I hired Marcus to frame, sheet rock, and install a French door w/transom and sidelites in a 90s era home. I consider myself a DIYer, but in this case, I wanted something done professionally to make sure everything was nice and neat. While I had a basic idea of what I wanted, I debated getting a formal project manager to handle coordination of the full install. With a ton of experience doing this kind of install, Marcus helped out so much that I was pretty much able to handle coordination of the main pieces and personnel without needing to hire anyone else. He did a great job making the vision come alive and was transparent with any problems that arises (and importantly fixing them when necessary). He was friendly, fair with pricing, and also very quick-- framing and installation took only 2 separate, spread out days (to allow for drywalling and parts arrival in between). My personal experience with him in terms of communication was excellent, but I also purposefully avoided peak summer season so as not to catch him at a busy time. I would not hesitate to hire him again. read more

Excellent service. Marcus was efficient, prompt, communicated well, and kept the repair simple, rather than make false claims that a whole new door was needed. I highly recommend Austin Doors and Trim for all your repair and replacement needs. read more

Austin Doors & Trim - Front door trim needed to seal and balance the frame. - Carpenters Near Me - Austin, Texas

Had Marcus out to put up crown molding in two rooms with tricky angles. He was on time and completed the job in one day. We ran out of boards that I had previously purchased and he went out to pick up what else was needed. The job was done very well. It looks great. read more

Marcus was courteous and exceptionally knowledgeable about doors! I needed a minor repair on my front door, but also had some questions for him. He fixed the door promptly and answered all of my questions with ease. Definite recommendation for anyone needing door repair or install! read more

Came out to take a look at the door and provided a quote but that ended up being the only positive aspect of the business transaction. What followed was essentially severe miscommunication and misunderstanding. Even after sending an email confirming a service date Marcus missed the date and responded with a message essentially saying he thought he was waiting on me. He then continued responding to emails without fully reading my message or even his own message and constantly kept writing confusing messages with nonsensical dates. Thankfully found someone else that was a lot more professional and buttoned up with their communication and got the job done for cheaper. read more

Replaced weather seals and installed self closing hinges. Doors work so much better now. Great person to work with that will advise you well. Thanks Marcus! read more

Marcus installed a new front door for us and we could not have had a better experience. His craftsmanship and precision are stellar, and he is very professional. We will definitely be using Marcus again for our future door needs. read more

Highly recommend Marcus! I was referred to him by the company that installed my front door. It was clear on our initial call that he was knowledgeable, personable, and capable. We talked through a few options I was considering and landed on a plan. We scheduled a time and he arrived exactly on time, finished faster than he had quoted, and saved me some money by not doing something we'd talked about that he figured out wasn't necessary. Highly recommend! read more

Marcus is such a friendly guy and is very knowledgeable about his work. He has wonderful communication with all of his clients and I would highly recommend him to any of my friends/family. read more

Marcus and Corey are superb craftsmen and incredibly professional! Carpentry is the name of the game here, and high level carpenters are a rare breed that end up having their own DIY or HGTV shows once people catch wind. That's the quality you should expect with Marcus and Corey as your hired guns. Tip well folks, their prices are so accommodating that their skills deserve more! They're not painters however, so they'll build you whatever you want but you have to finish the staining/painting yourself or have someone do that for you. Their work is so good you won't care about the painting and just do it yourself over a weekend. read more

This "company" is a joke. Marcus shows up for consultation, seems friendly, & we talk about what is needed for my 3 doors: front, garage, & back door. Ok, cool. He shows up for the work day with a kid who couldn't have been more than a teenager & I'm thinking "Oh, maybe this kid is apprenticing." No, Marcus leaves & the kid is left to do all of the work. Ok, fine. I'm not age-ist; I am assuming he knows what he's doing! 1. My front door was sawed too small to where there has been a significant gap & wind blows through ever since (ruined my door!) 2. The kid left to take a break for a while, comes back, has super red eyes, & is acting "out of it" & confused when I asked him a few questions. We live in Austin; you can put it together. Let's just say: Not professional. (But he is unmonitored by his boss, so...) 3. My back door was sawed also too small, allowing air to come through ever since (and ruining that door!) 4. He "forgot" to put weather stripping on the front and back doors, which was one of the main reasons I hired a door & trim "company. read more

Marcus and Corey did a great job fixing six doors in our house that weren't shutting properly. From rubbing and creaking to simply not opening without feeling like you were going to rip the entire door off its frame, they were able to fix them all in about an hour. Most impressive was that they were on time, called or texted when they were on the way, professional, picked up after themselves, friendly, and knew what they were doing. I would definitely hire them again and would recommend them to anyone needing door or trim repair. read more

Came out again today to give our pesky backdoor another tune up. Once again, AWESOME service!!!!!!!! Finished under their estimated completion time, door opens and closes like new, I am beyond happy! Don't go with anyone else for your door needs! read more

this review is many months late, but the experience was so good with Marcus that I didn't want to forget to let everyone know. I hired Marcus to install a new pet door that I bought. He had excellent communication before the job, was super nice, showed up on time, and (my wife says) that he was so pleasant to deal with once he arrived at the house. I have some other door issues, and I won't hesitate to contact Marcus. read more

Marcus and his team are phenomenal, professional craftsmen. From the initial quote to scheduling, installation, and all questions along the way, Marcus was patient, friendly, and very informed. He did not shy away from complexity and the finish work is very high quality. In total we had three new doors installed, two of which we changed to out swing doors to better handle weather - a clever suggestion. Should you have any door concerns, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Marcus. He's my go to for all things door. read more

Great work! Timely and professional team! Fair pricing! I spent a lot of time trying to find anyone to repair the glass portion of our Security/storm door, and another business recommend Marcus Heyns. I explained what I needed and he was knowledgeable, courteous and patriotic, as well, as he gave our family a military discount. When his door-expert, Cody, came to do the work in JAN, he was friendly, professional and replaced the entire door in a few hours. He, also, advised me to keep an eye on the frame of the door, and recommended some low-cost, DIY maintenance to prevent further ware in that area. I really appreciated his advice and instruction. If I ever need door-related help, I will definitely call Marcus and his company! Thanks Marcus and Cody! read more

Marcus and his team were great to work with. His quote was reasonable. They showed up when they said they would, worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up after themselves. They were all friendly to boot! read more

Austin Doors & Trim exceeded my expectations! We moved to a new house and our dogs were going nuts without their dog door. Marcus came by for a free consultation and was friendly, helpful, and obviously super knowledgeable. He went out of his way to communicate with the company I ordered a door from to make sure it was cut to the specs necessary for my installation. On the install date, Corey and Marcus showed up to do final measurements (with new door in hand) and Corey completed the installation of the dog door into the door and the door into the frame. These guys are professional, timely, and knowledgeable. I can't say enough good things about Marcus, Corey, and Austin Doors and Trim. Thanks guys!! read more

Austin Doors and Trim is excellent. They came out measured, gave us a great quote and assisted in procuring the doors we needed. Once the doors arrived and were delivered to my home, Austin Doors and Trim promptly installed the doors. The quality of the craftsmanship is unsurpassed and the attention to detail was really impressive. I am having Austin Doors and Trim install some interior doors in the near future. What sets Austin Doors and Trim apart from other contractors is when they say they are going to do something they do it. That is huge. read more

We had foundation work done last year, and almost every door in the house was off in some way. Marcus was quick to respond and schedule an appointment. When he wasn't going to be able to come himself, he called in advance to make sure that I was comfortable with working with Corey. Corey came in, quickly assessed how long it would take to complete the work. We had a couple of door knobs that were also broken, and he did what he could to fix these as well. They were both honest, courteous, responsive, and had good/timely communication. Best of all, all of our doors in the house now close! read more

Very professional. These guys perform their work in a way that all contractors should strive to replicate.

We hired Austin Doors & Trim to replace 15 interior hinged doors + 4 sliding closet doors in our house this week. The doors we had previously were 18 years old, ugly, and many showed extreme signs of wear and tear from the previous owner. The existing hinge placements and "straightness" of the door frames in our home are each slightly different from the next so buying pre-hung doors was not an option. Marcus and Corey expertly trimmed the door slabs as needed, mortised the hinge slots, and drilled and installed the doorknobs/latches. We also had them mortise a third (middle) hinge slot into each door frame as they previously only had two hinges. Our new doors look great! The guys were very polite, professional, and personable. They happily answered all of our questions and I enjoyed speaking with them throughout the process. Marcus' estimates for cost and time to completion were spot-on. They really did an excellent job on the doors, we're so pleased with the result! I'll definitely be using them for any door work in the future. read more

I can't recommend Marcus enough. Incredibly response, professional and great quality work. He helped me through the whole process as my doors weren't the typical standard. It's hard to find people these days that provide this level of service and quality. read more

My door was crooked from foundation shifting so much the locks stopped working. I wanted someone with professional knowledge on how to fix doors. I've had bad luck hiring a general handyman to fix doors. 1. Marcus quickly responded and scheduled. 2. Marcus and Corey came out to fix my door (on time) and gave a quick assessment of the issues. 3. Quickly finished a not so easy job. Well, they said it was easy, but they are the pros. 4. Very reasonably priced. They were both so personable and professional. They really know their stuff. I would recommend this company to anyone with door issues. read more

We just had our front door replaced due to water damage/ rotting wood on our original Door. We experienced excellent service from Marcus and Spencer from Austin Doors and Trim. They were both on time, professional, very thorough and explained their plans in detail. Spencer, who did the install, checked in throughout the installation to make sure I was happy. The pricing was also very fair. I would highly recommend Austin Doors and Trim as they are honest and really know what they are doing! read more

We had the pleasure of meeting Marcus and Cody. Wow! What a great job Cody did for us. Cody went beyond the second mile to complete a professional job on our front door and we liked it so much that Cody came back and repaired our back storm door and interior door. Cody takes great pride in his work and is such a nice person. Thank you! read more

I have an ~75 year old house with a problematic antique doorknob and I did not want to replace the entire door, I just wanted to remove all the old funky hardware and install a modern big box company handle. I also had some screen doors that needed replacement or to be installed for the first time. Working with Marcus was refreshing. He was on time for each appointment, gave a free estimate, provided advice on problems that were not associated with the job, picked up and removed the new/old doors, and completed the job ahead of schedule. He even adjusted a problematic door in the house for free that was not part of any of the original job description. If you have old doors that others say replace, you need Marcus. read more

I wish I could give the owner 10 stars. I'm surprised he isn't on yelp already. Excellent customer service, clean and knowledgeable about all things doors. He installed a new back door for me with a doggie door, cost 1/3 of what Lowe's or Home Depot were charging. read more

Was not happy. Not to go into long explanation. Bottom line. Back door shaved too much whereby big gap at top of door, weather stripping not done well whereby water coming in and ruining wood floor. read more

Marcus and Spencer were great to work with. They installed crown molding throughout our entire house (we have some very tricky angles in parts). They also replaced the thresholds of three exterior doors and adjusted some of our exterior doors as well. They were always professional, reliable and did what they said they would. They care about their work and gave attention to detail. I would hire them again in a heartbeat and definitely recommend them for any work you might need. read more

These guys are the Best. Marcus is busy and it is not easy to get on the schedule in Lakeway. Reconstructing door trim, thresholds, and door jams is a art and requires precision and skill. He knows what he is doing and does it right. They did an amazing job and we are very satisfied. Thanks Marcus. read more
