Honest review. I'm not surprised to see such a low rating for this store. Save yourself the trip and just order online. I have only ever ordered my bags online since there isn't an LV store close to where I live. Well, for Christmas my husband said "let's go get the full experience and go into the store." So we drove over an hour to this LV store only to be stopped at the door while it was near empty. When I was finally let in, I was told an associate was going to come find me. I waited 40 min before I just went back and asked why nobody had come to help me? At that point she found someone to help me. I already knew what bag I wanted. I told the sales associate that I had my mind made up but wanted to see a few others. She seemed slightly bothered, but I pushed through. There was a guy associate helping someone else and I could see how he was super attentive, but not my girl associate. This is my second try here in Costa Mesa. Okay selection, value...ehhhh given that it's not leather on most items. I stopped here to decide on a Mother's Day gift. I just noticed there are 3 pages for LV for south coast. My previous and current review is for the mall location located on the 2nd floor. After having a decent experience the last time I was here, I returned and looked for DK only to realize he retired. I worked with new sales associate Soroush on this visit. I enjoyed my experience. I usually don't step foot into LV unless I'm looking for something specific. I came today to look at their small leather goods for beauty. I specifically wanted the lipstick pouch and the nice nano. Given that they were new, they sold out but Soroush worked hard to find related items for me. I ended up buying the mirror pouch with the blot papers because it has a usable mirror and could fit credit cards. Soroush helped me narrow down the items and cleaned them for me. He also offered me water to enjoy and gave me perfume samples upon my request. I liked what I purchased and I wasn't the only one. In fact, another customer waiting around saw the item and wanted one too. We talked about how cute the item was. I joked around with my SA and mentioned I helped sell 2 of those today! I'm happy with my experience. Soroush carried out my bags for me and we exchanged contact so that he can keep me updated when they get items I might be interested in. I visited the store on a quiet weekday afternoon. At check-in, I asked for assistance in selecting fragrances, and the staff member told me that someone would be right over to help. After waiting about 10 minutes with no one approaching, I noticed several sales associates standing around with little to do. I returned to the check-in person to follow up, and only then was I directed to a salesperson. There was no acknowledgment or apology for the wait, which was disappointing especially given the premium prices of their products. I made my purchase and received just one sample. I love shopping at South Coast Plaza... but every experience at LV here has left a lot to be desired. There is a reason I frequently purchase from other boutiques but still have only one item from LV- the service (or lack thereof). Every time I've stopped by I have to wander around chasing down employees or wait 45 minutes+ for a shoe to be brought out. I understand that it gets very busy.. but this seems to happen every single time I stop by. I tried to buy sneakers a bit back and waited nearly 45 minutes for them to be brought out. When the associate came out he just picked a random shoe off the display and said "just try these" and walked away. I ended up just going to Dior and purchasing shoes there. I really do want to love this store. Especially since I am always at South Coast and I hope that I can have a better experience soon! I'm not one that feels like employees have to cater to my every need, but if nothing is ever brought out or staff seems to avoid you it does create some difficulties in actually purchasing an item. read more

The men's and women's sections are now in separate stores, which is a bit of a downside--it would've been nice if my wife could browse while I shopped. I stopped by the Louis Vuitton retail store at South Coast Plaza to ask about refurbishing my Baby Louis from the 80s. The woman who greeted me was so kind and directed me upstairs to their third-floor Atelier, where they handle repairs and restorations. The blonde gentleman (sorry I did not get his name) who helped me immediately recognized my bag as a vintage U.S. made Louis Vuitton from that era. He explained that during that time, Louis Vuitton licensed The French Luggage Company to make certain bags in the United States using LV's own canvas and hardware from France. The giveaway on mine was a small leather piece near the zipper that is specific to those U.S. made bags. This meant a lot to me because years ago, at this very location, a salesperson had wrongly told me my bag was fake. I was so embarrassed that I mailed it to Louis Vuitton, who authenticated it and sent it back to me with a certification note. This visit was the complete opposite. He explained my bag was still in good condition and that if refurbished, the leather would be a different shade (he even showed me an example). He encouraged me to think it over since these U.S. made vintage pieces are no longer produced. I asked if he could cut a couple of fraying pieces on the handle, and not only did he burn them so as not to fray, he also cleaned the handle for me. That kind of care, honesty, and attention to detail turned what could have been a quick errand into a wonderful experience. read more

We'll never get anything repaired at this location again. My mother and I dropped off a speedy and a wallet for hot stamping and monogramming earlier this week only to find out that the store somehow lost both of our products. They didn't even have record of our customization receipt, even though we had the receipt that they handed it to us. The employee also never gave us a business card so we couldn't even get in contact with anyone directly. After multiple phone calls that went on during the course of an entire afternoon finally, we get a call from a manager with no apology, but confirmation that he did find our products How does this even happen? Almost $3000 worth of merchandise missing with no store record. Absolutely unacceptable for Louis Vuitton standards. He was able to order one of the Murakami bags I wanted after it was impossible to order anything online the day the new collection launched. I was very happy to finally receive my order after it took longer than anticipated due to its popularity. Mark was very nice, easy to reach, and responsive to my texts. I came to Louis today 12:/26z I had booked an appointment for a return online for 10:30am through the Louis system. The store did not open till 11. Next the concierge at the front said she would find me when a representative was available - I had to see her out again. I was helped by a gentleman and told him what I wanted he had to pull up the website as he was not familiar with the belt. It was a rerun a gift from my sister which I said multiple times - he ended up crediting back my sisters card as opposed to giving me store credit. I did not walk out with the belt!! I've been buying Louis Vuitton products since 1977. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars at Louis Vuitton and I have never had any problems with any of the items until now. A Monogram Multiple Wallet that I purchased started to Melt at the Seams. One day I pulled my wallet out to use it and whatever Glue they now use was all over the inside of my pocket, the inside and outside of the wallet and on my hands. It was the strangest thing I've ever seen. I have over a dozen Louis Vuitton wallets that I rotate and none of the other wallets have ever had any problems. I took the wallet to the Louis Vuitton "Repair Atelier" in South Coast Plaza and they admitted there was a problem with the wallet. (see review by Ben K. on Yelp to see the exact same problem). Then the lady at the "Repair Atelier" told me that since there was a slight (you have to look very hard to find it) crack on the edge of the vinyl they would not repair it. Since this wallet was hardly used and this issue is a known problem and cost almost $600.00 after tax you would think LV would replace the wallet if they didn't know how to fix it, but NO. The lady curtly replied that they would not do anything to help me out and turned me away. Louis Vuitton has not only lost me as a customer, but most of my friends (since they usually buy something from Louis Vuitton for my Birthday and Holidays). Sad after 48 years of patronage. According to websites such as Reddit there have been huge quality control problems with Louis Vuitton products in the past few years. Search "Louis Vuitton decline" to see all of the problems LV is having. I don't mind spending money on something that is handmade and special, but LV has turned into just another massed-produced product that cuts corners to make a few extra dollars. Went to the LV store in South Coast Plaza yesterday, brought my wife a nice new purse for her birthday. I was also looking for a few colognes for myself. I'd have to say that the customer service was just 'meh', something that I'd expect at a department store. When asked to use the bathroom, the other salesman said something to the effect that my sales rep should help me out and that he usually doesn't if its not his customer. The other customer service reps were just standing around, not very attentive. Didn't offer us any drinks, which I saw others had in hand. When lurking in the cologne section, I showed interest in purchasing, but they didn't seem very motivated to push my decision over into a sale. After the purchase of the expensive purse, I asked for a few samples of the LV colognes (the dry down smells much different on skin then on paper), the rep said they are all out, so I took my business to Hermes across the way there and purchased a ~500.00 cologne, since the attention and customer service experience they provided me was WAY better, including a few samples. Had they been a bit more attentive to me, and actually offered a few samples, I would have easily purchased from LV. Very disappointed in the experience that I expect from a luxury brand. read more
