Design is expensive and Laura was very concerned about staying within my very limited budget. I contributed a lot to the design of my space because of my budget. By doing that we were able to create a synergy together that made the end result even better than if either one of us had done it alone. We constantly built on each others ideas. My place looks spectacular. It is very nontraditional and everybody that comes loves it for it's uniqueness. We both contributed to that. I could have never done it without her. I know how flexible Laura can be in her design work in that my place is so completely "out of the box". For that reason, I recommend her to all my friends. It doesn't matter what they have in mind, she will have an idea about how to achieve it. Maybe some people completely turn over their design to a designer but I think it is important to constantly contribute so that in the end there is no issues that would cause it to be less than fabulous.

We were looking into a bathroom remodel and got 3 different quotes. We had the best rapport with Kristi but her quote came in higher than the others (not by a huge amount but significant enough for us to debate). In the end, since we'd had previous projects where we went with cost savings and then weren't 100% satisfied after, we picked Fix It Chick. Definitely the right decision! The extra cost she estimated at the beginning just proved her in depth knowledge of the whole project and the excellence they'd be providing throughout. All of her contractors were great and the quality of their work was amazing. We thought we had a good eye for detail but still missed little things she spotted during her various walk throughs to have her team fix. I also really appreciated her initial consultations. We didn't have a very specific design vision and she really helped bring our general idea to life, choosing a handful of options for us to pick from in regards to tile, furniture, lighting, etc. She even solved a big-to-me problem in our bathroom of wanting to have our laundry hidden. She found shelving that had pull out hampers that were seamlessly integrated and the perfect size. We will definitely be going back to Kristi first for any future remodeling projects!

I had a light remodel done by Komal and her team back in 2017. The project was a little bumpy (the…read morebacksplash Komal chose was very tricky to install and her tile guy didn't really know how to do it). Anyway, it's now 5 years on and I needed to add some window blinds and wanted to match the products Komal selected. I emailed her multiple times and received no responses, I tried the manufacturer but unfortunately it's one of those "call your dealer," type places. The stickers that might have had the info we're all sunbleached and unreadable. I finally gave up and ordered something that doesn't match. Not how I imagined this would work when I hired an expensive designer. Also, we just discovered Komal's contractors who installed our sink/kitchen faucet didn't cut out sufficient space for the faucet collet. So now the whole thing has come loose and is falling over, I paid Stand Brothers to find out that they can't fix it until I hire someone to cut into the drywall and open up the correct space. Frustrating. I didn't think I was paying for cheap work but here we are.

The other two didn't hear anything I said and we ended up having to repaint a room because the suggestion was so bad. Elizabeth is an excellent listener. That seems to be the quality most important to me. First, she responded to my request for information within an hour. She came this morning for an hour and comped the first 30 min. as an introductory consult. I received a suggest plan and invoice within 30 minutes of her departure. Being this organized gave me the sense that any work she did for us would be similarly organized, no chaos. She went by CRG countertops which was on the other end of town for her and got a sample of the quartz we were considering and got a large sample we could use to solve my dilemma: use backsplash or not? She saw how the rest of the house was eclectic and quickly narrowed down how to make the new counters and cabinets fit stylistically with the rest of the area. She's direct and efficient and fast. She didn't throw a lot of suggestions at me that just confuse me with too many options. Kept it simple. Affirmed that my favorite ones indeed were well coordinated, discouraged a few, told me which were too had to keep clean and gave me some things to consider that I would have not known to think about otherwise. She is professional and easy to talk to. She won't recommend a painter until they have painted a room in her house so she can see their work. I found her help to be exactly what I was looking for. It was important to me to have a stress-free experience and to be able to keep my normal day-to-day work routine while these projects were being executed. The result was fantastic! The home looks better than I could have ever imagined and was completed on time and within budget. I highly recommend Jessica and her team! Choosing a designer was my first step. And I honestly didn't know what a designer was yet but I knew I was going to need help. I interviewed a few others first but felt I was being buttered up to a sale rather than given real answers and advise. Jessica arrived at my home on time. She was straight forward with me from the get-go and was very pleasant to communicate with. She was extremely professional and explained which of my ideas would and wouldn't be cohesive to my goals, style and budget. She gave suggestions that I could have never come up with on my own. And she was honest about what unforeseen problems and expenses could arise while working with certain materials, electrical capacity and construction. I am working with Jessica and Mary Cat on what I think is an interesting project. I am turning an…read moreold farm house into a Wellness Center. We are not finished yet (I will update this review when done with pics) but wanted to write about my experience thus far. So far I have had excellent service and expertise. Jessica has worn many hats for me, acting as an architect, a designer and manager. I came to her with an end vision and no idea how to get there. I just knew how I wanted the space to "feel." She's executed everything from the floor plans, to electrical, to the chairs and pillows better than I could of ever done on my own. She's also been a huge help in helping me understand city codes (uugghhhh) and is helping me stay ahead of them. Her attention to detail far surpasses my expectations. Their response time is fast, this matters when dealing with commercial build out I am learning, and their attentiveness has made me feel like I am their only client. She has made me a priority on more than one occasion to help our builder move forward faster All while being very conscious of keeping me in budget.
