Walk in shower and strawberry red door
    Gabriel L.

Often, in the world of remodeling, finding a contractor that you would use again seems as difficult as finding true love, but in the case of Fit Build, not only would we use them again, they were recommended by some friends who plan to use them for more work. In the past I've had contractors that I'm just ready to write a final check to, say "get out of my life, it's not you, it's me," and never see again. Make a break-up mixtape (Fleetwood Mac-"Little Lies"). Get over it. Not the case here. Jared and the crew at Fit managed to get our 1967 home's still mostly 1967 bathroom updated with a fantastic new walk-in shower converted from the cast iron tub, and everything else, in 3.5 weeks. The shower rework involved a premium tiling job and fixture placement that makes it our favorite thing about the bathroom. Even so, the rest of the tile floor, repair and replacement of sheetrock, trim outs, and other detail work were well executed and done to my specifications. The work looks even better than the scale drawing I created to plan out the changes. I also think this is the first time a contractor has used the brand of paint (Benjamin Moore) I wanted upon request, rather than having me go to buy it-a small but important detail when you have a particular color palette in mind and are picky about such things. Jared does a great job of juggling the details and scheduling, and he's also great with communication when you reach out to him. I would recommend early communication about what fixtures, tiles, products, etc. you need to obtain so the work can run smoothly. While we didn't use them, they do have an in-house design team that can help with the process, but I came in with a fairly detailed vision. Everyone was great about coming up with solutions for anything that came up between plans and installation, which is how the shower came out even better with a great niche and a nice curb to wall feature that allowed more of my favorite tile (the smaller mosaic) to be showcased. They do a great job integrating Schluter trim/edging across the board for a uniform look and superior water resistance, and nobody griped about the epoxy grout that I wanted and provided. It is more expensive and can be a pain to install and clean up, but even there things went well and the white epoxy grout will be much easier to keep clean and will control moisture superbly. We had a new puppy in the mix, and our cat, but all the workers were careful about keeping doors shut and cleaning up at the end of the day. The puppy was unhappy that he couldn't "help" and the cat was grumpy about anyone else in his house, so he stayed under the couch, but they made it through well, and I appreciate the contractors' awareness. I found the pricing to be competitive, and Jared worked with us on changes as needed, reworking figures depending on how some discoveries went. Even so, the final amount wound up on target. I'll call on them again for projects in the future, and, as finding remodelers goes, I would say there's no greater recommendation than wanting to stay in the relationship. Cue "Seven Wonders" on the mixtape.

I am so grateful that we went with Fit Build Construction. We got four quotes and Fit Build Construction easily came in at the best price. One of our quotes was 12k more than Fit Build and the materials were cheaper and worse quality. Jared knew we were on a budget and tight timeline and was able to work with us, and find solutions to help us get a high quality master bathroom without compromising on materials or style. This is the second project in my home they have handled and of course it went perfectly as expected. The previous owners tiled the shower themselves, and didn't water proof anything. It was leaking into our slab and the tile was cracking, and mold was starting to form behind the shower walls. Honestly, the timing of the project couldn't have come at a worst time, but we had to get it done and on a budget. They completed the project in perfect timing, stayed on schedule, and within my price range! I highly recommend them for any home renovation you need to get done. You can see my before and after photos. The brown tile and dark green cabinet, and the stunning after is the white subway tile, beautiful cabinets, and all new wall paint/hardware. I am in love with the results!

Jared and his team were incredible. Jared keeps to the schedule and holds his subs accountable. I highly recommend Fit Build Construction for your project!

Koren was super pleasant to work with all around. Fast, clear communication before the initial meeting. A lot of a great ideas during the initial meeting, for how to keep our project within budget, and where it was worth splurging or dialing back. We had requested a bid on two main projects (Kitchen and Primary Bathroom) and help deciding the scope for the remainder of our projects (Flooring, Guest Bath, Office, Patio, Etc.). We were shocked by how much of the "bonus" projects we could fit in, and yet felt very confident with Koren's insights that these were realistically within our budget. The formal quote came in REALLY fast after our meeting, and was very easy to follow and extremely fairly priced. Was very impressed with how quickly they were ready to begin the work, and the forethought of asking us if we planned to "live-in" during the remodel vs. get an AirBNB or the like. We hadn't even thought of that. Would have been very confident in moving forward with ATX Remodeling. Especially as Koren had so many examples of the type of elaborate communication and oversight we would have at every stage of the process.

The bathtub in our rental property was in desperate need of repair after our tenant moved out (see…read morethe before pictures I've posted). I didn't have the budget to do a complete renovation so I got onto Yelp to find a reasonably priced company that would do a decent job resurfacing. Out of all the companies I contacted, Jose was the first person to respond to my request for a quote (he reached out to me in an hour or so). I read a review on here that says he does the classic "under promise and over deliver." I completely agree. He gave me a quote, but warned me it could be higher if they found some issues when they dug into the work. Thankfully we had none of those issues! We nailed down the scheduling over text, which for me is the most convenient way to schedule these kinds of things. He was very communicative when he needed to change the schedule by a day. Also, he was incredibly polite, professional, and attentive in all my interactions with him. They did the job in about 4 hours and I was blown away by how nice it looks. Not only did he fix the cracks and holes in the tub, but he also removed an outdated metal bar (for handing washcloths) and completely restored the tile around the top of the tub. The whole bathtub started as a dingy yellowed thing, and now gleams in a beautiful white color. Again, see the after pictures I posted. After they finished, Jose verbally went over how to care for the tub with me, and then he emailed me written instructions as well. In addition to that, Jose also gave me suggestions for replacing the hardware in the shower (you'll notice in the pictures there's no shower head or water handles...those are coming soon:). I highly recommend Jose and All Surface Renew. When it comes time to resurface the tub in my other property, I'll be contacting Jose again!

I absolutely could not be happier with All Surface and the job they did on a nasty rusted tub that…read moreI thought would require a costly replacement of probably $2K or more including labor. But I shot over a picture to All Surface, they said they could handle it, they refinished it, and it literally looks like it rolled straight out of the factory (and for roughly 1/4th the price of a replacement). The work is perfect, communications great, the price for the amount of work is very fair, and we are thrilled with the end result. These guys get 5 out of 5 with no need to round up ... I'd give 'em a 6 out of 5 if I could :-)
