We mainly requested a bid on two projects (Kitchen and Primary Bathroom) and help deciding the scope for the remainder of our projects (Flooring, Guest Bath, Office, Patio, Etc.). We were very impressed with how realistic, but also open-minded he was with what portion of our "bonus" projects we could fit in. The formal quote came in fast after our initial meeting, was easy to follow, and fairly priced. Found the proposed timeline to be very well balanced for efficiency vs realism. Appreciated the suggestions provided for if we should/could "live-in" during the remodel vs. a timeline that would allow the bulk of the work to overlap with a time that we were going to be out of town already. Also insights on what it would be worth "buying in advance" to take advantage of sales, even if the actual work was delayed. We got a few quotes and would have felt confident moving forward with any of them when the time came, but the quality of their portfolio and Avi's attentive listening definitely put Teamwork Home Designs at the top of the list. We had our entire downstairs remodeled in 2024 - kitchen, master bath, living, etc. We choose…read moreTeamwork Home Designs based on a neighbor's initial recommendation...only to find out later that some of their plumbing work needed to be entirely redone and that they'd had to request a new plumber for their project. In any event, I hesitated to write a review because Shaked was nice to work with and incredibly responsive, but we are still having issues with the work that was done. The most annoying of which is the constant smell from the kitchen sink island. Our kitchen was gutted and everything installed was brand new. A week or so after install, I noticed a moldy, wet, dank smell coming from the sink, dishwasher and surrounding island cabinets (where a large group of pipes feeds into the foundation). Shaked and the plumber remarked that the disposal probably needed to be cleaned. The disposal and everything associated with the kitchen were brand new - they did not need to be cleaned - but we cleaned them anyways. I let this go because my husband didn't really smell anything and I wanted to be optimistic. Well, it's two years later and now EVERYONE in the house can smell this musty dank smell!! We have troubleshooted the dishwasher, the disposal, the p-traps, etc. and are having another plumber investigate. We will likely have to redo part of the island to discover the cause of the smell and it's incredibly frustrating that we can't host because our kitchen smells gross! There were additional issues. A couple months after we started using our newly remodeled kitchen, we heard a loud bang and noticed that the disposal completely detached from the sink! I contacted Shaked and he said something along the lines of - this is normal. Ummmm, No! I've never in my entire life had a disposal fall out from under a sink. He begrudgingly sent the plumber to reset it. It started to come loose again not long after their plumber reinstalled it. Ultimately, my husband DIY'd the install after watching a Youtube video. It's been fine since my husband installed it. Lets see, there was a leak around the base of a newly installed toilet. The toilet needed to be reinstalled. The floating master bath tub was caulked with the wrong product so it looked gross a month or so after install - and continues to look gross because we can't get the substance off. The heated floor wiring was cut during install of the bathroom floors, despite it having an alarm system to alert to said issue. After a lot of back and forth and troubleshooting (on my end), Shaked's team ultimately agreed to remove most of the flooring to reinstall with new wiring. The flooring on the stairs looks sketch to put it nicely. The wall paneling at the base of the kitchen island is wavy and disjointed - looks like a DIY project. The trim on the French doors leading to the master bedroom keeps falling off. Etc. etc. etc. Things they did well - tiling! The tile work from these folks looks amazing! Communication - Shaked was extremely responsive and did his best to address issues as they arose. They were helpful - a pipe burst during the freeze while the house was being remodeled and Shaked sent his plumber to repair quickly and without charge! They happily made changes and didn't really every charge extra which was refreshing. Despite being smelly, the kitchen LOOKS amazing! Overall, enjoyed working with Shaked and his team but not pleased with some of the results. ETA - For what it's worth, my husband thinks they deserve a 4 star review.

JL assured me that their experienced installers could remove my granite without any damage to my backsplash. But not only that, their price was the best of all four well known Austin companies. In fact, since I was getting Taj Reale from Stratus I saw that several companies marked up the price for the same slab that they all were getting from the same slab yard. In short, JL Cabinets did a fantastic job. The price was great and the demo and installation were top notch. I highly recommend Keyla and all the crew at JL. I just came up to my 11 month ownership "walk through" and brought up that my huge Silestone covered island had some issues with the finish. It looked like something was left on it after installation and during the final stages of construction that left streaks all over it. I could not get the streaks off with anything. They sent out a warranty repair worker with Summit to take care of the problem and he did an outstanding job. This fellow went above and beyond - giving me great tips about what to use to take care of the Silestone in the future (diluted Dawn and, for tough stains, Mr. Clean Magic Erasers - who knew?). The streaks, fortunately, were not etching, but some sort of plastic residue. He used a razor blade to clean them all off then washed and cleaned the surface repeatedly until he was satisfied and then buffed it to a shining finish. He clearly took great pride in his work. Definitely a 5 star job.

Here is the whole story for those interested: We are in the process of bringing our whole house into the 21st century and we decided to start with the hardest, but probably most exciting - our kitchen. It took several months for us to come up with the design and pick the cabinets. We knew we would most likely pick IKEA cabinets as they are about the only place in town that offers great modern-looking cabinets. We looked at Lowes, Home Depot and Cabinets to Go, just to check them off the list and decided to go with IKEA in the end, just as we thought we would. Another reason we went with IKEA was because they offer an online kitchen planning tool where you can do your layout and see how everything fits and IKEA will even verify your plan and create a shopping list for you so you order everything that's needed. We also liked IKEA's price transparency - you make your plan, you pick your cabinets and the program calculates the total price of your kitchen for you. We even thought we would get the countertop there and have everything installed by IKEA, to make the process super easy and simple. So once we designed the kitchen, picked our cabinets and were ready to move forward with installation, it turned out not everything was that simple. IKEA told us that we would not be able to get what we wanted because they hardly do any customizations - they don't cut cabinets, they don't cut doors, they wouldn't put a panel we wanted on one of the kitchen walls and they wouldn't even adjust an insert for a 12" cabinet to have one shelf instead of two! And every time we talked to an IKEA rep they told us a different thing! We were getting frustrated and after several weeks of trying to make adjustments and make compromises, we decided that we need to go with plan B - find someone else to install our kitchen. While starting looking for someone else, I remembered that one of my friends, who had her kitchen done recently, highly recommended Aplus. I found the phone number and called. I left a message and Alex promptly returned my call. He came over that same week to look at the space and I immediately had a good feeling about him. I emailed him the kitchen plan and he provided a quote a few days later. The quote was comparable to IKEA price-wise, but we were getting everything we wanted and more, so I told Alex that we, of course, are going to pick APlus! Installation was very smooth and I felt like it was more of a collaboration than a hired contractor doing an installation. I told Alex that there were some things I was not sure about and wanted to see how each version would look before deciding on the final one and Alex was more than happy to accommodate and he provided lots of invaluable advice, too. He also provided extra services per our request. We wanted to install laminate on all three walls in the kitchen to serve as backsplash and when I told him that I had trouble finding someone to do it, he agreed to install it and it looks perfect! He also installed the exhaust hood - and it's perfect, of course. I tell you - we would hire Alex to do EVERYTHING he would agree to do with the rest of the remodel - that's how much we trust him and appreciate the quality of his work. I know I am going to sound very sentimental when I say this, but I truly feel that he is a rare gem that we were lucky to find. The love and care he puts into his work is absolutely priceless!

It turned out beautiful, but we were asked to transfer to NY soon after that project competed. Lucky new owners! As we turned our focus from our home to our new, small NY apartment, we reached out to Robin for help once more. We sent her the apartment layout, pictures of a few art pieces we intended to take, and some ideas on furniture styles we like. She and her team did a wonderful job identifying pieces that not only fit the available spaces, took advantage of the surrounding views, and maintained a certain continuity and flow throughout the apartment but, more importantly, met our functional needs as well. The process of identifying pieces, confirming and adjusting them to our feedback, and eventually final selection, was handled seamlessly as we were at the same time working through the logistics of our move, including working with us remotely most of that time. She completed the design, did the ordering, and most importantly arranged delivery and set up in our new apartment ... from 1,700 miles away! Delivery and set up all occurred in one day so had a negligible impact on our work. It was all turn-key -- from laying down rugs, hanging pictures, uncrating and assembling furniture, all the way to cleaning up and hauling away the packaging materials. OH!, and did I mention the pillows? Turns out, you can never have enough pillows. Ask her, she'll tell you. We now have pillows on our couch and bed that, well, just make it feel like home.

The process of getting there was painful in terms of communication and steering, but at least the shiny new bathroom they initially delivered was not bad. However, in September 2025 the shower tiles started popping out of the floor. I texted them and they had to come in and replace it. Okay maybe it was a one-off. But then less than a year later, by April 2026 the *replaced* tiles started popping out again. I tried dealing with it myself with tile glue, but other tiles kept popping out. I texted them again in August, and this time they said that they stand behind their work for only one year from the original project date, and I need to pay $1200 if I want them to fix it. Notice that it hasn't been 1 year even from the replacement date. It's really not worth it. Go with the slightly more expensive contractor they will do the job right once and for all.

Matterhorn came recommended from my wife's boss, and that put them over the edge as far as hiring them. They demoed our old kitchen, removed soffits and outfitted the kitchen for new cabinets. They demoed our old tile floor and installed the new vinyl plank flooring. Then after our cabinets and counters were installed, they assisted us with our appliance outfitting. As with any home renovation project, there are snags and problems along the way, and they worked through them with ease. I've heard so many horror stories of people having nightmare experiences with contractors during home renovation projects, but I can safely say you won't with Matterhorn. Do your research and read the reviews - and hire Matterhorn for your next project. We will be having them back to do our bathrooms here in the next year or so.

Because of the scope of the project we had a few hiccups along the way but our project manager, Sahar, was always ready to work with us to make things right. We enjoyed working with them so much we went ahead and had them redo our siding on the entire house as well and were pleased with the outcome.
