It is difficult to capture in a brief review just how amazing my experience with Komal has been. I live in an old house in Central Austin and wanted to redo my master bathroom. I could easily pick materials I like, but bringing it all together was something I knew I needed help with. I had not worked with a designer before and after getting recommendations from friends and talking with several designers over about a one year period, I just had not been able to find someone that I was comfortable with. Then one day, while browsing online, I came across Komal Sheth of Spaces Designed Interiors. I was immediately drawn to her "use of color" and to the fact that it appeared she had done projects of all types, at many "different budget levels and in many different styles". That told me she was probably a "very good listener" in that she had been able to take her varied clients' visions and make them come to life in their space. That could not be more correct. From the initial consultation to the last brush of paint on the walls, Komal took my fragmented ideas and added to them with her suggestions of materials and fixtures in such a way that my new master bathroom is now modern yet timeless. Her computer renderings of materials such as tile, fixtures, patterns and colors in my space allowed me to be able to visualize exactly what the finished project would look like. As a result, I was able to see my space through her eyes. This gave me the confidence to make selections that are unique and interesting, creating a truly one-of -a- kind space. In addition, Komal did not abandon me after the design phase. After recommending a contractor who would fit my budget, she was there throughout construction. Her "positive attitude" and philosophy that there is "always a solution to every problem" (particularly in an old house where nothing is square and nothing is as expected), gave me peace of mind throughout the project. I cannot say enough good things about Komal Sheth and her design team and look forward to next time I get to work with them. read more

We purchased a property in Steiner Ranch in 2002. We wanted to build our house so that we could move from So. California and retire in Austin. My husband worked overseas and, with the help of an Architect Designer in Austin, designed the floor plans for the house mostly via email. As we lived overseas for over 20 years, we had been buying furniture, antiques, and art objects from all over the world mostly from Asia and some from Europe. We needed an Interior Designer firm that could take the plans right from the architecture of the space along with all minor details of all interior spaces and make it into a high-end eclectic and modern home. We wanted them to include a lot of our purchases and treasures. We surfed the internet and all we could find were very traditional Interior Designer firms and the ones we talked to did not have the portfolio of what we wanted. I stumbled on Spaces Designed by chance and that was our lucky day. Not only did Komal Sheth, Owner of Spaces Designed, charged ahead she acted as project manager while my husband was away, and knew exactly how to balance the old with the new. They selected all the new material ad finishes of the space and it was very exiting to see it all come together. Lighting and wall finishes were a big part of the WOW factor. She was always very professional and budget conscious. She came up with great ideas as the house was being built. We started the build mid 2012. The house is now completed and a beautiful showpiece. Everyone that comes and visits is full of compliment and all comment on the how refreshing it is to see something that is not the same traditional look of most houses in the area. If you are thinking of decorating your new home or remodeling your current one, Komal Sheth should be your decorator of choice. I recently hired Komal for a two- hour, flat fee consultation so I could begin the process of decorating our new- to- us, 9 year-old downtown condo. She left me with a wealth of information, contact numbers and a zest to begin my project. She chose paint colors, taking into account the flooring, light and my contemporary taste. Komal recommended floor tiles from the assortment of samples I had borrowed from stores and gave me advice on buying and placement of furniture. She aslo offered two solutions for a contemporary stairs banister, drew design pictures on her pad, and helped me visualize what the banister would look like by showing me online photographs. An awkward bathroom door in the guest bedroom did not stump her; she offered a smart, cost-effective solution that will be aesthetically pleasing and more functional. I am so glad I called Komal! She is timely, professional, and has a really great eye for color and design. In addition, she is attentive, budget -conscience and has a wonderful, warm personality. We have been working with Spaces Designed for about two and a half years on our remodel and addition; they designed all our interior spaces. Komal is a pleasure to work with. She is a talented, extremely knowledgeable designer. She has a keen eye and outstanding design sense. She is very good at identifying what a room needs to feel "right" (well-composed, balanced, interesting, etc.), to be functional, and to be "current." We can't express how wonderful our Master Bathroom turned out! We had several re-modelling projects to our house over the past 10 years and we had been holding off on our Master Bath since we felt it needed a major renovation. After several years of thought we turned to Spaces Designed. Komal (the owner) took an interest in our project and listened to our requirements and desires and was able to render a design that met them and suggested features that we hadn't even thought of. I purchased my childhood home and for years struggled to make it my own. Komal and her crew at Spaces Designed helped me to redesign my kitchen and living area from the beams up. The main issues were space efficiency and it needed a new look. My home is less than 900 square feet and was out of date. Komal was able to create a new beautifully designed kitchen/living area with all the bells and whistles I needed to make it MY home. We had seen a lot of kitchen remodels on the TV and on the Internet and saw a similarity in designs over and over and we wanted something current but not the same as we had always seen. Komal listened to our wishes and sized up our kitchen and made a truly original design. Komal spent lots of time searching for the right materials and colors and was very hands on. Komal was an advocate for quality workmanship from potential contractors and found us an extraordinary cabinet maker who was also a perfectionist. I wish you could see where the basement started! It had been left to suffer with Tangerine orange walls and unwanted furniture. I had struggled for years to see a new vision for this awkward space.
