Beautiful tall bookcase!
Rachael B.

Josh is truly a professional. As others have stated, he clearly likes what he does and he takes pride in his work. We hired him to build a tall book case with drawers and cabinets and a ladder (I will put up a picture). Not only it is beautiful, the whole experience was pleasant. Josh is very reliable (he is there when he says he is going to be and will communicate if otherwise) and I really appreciated how easy it was to communicate with him about the work. We got to see our shelves being built online via Twitpic. He was helpful about ideas for the design (we weren't sure what we wanted). The price was fair for the quality of work and he was accurate as to how much materials would cost us. Josh also set us up with someone else to stain and finish the bookcase (when that is done, I'll post a picture of that, too). When we decided to hire him, there was a bit of a wait (I think it was a couple of months). I assume this is because his work speaks for itself and he has a lot of satisfied customers. When it came time for our work to be done, it was just when he said it would be. We're new to the area, so we don't get a lot of word of mouth recommendations about things we need done around the house. Thankfully, we found Josh on Yelp and we're so happy we did! When we need more carpentry work, we know who to call!

Our beautiful built in bookshelf/desktop/drawers for our study.
Daniel S.

Josh is very good at what he does. We hired him to build a large built in bookshelf with drawers and a desktop. We were a little nervous about putting down a deposit months in advance (he was booked so far in advance!), but the end result was fantastic. He was always forthright in communication and reliable. He did what he said and was honest when he had to reschedule something. On top of that, he was always friendly and direct. Josh listened carefully to exactly what we needed, talked out any possible issues we'd have, and accounted for all the outlets and such that would have to brought out through the piece. We also had to re-do the crown moulding around the piece, and he noticed the poor installation of the rest of the moulding in the room, so he agreed to re-do the rest of the moulding, too. He's meticulous and thorough. We got to watch the progress as he built the piece, because he posts pictures on his Twitter account, which is great! The installation went smoothly, and the final piece looks great (as you can see in the picture) - it's exactly what we wanted and discussed. The new moulding also looks great! I would absolutely recommend Josh for any carpentry project!

Josh was so great to work with and created the most beautiful library shelves for our new entertainment room, just like we had envisioned! He was clear and helpful up front, and kept in touch and on schedule for when he planned installation. Everything turned out great and we've already gotten so many compliments!

10 ft x 16 ft built-in bookshelf unit built and installed by Triple Crown Carpentry. The smoked glass is a nice touch... Josh's suggestion.

Triple Crown Carpentry (Josh) just completed work on a floor-to-ceiling, built-in bookshelf (10 ft x 16 ft) feature in my home. After seeing his work on his website (Photos page with embedded Instagram account), I knew Josh was the man for the job. Take a look at that Instagram account... full of pics of his work, all of which is impressive. My initial contact with him was submitting a quote request on his site, which Josh responded to promptly. After a quick back-and-forth via email, he came out to our house to have a look at the space and make a quick sketch of what I had in mind. He had told me that it'd be about 4 months before he could start on it, which was fine with us because we didn't want to entrust the project to anyone else. He got in touch with us as the project start date approached and came back out to the house to refresh his memory about the space and the details of the job. He then proceeded to build the feature in his workshop while providing us with a couple updates via email (with pictures) and posts to the Instagram account, which was appreciated and got us even more excited for the installation. One thing to note is that our project was built with red oak, and Josh saw an opportunity to enhance the piece by offering us a different species of wood (name escapes me now) for the small countertop to make it more aesthetically appealing. He looks out for you. After all the pieces were complete, he came out to the house for the install with an assistant, and they installed it in about six or seven hours. And the finished product rates above expectations. He really did a fantastic job, and we could not possibly be happier with it. I was really impressed by his ability to listen to me and my vision for the piece, draw a rough sketch, and create exactly (or even better than) what I had in mind. The guy is a pro, so go with Triple Crown Carpentry. You won't be disappointed.

The finished unit. Thanks, Josh!

Met with Nate in about a built in desk and a built in entertainment center in December and he told me he was booked 2-3weeks out. I said, sure no problem, we can handle it in January. Come mid January, he tells me he needs more time. I say sure. Come February I reach out and no answer. Called, emailed and texted, still no answer (mind you I had already given 50% down to him). Finally after not hearing from him for almost 3 weeks he responded and saying he was just getting started on building the cabinets. It's now mid-March and he finally got to installing the units. But don't expect him to arrive at the time he says. He was consistently 2-3 hours late to the time he promised to be here (which required us to adjust work schedules). First day he arrived at 2:30pm after saying he would be here at noon and then had to come back on a Sunday because he couldn't finish it all in one day. Now that's just the communications part, as for the quality of the work. I have been very disappointed. I had asked for a 1.5" wood top on my desk. After install I've noticed it's a single 3/4" plywood top with an additional 3/4" plywood strip on the front to make it look like it's 1.5". Not only that but because it's plywood there are obvious seams on the desktop. And the front is covered with a veneer which bubbled in multiple places and even though he came to glue it back down still does not look great. There are seams in multiple places where he could have easily gone with a full piece of dimensional lumber instead. There are screws protruding on the side of the cabinets which are the only sides that face out so would have expected the screws to be hidden. He left part of one of the tops uneven, even though I brought to his attention before the painters came, so he had to come back out and fix it and the painters had to come back out and fix the paint again. Also when he put in the shelves after the paint (because he didn't have the shelf pins and had to order from amazon), he scratched up the paint pretty badly in pretty obvious places. I've worked in construction as my dad was a contractor and I fully understand things happen or sometimes things don't work out as planned but for the price I paid I would have expected much higher quality and less chasing to get this completed.

The…read morecrew was professional, the work was completed as expected, and up until the very end the experience felt positive. Unfortunately, the post-project payment process left a very bad impression. After the job was completed, I was told that final payment was required within 24 hours because of a clause on the completion form I signed at the end of the project. This requirement was never clearly communicated beforehand when we agreed to move forward with the work. In my experience, most contractors invoice with reasonable payment terms (for example a few days or a week), so being told after the work was finished that payment had to be made within 24 hours felt unexpected and unnecessarily confrontational. What was disappointing wasn't the payment itself -- I fully intended to pay -- but the tone and approach in the follow-up messages. It made the interaction feel more focused on collecting money immediately than maintaining a positive customer relationship. Again, the workmanship was good, but the way the payment issue was handled unfortunately overshadowed an otherwise solid experience.

We wanted to update our kitchen to be more modern and decided to 1) replace new countertops, 2) paint cabinets white, 3) install new backsplash and 4) paint interior. I didn't want to spent a lot of money and get brand new cabinets since mine are fairly new. Austin Painting and Cabinet specializes in painting your existing cabinets to look new. They did a really good job and far exceeded my expectation. The areas they excelled included * Price - The price was very reasonable for the quality of work you're getting. I compared countertop pricing with JL Cabinets. JL initial quote was 2K cheaper but that's just an estimated price before you select your countertop. After we decided on the countertop, JL ended up being 2K more expensive. Tylers price was similar even after selecting countertop, meaning Tyler initial estimate is based on higher quality countertop whereas JL low ball. * Quality - My cabinets had knotty holes to make it looks rustic. Tylers team had to fill all the holes and sand to smooth all the cabinet prior to painting. I was scared that painting would look cheap. However, these guys specialize in cabinet painting. Their work is high quality. The end result was much better than expected. The cabinet finish was as smooth as butter. There are definitely cheaper options out there but you pay for what you get. Anyone can paint, but what Austin Painting and Cabinet excel in is spending lots of time prepping to ensure the paint looks high end. In addition to cabinet work, we had the living area painted. They covered and taped up every inch of the house to ensure paint didn't spread anywhere. The attention to detail is unmatched which shows in their final work product. * Communication - Tyler responded to all text and kept me up to date on the project. He was on time, every time, as well as his crew. I'm very happy with result and recommend Austin Cabinet and Painting to anyone who wants to update their Kitchen.

U granites & Cabinets More's product and service are so much beyond my expectations. Originally we had the plan to update the kitchen during the pandemic, Amy came to my house to have everything measured, use 3D software generate the 3D model, made sure everything aligned what we wanted. We didn't pull the trigger due to many factors. The year after, we called Amy again. She came to the house, did the measurement, did the 3D model. We backed out again. This year, we called Amy again. She didn't say anything. Came over again, did the 3D model. We paid the deposit. Finally we started the project. During this process, Amy shows her patience, professionalism and attention to the details. Once the demolition and installation started, everything was organized in such a nice, efficient, and less disturbing way. The demolition was done in a day, and every trash was picked. Amy's husband, Victor, came to the house, with his experience and knowledge, discussed every details I need to think through - We removed two parts of the kitchen area so it brought some variations. He provided the options, respected my choice, and of course, with his knowledge about house remodeling trend, to make sure I have well-educated information. With his experience and knowledge, it increase my kitchen countertop's functionality and usage area. I can't thank him enough for that. U Granites & Cabinets are high quality. If you are not familiar with that market, you will get lost - just like me walking into Home Depot to look at those prebuilt countertop and vanity. I like the cabinet's materials, how it built (those features I probably didn't really think about before). I started with the kitchen cabinets and countertops, extended to the bathroom's vanities . I am very happy about the decision, and much more appreciative what Amy, Victor and other staffs at U Granites & Cabinets More has provided. Victor did a huge favor to me by doing all kind of other jobs along the kitchen remodeling. I tell you, that's another level experience and knowledge from him about house remodeling and how to have those done correctly, effectively and cost-efficiently. Cost wise, I gave you my example. I hired a general contractor who quoted me $14K for all demolition (kitchen and tiles) only. My total cost with U granite (Kitchen countertop, cabinets and demolition) is less than that number. If you come across this shop and this review, I highly recommended at least give Amy a call or stop by at their shop to check out their offering. I would be happier that you do choose them as remodeling partners because I know you are making the correct decision.

I'll list my experience below: -padded extra $400 onto quote for sink cut out and new sink which was not discussed during quote process. Luckily I saw that and purchased my own sink (also, they could've used the original sink too, so why add $200 without consulting with the client?) -added extra $40 onto granite removal charge. Quoted me $5/sq ft for removal. -cracked my backsplash and only offered $50 refund, and claimed "they're not responsible for damage" ...what?! -counter top came with scratches and scuff marks which they claim wasn't from them. It was installed in a new home where no one was living, and I saw it the day it was installed. Was definitely them -caused a leak when they removed sink, did not alert me to the severity of leak nor make any attempt to resolve it, which resulted in water piling up in my cabinet for a full day and ruined the bottom cabinets. -did not caulk countertop, so unnecessary open spaces between wall and countertop -damaged brand new cabinetry, also denied that. Sent pictures for undeniable evidence. This company is sloppy and they do not take responsibility for their shoddy work. I cannot recommend this company to anyone considering countertop replacement.
