We hired Joy and her crew at Reflections Remodeling to completely gut and remodel two bathrooms. We received several quotes but went with Joy because I felt very comfortable with her and she was easy to work with. She has lived in or around my neighborhood for decades and I liked that her shop was just up the street. Her crew was very respectful, professional, always on time and willing to answer any (and all!) questions. It was a long project and there were usually two people in our house for 6 weeks. Like I said - it was a full gut to the studs and then built back out. The project was completed on time and the changes to quote/contract were only due to requests and changes we made. There were never any surprises. They laid down floor coverings every morning to protect the hallway, front entry and bedroom and then cleaned up every day when they left. They did our master bathroom first. They ripped out a 40+year old tub/shower combo insert, toilet, vanity, mirror, popcorn ceiling, etc. They built a custom shower floor, moved the drain and installed new plumbing. They tiled the floor, the walk-in shower and a full wall of tile behind the toilet and vanity. The end result was beautiful and the work was fantastic. There will always be questions and some touch up on a project this size but they were always quick to fix anything that I noticed seemed "off" to me and even came back on a Saturday to check on a non-emergency item that they knew we were anxious to have completed. They did the guest bathroom after the master was complete. Same thing - ripped out an old tub/shower insert, removed everything down to the studs, removed popcorn, etc. They then installed a brand new tub, toilet, plumbing, vanity, mirror, and added some electrical. They tiled the floor and around the shower, build a custom shelf at one end of the tub, installed a light tube (a great way to bring natural light into a dark bathroom/hallway!) and installed the vanity, mirror and lights. Joy and her team were a pleasure to work with and very helpful when I had questions about some final decisions I had to make. They offered suggestions when I asked. Spent 3 weeks shopping around for my kitchen and reflection is the last one I contacted - and the one I decided to go with. We purchased our kitchen during IKEA kitchen sales - and realized later it is a pain to find the right crew to do it, as a lot of general contractors out there are either not willing to touch IKEA products or to charge ridiculous amount to read through the manuals. Of course we can go with IKEA partner - but they are kinda on the expensive side and so swapped due to the sales event. I met with Joy and Donna - both are very knowledgeable and decided to work with them. Joy's crew worked hard to stick with the agreed timeline and the quality is beyond expectation. From the very beginning the quote Joy sent over was itemized, clear and precise. They also have a very comprehensive contract to sign with you (I was surprised to see some of the companies dont do that!). Before signing - all the terms and clauses are carefully explained. During the process - her crew is NEVER LATE. Actually they are often early! Martinez led the project and he is very dedicated, detail oriented and patient. He helped answer all my questions (yes it is very important for a remodeling new-bee). Whenever there is a problem he would always make sure to walk me through the options and offer his professional opinion. The office crew is amazing to work with as well - they are very responsive, willing to listen and accommodate. They remodeled my shower files and floor tiles. Great service at competitive price. Only complaint is it took few day over estimate but things come up and I understand they can be perfect. Master Bathroom Remodel project - they were fantastic! I really liked how I received a calendar of events before the project began. I also like how they have great follow up AFTER they were done. Highly recommend them. I'm updating this review to include the Media Room project that was just completed in September 2012. They had not done this kind of thing before, and they figured out how to install sound proof walls and flooring, and a really cool desk (the media room is disguised as a home office)! It is disappointing that I have to give Reflections such a poor review. But there have been so many things that have occurred in the past few weeks that this is probably the rating they deserve. Quick summary: Good at first. Love our bath remodel, but an extra project was done poorly. Communication has been very difficult and we are still working to get issues addressed 3 months later. First, the good: Joy came out because we wanted to do a master bath remodel. She was kind, confident, and made us feel like we were in excellent hands. The quote was fair and we agreed on a start date a few weeks out from the initial consultation. No problem, there. They started on time and worked very fast. At first. Then, things began to get a little iffy. One contractor came in after the initial framing was done and told us that the last guy had done it all wrong and he had to spend a day redoing the work. We were able to return some tile that had been purchased under Reflections' name, so they received the reimbursement. However, this was not reflected on our invoice until we brought it up. After the bath was done, there was no follow up call or final walkthrough to ensure quality. We were disappointed by that. Here is the bad, and the reason I've given them two stars: We tacked on another project in the middle of the bath remodel, to install french doors in place of our sliding patio door. We had been given a quote on this before the bath remodel started. I mentioned the doors were recycled and needed a frame. I was assured this would not be a problem. I really wish if there were issues with that part they would have just been honest with us and saved us a lot of grief. It took WEEKS to get someone out here to even take a look at the door, and more time after that before someone actually came out to work on it. The crew seemed rushed, were late to the job, and when the install was done it was not correct. There were gaps in the frame, a crack in the door, and weather stripping that was left uninstalled. The heavy rain came and the floor inside the doors was soaked in water. They sent the same person out to fix his job, on a Sunday (which we weren't expecting) but had to leave before the job was done. It has been an EXTRA week since then, and we have received no contact from Reflections, no response to our last request to have the guy come finish the job, and we have unfortunately paid them in full. That was probably our mistake. Our remodel started in June. It is now September and we are still trying to just get these issues fixed. Communication with this company has been very difficult. Please, we just want a back door that works, closes properly, and keeps the rain out. read more

Buyer beware! Lied to us numerous times about getting COA Permit. Game is that they took in paperwork but did not pay fee, so no temp or regular permit number is issued. Do no pay their "holding fee". A big ripoff. Caveat emptor!!! In response to reply from Joy. We did NOT have any open permits on this house! We hired another company to remoldel shortly after our experience with Reflections and there were zero problems with getting permit and doing the job well. Job from start to finish took 6 weeks......amazing new company had no problems with permit. NOTE: our original comments were in 2013 and they just now responded in 2015.... read more

Pricing was straight forward and I didn't feel like I was nickeled-and-dimed to death like my two other quotes. As a few minor issues came up, like any remodel, the fixes were quickly determined and implemented. Other than us adding a couple of items to the to-do list, the price did not change. Work was high quality and fast. We did our kitchen and master bath in about 4 weeks. This included tear out of cabinetry and countertops, new floor tile, new tile in shower, new shower valve and kit, new can lights, under cabinet lighting, soffit demo over kitchen cabinets and in bath, sheet rock repair, door installation, and painting. read more

Since writing this review, Reflections contacted me and sent a new contractor out to correct the mistakes made by the original contractor. They tore out the entire shower floor and redid it. We were looking for a company to do some tile work in our bathroom. We called quite a few companies and most of them didn't even bother to follow up with us. Those that did were prohibitively expensive. Reflections Remodeling, on the other had, was a pleasure to work with. They gave us a quote in a timely manner and the pricing was very good. They came when they said they were coming (always a good thing) and did an excellent job. As with most remodeling projects, there were little issues here and there related to the job being done (because of the work done by previous contractors/builders). Joy Reflections handled all of these little hiccups in a very professional and timely manner. I highly recommend the company. read more

But , as months went by this was not the outcome . 1, She hired a plumber ,that we PAID her to hire ,months later we got stuck with the bill. Because she refused to pay and stated she used the money for somethimg else . 2,she hired guys that constantly messed up or wasn't sure of what to do. Fired them months later . We have several issues that still have not been corrected, fixed ,or even finished . After several attempts of asking her if she was going to come back with her crew to ,finish and correct issues ,she finally stated "Nope". When we hired a attorney for the case ,she had her "Attorney" send us a ugly email at 11pm at night . Hmm funny ,right? We paid her to remodel our home, we have walls that look horrible, outlets and wiring in the attic not completed or hanging . We have showers NO GLASS, we have a front door ,that we have issues keeping closed ,due to they didn't know how to put it in . I could go on about Reflections Remodeling "Joy Groves" . But I won't because she is pointless to waste anyone's time . Her website states she is insured and Bonded , well you better ask for proof . And what ever you do , DO NOT Give her more money until your job is completed !! Do not trust she will do the right thing , like we did.. because in the end ,she will not stand to her word .... Reflections Remodeling just completed our master bath remodel and I would recommend and use the team again. The quality of work is superior and they did not seem to cut corners. We were fairly specific about what we wanted and they were mindful to deliver and address questions or uncertainties upfront. They had alot of patience with us and worked to ensure we were happy with the design and final product. Only 4 stars b/c the project took over twice as long as originally quoted - some of the delays were outside of their control, but others seemed to be capacity issues. We were also always able to eventually get in touch with someone on questions/emails, but sometimes the resopnses were slow. I have no experience with contractors aside from this remodel, so not sure if that is the norm. Overall positive experience and appreciated working with honest and good team of people. read more

Joy and her team did an awesome job. Because of a leak in a bathroom, we needed a load of tiles (plus dry wall) ripped out and then replaced. Refections Modeling came in the same day we contacted them, and they were on-time, friendly, professional and affordable. Long story short.... we have new tiles and the leak is no more. Highly recommended. We plan on having them back at some stage to resurface our bath. read more

Great job! The team worked with us to develop a design for our master bath. They were flexible about modifications as the project moved along. They were able to give us the master bath we wanted despite the limitations of existing drains and plumbing. Pricing was competitive and charges for change orders were reasonable. We have used Joy and Reflections Remodeling several times for different projects around our house. They did a great job installing laminate flooring in our Master bedroom and stairs. Repairing drywall after we had water damage. They were very helpful getting our hot water heaters fixed. We recently bought a new dishwasher and they came right over to fix the water valve and installed the dishwasher. They do a great job for a great price. I would highly recommend them for any project you want to have done in your house. read more

Probably a good reason there is no recent review. We hired them to do a simple second floor master bath remodel. This included replacing a 30" leaking shower with a tiled shower, resurface a tub and counter, remove a large mirror and replace with two smaller ones, remove a half of a wall, and repair and paint the first floor ceiling from the original shower leak. Simple two week job that ended up taking over 14 weeks and three shower rebuilds. What went well was not much. I credit them for not disappearing and they eventually finished the project to a point where we both said "good enough". Other than that, nothing positive to say. Our remodel went like this. First contractor did the demo and a plumber they hired put in a new riser and shower valve. The first contractor did a really bad job on the tiling of the shower. He did not put hardibacker on the walls and so the walls were bowed with the heavy tile. After we complained, they had him redo it, and it was still really bad; walls still bowed and tile crooked and edges sticking out beyond grout. He literally cut and trashed most of our 12 x 24 tile we bought and pulled all the 2 x 2 tile off the mesh making it unusable. In fact he even drilled a screw hole in the new riser which we didn't find out until I tested the shower as testing installations seem to be things not done by them. We told them he was not to return. They then put in their "fix it" contractor. He told them the whole shower needed to be taken out and redone from the ground up. They overrode his recommendation (keep in mind no testing had been done). More tile ordered (their dime) and it looks good. I do a shower test - just turn on the shower and let it drain. Major leak with water pouring from ceiling downstairs. Reflections wanted me to pay them to have their plumber come out and fix. I hired my own. He had to put a hole in the downstairs ceiling and two in the master closet to find and fix the issue - a screw hole (with screw missing) in new shower riser. That's when my plumber, with just a quick glance by him at the shower pan, noted it was all wrong. Not knowing anything about how it's supposed to be (I was relying on Reflections to inspect the work, which they never did from this point forward), he educated me on how pans should be built and how to test them. And no, the pan had never been tested. So I buy a plug and do a pan test. It leaks everywhere. A few weeks later, more tile ordered (their dime) the second contractor is back, ripping out the shower again and starting all over. This time he did it correctly. I mean a one minute Google search showed me how industry wide it should be done and tested and how it's supposed to look - all of which Reflections seems to have idea about. There were more issues but all quite minor compared to the shower. So there were several major issues with this company. First is communication, or the lack there of. First week or two was fine but it quickly went to a point where I had to call to just check on simple status of things that had sat for weeks. In the end, no more phone calls and all contact was by email only. Second is zero supervision of their contractors. With the first contractor, they stopped by just a couple of times over the weeks he was there. And they defended his work even though it was a complete mess. After that, maybe stopped by twice over the next 12 weeks. Only once did they briefly eyed the work of all the other contractors. Third is the apparent lack of construction knowledge. One of the responsibilities is for them to ensure their contractors do quality construction. This is hard for them as they don't seem to know what those are. The concept of pan liners and pan tests seemed foreign to them. Inspecting work does not happen. They didn't even bother to stop by and see the aftermath of the second leak. In the end, they just faded away after the last task I asked them to do was done (pick up the remodeling trash). No final walkthrough, no email, no call. They just silently disappeared. Do yourself a favor, avoid Reflections Remodeling. read more

I love this company and will call them again and again for any of my home repairs. We learned that we had some water coming in behind the tile of our shower in our upstairs bathroom...Of course this is the kids bathroom so I was completely freaked out and did not know how long it had been happening. We were referred to Reflections Remodeling by another friend and let me tell you we were not disappointed. We called them and they immediately came out and reviewed the damage, gave us a quote rather quickly, and began the job the following week. They completely retiled our entire shower in 2 days and it is BEAUTIFUL!!!! The work was impressive and the customer service is top notch.
