Summit was cheap and did a really good job, even cutting around a weird curve in the wall so that the granite sat flush with it. Everyone I worked with there was really nice. Tara, Sonia, Richard and the two guys who actually installed the granite (didn't get their names). The installers were friendly, FAST, efficient and nice. They did tear a little paint off the wall but pointed it out to me and well, I was willing to forgive. I would use Summit again. read more

Summit Stoneworks is the countertop/tile and stone subcontractor for my new home builder up in Georgetown. I just came up to my 11 month ownership "walk through" and brought up that my huge Silestone covered island had some issues with the finish. It looked like something was left on it after installation and during the final stages of construction that left streaks all over it. I could not get the streaks off with anything. They sent out a warranty repair worker with Summit to take care of the problem and he did an outstanding job. This fellow went above and beyond - giving me great tips about what to use to take care of the Silestone in the future (diluted Dawn and, for tough stains, Mr. Clean Magic Erasers - who knew?). The streaks, fortunately, were not etching, but some sort of plastic residue. He used a razor blade to clean them all off then washed and cleaned the surface repeatedly until he was satisfied and then buffed it to a shining finish. He clearly took great pride in his work. Definitely a 5 star job. read more

After the initial consultation, the measurements were scheduled, and soon after the installation crew arrived. The process was very smooth and efficient from our sales rep Andrew, to the project manager Richard, and then Arturo on the installation. When we decided to do a partial kitchen remodel, we got Summit Stoneworks to do out granite countertops. They came recommended from someone who does a lot of home flips and liked them. Now, for the real review... Materials: Beautiful granite! They had a wonderful selection of materials at their yard and my wife and I found just what we wanted at just the right price. Countertops and bar: Great job, straight and tight cuts, perfect bullnose edges... they truly enhanced our kitchen. Now the problems set in... They knew this was a PARTIAL remodel and they needed to work with our existing backsplash. Their concern was that the new counters would be too high... they were too LOW! Now we have a gap all the way around the kitchen. Simple and accurate measurements during in the beginning would have prevented this. They measured width and length... but kinda forgot height... assumption will kill you every time! My wife voiced concern about this during the install, but the crew they sent spoke NO English and that just made things worse. They did offer to come out and install a small backsplash lip that would fit the countertops and not make the existing tile look strange. Perfect! This crew did speak English and seemed to do a nice job. Upon futher inspection they made very sloppy cuts around the sockets and did NOT joint 2 of the pieces into a corner... like we wouldn't notice that? It left a 1/2 in gap between the "fix" and the existing backsplash... and it kinda looked like crap. So, THIS is the fix?? All I saw was quick and sloppy work to further try and hide a mistake they made. That gets the guys back out... very nice and appologetic about last time, but it's a pain. They get it done, it looks much better, they leave. I start putting all the electrical plugs and plates back on and guess what I discovered... the holes were WAY off on 2 outlets. Seriously? When the owner suggested they do this as a fix he said they do this type of thing all the time... doesn't seem like it. So, guess what... they're going to have to come out AGAIN and fix this AGAIN and that means more time out of my day AGAIN! I REALLY wanted to give these guys a great review, but I just can't. Maybe they're better with new construction, but as far as a remodel I just don't see it. The stone is beautiful, but the craftmaship has been way less than stellar. : / read more

I loved working with Tara Perez at Summit Stoneworks. She was knowledgeable, patient and professional from beginning to end. She is very experienced and answered calls and emails promptly and courteously. The granite and other stone options there are great and the fact that the large stone yard is on site saved a lot of time. Tara also helped me select a backsplash stone tile that looks beautiful in my kitchen. There was a glitch with installation not being complete and some information related to this remodel not being communicated by my project manager in a timely fashion. He needed to return a couple of times to fix minor problems, but was very friendly and helpful. Cornelio helped resolve a minor problem and is a master installer. He was able to create a seam that is almost invisible and absolutely smooth to touch. The referral to Apollo to install the tile backsplash was a true gift. He showed creativity, mastery of his craft and great attention to detail. I heartily recommend working with Tara and Summit Stoneworks. read more

I'm back to update my review. My counters and backsplash are in and they are truly gorgeous. They were made and installed with great care. The veining matches up in a really beautiful way, and showcases the lovely stone, and the finished project is spectacular, it totally met my hopes and expectations. We've received lots of compliments on our marble. It's truly a showpiece in our home. If my whole experience with Summit was as smooth as the install finally was, this would be a 5-star review, but given how rocky things started out I feel like 4 stars more accurately reflects my experience. I'll also say that after I left such a poor initial review, Summit reached out to make things right and make sure that the rest of my experience was a positive one. I know that no business is perfect, and I think how a business handles an unhappy customer says a lot. I truly appreciated their concern and their desire to make things right. read more

Summit Stoneworks was incredible to work with. They guided us through the process from picking the stone, edge, sink, etc... all the way through the final installation. Once our old counters ( 20+ years old) were removed an elevation discrepancy between all the counters was discovered. Summit's installers brilliantly figured out a solution and had our new granite countertops installed that day. WORD OF WARNING: This is about the "remnant" division of this company. If the remnant has not been marked down in their computer, they will not change the piece in their computer to remnant price (quoted as $5 per sq. ft. all over the website). They will still charge full price. The piece of travertine in question was 80" x 40" (definitely a remnant). Brandon, who was helping us did not bother to point out the higher price and sold it at regular price (we obviously cancelled the order). I should also add this was a Saturday. They are open by appt only on Saturdays but Brandon did graciously let us come look through their remnants while he was handling another appt. Brandon was clearly in a big hurry to get out of there when his scheduled appt ended. Maybe that's why he didn't bother to spend the time mentioning the price difference. I'm sure the "remnant" part of the business is just spare change to this company, but we are also in the market for full slabs of granite. We'll be shopping somewhere else. read more

As a designer, Summit Stoneworks is my "go to" for countertop fabrication. These are good people - from the owner, Brandon to the sales staff (Kyle Poss). They diligently use their own 7 step process which results in a beautiful product with no room for surprises. After measuring, you receive the template indicating hole placement for faucets, edge treatment, etc. so you know exactly what you're getting and be able to make changes if need be. They source locally which means business stays in Austin - not to mention that you can get any surface out there - from granite to marble to man-made Quartz. I'd highly recommend them to any of my clients. read more

Overall we were pleased with Summit. They have a good system that takes you through the selection process, pricing, measurement and install. The finished products in our home were of excellent quality. My only complaint was communication- toward the end of the project it took multiple emails and phone calls to get status updates and they missed our install date (just straight up no-showed us) with no explanation. As much as I hated to do it, it took a very heated phone conversation to get our job on track and the install date nailed down. I understand they are busy but when you're spending that kind of money being left in the dark is unacceptable. Were I to do it over again I would probably use Summit but I would have escalated my concerns sooner. Instead, a day here and a day there added about 2 weeks to our project, and time is money. read more

My experience working with Summit Stoneworks has been pleasant. They are competitive on price, while still providing friendly customer service. My contact, Kyle, is responsive, and diligent in following up to get my questions answered. We picked the same granite for the kitchen and the two bathrooms. I wasn't sure if one slab would be large enough. But it is a common color. They have a large yard with a bundle of that color (and many other colors) in stock. Scheduling is also a breeze. Summit is only doing the granite install in this project. I had other crews lined up to tear out existing countertops, and hook up plumbing, etc. after the granite install. Summit was able to do the install on the specific day I requested, with very short notice. Work quality is good. Love the look of the final product! read more
