Josh is the absolute BEST, hands down! His work is top of the line and he has excellent customer service. We found his pricing to be extremely fair, especially for the quality provided. We can't wait to get this thing painted and stained! We will use Josh for all future carpentry work in our home. His installation timeline was spot on and he was extremely tidy while installing, too, which is not always the case when people work in your home! Thanks so much, Josh!

    Beautiful tall bookcase!

Josh is truly a professional. As others have stated, he clearly likes what he does and he takes pride in his work. We hired him to build a tall book case with drawers and cabinets and a ladder (I will put up a picture). Not only it is beautiful, the whole experience was pleasant. Josh is very reliable (he is there when he says he is going to be and will communicate if otherwise) and I really appreciated how easy it was to communicate with him about the work. We got to see our shelves being built online via Twitpic. He was helpful about ideas for the design (we weren't sure what we wanted). The price was fair for the quality of work and he was accurate as to how much materials would cost us. Josh also set us up with someone else to stain and finish the bookcase (when that is done, I'll post a picture of that, too). When we decided to hire him, there was a bit of a wait (I think it was a couple of months). I assume this is because his work speaks for itself and he has a lot of satisfied customers. When it came time for our work to be done, it was just when he said it would be. We're new to the area, so we don't get a lot of word of mouth recommendations about things we need done around the house. Thankfully, we found Josh on Yelp and we're so happy we did! When we need more carpentry work, we know who to call!

Josh was so great to work with and created the most beautiful library shelves for our new entertainment room, just like we had envisioned! He was clear and helpful up front, and kept in touch and on schedule for when he planned installation. Everything turned out great and we've already gotten so many compliments!

10 ft x 16 ft built-in bookshelf unit built and installed by Triple Crown Carpentry. The smoked glass is a nice touch... Josh's suggestion.

Triple Crown Carpentry (Josh) just completed work on a floor-to-ceiling, built-in bookshelf (10 ft x 16 ft) feature in my home. After seeing his work on his website (Photos page with embedded Instagram account), I knew Josh was the man for the job. Take a look at that Instagram account... full of pics of his work, all of which is impressive. My initial contact with him was submitting a quote request on his site, which Josh responded to promptly. After a quick back-and-forth via email, he came out to our house to have a look at the space and make a quick sketch of what I had in mind. He had told me that it'd be about 4 months before he could start on it, which was fine with us because we didn't want to entrust the project to anyone else. He got in touch with us as the project start date approached and came back out to the house to refresh his memory about the space and the details of the job. He then proceeded to build the feature in his workshop while providing us with a couple updates via email (with pictures) and posts to the Instagram account, which was appreciated and got us even more excited for the installation. One thing to note is that our project was built with red oak, and Josh saw an opportunity to enhance the piece by offering us a different species of wood (name escapes me now) for the small countertop to make it more aesthetically appealing. He looks out for you. After all the pieces were complete, he came out to the house for the install with an assistant, and they installed it in about six or seven hours. And the finished product rates above expectations. He really did a fantastic job, and we could not possibly be happier with it. I was really impressed by his ability to listen to me and my vision for the piece, draw a rough sketch, and create exactly (or even better than) what I had in mind. The guy is a pro, so go with Triple Crown Carpentry. You won't be disappointed.

    The finished unit. Thanks, Josh!

They built and installed all new cabinets, replaced lights fixtures, added new recessed lights, painted walls, ceiling, doors, added lights under the cabinets. Basically they did everything that I asked them to do. Also they agreed to put back my old granite countertop that helped me to save some money. I was very happy that they took ownership of the whole project, and I did not have to hire anyone else. Another thing that I really appreciated was that Chris was easy to work with. He gave me good advice when I asked his opinion. He never insisted on things to be done his way and always did it how I asked him to even when things had to be redone. Met with Nate in about a built in desk and a built in entertainment center in December and he told me he was booked 2-3weeks out. I said, sure no problem, we can handle it in January. Come mid January, he tells me he needs more time. I say sure. Come February I reach out and no answer. Called, emailed and texted, still no answer (mind you I had already given 50% down to him). Finally after not hearing from him for almost 3 weeks he responded and saying he was just getting started on building the cabinets. It's now mid-March and he finally got to installing the units. But don't expect him to arrive at the time he says. He was consistently 2-3 hours late to the time he promised to be here (which required us to adjust work schedules). First day he arrived at 2:30pm after saying he would be here at noon and then had to come back on a Sunday because he couldn't finish it all in one day. Now that's just the communications part, as for the quality of the work. I have been very disappointed. I had asked for a 1.5" wood top on my desk. After install I've noticed it's a single 3/4" plywood top with an additional 3/4" plywood strip on the front to make it look like it's 1.5". Not only that but because it's plywood there are obvious seams on the desktop. And the front is covered with a veneer which bubbled in multiple places and even though he came to glue it back down still does not look great. There are seams in multiple places where he could have easily gone with a full piece of dimensional lumber instead. There are screws protruding on the side of the cabinets which are the only sides that face out so would have expected the screws to be hidden. He left part of one of the tops uneven, even though I brought to his attention before the painters came, so he had to come back out and fix it and the painters had to come back out and fix the paint again. Also when he put in the shelves after the paint (because he didn't have the shelf pins and had to order from amazon), he scratched up the paint pretty badly in pretty obvious places. I've worked in construction as my dad was a contractor and I fully understand things happen or sometimes things don't work out as planned but for the price I paid I would have expected much higher quality and less chasing to get this completed.

I had been meaning to do a bunch of repairs on my house (which is just about 13 years old and remediated 6 years ago) and was trying to reach out to different people to do different jobs with varying levels of success. The result was a backlog of things to do and coordinate with different parties. I originally reached out to David for some help with repairing a shower door that had fallen off. He replied quickly and showed up to do his estimate as scheduled. While he was over, he looked at a bunch of the other things that I needed to have done and offered to do them as well. He repaired everything in one day only a few days later. I have to applaud David for his courage to start his own business. But this makes sense for him. He knows he is good at what he does and he is organized. He is highly professional in his correspondence. He will outline precisely what he intends to do. He is timely. He is versatile in the tasks that he can perform. He possesses initiative. And he will follow-up with thorough documentation of what was done and needs to be done. Payment is also easy and he accepts a number of modalities. I have attached some of the pictures he took for the various jobs including: 1. Window blind replacement 2. Water valve and supply line replacement (more details below) 3. Ceiling fan remote control failure diagnosis 4. Watersealing of door threshold (more details below) 5. Tub spout repair 6. Shower door repair and adjustment (I contacted a bunch of people who would not offer to do this) 7. Sliding door repair (which another contractor said they would fix but never did) I want to comment in particular on his ability to diagnose problems. For the longest time, my kitchen faucet had slow flow. Just the kitchen faucet. Over the years, I contacted perhaps 3-4 different plumbing companies. They recommended ridiculous things like increasing the water pressure to the house (which didn't make a lot of sense given that the other faucets were fine and was impossible because the pressure was already maximized) and even replacing the faucet altogether (which would cost $220 for the same model and not resolve the underlying problem). David diagnosed the problem as excess calcium build-up in the valves and he was right! He knew the answer when all the professional "tradesmen" did not. I also have what some people would call a "lemon" for a house. The contractors that built it did bad job. It was remediated but even after this remediation, I had problems. One of them was the balcony door which would leak water when it rained. I contacted the builder and they said that my second warranty had expired and they recommended how to repair it. Suffice to say that they were completely wrong and David uncovered some pretty shoddy workmanship and commented on the unorthodox remediation which would lead to the problem. I should have had David remediate my house. Overall, I am exceedingly happy to have stumbled upon this gentleman and would be pleased to refer him to others. He is basically the "doctor" you want for your house. I hope he stays in business a long time.
