Design is expensive and Laura was very concerned about staying within my very limited budget. I contributed a lot to the design of my space because of my budget. By doing that we were able to create a synergy together that made the end result even better than if either one of us had done it alone. We constantly built on each others ideas. My place looks spectacular. It is very nontraditional and everybody that comes loves it for it's uniqueness. We both contributed to that. I could have never done it without her. I know how flexible Laura can be in her design work in that my place is so completely "out of the box". For that reason, I recommend her to all my friends. It doesn't matter what they have in mind, she will have an idea about how to achieve it. Maybe some people completely turn over their design to a designer but I think it is important to constantly contribute so that in the end there is no issues that would cause it to be less than fabulous.

The home looks better than I could have ever imagined and was completed on time and within budget. I highly recommend Jessica and her team! Choosing a designer was my first step. And I honestly didn't know what a designer was yet but I knew I was going to need help. I interviewed a few others first but felt I was being buttered up to a sale rather than given real answers and advise. Jessica arrived at my home on time. She was straight forward with me from the get-go and was very pleasant to communicate with. She was extremely professional and explained which of my ideas would and wouldn't be cohesive to my goals, style and budget. She gave suggestions that I could have never come up with on my own. And she was honest about what unforeseen problems and expenses could arise while working with certain materials, electrical capacity and construction. Having this information up front from her built a trust that is priceless. Jessica is an engineer and an artist! In my opinion, her ability to balance the practical with the aesthetic sets her above all other designers. It takes a very unique mind to handle both concepts well. Not to mention management, delegation and holding each contractor and retailer responsible. All done with easy and grace making your project seem like a piece of cake! And to top it all off, I would have spent so much more on this remodel if I hadn't had Jessica to oversee the ordering, installation and maintenance. We are not finished yet (I will update this review when done with pics) but wanted to write about my experience thus far. So far I have had excellent service and expertise. Jessica has worn many hats for me, acting as an architect, a designer and manager. I came to her with an end vision and no idea how to get there. I just knew how I wanted the space to "feel." She's executed everything from the floor plans, to electrical, to the chairs and pillows better than I could of ever done on my own. She's also been a huge help in helping me understand city codes (uugghhhh) and is helping me stay ahead of them. Her attention to detail far surpasses my expectations. Their response time is fast, this matters when dealing with commercial build out I am learning, and their attentiveness has made me feel like I am their only client. Homes in our price range and area west of Austin are on the market an average of 180 days. We wanted something with "class" and noted that Valerie's homes were not stock set ups but a bit more in tune with the home's area and price and, most especially, in tune with the house being sold. She knows how to highlight the good and make the best of what we thought of as awkward or worrisome. She sees the house as a buyer would. After living there 20 years I could not see what a buyer would see. For years I'd played with different layouts in my LR. I'd consulted two designers in my 20 yrs there and recently had one stager in for consult. Valerie came in with what seemed like a hodge podge of furniture and "fixins" and 24 hours later had done what no one before had accomplished. We saw all that stuff and just stood back and trusted them to do their magic. They waved their magic wand and set up that troublesome space so taht it seemed like a cozy conversation area in a big space and made sure that the great views were not harmed. She knew what aspects could sell the house and designed for them. The house flowed and felt comfortable and each area had its own identity. I wanted to move back in ! I had initially thought more areas needed to be staged but she said we could do less than I thought and that saved me some money. Some places would have seemed awkward to a buyer but she made them special areas to be appreciated. Buyers could envision what the possibilities were because of her and her assistant Mary's talent. Valerie's crew was efficient and respectful of the property which was key since I'd just done repairs after the movers took out my furniture. I hate to say it but I was a bit worried about getting someone too creative because I worried that they'd be more into the art than into the business side and selling your home is stressful business. She was clear with me regarding project timeline, and the binder she provided with renderings (exactly like the final look, btw) was a huge help. She operates like a GC, managing budget, subs and scheduling, and nothing was missed. The quality of the floors, furnishings, walls is insane. Her company has grown quickly, so she can't always take on new clients, but she is 100 percent worth the wait. All the visuals and management she provided made everything feel simple on my end. I could never have done any of it on my own. The time, money and stress it has saved me is immeasurable and I'm forever grateful. And the design is phenomenal! Stunning.
