3/4" plywood strip on the front to make it look like it's 1.5". Not only that but because it's plywood there are obvious seams on the desktop. And the front is covered with a veneer which bubbled in multiple places and even though he came to glue it back down still does not look great. There are seams in multiple places where he could have easily gone with a full piece of dimensional lumber instead. There are screws protruding on the side of the cabinets which are the only sides that face out so would have expected the screws to be hidden. He left part of one of the tops uneven, even though I brought to his attention before the painters came, so he had to come back out and fix it and the painters had to come back out and fix the paint again. Also when he put in the shelves after the paint (because he didn't have the shelf pins and had to order from amazon), he scratched up the paint pretty badly in pretty obvious places. I've worked in construction as my dad was a contractor and I fully understand things happen or sometimes things don't work out as planned but for the price I paid I would have expected much higher quality and less chasing to get this completed.

I had been meaning to do a bunch of repairs on my house (which is just about 13 years old and remediated 6 years ago) and was trying to reach out to different people to do different jobs with varying levels of success. The result was a backlog of things to do and coordinate with different parties. I originally reached out to David for some help with repairing a shower door that had fallen off. He replied quickly and showed up to do his estimate as scheduled. While he was over, he looked at a bunch of the other things that I needed to have done and offered to do them as well. He repaired everything in one day only a few days later. I have to applaud David for his courage to start his own business. But this makes sense for him. He knows he is good at what he does and he is organized. He is highly professional in his correspondence. He will outline precisely what he intends to do. He is timely. He is versatile in the tasks that he can perform. He possesses initiative. And he will follow-up with thorough documentation of what was done and needs to be done. Payment is also easy and he accepts a number of modalities. I have attached some of the pictures he took for the various jobs including: 1. Window blind replacement 2. Water valve and supply line replacement (more details below) 3. Ceiling fan remote control failure diagnosis 4. Watersealing of door threshold (more details below) 5. Tub spout repair 6. Shower door repair and adjustment (I contacted a bunch of people who would not offer to do this) 7. Sliding door repair (which another contractor said they would fix but never did) I want to comment in particular on his ability to diagnose problems. For the longest time, my kitchen faucet had slow flow. Just the kitchen faucet. Over the years, I contacted perhaps 3-4 different plumbing companies. They recommended ridiculous things like increasing the water pressure to the house (which didn't make a lot of sense given that the other faucets were fine and was impossible because the pressure was already maximized) and even replacing the faucet altogether (which would cost $220 for the same model and not resolve the underlying problem). David diagnosed the problem as excess calcium build-up in the valves and he was right! He knew the answer when all the professional "tradesmen" did not. I also have what some people would call a "lemon" for a house. The contractors that built it did bad job. It was remediated but even after this remediation, I had problems. One of them was the balcony door which would leak water when it rained. I contacted the builder and they said that my second warranty had expired and they recommended how to repair it. Suffice to say that they were completely wrong and David uncovered some pretty shoddy workmanship and commented on the unorthodox remediation which would lead to the problem. I should have had David remediate my house. Overall, I am exceedingly happy to have stumbled upon this gentleman and would be pleased to refer him to others. He is basically the "doctor" you want for your house. I hope he stays in business a long time.

Second, he is dishonest about pricing. Third, as the owner, you are responsible for your employees. His worker damaged the paint on my siding using gorilla tape instead of blue painters tape. Not just 1 area, the whole bottom plank adjacent to my porch. We won't even get into the names he called my wife (cuss words) when she called to have the job finished. The job is still not finished. I'm in a service oriented business who recommends good fellow contractors and Todd is not one of them. I have documented the way he spoke to me & my wife & have documented the damage. The job is still not finished & we are to the point we don't even feel safe having Todd back over. Save yourself the trouble & use someone else. Oh & he's been paid in full. We had Ron come out to replace a bathroom exhaust fan and install a ceiling fan. We had hired him before to replace a section of fence and stairs on our deck. He recognized our house when he pulled up. He reviewed the work he had done for us years ago and flipped the boards on the deck stairs because they were starting to bough with time. When he went to replace the bathroom exhaust fan, he noticed it just needed to have an extreme clean done and the motor oiled. He cleaned the fan and heater very well and got it working again. That saved us from buying a new exhaust fan unit. He installed the ceiling fan with no problem. He was very thorough with his work. I am keeping his contact info for any future jobs we have. Ron has worked on many projects for us since we purchased our house 8 years ago. He is a very talented carpenter and his work is always top notch. He notices issues we didn't and fixes them. On top of that we now consider him a friend. The most recent project he worked on for us was our 1940s shed that we had received many quotes on over the years but they were always insanely expensive and unrealistic. I called a minimum of 6 contractors, all of whom said they could not perform the work or no longer had the staff to support it. Ron answered all my phone calls and treated me as a valued customer. He was honest and also talked about his craft with pure admiration, which shows he took a lot of pride in what he was doing. His rates were reasonable and I am happy about the decision to call Ron. The front of the my house has stucco on the second floor. One edge was starting to come loose from the house. 15 - 18 inches in length was starting to bulge out about 1 inch at its max distance from the house. Ron tore down the bad area, examined the area for any sub layer damage, assessed the cause, patched it, textured it, and painted it. He was done in 3 visits and I never had to be home to have it repaired.

We are in the midst of a tenant turnover (not the best time as a landlord), and having the home sit idle for any amount of time seems like an eternity. But that's not how it is with John. Two days after the tenants moved out, John supported us by conducting a walkthrough of the place, highlighting areas that needed some attention, and got to work. He brought his mower and lawn edger to do some landscaping, flushed the water heater, fixed the front door lock (after troubleshooting it live with a support agent), tightened up some loose cabinetry in the kitchen and bedrooms, and even cleared out the garage of dust and loose debris. John is incredibly thoughtful and is a great communicator - thorough and complete. He actually takes care of the home like it is his own, and honestly, that level of detail and support helps me ensure that I can stand behind the value & security of home when it goes back on the market for the next tenants. When they showed up they said, "Nope there's a piece of wood trim in the way, and we can't," and they left. Literally that's all they said... and left. So I begin the process of calling around to plumbers and handy men. John is the only person that could squeeze our small project in, and when I say "squeeze" I mean it. He (like many others) was booked solid, BUT he went SO far out of his way to make it to our house. Even hanging around for a while in our part of town when I missed his call and it took me over an hour to get back to him. I couldn't believe it. He's clearly not short on business, so the fact that he was concerned enough about his costumer to just wait around and see if we would get back to him boggles my mind. He had SURGERY scheduled for the next day, and was so concerned that if he didn't get to our call that night he wouldn't be able to for some time. Again, he's not short on work, he just cared that it would be a nightmare for us to go that long w/o a dishwasher. Now you would think, busy as he is, with surgery the next day, and late in reply to him as we were, that he would rush the job. NOPE. He stayed here for hours making sure he did the job right, and he was a very pleasant "house guest" as well. Funny stories about his work. Tips about other "jobs" around our house that came up in conversation, and actually tips too, not just fishing for more work: "Oh yeah you could do that yourself, you just need XYZ and to watch out for these things." The dishwasher is installed, run beautifully, and the price was absolutely fair and appropriate. I probably would have paid more. Especially considering how long he was here, and that our instillation did have a few unexpected issues. Again you might worry with other companies, that all the polite conversation it racking up the price, but no way, not with John. Read the name of this business and believe it. You will love this handyman service.

He committed to returning yesterday but did not show up nor return calls and messages. This guy, from my experience lacks professionalism and competence.

He was super professional and fixed everything in 2 days, even though there were a lot of unforeseen issues (extra electrical work needed, and the original cabinetry was not level). He even helped remove the old oven and installed the new one to make sure it fit and worked properly, which it did on all accounts! Thanks William! The previous contractor had left it with visible drywall screws wide exposed cuts, etc. It looked terrible. After panicking because our countertops were scheduled for installation and looking through Jasons Yelp photos, we knew we needed to get on Jason's schedule. He books out sometimes 3 weeks, and this was last minute. We ended up delaying our countertop installation by 3 weeks in order to have him do the work. Waiting for Jason to do the work was 100% worth having a plywood island top for those 3 weeks. He showed up on time and got right to work. His cuts are precise, and the extension he built looks like it's always been there. We ended up hiring him to extend our kitchen cabinetry to the ceiling and add crown molding to it, as well as add trim pieces to our cabinets' blank sides before we had them painted. We also hired him to modify and install a wood hood over our stove top. Everything came out perfectly. We are more than impressed with his work and wouldn't hesitate to hire him again. This guy is a professional and the best kind. There was not one bad surprise with him. He even gave me some tips, as I was filling the cabinet handle holes prior to getting them painted.
