I was visiting with my husband for a conference he was attending. He suggested I spend my empty Saturday shopping and chose our hotel for its close proximity to Fashion Island. They had an extensive beauty and fragrance department, and a pretty good shoe department. What was disappointing was that no one in the beauty or fragrance department acknowledged me. I wanted to spend some money, but when they didn't look at me, I sniffed some perfumes, took pictures, and ended up ordering what I wanted online. They had several people in the shoe department. They at least greeted me, but I had to circle around multiples times, find a shoe, and then ask for my size. Tim was great! Apparently, he's been around at NM for decades and is very knowledgeable. He helped me purchase a pair of Dior sandals and helped me order a pair of Prada sandals from another store. Five stars for Tim! The Louis Vuitton experience was...odd. There were four or five associates huddled together. A guy broke from the group to greet me. I wanted to see multiple items and make a purchase. He helped me try on a purse. Then, I wanted to see multiple items. He went off to find them, but none of them were in-stock. Most stores will at least offer to order online and ship to you, but not here. The associates all gathered around a door entrance because one of the employees had their dog at the mall; a family member brought the dog to the store to see the sales associate. While everyone fawned over the dog, Bailey, at the door, I meandered around the store looking like a fool. After the dog left, one of the associates was like, "HI! Let me know if you need some help! Feel free to browse and try stuff on!" I was like...I've already been here for five plus minutes, but okay. I responded with, "Oh, thank you! The items I want are not in-stock." She replied with, "Oh, okay! Feel free to look around!" What?? Okay, anyway... I had an amazing experience with Nathan at CHANEL, but I plan to write a separate review for him. Nathan and Tim made my experience at Neiman's better. Otherwise, this would be a three-star review. Overall, the store has multiple departments and an extensive selection for everyone. Trang gave me such an amazing experience! She introduced me to a new skincare line, Cle de Peau, and it is truly luxurious. Everything felt so high end and beautiful, and she explained it all in a way that was easy to understand without feeling overwhelming. She also helped me find two perfect new lipsticks from Chanel. Just had a phone call with someone from Nieman Marcus to inquire about a perfume. The lady had no idea what I was talking about. Had to get transferred twice. I spelled the perfume out for her, and she still couldn't get it right. It seemed like she was very frustrated And didn't want to attend to me. All I wanted to know was if the perfume was in stock. When I said you must not have it then, she said "yeah I guess not OK bye." Did not even try to see if I would wanted Anything else, needed anything else. I usually have a great time in store and everyone is usually very nice. However, this phone call left a bad taste in my mouth. This review is only for the cle de peau counter at this Neiman Marcus. Trang and Nasreen over at cle de peau are very professional, honest, personable, and overall lovely ladies. The selection is very good in comparison to other stores esp. now that there is a major CDP, Chanel, and shisedo shortage (the FDA is to blame). That said being said, Trang and Nasreen always notify me when new collections and products come in as they know I am a big fan of CDP products and have been using them for over a decade. In addition to that, they also alert me when Neiman Marcus has a promotion for beauty and fragrances, which is a major bonus. They say, you get what you pay for, and in the case of CDP, you certainly do. It's at around the same price point as Sisley, la Mer, chantecaille, and others... but Cle de peau is the best, and that is a fact. Overall, Trang and Nasreen are the best of the best with respect to delivering the highest quality of client service, and they always create the most pleasant and enjoyable shopping experience (and this is coming from someone who does not like to go shopping). Re Zegna @ Neiman. Neiman is about experience not price. As a long time Zegna men's boutique customer, I wanted to try Neiman's Zegna as they had a Zegna (rack with tailoring) sports coat priced well under the boutique. In short, the Zegna coat was less expensive, but the experience was abysmal (especially the indifference, if not outright disdain, shown by the men's designer wear salesmen). Trying to resolve in-house, Neiman Customer Service 'could not connect me with the department manager'. The Zegna jacket itself is great. My advice? Pay the difference and shop at the boutique (I am). read more

Ordered online Bottega Venetta Tote, with two left for $4,400.00. It was not on sale. Order was accepted, approved and sent to me with confirmation. About a week later I received notice that it was canceled. Sorry, no more left in inventory. This unfortunately is a bigger probalem than just this. With Saks purchase of Neiman's, this is a common problem of inventory shortages or mishaps according to employees. Since I am a pltinum customer, no offer to try and find another or compensate. I absolutely love this location! There is great inventory, excellent customer service, and it is in a great location. Located at the outdoor fashion center of Fashion Island, this is always a favorite stop. There are multiple small stores located within NM, such as Louis Vuitton, and though these aren't the largest stores, they have great options. I placed an order for a bottle of perfume ($300) from this store because they didn't have it in stock. It was meant to be a Christmas gift for my sister in New York I placed the order on Friday, the 20th. I flew to NYC on Sunday to join my sister, and the package arrived on Monday, the 23rd. Since it was a Christmas gift, I intercepted it, intending to give it to her on the 25th. Well, imagine my surprised when I opened the package. The perfume came in a bubble envelope without any protective wrapping around the box. The box was crushed, the lid didn't align with the base, and one corner was ripped. Inside, the bottle had visible fingerprints, making it look like a used floor sample. This was a gift and had I not been there to open it first, my sister would have received a damaged and unpresentable gift. She's not aware of any of this because why expose her to the unpleasantness, but I feel compelled to warn others. People who receive gifts often don't bring up issues out of politeness or embarrassment, so you may never know the condition of what they received. I sent an email to "neimanmarcus@customercare.neimanmarcus.com" and "customercarenm@neimanmarcus.com", but all I got was the following message from Mail Daemon: This message could not be delivered due to a recipient error. Please try again later. (Edit to add): Their customer service typically responds to initial complaints by requesting additional information, as they've done with this post. However, once you provide the requested details, they fail to follow up. Instead, the only response you receive is a bounce-back email from Mailer-Daemon. Neiman Marcus, I'm not your typical customer base. My lifestyle isn't exactly "fancy," so your store isn't a place I frequent. This was an impulse purchase--one that might have led to another--but I wasn't particularly impressed with the in-store customer service either. In hindsight, that might have been a fortunate turn of events. I'm not going to gripe about the associates; they are making a living, and it certainly is not a job I'd do. Neiman Marcus Didn't Pay Postage for My Package, Now it's Gone!!! So, I want to start off by saying that I experienced this issue not only once, but twice. I had ordered an expensive beauty product from Neiman Marcus on May 2nd. As a Mother's Day promotion. 3 additional gifts were added to the order as the original item was quite expensive, so it qualified for additional gifts. I placed the order and the next day got a confirmation that my order had shipped, and would arrive in a few days. Well the delivery date passed, then another week. I called Customer Service, as well as the post office. Well after investigating, the post office found that Neiman Marcus hadn't paid the postage for the package, so now it was not going to be delivered to me and basically confiscated by USPS! I called NM Customer service again and explained the situation. I asked for them to just order the same product with the same promotional gifts. Well they didn't have anymore gifts! So now I don't get my beauty item, or gifts. And I missed all the Mother's Day promotions! They didn't even offer me an incentive due to the terrible situation or my stress! I was straight crying on the phone asking for them just to ship me out the same stuff! But nope! This situation happened to me a few years ago, same thing. I purchased some clearance designer (still expensive) shoes. The postage was never paid from Neiman Marcus so my package was confiscated by the USPS and disappeared. I've been going to this swanky department store since I was a youngster. I must admit, they don't call this place Needless Markup for a reason. I mostly shop in the beauty department on the first floor, these days. The beauty department has many known brands, and the selection is decent. What can I say, I have a most wonderful experience every time when I come here. I've been shopping with Michelle Luna for over 10 years now, and I'm never disappointed when I shop with her! She mostly works at the Tom Ford Cosmetics Counter, and she is always patient with me when I ask questions on products. Michelle can sell me anything in the store, and not just the beauty department. Terrible experience here. I bought a jacket that was over $2k. Alexander McQueen. I wore it ONCE. It was not the right color, and we had to wear logo colors, so I tried to return it. After ONE wear, the jacket apparently had sweat stain DAMAGE (cheap material?) and part of the button color had come off! Really? $2k? What WASTE. The worst part? Of course, NON-RETURNABLE due to this damage after just ONE wear. Don't EVERY buy Alexander Mc Queen and I will NEVER shop Neiman Marcus again. Tip for consumers: If you are willing to spend $2k on a fabulous jacket for work trade shows, it had better be stellar quality and you need to be able to use and rely on it for more than ONE use! If ti's not up to par we need a FULL REFUND not to be told that because the quality sucks we can't return it. I asked if they could look it up by the purchaser's phone number or email (like the one in SoCoast Plaza does) but they would not help me even though it was 13 days after Christmas, storage bag, tags, ribbon & LV box in tact. It was pretty embarrassing to have to ask the gift-giver for the receipt. I ended up just returning it & had them credit back the card used. I guess they forgot, I'm the paying customer. Go direct to a LV store. There is a beautiful, huge, helpful location at South Coast Plaza that keeps records of all your purchases etc. I expected more :( read more

Neiman Marcus is one of my favorite places to buy luxe goods... Last year I made the switch from Chanel Sublimage to La Mer. I had a male client who was in his 50's but dated 19-21 years old. He went to get these facials and saw a woman who looked 35 but was actually 50. I'm not that old yet but as time goes by I can see that it is highly possible with the right skincare. I introduced my friend to La Mer and she asked me if it ever goes on sale. It rarely does but Neiman Marcus has the most incredible offers. They had a New Year offer for $250 off $1000 or $125 off $500 which is super generous. That offer is no longer available but they still have $50-$300 gift cards now when you spend $250 -$1000. I still rotate from the La Mer website, Sephora, Bloomingdales, Saks, and Nordstrom but straight cash off is always the BEST deal. read more

few days ago I bought JIMMY CHOO Reka leather and raffia espadrilles. When I came home I noticed they are small for me and also not walkable because they are soo uncomfortable! I bought them because I felt pressured from the sales person to buy them even though i told them i need bigger size. he stamped my receipt as Final sale, so when I came back today to return them I been told they cannot accept that, even the Manager said that. They are in new condition with original box, dust bags and booklet. the manager also told me if I have ordered online it was not a problem to return them!! im so disappointed that department store like this doesn't care about their customers!!! read more
