Once my wife and I purchased a new home in NW Austin we knew we were going to need help. We wanted our new home to reflect our style. The problem is that sometimes you have good taste but struggle to put it all together. I called Jill and she sent us Kelli Presses, a member of the Nine Design team. She is fantastic! Kelli arrived at our new home, took a tour, and immediately started listening to our thoughts regarding our aesthetic. The first thing Kelli did was help us rearrange our furniture in our living room. We spend most of our time in this room and she nailed it. Over the course of a few weeks Kelli helped us transform our entire house. From room layout to paint color to window treatments to accessorizing. My favorite thing about Kelli, besides her gift of design, was that she understood our budget and never pushed us to spend money unnecessarily. As a matter of fact, there were a few times she offered "do it yourself" ways of saving money for the same result/impact. We're now in the final stages and our house looks amazing. We love to entertain and our friends and neighbors are blown away by the transformation. We give Kelli and Nine Design all the credit. Call Nine Design if you have any design needs. We needed help with our entire house. You may only need help with one room. Or maybe you need a color consultation for painting. They do it all.

I thought that my needs were pretty specific...help with some interior remodeling and new furniture. First the Remodel - Karen's relationships with contractors and vendors is amazing. I loved every single person she put me in contact with. She was quick to tell me where it might be to my financial advantage to work directly with a vendor, and where i might make best use of her involvement. Now for the Interior Design - Holy Cow. Her process is unique, and my needs fell smack in the middle of the COVID situation. I had to put my full faith and trust in her process, which was a bit scary... but I will tell you that hands-down, it was the best, most stress free and effective interior design process i've ever had (and i've done a few houses prior to this one). I absolutely love the results of her efforts...the furniture, the design plan, the decor, everything! And even more than that, i loved the way she took the time to understand me and how she worked with me. Her team is amazing. I couldn't be more pleased. So, my advise is to trust her process...she has a great eye, she is truly able to understand her clients taste and desires, and she knows the products. Not one thing she suggested was wrong. I am a happy happy client.

Komal was able to capture the exact essence of what we wanted. The result is comfortable spaces that are modern and stylish. During the process, Komal's keen design expertise and her intuitive eye delivered impressive results. Her guidance was invaluable in helping us make easy decisions for the flooring, tile backsplash, wall colors, rugs, and furniture. Her extensive history and relationship with vendors was also crucial in this process. At Komal's recommendation, we hired a wonderful contractor whose team was a pleasure to have in our home during the renovation process. The end result is absolutely amazing. We look forward to relaxing and spending time in our beautiful and unique home. Our guests are always complimentary, impressed with the design. Thanks again to Komal for giving us a beautifully designed home.

I had a light remodel done by Komal and her team back in 2017. The project was a little bumpy (the…read morebacksplash Komal chose was very tricky to install and her tile guy didn't really know how to do it). Anyway, it's now 5 years on and I needed to add some window blinds and wanted to match the products Komal selected. I emailed her multiple times and received no responses, I tried the manufacturer but unfortunately it's one of those "call your dealer," type places. The stickers that might have had the info we're all sunbleached and unreadable. I finally gave up and ordered something that doesn't match. Not how I imagined this would work when I hired an expensive designer. Also, we just discovered Komal's contractors who installed our sink/kitchen faucet didn't cut out sufficient space for the faucet collet. So now the whole thing has come loose and is falling over, I paid Stand Brothers to find out that they can't fix it until I hire someone to cut into the drywall and open up the correct space. Frustrating. I didn't think I was paying for cheap work but here we are.

It's been long over-due to write this review of our kitchen/living room remodel. However, with…read morealmost 2 years out, I think we have a good perspective now. April is probably great if you have no idea what you want for your remodel and want her to just design and do it all. However, we knew exactly what we wanted, how we wanted things designed and the specifications we wanted. April did not pay close attentions to all the details we provided her. Cabinets etc were undersized. We had to go back and forth many times. Very cheap materials and labor are used (only single coats of paint and now we have had to repaint most surfaces already with just simple user wear/tear). Cheap material was used in the pantry that we had to have her pull out right after assembly. She spend nearly all of her design hours researching a job that she really could not do. In the end, we are not very happy with most of the work quality or the experience. Next time we need to do a remodel of anything else in our house (which we are starting to plan now for our master bathroom), we will certainly go elsewhere.

The judge even agreed that she did not provide services requested or promised by her in the contract we both signed. She even stated in the hearing that she never provided her clients with a budget even though we had been promised one and they are a basic component of a project plan. She also would not provide a timeline. To create a design we did not ask for that was missing key elements of a project plan, she sent us bills close to $5,000. Then harassed and sued us when we refused the pay with the promised project plan that we had all agreed upon. she just wanted us to email her so she could bill us 1/4 of $150 (her hourly) rate to send a reply that just said to pay her for her already billed hours that she could not justify.

She managed everything from design to construction to decor and SO much more! It was important to me to have a stress-free experience and to be able to keep my normal day-to-day work routine while these projects were being executed. The result was fantastic! The home looks better than I could have ever imagined and was completed on time and within budget. I highly recommend Jessica and her team! Choosing a designer was my first step. And I honestly didn't know what a designer was yet but I knew I was going to need help. I interviewed a few others first but felt I was being buttered up to a sale rather than given real answers and advise. Jessica arrived at my home on time. She was straight forward with me from the get-go and was very pleasant to communicate with. She was extremely professional and explained which of my ideas would and wouldn't be cohesive to my goals, style and budget. She gave suggestions that I could have never come up with on my own. And she was honest about what unforeseen problems and expenses could arise while working with certain materials, electrical capacity and construction. Having this information up front from her built a trust that is priceless. Jessica is an engineer and an artist! In my opinion, her ability to balance the practical with the aesthetic sets her above all other designers. It takes a very unique mind to handle both concepts well. Not to mention management, delegation and holding each contractor and retailer responsible. All done with easy and grace making your project seem like a piece of cake! And to top it all off, I would have spent so much more on this remodel if I hadn't had Jessica to oversee the ordering, installation and maintenance. Hiring Jessica not only saved me money and time, it was also a very exciting and fun experience for me. I literally can't wait to hire her again!
